Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi folks, Chris Voss here from thechrisvossshow.com. Hey, coming to you with another great booth interview we're doing at CES 2020. Oh my God, where am I? I've only done like 50 of these. So we're interviewing all the really cool stuff at CES 2020, all the innovative stuff you want to see. And we're at the Media Tech booth, and it's also partnered with Elliptic Labs. They're going to show us some of the really cool stuff. So we're here interviewing Samantha Watts.
Starting point is 00:00:23 Samantha, how are you doing? Doing well. How are you, Chris? All right. So you guys got some really cool stuff you've we're here interviewing Samantha Watts. Samantha, how are you doing? Doing well, how are you Chris? Alright, so you guys got some really cool stuff you've been showing us, so let's take a look. Now who are you guys and what are you doing? So we are one of MediaTek's rich IoT partners and what we do is we do an AI virtual smart sensor platform. We reuse hardware already on consumer devices like smart speakers, smartphones and we enhance its capabilities and in some cases make the hardware totally unnecessary. We reuse hardware already on consumer devices like smart speakers, smartphones, and we enhance its capabilities and in some cases make the hardware totally unnecessary.
Starting point is 00:00:50 Cool. And so you guys work with these guys. You guys have a booth. It's at the Toscano on level three. It's number 3601-3610 to get into it. And so if you get a chance to come by the booth. So I can show us how it works. Yeah, of course. So we are demoing on one of Xiaomi's AI smart speakers. It's running on one of MediaTek's chipsets. And with this, we're using the single speaker and mic already in this device to emit ultrasound. And with that, whoa, holy crap, we are able to sense touchless gestures. That's probably understand currently it's called haptic touch. No, so we're using ultrasound. Yeah. So wow, it's the same thing you guys check
Starting point is 00:01:35 when you guys are checking for babies. Exactly, it's a much lower frequency than that, but same general principle. What if I find a baby in my hand? if you find a baby in your hand you should probably get that looked at okay that's I'll put that on my task list all right so you guys get the really cool product here and now is this the AI virtual smart sensor platform yes it is so this uses our platform and with our platform you can do touchless gestures like that okay um with more speakers and mics you can also do swipe, you can do presence sensing, people counting and proximity sensing. Now this is something for B2B for business partners you want to work with or is this available as a retail sort of product? So we work directly with the manufacturers so you
Starting point is 00:02:17 would have to purchase from one of our partners who put this in their device. Okay and so they can put it in you guys can kind of like custom build it the way they need to? Exactly so our platform is able to tune to whatever our partners needs are. Okay and that looks really cool I love the thing you can just wave your hands and stuff you know I get tired of touching stuff and movement when you're seeing more phones go to where you just wave your hand and do different things and stuff so that's awesome. So what are you guys doing here at CES? What's a good reason to come by the booth and check it out and then we'll see what you've got going on here? So aside from this demo that I just shown, we have several other demos on a
Starting point is 00:02:56 smartphone and another one on the smart speaker. If you're curious about doing that, if you want to talk about presence detection without using cameras, that's a big one for us. Okay. We believe heavily in privacy, and ultrasound does not record your voice. It does not record your image. Well, that's good. No one wants to see me on camera.
Starting point is 00:03:13 Neither robots or anything. That's on my Tinder profile, too, by the way. I'm sure that gets you a lot of dates. Or not. So, anyway, this is really cool. So, they can come by the booth check it out you've got a whole big booth with some other cool stuff that's here come to the media tech booth at ces uh 2020 and uh yeah good stuff huh yeah all right well thanks guys uh be sure to
Starting point is 00:03:38 keep watching for all the different uh interviews we're bringing to you from ces 2020 and we'll see you next time thank you
