Today we have more earnings.
Yesterday we talked about Apple's earnings, so now we're on the other side of that.
Microsoft, quarter two, their revenue was up 36.9 billion dollars with a 14 year of a year net income of 11.6 billion up 38 year of your holy crap that whole thing worked about
no longer selling the hard copies of their software. It's just whatever.
So there you go.
Even their Office 365 consumer subscribers hit 37.2 million.
Fuck, that's fucking huge.
Holy shit.
Wow.
Good for Microsoft.
Way to go.
Their quarter two gaming revenue, though, was down 21% year over year.
That's kind of interesting.
You've got Stadia, of course, entering the gaming market.
Let's see, who else do you have entering the gaming market?
Nvidia has been around for a while.
I'm trying to think of what other different advances there were,
but evidently maybe Xbox isn't quite doing as well. So that kind of might be interesting to see as things play out.
Facebook.
Facebook reports a quarter four revenue of $21.1 billion, up 25% year over year, and
net income of $7.4 billion, up%, which is over 1.66 billion people.
1.6 billion people using Facebook every day.
Holy fucking shit.
Good for them.
Imagine if they could break into China,
like they could get on China's internet, man.
How about you, JB?
What can you do, man man so good news is Facebook is
making a lot of money selling you check your mail see if you get a check for
your cut of the action since you are the product corner CNN Mark Zuckerberg says
his goal for Facebook this decade isn't gonna to be liked, isn't to be liked, but to be understood.
Which basically means his attitude is, you may not like me, but you will understand me, bitch.
That's kind of his whole attitude these days.
Fuck you.
I own you.
Shut the fuck up and sit down.
So there you go. According to Bloomberg, there's a thing called Practice Fusion,
which offers free ad-supported health record software to doctors.
They have agreed to pay a $145 million Department of Justice fine
for its role in boosting opioid prescriptions. So, wow, that can't read very well, opioid prescriptions.
So, wow, that's a painful freaking find.
They must have made a lot of money on it.
They offer free ad-supported health record software to doctors.
Wow, what are the privacy concerns on that?
Wow, man, but they help facilitate opioid epidemics.
So, I guess that worked out good
according the New York Times the Facebook the Facebook has agreed to pay
550 million dollars to settle a class-action lawsuit over the Illinois
and biometric law violations for tagging users and photos after SCOTUS rejected its appeal. So, yeah, just more Facebook just doesn't seem to give a shit.
It's just like, what did Mark Zuckerberg say?
My goal for this decade isn't to be liked but to be understood.
So you will understand that I'm fucking you in the ass, I guess, basically.
I don't know.
Coup is an, I think is an app.
Let's see.
Koo outlines, this is from MacRumors.
Koo outlines Apple's, sorry, Benji, 2020 4.7-inch iPhone, AirTags tracker,
small wireless charging mat, high-end headphones, and refreshed iPad, MacBook Pro,
and Air that they plan to release
new products in the first half of 2020.
That's what they claim
is going to be coming out. It might be a rumor,
so you'll have to see how that works out.
More fallout in
court stuff. Wow, it's like
a lawsuit day. According to Bloomberg,
California court has ordered Apple
to pay $838
million and
broadband to pay $270 million
for infringing on California Institute
of Technology patents on Wi-Fi
transmissions. Basically
$1.1 billion in
damages for
infringing on the California Institute of
Technology patents on
Wi-Fi transmissions.
Holy shit.
That's a lot of money.
Maybe you should have paid the fee.
I don't know.
Maybe it's cheaper to get to.
I see a lot of get caught and everything else.
I'm skewing.
I'm sorry, guys.
According to Wall Street Journal,
the U.S. Interior Department has endorsed a no-fly rule for its 800 plus drops that were made by China or have China parts
with some exceptions amid espionage concerns one of that is effects one of
my favorite drone companies DJI I believe all the stuffs made in China I
mean I think every drones made in China there any there only US-based US drones?
I don't know.
It's definitely interesting.
They're concerned about data collection being used by foreign entities.
Maybe shouldn't have bought the name drones in the first place.
What the hell?
According to 9to5Mac, Fantastical, a popular calendar app for iOS and macOS,
switches to a subscription model to unlock new premium features
like calendar sets and weather forecasts.
So, yeah, Fantastical, a popular calendar app.
Wow, that's good.
Bain them in, get them hooked, then switch the thing on them,
charge them more money.
That's the. Bain them in, get them hooked, then switch the thing on them and charge them more money. That's the Apple way.
According to the New Humanitarian, there's a report out that the UN did not tell the public nor its general staff about a hacking attack into its IT systems last July, despite staff records being compromised.
Hey, so all your staff records, your social security, your address, and all that stuff got stolen.
We're not going to tell you until they clean out your credit card accounts first.
Oh, wow.
There you go.
According to Reuters, the EU is preparing rules on data interoperability and cross-border use to create a single market in data aimed at challenging the dominance of big tech this is a source that's this is coming from certainly
they are always trying to compete with our companies so there's always that
battle of countries and their companies if you will to maybe you know get one
over the other so that should be interesting if it rolls out.
Holy crap.
This is the record three yawns in a podcast.
Can you believe this shit?
I knew I shouldn't have done this late at night.
Better had a coffee first.
Have a coffee, Chris.
Samsung reports week quarter four earnings
from low memory chip sales as net profit slumps to $4.4 billion, down 39% year over year.
Holy crap-a-moly, on revenue of $50 billion, up 1.1%.
Wow, they took a total nosedive on their memory chip sales.
So that's not good for old Samsung.
I hope they keep putting out great phones because that's important to me.
According to the information, the source says,
Apple has terminated AI startup XNOR.AI's involvement in the Pentagon's Project Maven
after its recent acquisition of the startup.
So Apple bought them and said, nope, can't play with the Pentagon anymore in the Pentagon's project maven after its recent acquisition of the startup so Apple bottom and said nope can't play with the Pentagon
anymore in the big government and imagine they're gonna take and imagine
they're gonna take and I don't use them for themselves so there you go
Google says in its bounty bug bounty program in 2019 according to venture beat it paid 461 security research
researchers 6.5 million up from 3.4 million and 317 researches in
2018 how much does that come out to be here was my calculator
Somebody find my phone there is so how much is that that's the pretty awesome
six million I want to become a dude who finds I find all sorts of errors in
software I don't know they're necessarily hackable but I find all
sorts of software and gaming I want to know how to I want to make some of that cash.
So 6.5 million divided by 461.
I took basic math.
That's $14,099 per person who found a thing shit you find a big
enough one you probably get you know payola man how'd you get your million dollars chris
i found a bug fucking microsoft windows which one uh according to the New York Times, despite U.S. pressure,
the EU told member states they could limit high-risk 5G vendors like Hawaii
but did not recommend a total ban.
I think we talked about this yesterday on the show.
This is kind of interesting because, well, you know,
basically 5G, Huawei is kind of getting beat up by the US the US, you know there's some
people today that were talking about how
the US has never really provided
proof of Huawei's
being able to spy on their thing
I've seen proof of like where their
CEO was like a general for the Chinese
and all that sort of good stuff and
I don't know, either way I don't have a dog
in this fight other than
I don't know he uses a cell I don't have a dog in this fight, other than, I don't know,
I'll use a cell phone, but maybe what you should do is take a look at, I don't know, just,
it's one of those days, man, maybe just decide what you want to do there,
what does that do with the UK and huawei i don't
know man i need a cup of coffee holy shit this is the no coffee podcast at this point
chris what are we tuning into man um go take a nap chris this is the nap podcast holy fucking shit according to zd net paypal reports a quarter full revenue of 4.96
billion i think that's pretty much most of the fees they charge me this year up 17 year over
year good for you paypal it's good to know my accounts are fine with total payment volume up
22 percent venmo's user base reached 52 million and process payments grew up 56%
year over year that was probably Venmo's huge holy shit
Venmo's user base grew up 56% of process payments holy shit yeah that Venmo men
it's kind of funny because PayPal owns Venmo and
I've actually talked to companies that are like no we don't do business PayPal
there's too scammy but we use Venmo and I'm like what it's the same company
fools and they're like so there you go hey, that's the roundup for me. Sorry for the yawning.
Yeah, it's one of those days, man.
I'm going to put the last one in just to be a shithead.
And that's how I'm going to round out the show.
You happy with that?
I don't know, man. I hope you guys are entertained.
So entertaining, Chris.
What the fuck are you doing,
I don't know man,
anyway guys,
we'll see you tomorrow,
hopefully,
we'll see you tomorrow,
more interesting news,
and less yawns,
if you like the yawning though,
let me know,
I'll do it more,
I mean,
seriously,
if you want,
I'll just do a whole podcast,
where I yawn the whole time,
it's just gonna be nothing but.
It's going to be like those speed metal bands you listen to.
Where the guy's like.
And you're like what is he saying?
What are the words?
I can't hear the lyrics.
What the fuck is going on? It's going one of those the yawning podcast what I just did that I
just did a podcast for yawning like one of my friends sent me one of these
videos of the I forget what they're called ASMs or ADSM or PDSM no it wasn't
that big type of video it was like an ASM video it's I don't know it's
one of those things so anyway it's a video we're like some hot chick whispers
to you and I guess guys do it too but they like whisper to you they're like
and like the whole video is that and for someone like me you just want to punch
the person in the face after a while but i guess for
some people this either gives them erotic pleasure or i don't know it's cool fucking whatever man
hey whatever you do as long as there's consensual and two consenting adults and you know everyone's No one's getting severely hurt more than they want to be.
Let's put that out there.
I guess it's okay.
So anyway, maybe I'll do like a, I think they're called ASMs.
I think that's what they are.
Audio sensory, God, I even know what it stands for.
Audio sensory, auto sensory masturbation.
I don't know.
Whatever.
So anyway, that's what I'll do
I'm gonna do a yawning podcast
Microsoft and Apple and yeah I've never yawned so much in the podcast I know I
may have done an off-air like if I had a guest i may have been muting myself and
offing off air offing off air you know i just need to quit i just need to stop now just stop
chris just give it up man just let it go what are you gonna do man what are you gonna day you got
that data what are you gonna do hey guys thanks? What are you going to do? You got to know what you're going to do.
Hey, guys, thanks for tuning in.
We certainly appreciate it.
And my apologies for this episode.
