Hi folks, Chris Voss here from thechrisvossshow.com. We're here covering CES 2020 and we're in
another booth. We are in Eureka Park at 51263. So if you get a chance, come on and see these
guys. And we're interviewing Lee here. Lee, how you doing?
My name is Darren Lee. I'm the sales and marketing manager for Monit.
I'm sorry, Darren. I was just-
No, not a problem. They messed up my tag. It's not your fault.
That's cool. So what's the name of your guys' company? So our company
name is Monit. M-O-N-I-T. We do smart elderly care. We also do baby diaper sensors as well.
Okay. Do you want me to show it? Let's take a look at our product there. So we're developing
diaper sensors, okay? We already have our baby diaper sensor on the market. We already
sold 8,000 in Japan and Korea. Wow. All right. What we're trying to do though is we're expanding
into the elderly market.
Okay?
So what we're developing right now is a diaper sensor that attaches to the front of the diaper.
Okay?
We have two models coming out.
We have the clinical model and the family model.
The clinical model.
This is it right here.
Okay?
Take a look.
So it's a hub, a central hub that is placed at a nursing station or an office where it'll monitor multiple devices.
Okay?
Basically, it'll tell you whether those patients have peed or pooed.
How do we do that?
Okay.
We have five different sensing technologies, conductivity, temperature, humidity, movement,
and volatile organic compound gases.
Okay?
Specific to pee and poo.
Combined with our patented learning algorithm, we are able to detect confidently whether that patient has peed or pooed. Oh wait, that's
not it. Elderly care, a big issue is falls.
Alright, our accelerometer with our learning algorithm can detect movement.
So when that patient, whether they're dementia, Alzheimer's, or even just weak
and can't make conscious decisions, when they're getting up, when they're
moving around,
it'll send a real-time notification to that hub
that'll tell the nurses or care staff to get over there
and prevent that fall from even happening.
Wow.
All right.
That's awesome.
Take a look at this right here.
We have this UI right here.
It'll tell you right here the patient's information,
whether they peed or pooed.
You see it says supine, right?
That motion technology also, bed sores.
Patients have to be moved and rotated, right?
We can see how long they're in a particular position,
and that could be relayed to the nurses, right?
If somebody's getting pressure sores because they're sleeping on one side too much,
a doctor can look at that and tell them to rotate.
Or they can also tell whether the nurses are not doing their job,
whether the nurses need to rotate more often, okay?
Here we go.
Our hub also detects
environmental qualities, okay? Temperature, humidity, air quality. What does that matter?
For me, if my grandma or somebody was inside of a care facility, I get this sent to my phone. I know
what condition she's in, right? I know what the temperature is. I know what the air quality is
like. This will give accountability, responsibility to that facility to provide good care. Now nurses. Nurses are going around checking. If they check and there's nothing there, they got
to throw the diaper away anyway. It'll save money, right? Save time. When nurses check 20 times a day,
they get annoyed. Patient care goes down. If we tell them exactly when they go,
they could provide care in other areas like wound care or more other preventative issues.
Check this out.
Our hub.
Charging.
10 out, 10 in.
10 using, 10 charging.
For added hygiene, inside of our device, we have a UV sanitation charger.
So while it's charging, it gets sanitized.
But all of our products are designed to be cleaned and wiped by antimicrobial disposable wipes
Nice that's amazing man, and I got to have two sisters
I have two sisters in in care facilities
And they definitely need this because you you hit on all the points and so I mean my past
I'm actually a licensed EMT in the state of California, and I did an inter-facility chance where I did critical care transport
I've been to these facilities. I understand what it's like to be a family member
looking at your parent or your grandparent in that condition. We always want better conditions.
We're always about patient advocacy, okay? Better for the patient. This unit right here is our
clinical unit. Our family unit is going to be one hub, one device, releasing in September,
$299. One unit, one device sends you real-time notifications to your phone so you can monitor your loved one.
That's awesome, Sauce.
So anything more we need to know about the product and how it works?
I think we covered all the basics right there, but before we're done, let me do the quick one right here.
Give me the, let me see my baby right here.
All right, here, here, quick, quick.
This is for the parents out there.
Here we go.
All right, carrying your baby, right?
Elbow, shoulder, back pain, okay?
You always see parents doing this thing with their hip out.
Right, bad for your back, bad for your posture, back pain.
Then you switch sides because you're tired.
Nah, not anymore.
Nice standing up straight.
Go ahead and pop that hip seat up.
Sit that baby right on top of that hip seat.
Hey, press down on that for me.
50 kilogram weight capacity, 50 kilos.
Okay, five, zero.
All right, now, when the baby's...
Exactly, no seriously, and that's an application
we're looking into.
Here we go.
Now when the baby's old enough to support his head,
you can go ahead and turn him around.
Move him around your waist, wherever you want.
Eating.
Traditionally, parents eat with the chick on the left.
They're always hunched over, bent over like this.
Not anymore.
He's on your level now.
Okay?
We're sitting down right here.
I have good posture.
My baby has good posture.
I feed me, I feed him.
Now baby goes to bed, taking a nap.
Where'd he go?
Easy up, easy down.
Also, doubles like a laptop stand. The best laptop stand ever.
Alright, so what website can we go to look this up at?
So we are on Kickstarter for this baby carrier. Our baby sensors and diaper sensors are not on the US market yet, but they will be within the next month or two.
So what website can they look it up? It's going to be bebefit.io or goodmonit.com.
G-O-O-D-M-O-N-I-T.com.
