Hey guys, so Chris Voss here from the Chris Voss Show podcast.
Hey, here's another booth interview that we did at CES 2020.
This is from a company called Ovis, and they make these really cool wristbands.
You can put it on your wrist that cause your luggage to follow you around, and the luggage
has got all this really cool features to it.
So let's check it out.
I'm going to zip it up then.
So I'm filming now.
Okay.
So this is the Ovis X suitcase.
Okay.
My Ford X. Inside of the suitcase,
you have easy access to the lithium ion battery.
So there's a quick disconnect.
You have two different USB ports as well in the battery.
So you can actually charge your own device.
Nice.
Or as you move.
The lithium ion battery should last about 13 miles when you travel.
So you have enough time to go to and from.
And it just charges off your standard AC outlet.
There's also a little bag here so you can put your toiletries.
So when you go through and you don't have TSA pre-checking, you just quickly pull all your items out for security.
Oh, nice.
We've also put this handy little card in there.
This card, it seems kind of silly, but what we've done is if you have a pesky TSA agent that doesn't quite understand the technology,
doesn't believe you, and wants to disassemble your suitcase, you can say, look, this is what's inside.
And here's my FCC approval, here's the device, and also here's what the internal components look like.
It's got a motor, they see batteries and magnets and they get confused, right?
There's always that one guy.
Yep.
So that's in there to help, hopefully.
Then for the computer vision side of things, we have five cameras embedded on it.
So we have one here.
We have one on the end here.
One on this end.
And then one here and one here.
So that's just detecting the person as it moves throughout
the environment. Also with that app that I mentioned on the cell phone, this one can
actually record things. So it has HD quality recording capabilities. So it can act as an
additional device if you choose to use it in this type. We've also embedded some, this
is a see-through demonstration case to
show you the internal components, but we also have ultrasonic sensors and so those are used
for glass detection because computer vision might not necessarily detect glass which is important in
a sliding glass door or something like that. We're going to walk through that. They're used mainly for that. Wow, I didn't even know that was a thing. Inside, there's a quick latch and locking mechanism.
And you can see inside here, you got plenty of room to store, as well as room for the
wheels and the batteries.
So you can easily pack for a week or a couple of days depending on how well you can pack.
Do they come in any bigger sizes or is this the biggest one?
This is the biggest one. So we just have the one sized egg.
It comes in four different colors.
And then we also launched for Star Wars.
We actually launched, we had licensing rights in China only.
You got it Chris.
Okay.
You want to do it or you want me to do it?
I'll let you do it.
So we have this wristwatch and what this does, this just has haptics built into it.
So what it does is it tells me if I'm more than a certain distance away from it, it'll
bite right on my wrist.
Maybe it's got it confused, it's had too many objects in its way, people aren't getting
out of its way.
So that's just for extra safety.
So the way it works is it's going to take a picture of me with this camera here when
I push this button.
And you'll actually see the motors engaged.
The suitcase will shift slightly and then the LED will turn green.
Okay.
So now it's connected to me.
Okay.
I start to walk.
It's like a magic trick.
Oh, wow.
There we go.
Now I just have a normal manual suitcase.
Nice that's pretty cool dude.
