Hi folks, Chris Voss here from thechrisvossshow.com.
Hey, come in here with another great booth interview from CES 2020.
We're here at Verimatrix, Verimatrix with Martin.
Martin, tell us what you do for Verimatrix.
Hey, I'm Martin Bergenwald and I'm the Senior Vice President of Products with Verimatrix.
There you go.
And so you guys are up here in a suite, so if people want to see see you guys as a booth they've got to come to the Westgate Suites it's
I think 2210? That's correct yeah. And so what's the best way to get in contact
you to come see the booth? I think you can just walk up and take the elevator
up to the 22nd floor. Okay and just look for Verimatrix and all that good stuff?
So tell us who you guys are and what you guys are doing. So Verimatrix and all that good stuff. So tell us who you guys are and what you guys are doing.
So Verimatrix is a company that has been in the business for I think more than 20 years.
We have been focusing on protecting content and also now we're focusing on protecting codes.
So this CES we are highlighting code protection. Okay and so you guys do that from a software
aspect and what's the website people can go to to this up so we have we have two websites we have a www.raypatricks.com and we have
protectmyapp.com okay and so is this mostly for consumers is this b2b it's
mostly b2b for anybody who develops software and need a protection okay so
I'll find the software developer I'm making some apps I need protection
because I don't want to get sued I don don't want to get in trouble with the FTC, I don't want to leak passwords, I want to make sure that we have end-to-end security.
You guys don't want to contact, is that correct?
Correct, correct. And you can also go to the Protect My App website and just sign up online.
Okay, so you guys actually have a Protect Your App website that they can go to?
Correct, yeah. And you can sign up, everything is online. Okay, so you guys actually have a Protect Your App website? Correct, yeah. And you can sign up, everything is online. So what makes your software, you know, something that works really great for app makers? So we have protected
millions of apps by end users. What we have focused on is making it easy to
protect and that's I think how we differentiate. Okay, and so you guys work with the app makers,
you help them design, or do they just drag and drop
your code, or how does it work?
So with the Protect My App, how it works is basically
you take your app, that app that is ready for the app store
and you upload it to Protect My App,
and then through one click you get it protected,
and get a protected version back.
All right, so you guys ship it back to them
and it's all protected, and it just makes the ease of
setting up all those details and coding.
Exactly.
So instead of requiring our customers to know a lot about security, instead of having them
knowing a lot about how to do protection, what we do is we have an online site and you
just upload the app.
And the security is such a big deal.
We're seeing so many more hackers going. Microsoft just shut down a website or like really took over 50 websites from North Korea.
There's probably going to be a lot more hacking going on for the election coming up.
You know, we're seeing rampant like fake accounts and stealing of IDs and it's crazy.
So more and more it's important that these app makers, end-to-end security on their apps and protecting their consumer base.
Correct, correct. And I mean, protecting, there can be multiple reasons for protecting apps.
It can be about protecting against hacks, but also protecting private data that you have in your apps.
That's the thing I hate. I mean, I've been telling people for years that I really like to see people go to jail for
you know when you hear things like
we put a text file on the internet, oops everyone's password
and you're just like really?
Yeah and I think what we really try to make
take away the excuse that it's hard to protect and it's complicated by having this service.
Yeah you just have to care.
Exactly.
There seems to be no penalty for blowing my identities with zoom around across the thing.
So it's good that you guys have this and you guys can make it simple for folks to build
their apps.
So you guys are here at CES, are you launching anything new?
Anything to see up here at the suite?
So I think the main highlight of this show is really on Protect My App, on protecting
code protection for mobile applications and IoT.
Of course, we also talk about the other products, but that would be the main highlight for the show.
All right. Sounds good then.
So come see these guys.
They're in the Westgate Hotel, which is north of LBCC.
So if you kind of park in that, you're going to be coming up here anyway.
And then they're on floor number 22,
so 2210. You can see VeraMetrix driving trust, keep your software secrets away from hackers,
protect your code and all that good stuff. So thanks for having us, Marv. We certainly
appreciate it. And check these guys out, folks. Thanks, Chris. Thanks. Thanks for coming.
And watch for continued coverage of CES 2020.
