Hi folks, Chris Voss here from thechrisvossshow.com, the Chris Voss Show.
Oh my gosh, we're at Cedia Expo in Denver, Colorado.
We are at the Vivint Smart Home booth.
You can find it, they got a big old sign sticking up the top, and you can find them at booth
523 here at the Cedia Show.
And we're interviewing Chris Ivey.
Chris, how you doing, buddy?
Doing great, Chris.
How are you?
Awesome sauce.
So tell us where to find Vivint on the interwebs first so people can look that up.
Yeah, so you can find us at Vivint.com.
Specifically for this channel, we have a landing page.
It's Vivint.com forward slash pro channel.
Awesome sauce.
So for those who don't know what you guys are and what you guys do, give us a rundown.
Yeah, so we're actually, this is our first time here at Cedia in Denver 2019.
We're launching a new pro channel program that we have developed for CI custom integrators.
The program's based around the concept of allowing them to go after a broader, bigger market
that maybe they can't touch today.
They leverage our full end-to-end ecosystem, all of our customer support, our products.
We actually support them with installation and provide them with a great revenue model for some RMR.
Awesome sauce.
So what are you launching here at Cedia?
What are the big things you guys are pushing?
Specifically, what we're most excited about this year is we've made a huge investment in Control 4,
a driver that we've written for them.
So primarily, Vivint has been the ecosystem of the home but we
see a lot of value of partnering with someone like control four now where we can be an extension of
them as a security component that operates with their ecosystem and you guys have a really cool
ecosystem of cameras you've got car monitors you've got panels that can take control everything
give us a rundown of some of the products you guys have
all integrated in your system.
Yeah, so we actually have our own ecosystem too.
So our dealers that are coming onto this Pro Channel
have a lot of options.
They can go up and downstream with our products.
So it could be as simple as a home security solution,
or a homeowner that doesn't want to spend a lot of money
on a home automation system can utilize our smart locks,
lights, thermostats.
We have our own smart app that ties that all into a single application.
The homeowner can control their home from their phone.
So, yeah, dealers could use this as both the smart home solution,
or like I said, they can use this as a security only and integrate with Control 4
and hopefully eventually some more central control systems out there.
And it's amazing all the different products you guys can take and add.
They've got the full features of IoT.
You know, the nice thing about your guys' system is people can buy everything in one package.
Like, you know, with the Chris Voss show, we send everything for review.
So we have 50,000, you know, one room is controlled by one company, another controlled by another.
You know, it's kind of a hodgepodge mess.
You guys bring it all into one ecosystem, one panel, one sort of app,
so that people can have all of your cameras together,
all of your different monitoring systems and everything else,
and be able to interact with them and control the home.
Yeah, so as we know, the world of connected devices is only going to continue to grow.
So does the complexity of that.
So homeowners that are looking to having smart home components
are still needing a way to connect them all together in a single elegant platform.
But even somebody that maybe dabbles in DIY, they still want to be able to rely on something
that's professionally installed and also supported on the back end.
So that's really what we're positioned well as a smart home as a service, that the homeowners
can have that ongoing support from us in a centralized ecosystem
that ties all that disconnected product into a product that all can communicate and work together now.
So consumers can just buy your product off the shelf and utilize it, right?
They cannot, actually.
Oh, okay. That was a good question.
All of our products are actually bought and installed through Vivint technicians.
We have several thousand well-trained technicians that covers 98% of every zip code in the country.
So we're able to provide a very,
I guess you'd call it, gosh.
White glove.
Yeah, we're able to provide them with a white glove,
predictive experience the homeowner can expect
that we can service ongoing.
So there's no guesswork, yeah.
Awesome sauce.
So this is great for providers, people that want to work on homes
probably pre-construction sort of arrangements and stuff where people like
I want the home to be built with some different specs to do IOT etc etc and
then the homeowners they get all the different packages and it's all one
company so they're not like they're not going through like me I have like 50
apps from 15 you know we review stuff so we have an excuse but but still it gets crazy because you're like which one controls
the which room so with them they can get the whole package and everything else that's a good point
yeah so because the way that vivid is built we innovate all of our own products we have our own
monitoring central station we have several thousand people on the phones that answer all the customer
support when a homeowner has an issue with their products or their
ecosystem they're not having to worry is it a hardware who did the hardware who
did the installation who does my monitoring Vivint actually takes all of
that into one single white glove service provider which again allows us to
provide a top-notch end-user experience of utilizing their smart home and how
long you guys been in business selling you long have you guys been doing this?
We've been in 20 years now, actually.
Wow.
Yep, 20 years.
Nice. So anything more we need to know about Vivint and what you guys are doing?
Yeah, so, I mean, just a little history on Vivint. We're, you know, 20 years in the business.
We just crossed over 1.4 million customers. We're 1.5, sorry, corrected on that, 1.5 customers.
I think we're about 13,000 employees. 1.5 sorry corrected on that 1.5 customers uh i think we're about 13 000 employees
uh 1.4 million sorry 1.4 million all right it's like a bidding system there we go do i hear 1.4
do i hear 1.5 yeah we just came off a really good uh a year so it's going up that fast that's what
it is that's what it is it's just it's moving that fast people hurry sign up what you can yeah so uh you guys been around for a long time you got a huge user base uh and then uh so you got
all these contractors all is it pretty much all over the u.s people can take advantage of the
system that's correct yeah so right now we do service in both the u.s and canada the pro channel
program that we're launching today is only available in the in the u.s though so so obviously
you guys want people coming by the booth
that are vendors, that are people that resell these services.
They come to booth 523.
I guess if I'm a consumer watching this video
and I want to put a Vivint system in my thing,
do I go to your website and you guys have a way
to look through the vendors that might be in my area?
Yeah, so we encourage you to go to our website
but also start supporting this custom installation channel that we're developing.
There's a lot of great companies here that can become that expert in the home for you guys to really tie in all of the expert products that are continually, like I said, going and connecting in your home.
Vivint is now part of that, and we want to ensure that you end up with the best solutions in your home.
So you can either directly to us at Vivint.com or search out any of our pro channel dealers here at cdf yeah and um i should plug my assistant here who's with me uh at the show
he uses your guys's system when we pulled up he's like i use these guys they're great he showed me
the whole panels all the different things he can let he can uh let his uh his uh cleaning lady in
he can know when his lawnmowers are coming by he can kind of know his kids are doing where they've
come by the house and stuff so it's really great and you can control products are cool yeah
so you got the you got the plug right there like right away he's like i love the system it works
great so anything more we need to know uh chris no i appreciate it yeah uh come by the booth you
see us again we're at 523 here at cd i'd love to go through our products the opportunity of our
business model for the Pro Channel.
And like I said, go to Vivint.com forward slash Pro Channel if you're a dealer or Vivint.com if you're an interested customer and seeing what Vivint can do for you today.
Sounds good.
And they've got a whole mess of people.
A beautiful booth.
You can walk around.
You can see all the different units they have that you can have put in your home, all the different monitoring.
It's pretty include uh what's the word inclusive i mean you guys got an auto auto monitor that plugs into the computer on
the autos yeah we're one of the few actually i think the only smart home solution provider today
that actually allows you to tie your smart home into your car so there's a port in your car you
plug a device in and now i can i get notified when my kids you know are speeding or hard braking or
you know or simple things like my car's been towed or my wife's been in an accident.
I get immediate notifications through the same Vivint app as the rest of my smart home.
And you're right.
For all the reviews we know, we haven't seen one that has that integrated with a whole ecosystem.
And so you guys really have the total package.
You guys have the fire alarms, the cameras, the monitoring.
You guys work with Nest, and then you guys also have your own.
Yeah, we integrate with both Google and Amazon for voice control.
So, yeah, we're adopted and have great relationships with both of those manufacturers.
Phillips Hughes is another manufacturer, but most of the lighting is through Z-Wave.
Okay.
Yep.
We're cool.
Awesome sauce.
Well, go ahead and check it out, guys.
You can come to the booth at 523 at Cedia.
You can also look for the big Vivint sign they have.
They have one of these big orange signs above their booth, and you can take and check that out as well.
Thanks for coming by.
Thank you, Chris.
Appreciate it.
Thanks to my aunts for being here.
