We're going to talk to her about her book and Insights in Life.
Her book is entitled, Why Didn't Anybody Ever Tell Me About This by Ms. Carolyn Manila Harper.
Boy, that might be a story for my life.
Why didn't anybody ever tell me about this?
Dern it.
Hindsight's always 2020, isn't it?
Carolyn is an author, mother, and lifelong learner whose personal experiences have shaped her message of perseverance, faith, and hope.
A graduate in the University of Oregon with both Bachelor,
of science and master of science degrees she draws from her journey as a mother of four and the challenges
of caring for a son with severe epilepsy her writing reflects resilience determination and a desire
to encourage others facing difficult seasons in life welcome the show caroline how are you oh i'm great
this is fun yeah this is fun we love it give us any sort of facebook websites whatever you want
people to find you on the end. I can get my book on Amazon. Right now, we're setting up some new
stuff. And I'm on Facebook, just regular Facebook under Carolyn Harper, mind people writing and
saying, Howdy. Sure. You have to start your emails out with Howdy, or she doesn't answer him,
though. No, I always wanted to be a newspaper publisher. I think it's just the feeling of getting the
word out and writing. Here I am. You've reached the pinnacle. It is hard to be published.
It is hard to write a book.
It's very challenging.
And that's why people, when they see people that are written a book, they go, wow.
And they go, they must be really smart.
Because it does take its perseverance.
I went to the university and I found out I was pretty smart.
I didn't know.
I told my whole life.
My son Jeff was a college student and he's a software engineer all that.
He comes home day, he says, mother, what are you going to do with the rest of your life?
You'll probably live another 30 years.
and he just went to his room.
And I'm like, 30 years.
I better get started doing some.
I was, I was 47 then.
That 30 years had come and gone.
That's what I say every day now at 58.
Chris,
we finally get your crap together and do something with your life.
I'll go to, I started at Lane Community,
and then you can transfer to the,
oh, we're doing good in football.
Oh.
Is that Ohio?
University of Ohio, you said?
Oh, Oregon.
You have Oregon.
Oregon.
I apologize.
They're number one.
They're number one and we're number two.
See, I never went to college, so I don't know.
We beat Boise State.
It was really a close case.
But is it really hard to beat Boise State?
I mean, just a bunch of cattle in a field somewhere and June Cuders.
Okay.
They just about beat them.
We tease the Idahoans and they're a private Idaho.
Yeah.
Nothing can be more fitting.
Let's get into this.
Give us a 30,000 over you.
what's in your side of your book?
What's inside my book?
Hmm.
Just an overview.
We'll start with that.
I wanted to find Jesus Christ and talk to him.
My son had epilepsy.
He just was weird.
Of course, they had him so drugged up as hard death.
And I had three boys.
He was the youngest.
And they had this clinic where I had to go to all these specialists with him,
drug him out of they examined him.
Then we had to go with the sacred heart.
And we sat around a table of doctors.
And the main doctor, he said, we have deduced that your son is hopeless.
You will have to send him to the institution.
Wow.
I'm telling you it was like a kick in a gut.
What was I, 25 years old?
Yeah.
I thought the world was a wonderful place.
I thought evil.
Take my baby boy and lock him up.
Why?
Because he had a lot of seizures and he wasn't very smart.
We don't use the word retardant.
He never fell on his head.
he was never real sick. I don't know why they, what happened? And nobody would tell me.
And I thought maybe they could help. I had believed in Jesus my whole life since I was a little
big kid. I just believed in him. And I got to, I got to find this Jesus guy. And I got to talk to him.
If you find it, we've been trying to find his PR agents so we can have him on the show too.
I found him. I found him. Oh, you did. That's why I named the book this.
I'll get you. I'll get the number for him afterwards and won't get him on the show.
None of the churches seem to know him.
They just want you to be good.
Don't cuss, don't smoke, don't drink.
I wanted to meet him.
I have a son with seizures all that time, driving crazy.
Uh-huh.
And I didn't want to be churchy, grass right, look right, don't wear makeup.
I began to seek Jesus, and I didn't know where to look.
I just started talking.
And I read a lot back then.
It was the 60s when they had books, books, books.
hippies wrote books and there was this big Jesus movement, the big revival.
And I started reading all them books and everything.
And then my mother-in-law gave me a book one day because she knew I loved the books and said,
the name of the book was I believe in miracles.
It was by Catherine Coleman.
Catherine Coleman was a faith healer.
And I wrote her letter and I said, my son has epilepsy and they won't go away.
He has a seizure every day.
And doctors can't help him.
They can't fix him.
There's no medication.
They call it now intractable epilepsy.
That just means it doesn't help.
You want me a letter said, I'll be praying for his healing.
It's complete.
So then, oh, I wrote back with him.
Then I saw Adna, a rich guard, big, Catherine Coleman, who's going to be in Portland.
And I thought, man, she's so close.
We're going up there.
I held it up for my kids.
I had two older boys and him and had a little baby girl.
So we're going to Portland, we're going to see Catherine Colman.
And they went, who the hell is she?
He didn't know.
And I got in a car and went, headed up there.
And this big place downtown Portland, the Wildetorian, Civic Auditorium.
Hundreds of thousands of people out there, and we drove up when we seen that crowd.
And I didn't know where in the park to my husband drive.
He finally parked.
We're getting out of the car.
He's carrying a couple of the kids.
He can't walk, carry him.
And I got ran over just in the intersection.
and this lady started running towards us.
There was a caravan of buses, Rayhan buses.
She's running.
The woman's running.
And I look up, she says, the Lord told me to give you these tickets.
Six tickets.
I just followed her.
We went right in the building, had reserve seats.
Yeah, we didn't have to go in that crowd when the door opened.
We could have gotten trampled.
So that was the first wonderful thing.
And we just sat there all day.
They sang all the preachers were up there from all the church.
churches in the in the boosters behind her and she preached she had a Bible and then she starts
calling out healings there's somebody up there in row 76 and being healed of a of a paralyzed
going to go leaping and dancing down he was healed all right and who was this was somebody you know
or that was healed run coolman I don't know I don't know the people that was healed oh do you know
if they're really healed or I don't know oh they were healed all right because
I read her book.
Every chapter was a miracle.
And they're healed one after another.
Then she preaches the gospel and many go up and get saved and delivered
drugs and alcohol and a bad thing.
That doesn't sound fun at all.
I love drugs and alcohol.
No, I'm just kidding.
People that are really getting destroyed by things.
And so I think I must have went forward to.
I couldn't stay very long because of my kids.
I wanted to get out there.
And then I learned that she was at Los Angeles every month.
I thought every month.
And I thought, we're going down there.
Me and Marty.
I never flown.
And my mom said, I'm going to.
We flew to Los Angeles.
And United Airlines, they had wheelchairs.
And the cab guy just threw a wheelchair in the trunk, and we used it off the next day.
He stole it, but we took it back.
And so when we got to the crowd of people the next day, they let the wheelchair people in the line going.
So that's a miracle right there because we didn't have a woodwork.
Oh, they brought in sick people from hospitals.
They were in beds on IVs.
Lots of sick people in there.
And a lot of them were healed.
We sat there all day and day.
And we went for a walk at lunchtime in the neighborhood.
I think we were in an area of gangs.
Because many people come out and look at us.
I had blonde hair.
And mom had blonde hair.
I think they wanted to kill us.
I said, let's get out of this neighborhood.
We want to be careful.
welcome and we stayed in a motel all night johnny carson come on he said did you feel that earthquake today
but anyway we flew home and there didn't seem no change in him he's the same and on that plane
on the plane coming home i'm sitting there looking out across a pacific ocean from californ to
oregon i said i've never seen such as he and i said lord i've come to a decision
and this doesn't matter if you heal my son or not.
I want to give my life to you, Lord.
I just decided.
And it's like he said, okay.
I guess got so happy and everything.
And then we landed and got out.
My husband come with the kids.
Hey, how are you doing?
And they picked up a puppy around the hill.
A puppy.
We had a German shepherd puppy.
Oh, wow.
Anyway, he jumped all over the place.
Well, and then that was a,
Sunday that all happened. Then next Sunday, I just had this idea. I think I need to go to church.
And the kids were thrown the ball. My husband, I called out back. I said, hey, I'm going to church.
Did she say church? Because we didn't go to. And I got in my car and I backed out to drive them. I go down to queue. I don't know where I'm going to. I go this way. Do I go that way? I don't know. What church?
It's like God was talking to me, but I wasn't used to it.
yet. The car drive itself, and I got down to fifth. It turned left. I'm going, going, going. I said, oh, yeah, there's a church down there. Every time I got an idea how to lead, it went wrong. So I got down, no, I'm not going to. I'm going home. I'm going to go home. And I get past this little building on my car. It comes in, park. I looked up, I said, oh, that's a church. It's just a little building. And something didn't want me to go in because I couldn't get the door open. I'm pushing. I'm pushing. I'm walking. And it.
something's pushing me back.
What's pushing?
Something I want me in this.
So I got to the door and I pushed it really hard and it went, bam, on the wall.
And all the people, they look like this crazy woman's coming in here.
And then I began to listen and the pastor said, why couldn't those disciples heal that boy with epilepsy?
I heard that word epilepsy, my hand shot up and he went, yes, sister.
And I said, there's something funny going on.
I said, but I'd just been to L.A. to see Catherine Coleman and get my son healed of epilepsy.
That whole church jumped up, came to me, laid hands, prayed in tongues.
See, this was a Pentecostal church I didn't know about.
And the church is true. I don't know their indifference.
And they prayed before me, and then he went to sit down.
I said, I'm going to listen to this sermon.
And this father had a boy that got thrown in the fire and thrown in the water like someone was trying to kill him.
And he was just like Marty, because Marty would always fall in things.
And the disciples didn't quite know how to get that out of him.
It was a toughie.
And Jesus said, you'd get out of him.
And the kid was healed.
He was fine.
And I thought, I got to find Jesus.
I got to find him.
And I began to figure out, where is Jesus?
And I met him that night.
I went back to church.
I went back to church.
I said, I'm going back.
I like this.
I listened to the sermon.
There's an altar call.
I went up, got on my knees, and you're supposed to repent of your sin.
And I always believed in him as my savior.
I said, Lord, I've tried to quit most of every sin I can think of,
but I can't quit drinking alcohol.
See, my husband liked alcohol.
So he brought home a six-pack every night at all.
And he'd open an honor, hand it to me, and I drink it.
And we got this drunken buzz going.
every single night.
But I had made a decision.
I'm quit drinking.
I'm a mother.
I can't have four children and be buzzed.
Yeah, that's true.
We'd go out on weekends.
We'd go to the bar.
We'd go to the nightclub.
We'd dance and hootique and I was a pretty woman back then and all the men like me and everything.
But I thought, I can't flirt with all these men are married.
Yeah.
But I couldn't quit.
Something had me.
Oh.
What I did drink no beer, we went to bed.
I'd see these nights.
nightmares. And it wasn't even I'm dreaming. These were like video dead. People blood. Their heads cut. It was scary. And then I get up and go drink a beer. Stop. I go sleep. And that kind of pissed me up. Made me mad. I said, what the hell? I want to quit drinking. So I'm up at the altar praying like this. And I felt a hand on my head. And I heard a voice say, I forgive you. And I felt something just ripped
loose and I felt so light.
I'm leaping around and singing and dancing.
Like I said, it was a Pentecostal church.
This was normal.
And everybody was happy.
And when I thought I'd better go home because it's getting late.
It's already 9, 30, 10 o'clock.
I got to get the kids to bed.
I don't know if my husband was passed out or put him to bed.
You know what I mean?
Oh, he didn't read that much, but I'm just saying.
And when I got in the car, that's when I said,
why didn't anybody ever tell me about this?
You can meet Jesus Christ and think it would touch you and save you and heal you.
Oh, you see.
And that's what I named my book because I heard about church and the Obit Witness came, the Mormons came, the Seventh Day Adventists came.
A lot of people talk to me about church, but nobody told me about Jesus because I don't guess they knew him.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Maybe Jesus is holding out on you, man.
No, then I decided I'm going to tell people, by golly, I got to.
Funny thing I thought was nobody's ever.
This has never happened to anybody ever.
I'm the one chosen to tell people.
It's happened to lots of people, but it's just I didn't know that time.
So I began to go to church there.
My whole family went, we was baptized.
We became Christians.
We were dedicated to God.
And he was paid for over and over and over.
Those pastors that pray and everybody paid for Marty's healing.
Because he had seizures.
Seizers, scare you.
You know, but it wasn't meant to be that he'd be healed.
Oh.
And we went through a horrible trial.
See, what happens when you become a Christian?
Now God is going to test you.
Mm, doing the testing thing.
I just want him healed.
Everybody's healed.
And one day the pastor preached a sermon on love.
And I thought, wow, love.
Wow, that sounds nice.
I don't really care about anything.
And I don't really care enough to care.
You know what I mean?
Real love.
Like he's,
I said, don't worry.
I'll teach you.
So this guy, he broke me.
He broke me to dirt.
He breaks your heart when your child is suffering and nobody will help him.
And they want to lock him up in a jail just because he's so different.
And God just had me hang in there.
He wrecked the house.
He threw things.
He broke things.
He pulled them.
bridge out and all the junk upon the floor and my boy Jeff used to drink Pepsi
Cola he'd throw those bottles out there and they'd go boom then he'd run and get the glass
he was either trying to hurt himself hurt me her and break up the house and I thought I don't care
I am not going to back down and then when a Donahue was on donnie and
Marty was over here in his chair having a seizure and Donahue was speaking about the glass ceiling and
about women's lives. I don't know why he cared. He's a guy, but he was talking, talking,
talking about him. I looked at Donnie, I looked at Marty, I looked at Donnie, and the Lord spoke.
He said, you have a choice. You can humble yourself and do this for me, and I will
exalt you in due time. Don't try to make yourself famous, but I said, yes, Lord, I'll do it.
You can turn the Lord down.
He asked you if you'll do something.
And the trial got worse and worse.
And he went to school for a time.
They mainstreamed him.
He used to go to a famous school for the retired called Probeck Center.
And they kicked him out there and put him in public school.
I said, why are you crazy people?
Because I knew most different, he can't stand all that stuff.
And it's autism.
Do you know no doctors ever told me your son has autism?
he's over here playing with his shoe legs he's always got to be and and he's just that way and he can't
and he can't walk and he can't walk anymore he's on this here food tube going on back and that that goes
in a hole in each stomach because he can't even swallow okay anyway so how long you've been
raising him and doing this work to to take care of him instead of trying to move the state
I'm 84 and he's 62.
So.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
Yeah, you've been out in a long time.
Well, he started having these seizures when he's got two and they gave up to him,
maybe the three or four by then.
But when it gave my life to Jesus, when we got in the heat of all the battles,
I don't want to disappoint the Lord Jesus Christ.
I told him I'd do it.
And then one day, Marty and I were on the floor wrestling because we wrestled by a lot
Because he was reckoned.
I can turn over the TV, said I'm on him.
I got he hands down.
And Jeff lived at home.
His brother was a big guy.
He'd help.
He finally moved out and moved to Silicon Valley.
Then I was kind of my own.
But I just got mad.
I said, I don't care if I do I.
I'm not going to give up my faith in Jesus Christ.
And that, come to find out, that's what the whole battle was all about.
The devil was trying to get me to give up my faith in Jesus Christ.
And I said, no, I will not.
And the funny thing happened.
It left.
He's never acted like that sin.
He got kicked out of school.
They couldn't handle him at school.
He's not in compliance.
And they called me.
They said, come get him.
Wow.
And he'd have those seizures a lot of times when he was rebelling.
But they said, come get him.
We can.
I went and got him.
He, by law, was supposed to go till he's 21.
Yeah.
There's like, to my understanding, this happened to my sister.
When they turn 18, at least in the state,
that we were in, they automatically become a war to the state, and you have to actually fight
as a caregiver or as a parent to get possession of them back. Did you have to do any of that,
or maybe they didn't have those. I had to become a legal guardian because he's been real sick
a few times, and I'm making decisions. You can't do that. He's 18. I made every decisions he's
ever made. So I went and got an attorney and they make people. That's good. So what do you hope
What do you hope people come away with when they read your book and the story of what you're doing through this journey?
So really Jesus Christ, and he really died on that cross for us, and he really rose again, and he lives, and he wants to help us.
It's real.
And for some reason, the churches, they don't tell you about him.
They talk about church.
Join the Mormons.
Join the Jehovah's Witnesses.
Join the seventh day, the seventh day, the minister's lady came to my house because my doctor sent her.
he was a and she had this pamphlet and it was a painting of Jesus Christ on that
pamphlet and she's reading scriptures see they teach you that he lived 2,000 years
ago but they don't teach you he's right now alive and I kept my finger on that
painting and I said I want to meet him see I want to meet that guy and she looked at me
like are you crazy and then the Mormon boys the Mormon boys are cute they came to
the house and they wanted to show a movie this was
before videos of the Mormon church.
And I said, fine, bring it in here.
Show us the movie.
And they had it on the wall.
And Marty had a seizure.
Marty fell down.
These two boys, you never seen two boys move so fast.
They grabbed that projector.
They ran out that front.
One guy fell down in the yard.
I said, but, but, but what do you do about seizures?
They're just out of there.
Wow.
I guess I can't be a Mormon now.
but it's just all this religion.
The Jehovah Witnesses that woman, I said, I don't want you here.
My mother didn't like you and I don't like you.
She's trying to shove my door and get in.
You can't come in.
Go away.
Wow.
They're kind of push you up there, aren't they?
Well, I don't know where he's at and where he's not.
All these things, he could be there.
I don't know.
We took the kids when they were young, my kids and then the grandkids,
and they'd start scuffling around at church.
I'd go to New Life Assembly of God.
I started going there.
And I said, Jesus is here.
You behave, pay attention.
When any two or three are gathered together, there is in the midst of them.
You go by scripture that you learn.
And I went to church for years and I kind of fizzled out when the pandemic came and I didn't want you to go.
Now I'm old and I can't walk and my kids won't have me drive.
I snuck in the car the other day and went to, they don't know.
I had, I died fine.
Yeah.
I didn't go down that one-way street, but I fixed it.
But anyway, I turned it.
I thought, oh, dude, what am I doing?
The arrows going.
Anyway, I figured it out.
I've been driving since I was about 15.
I learned to drive in a 56 Buick.
Oh, yeah, probably.
My mom and dad bought a brand new, boy, God, that car was pretty,
a beauty century, blue and white.
I was in high school.
I graduated in 59 from Springfield High School.
Anyway, we took driver's head back then.
He taught us.
But what am I talking about?
It lost my 70.
You were telling us about all the different things you've done with your life there and how it's important.
And you've really stuck by your son.
That's a hard battle.
My mother and father went to bat with my surreal palsy sister when she was young.
And they had to do the 18-year thing where they had to get custody back.
And it was a bit of a battle.
It was a real pain in the butt, too.
But so many of these children I've seen thrown away in these homes for disabled and people that they need some extra care with nurses and different things.
I have a sister that's also still in a care center.
She requires two to three people to lift her out of bed every morning, get her in her wheelchair and take her to the bathroom.
They have one of those hoia lifts, I think they're called.
Yeah, they're kind of like the things that you pull an engine out of a car when you lift the engine out.
And it lifts her.
So both your sisters?
Yeah, both my sisters.
Okay.
Yeah.
But my other sister, she had a pretty good life, but she got MS and her teens.
And then after the decades, by her 40s, she was disabled.
And then my other sister, she lived in this care center home that they had here in American Fork for special people that needed extra care.
And it was horrible.
You would go over there.
And it was just rooms full of babies.
crying and people crying and misery and loneliness and and you have a few people that are trying
to give care and love to people that, you know, as children, they kind of need some love and
attention.
Oh, yeah, yeah, they need love.
And I think of that, he's going to have a mother and a father and a family.
He's not going to be coming out of jail, the little guy looking out the window.
Where's my mommy?
And I just thought he deserved as normal life as possible.
And you want to know something funny?
In the late 60s, they had the civil rights movement and guess who shut down the institution
and kicked them out into the community.
So they made these group homes.
He never left one.
He never had a administration.
I'm not sure which one did it right now.
I remember my history.
I know the Reagan administration closed a lot of asylums and mental health clinics.
And there's people that were there that have written biographies.
You got to do them on your show.
And they were fine.
They weren't retarded.
They had something wrong to hire him.
And their parents just stuck them in there.
They lived their whole life.
Yeah.
A lot of times, you know, back then, we didn't really understand what autism was.
And there's, and how there's a spectrum of.
Some people can be slightly autistic and they can function pretty well.
And some people need a little more help.
But back then, they just take anybody with some of these things and just be like,
no, you're out.
See, I always wanted to know what as heck is wrong with him.
Is it any brain?
Where is it?
He can get my...
I'm trying to get...
It is.
To my understanding, epilepsy is a bit of brain damage or maybe brain formation issues.
They asked me, did he fall on his head real bad?
No, was he real sick?
No.
The only thing happened when he was 18 months old, he had his DPP booster, and they actually
have a compensation through the government.
Do you think your child was damaged by his jobs?
But he didn't fit any other picture.
He didn't get real sick, get high fever, didn't get nothing.
He just got seizures.
But he's going to get money the rest of your life, but you can't prove.
Yeah. I had one dog that has seizures and, of course, it was the last thing that took her in the end, but she would have them fairly often.
Did you say dog?
Yes, I had a dog that had seizures, yeah.
Yeah, I've seen them.
And it was a horrible thing. It was a horrible thing to see when they're in the seizure state. It's really alarming.
Yeah. And when they look like they're in pain.
He's probably had thousands of them.
Yeah, wow. So it's tough. It's tough. What's your advice?
you give to mothers or families that may be facing these sort of decisions, these sort of issues.
Do you have any advice you can give to them?
If you give your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, he empowers you.
See, it's his love in you.
It's his patience, his long-suffering, gentleness, kindness.
He's our fruit of the spirit.
He says, when you are weak, you are strong.
that one. It's just surrender
to him. And as you, you have
to surrender, it'll
break you. You can turn to drugs,
alcohol, go crazy.
But I just, I was
Christian, so I was going to turn Jesus.
And he taught me
how to love him. And
that's the most important thing.
That's the most important commandment love.
And it's not just
I love you. I just love you.
You lay down your life.
I mean, and people say you can
given up your whole life for your son. Not really. I've had another family. But your son,
your son is a part of your life. I can't. I'm astounded, but I shouldn't be that people are that
shallow to say something like that. Well, he did everything. We drug him to Disneyland. I didn't
let him, we took him to church and he got to enjoy everything we enjoy. He comes along. He is your life.
I have somebody, I have some people say that about my dogs. I carried my dogs through hospice care
twice now. One had leukemia, one had cancer. And it was hard. You had cancer? No, my dog.
Oh, your dog. Oh. Yeah. I had a dog that had cancer and another one that had leukemia.
And I carried them both through hospice care. And a lot of people were like, oh, you should put them down.
Oh, this is too much work. Like that comment you said, where people said, you didn't get a chance to
live your life. They were my life. And people would be just like, it's just a dog.
I'm like, you're just a person.
So shut up, but they would be dismissive.
But, you know, these people don't realize this is our family.
This is our life.
These are the people we love.
And I said too about my son.
My children have this compassion.
My grandchildren, I've got a bunch of them.
They grew up here.
I used to get my grandkids.
My daughter worked.
She was a male man.
She went to work.
Oh, really?
I had a baby.
I got another baby.
I had the kids here.
and I loved him and took care of him
and Marty, Marty got
problems, grandma taken care of Marty.
But they learned compassion. He's just a normal person.
Just love him and talk to him.
And then I got great grandchildren now.
If you can believe that, my oldest, he's nine.
He started fourth grade today.
Oh, he's so cute.
Oh, wow. Congratulations.
He's a girl. His name's Jackson.
I got Mason. She started second grade.
And Delaney started kindergarten.
called her Lainey.
And the little boy, Bridger, he calls Lainey.
Nini.
He can say the Lainey, he can say, Nini.
I said, Nini's gone to school.
But anyway, they help when we bathe Marty in the morning.
Their mom comes to help.
My daughter comes.
See, the guy that lived here and we were partners,
he died in December.
He just died and he can't help no more.
And so the family has to help.
That's unfortunate.
But it's good that he has you as a mom.
And my mom does the same thing.
She goes and sees my sister every other day.
She used to.
It's a really nice.
Mom, I want to see her.
Is she old like me?
She's 83.
And yeah, she used to go every day.
And in her age and she needs, when you're a caretaker,
it's the hardest thing you can probably do in life next to raising kids.
It was hard, but it's worth.
that because when Jesus said do this for me, you know what I started thinking?
Who is this guy?
Jesus asked me to do it for him.
Is this somebody?
I'm not sure.
I think when we get to heaven, God's going to say, come on up here.
And I'm going to find out, stranger things have happened.
Jesus Christ was born to two people, right?
Did they know him what she's a little boy?
And I'm thinking, who are you?
you're so special.
I know it's kind of stupid thing that way, but I do.
Yeah, it's your son.
Because he's not the lowest.
He might be up.
He might be pretty high.
Some of us get pretty high.
When he said the least in my bread,
then he puts us.
Anyway.
Yeah.
As you round out the show,
give people a final pitch out on where to pick up your book
and how they can learn more.
This book is on Amazon.
And you can find it, but it's it's it's a few years old.
So you might have to ask Alexis and the publisher is Zulon press, but I'm having it
republished and I'm going to have a new launch here pretty soon and it's probably a different cover.
All right.
Well, congratulations.
But you can get this one.
There's a picture on me on the back when I issued it was really good.
I went and I just saw it out in the phone book.
We used to have phone books and take your picture.
And I went over there and they do pictures for passports and stuff.
And he took the picture and had it ready that day.
I put it on him.
But I do things like that.
You just have to follow your heart.
Yeah, follow your heart.
Like they called me about my book here a few weeks ago and they loved it.
And I thought maybe it's time to go for it.
That's been sitting in the ground dormant like a seed.
Yeah, but you've got to market it.
And another thing I wanted to say, too,
there's lots of people evidently with children with autism.
Yeah, yeah.
We're finding it's quite large in the spectrum.
No, I think we just got better identifying it, I think.
I don't really know what's going on, but love your children,
keep them at home, let them have a family.
They're a blessing.
They will teach that whole family how to have compassion and love.
Little Bridger, he's two years old.
He's that cute as that guy you ever did so.
You ever heard of the name, Bridger?
He'll get the blankie and put on Marty's leg on the little kids.
And my little great-granddaughter say, help me with the stoma.
He's got this here stoma that has to be cleaned up every night.
And she goes in his belly.
And she got a little bitty hands up there.
She's putting tape.
You could be a nurse when you grow up.
I mean, you've ever heard of a kid seven years.
old, not afraid to touch him and help him.
And it's just such a touching.
And they're all like that.
They're just gentle, caring, loving.
And I think they must have learned it.
Probably from being around him.
You know when he has to go to the hospital every once in a while because he gets pneumonia,
because he inhales his food into his lungs.
Oh.
Sometimes we have to go up a time a year.
When we're walking down the halls and everything, I think he's glowing or something.
It could be warm up.
I think God's in him.
God's in him.
They can feel it.
Wow.
So as we round out the show, give people a final pitch out to pick up your book.
Tell them where they can find you on Facebook or, let's see, other places, any dot-coms, etc., etc.
You can find me on Amazon.
And my name and my title, you might have to talk to Alexa, but she is very helpful.
About these here mountains.
I just thought they'd be pretty on the front of the book.
You can see them.
You can see them.
They're this way.
They're about 67 miles.
I ask Google Maps.
There's 67 miles.
Usually they're all pure white in the winter.
There's three mountains there.
And they're named Faith, Hope, and Charity.
Christian missionaries named those back when they come here in the covered way.
I'm going to work.
I don't know what made me put them on there.
I made me think of God.
I love nature, all the little things in nature.
You think those are volcanoes.
And when you guys up there, we used to go up there just to look around.
It fields of lava.
And those have blown in their tops and made all this lava.
Can you imagine what God made in the earth?
And the Bible says in the last days, these volcanoes are going to rumble and it's going to be earthquakes and all kinds of crazy things.
And all these crazy things are happening.
So last days, we don't know what that means necessarily.
500 years could be tomorrow.
But Jesus, when he says we're going to hear this trumpet.
Jesus, he's coming.
You better be ready.
You better make sure you're saved.
Hmm.
You've ended how you saved.
Are you born again?
Because then he comes.
And all those who believe in Christ rise up, they're the church.
Let me just sit up here.
There's a movie.
There's a movie called Left Behind.
And then those in the graveyards go.
Huh.
Oh, like the, what do they call that thing?
Where they go up in the air, right, they're taking heaven?
They call it the...
Oh, that's just the rapture of the church.
Rapture.
The church is leaving.
But what's so interesting, I went to church and listened to many a sermon that when I got saved in.
Oh, boy, they taught the Bible.
There's coming after that seven years of tribulation.
And this earth is going to be hell.
You don't want to be here.
The Antichrist will be here.
He's going to rule.
Don't stay for the tribulation.
Don't do it.
And that's all in the Bible.
It kind of sounds like fun, though.
I know.
Drinking and fornicating.
Well, just think the church is going to be gone.
Every good Christian is going to be gone.
You know how they're persecuted.
As long as the rock bands are still here, it won't be in good shape.
Maybe some of them will be gone too.
But.
I don't know.
Yeah, maybe.
Maybe a striper.
Striper might, they'll probably lift it up.
They're always quoting the Bible.
When I first started going to church, that was a,
a heavy dose of them kind of sermons.
But God wanted me and my kids, my boys were teenagers and they had to listen to all that.
It freaked them out.
Thank you very much, Carolyn, for coming the show.
We really appreciate it.
And we really appreciate you sharing your inspiring story about your son, your motherhood,
and what a great matriarch you are.
He's just wonderful in these day and age.
We have people that are killing their kids and getting away Scott Free in 2026 and people loving it.
I got that one guy held that.
That's another story.
To see a mother really care and love being a great matriarch, I honor you and exemplify you.
I grew up with great matriarchs, women that were powerful but still feminine without having to be aggressive.
And there's something wonderful about it.
And I wish we could get more of that back.
But here we are.
So thank you, Carolyn, for me on the show.
We really appreciate it.
Yeah, I'll be watching you more than usual.
Please do.
How do I find you?
You can Chris Voss, one word, dot show.
One word, Chris Voss, one word, no spaces, and then dot show.
And you'll be able to find me.
And of course, you'll be able to find yourself because you'll be on it in three to five days when we put it the final version.
All right.
So will people be able to find me today?
They can find this live today.
Yeah, this live has gone out today.
But in three to five days, we'll have the final version.
So we'll have that up.
Watch for that.
Okay.
I think it's fun to see me on TV.
That's what we'll see.
All right.
Thank you much for Carolyn.
