You wish you had triceps like these don't you Michael?
I got pup arms bro, look at the forearms.
BLOW!
BLOW!
You know these stupid blood thinners makes my blood too fucking thin, I don't like that.
I don't think your blood should be this thin right?
Don't you want your blood thicker?
I don't even know.
BLOW! BLOW! BLOW! BLOW! BLOW!
I don't even know.
Blow, blow, blow, blow. Blow.
On this episode of The Commercial Break...
He always was. From the first time that I met him, he was my everything.
Eric's full name was Eric Vargo, and everybody called him Vargo.
We dated on and off since I was 19.
He was loving.
Like, just a goofball, and I miss him every time.
Mm.
Mm, that's really sad.
He was a bit of a romantic.
Yeah, he was a ladies' man.
He just got nibbling on my ear.
I'm like, yes, my god.
Oh my god.
Oh my god.
He's nibbling on your ear? He's nibbling on your ear?
He's nibbling on your ear, Teresa.
You fucking asshole.
Honestly.
The next episode of the Commercial Break starts now.
Yeah, boys!
Oh yeah, guys and kittens, welcome back to the Commercial Break.
I'm Brian Green. This is my dear friend and the co-host of this show, Chris and Joy Hoadley. Best of you, Chris. Best and kittens, welcome back to the commercial break. I'm Brian Green.
This is my dear friend and the co-host of this show, Chris and Joy Hoadley.
Best of you, Chris.
Best of you, Brian.
Best of you out there in the podcast universe.
A slew of news to talk about as well as a video to get to and an apology by Brian.
So that's all coming up in the next hour of the commercial break.
I am just reading that the Tomorrow Midland Festival organizers are probably wishing they were
living in yesterday country right now, because at least they still had a stage.
The multi-day fest in Belgium was set to kick off in just a few short days, which would
have been the last weekend as this, as you're listening to this, this would have been last
weekend.
A fire broke out Wednesday and took the entire stage with it, burning it down to scaffolding
from one end to the other.
Tons of videos are circulating online right now, capturing massive plumes of black smoke billowing
into the sky and flames quickly burning across the intricate stage. We've all seen that Tomorrowland
stage. That huge, complicate... Have you ever seen that? Yeah, I think so. Okay. Here, let me see if I can pull up one of the videos for you,
so you can look at maybe.
Jeez. Yeah.
Wow.
That's completely on fire.
This is one of the bigger stages in, here.
Oh yeah, it's huge.
One of the bigger stages in all of stage productions
is the Tomorrowland Festival.
If you haven't seen it,
you should go take a look at past Tomorrowland Festivals. It's very intricate. It's extraordinarily large,
especially given the fact that what they're going to do is put a picnic table with two
fucking CD players on it and play music all weekend long. I mean, honestly, I got nothing
against DJs. I think a lot of them are very good and I like some of the music. I like
the gay Raj, if you will, Chrissy. Gay Raj was my thing.
Um, but I mean, it's kind of a little silly
to put a stage together that big,
and then you're gonna have a small little dude
up in the middle of it.
Spending tunes.
Yeah, but there's always fire and a lot of visuals.
You know, you're, you know, there's...
You're tripping out.
You're tripping out, dude.
You're tripping out, man.
I'm fucked up, dude.
So, uh, so it doesn't look like
there will be a Tomorrowland, at least not with a stage, which is unfortunate for the probably
150,000 people that show up every year. That is one of the larger festivals out there,
Tomorrowland. So here's hoping insurance pays all the premiums. Okay. Also, Pete Davidson is going to be a dad.
We were just wondering the other day where Pete had gone.
We were just ruminating on his whereabouts.
Pete's preggers. And I love it. He's married to a, or he's seeing another incredibly beautiful
woman named Elise Hewitt. Pete's gearing up for his biggest role yet, as he announced.
Congratulations to Pete.
As reported, Pete and Elise were first linked back together
in March.
They took the relationship to the next step quickly,
obviously.
And now they are expecting their first baby.
Gosh, after like four months.
Oh, she's a model.
Of course she is.
Yeah.
She's not bad looking.
No.
No, you wouldn't kick her out of bed.
I mean, maybe you'd kick her out of bed.
You know, I used to have a friend, Paul, that guy used to say,
you're scared of pussy?
He used to say, show me a hot girl and I'll show you a guy who's sick of fucking her.
Yeah.
And I was like, I don't believe that, Paul.
But now I believe it. Now I
believe it. Pete's been through a few of them. Pete's been through all of them, actually.
Congratulations to you, Pete.
He has made the rounds.
Yes, but now, thank God, you are settling down, Pete, for the love of all that is holy. Let us
all settle down just a little bit. All right, so that's that. That's like timely topical news
that's only a week old at this point. So, there you go.
That's the newest you're going to get.
That's the newest, latest and greatest.
From us.
The best you're going to get.
We're on vacation, so fuck you.
Even we need a vacation.
Here's a commercial break news.
Let's break it down for you.
In case you haven't been in tune with the last couple of weeks
and like little bits and bobs that we've been dropping,
we're not very good at this.
So I'm going to try and put it all in one shot.
In the next month,
and we'll give you an exact date here very shortly.
In the next month,
we are gonna be doing our very first merch drop.
We've worked long and hard on this.
And by long and hard,
I mean someone else worked long and hard on this.
And Astrid.
And showed us the proofs.
And showed us the proofs.
That's right.
And now we have some coming so we can put it on
and check it out.
But it's good quality.
It is.
It's very, yeah, it's really good.
Like we've been through a lot of iterations of a merch drop
thinking we're going to do it, trying to do it,
working with different companies and different designers.
This is the best of the breed, no doubt about it.
The quality is great. The designs are fantastic. And we're going to do our very first merch drop limited.
So it's like a two week window. You can either buy it then, or you don't buy it. You buy
it or you don't buy it. And then we will never have that particular merch again. It's going
to be five-
I like that limited edition.
I agree. Five or six items. It is likely we will do an exclusive sticker that goes along with that
item. So you buy the item, you get the sticker only if you do it. And that sticker will only
be available to this merch drop also. So you either buy it or you don't either get it or you
don't. That's not to say, I'm not trying to like poke you in the eye and say, nanny, nanny, boo boo,
you have to buy it. I am telling you, nanny, nanny, boo boo, you have to buy it.
Nanny, nanny, boo boo. I haven't heard that in a while. Nanny, nanny, boo boo, you have to buy it. Um. Nanny, nanny, boo boo.
I haven't heard that in a while.
Nanny, nanny, boo boo.
I like that.
But, uh, we would love it if you would buy the merch.
I'd love to say this goes to some good cause.
We're helping somebody out.
It's feeding some children somewhere, but it's not.
It's likely going to make us no money either.
But what it does do is it gives us the ability to do future merch drops because
that's how everything works these days.
It's all transactional.
You do a test run.
If it works, it works.
If it doesn't, it's going to be a long time before anybody's going to ask you to do it again.
So it's going to be limited merch.
It's going to be for a limited time.
And we would love it if you're so inclined to buy some commercial break merch.
I'm going to be wearing it for sure're so inclined to buy some commercial break merch.
I'm going to be wearing it for sure.
I'm definitely buying some.
There's going to be some Christmas presents.
There's going to be a lot of Christmas presents for people who don't even like the commercial break.
Yeah, people who've never heard it.
They're going to get commercial break stuff.
I'm going to get my dad a piggy fronting shirt.
A good t-shirt's a good t-shirt.
A good hat is a good hat, no matter what.
Some hoodies, some sweaters, t-shirts, long
sleeve and short hats.
And then if that all goes well, the big plan is
that the 12 days of TCB will include a new piece
of merch every day that you can buy during that
14 day window.
That is really exciting to me because that we're already getting pretty creative.
14 day window?
Yeah, it's going to be well, yes, because by the time it's all said and done,
I've actually counted the amount of days this time, it'll be 14 episodes in a row.
So, you know, we call it the 12 days of TCB.
It was 23 days last month, 23 days in a row of commercial break episodes.
Last year.
Yeah, last year.
This year it'll be 14 days in a row of commercial break episodes.
So there'll be a two week window you can buy that stuff.
So stay tuned.
Secondly, but not any less important to you, the listener.
Chrissy and I have thought long and hard about our next stunt, the last one being TCB's Endless
Day.
We will not be repeating that this year, at least not.
Yes, we will.
It'll be called the 12 Days of TCB.
Yeah, we'll just be in days, not in hours.
Days, not in hours.
We love when we break down videos around here.
It's a lot of fun for us.
And we thought, why not take that to the next level and do a long video, a movie.
Okay, what movie are we gonna do?
Well, there's lots of people that do this
out there on the internet.
There's how, you know, how was this made?
Mystery Science Theater 3000,
which they haven't had a new season in a while,
but you get it, there's a lot of people who do this.
We wanna do something original.
So we have picked probably the least known,
worst actor, actress, director, producer,
writer combination you could find.
We've probably found the worst movie ever made
and we are gonna watch it beginning to end.
And I'm only gonna give you one hint about this
because I haven't decided on which one of these movies
we're gonna do yet, but Kenny Copeland is the writer, Kenny Copeland, the preacher,
the pastor, the televangelist that we have made fun of for so long here. He has made
a series of movies. He made one 20 years ago. He made a couple in the last 10 years.
We reviewed the one with Eric Roberts, right?
We talked about it.
Or was that a clip of it?
Yeah, we reviewed a clip of it. And that about it, yeah. We reviewed a clip of it.
And that's on the table.
I think that might end up being the one that we do.
Let's see how it all goes.
But you can't stream that one.
You have to buy it on used DVD.
I have to go find it on used DVD,
which I did, by the way.
And so I'm gonna get it.
We'll see if it still works.
And that might be the one, maybe,
if I can manage to make it all. I don't
know where the fuck you get a DVD player. I mean, who's going to, somebody's got a loan
as a DVD player.
I have a DVD player.
Oh, you do? Okay. Does it have a good remote?
It does.
You can press stop and start pretty quickly.
Yeah.
Okay.
I mean, I haven't used it in a while.
Yeah. We might have to use yours. Let's make sure it works.
Okay.
Okay. Sounds good. So TCB minus the long Ballyhoo dream of Chrissy and I to have a streaming service is going
to come to life on a day in August, a very special day, when we are going to stream Chrissy
and I talking about the movie while the movie is playing.
We're going to stream it on Twitch and YouTube, if we can
make that work.
And we're going to break it down and we hope that you join us.
We're really excited about this.
If it works out, maybe we'll do this again.
So TCB minus and the Burt merch drop, both coming in August.
Stay tuned.
I just wanted to let you know.
What about BOP or what was the other service that we were going to use?
Twitching and Bopping or what? Oh, yeah, yeah,op, bop, bop, bop, bop.
Oh, TC bop, bop.
TCB bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop,
bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop,
bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop Sweet little lady with a sweet surprise. I read her audio biography.
Tony Kittane?
No, that's not Tony Kittane.
That's in the Cherry Pie video.
It's Bobby Brown, I think is her name.
I read her biography.
The girl from the Cherry Pie video had an entire autobiography?
It's pretty fascinating.
She dated or was with a lot of rockers from that area.
Well, give me the Cliff Notes.
Oh, I read it like six years ago.
One thing you can remember that was kind of outrageous and crazy?
Well, she dated, she was dating Tommy Lee.
Okay.
Huge cock.
And then he met Pamela Anderson and ditched her.
Yeah, okay.
That's how it kind of starts off.
I remember that.
She dated like Dave Navarro, she had a drug problem.
But as most of the people who were rock and rollers
in the eighties.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I'll go back, it's on my Kindle.
I'll go back and take a look.
There's a series of movies called like
how to ruin civilization or something like that.
I forget that.
Yes, no. Do you know what I'm talking about?
About the punk.
The, well, first about the punk
and then they do this part two about the 80s hair bands.
And I think there might even be a part three,
the decline of Western civilization.
And so there's a service that you can subscribe to
and maybe I'll put a link to it if I can, let me see.
I'll, if there's a check in the show notes,
if you want to check this out, I'll put the link up there.
You can get an app, connect your library card to it,
and then you have access to tens of thousands
of movies streaming.
And you rent it, and it gives you like 48 hours to watch it,
and then you can't watch it again for a month.
And it's free, it's just because libraries
all across the country have signed up.
You just need a library card, right?
Yeah, so I watched the decline of civilization one
in part two.
Part two is more fascinating than part one,
though part one is really good.
Why is it fascinating?
It's fascinating because it focuses on the 80s hairband
scene in like 1985.
In California.
It's wild.
All over the, yeah, in LA, but they go all over the,
they talk to a lot of different bands.
You do not know how many teenagers of that era
were convinced, thoroughly convinced
that they were the next pair band.
I mean, I'm sure this is not any different in any other age.
I thought I was gonna be the next Eddie Vedder.
Right, right, right.
And if you would have asked me back then,
I would have had blind faith that that would have happened.
I mean, if you really would have gotten inside of my head,
blind faith that would happen.
But these kids are delusional. I mean, delusional
and high, right?
I've seen parts of it.
Some of the stories that are told are just fucking wild. That was such a wild time.
I know. And there's like that one guy that died of alcoholism.
Yeah.
There's a few of them, maybe.
Well, who's the guy?
He's in the pool. there's like a pool scene,
he's got a raft with a bottle of booze and.
Just nuts.
I mean, Nikki Sixx was fucking pumping the shit.
I read his biography too.
Yeah, and who's the guy from Poison?
Who's the dude from Poison?
Ricky, not Ricky.
Oh.
Do you know what I'm talking about?
Yeah.
Yeah, the short guy with the spiky hair. Yeah.
He was, I read a story one time about that somebody, or no, maybe it was a video.
Yeah, it was a video that somebody put together.
It was a kid who lived with him for a period of time right after poison was like, they
saw their heyday and then they were kind of splitting up and going their separate ways
because they were creatively having differences.
And he was explaining that that guy, who is,
I wanna make, we should say his name.
Yeah, Brett Michaels was kind of going his own way, right?
Yeah.
Poison band members, Ricky Rocket.
Ricky Rocket.
No, no, Cece DeVille.
Cece DeVille.
Oh, Cece DeVille, yeah.
Ricky Rocket was another one, but Cece DeVille.
Cece DeVille is the guitar player, him and Brett Michaels, you know, they were really kind of brothers in arms,
but then they started to go their separate ways.
Things were kind of taking a turn for the scene altogether.
They really only had two or three years of like super fame
and then things were falling off.
So everyone was telling them, go take a break,
do your own thing.
And he was trying to get his own band together.
So he hired this kid, the kid, 18 years old,
told him that he, like the kid lived in Iowa and he had seen him play
one day at a show at a local place and he said, come on I'm starting a band and
I, you know, you're great on guitar and I love your vibe. And he essentially went
to Cece's house and lived there for like six months while Cece did nothing but
get fucked up on cocaine,
grab burritos from the place down the street
and become increasingly paranoid and weird.
Right?
And the way that this kid told this story,
you really, it painted a picture.
It painted a picture of like just a,
like things just falling apart to Batra.
People were like coming to Cece's house
and taking the paintings off the wall,
like stealing it right under his nose,
taking his cars, you know, never returned.
He's just so fucked up, he couldn't even see straight.
Right?
And that was the go-go 80s for you, Chrissy.
It was, it was.
And the go-go 90s and the go-go 2000s for Brian.
You, and if you've been there,
then you can kind of under, like-
There's a show on, I just watched it a little while back.
It might be on Paramount, about
like the 80s bands of that time.
Oh really?
It was like a three part or something.
I'll look it up.
Listen to two, it was very fascinating and it shows, yeah, at the very end how literally
everybody thought they were.
And then things changed, then grunge happened.
Well no, what happened, what happened was Guns N' Roses' appetite for destruction.
That is what happened.
That is the moment in my mind,
as a kid who was like just becoming really musically aware
at the time, super tuned into MTV and the local radio
and all that other stuff, and had been for a long time.
What happened to me was I instantaneously,
I'd never really loved hair rock,
but I would listen to the Poison songs and Motley Crue. Yeah, Motley Crue, right.
Yeah, Aerosmith wasn't a hair band, but they kind of-
Went that way for a bit.
Yeah, and they had some great albums
and some of that music still holds up today,
but the rest of those hair bands,
I just never really liked them.
They wasn't my thing.
I would much rather listen to like Third Base
or Public Enemy or something like that.
Yeah, I was getting into that too.
Yeah, and run DMC, Beastie Boys.
But then Guns N' Roses put out Appetite for Destruction in 88.
Incredible.
And fucking A, I didn't want to listen to anything else.
That album, I had to buy three of those cassettes
because I wore them out.
I was listening to them so much.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So this coming from a kid who bought Huey Lewis and the News
as one of his first CDs.
There you go.
Well, Huey Lewis.
Please, tell me Huey Lewis ain't one of the greatest pop R&E.
I know.
Poor Huey.
He's lost his hearing, right?
What an affliction to have if you're like, you know.
Huey Lewis Live at the Palladium.
I think it's live at the Palladium,
which is one of the only like live concerts
shot professionally of Huey Lewis in the news
with the full horn section behind him.
Yeah, it was so good.
Fuck man, that's like, if you don't bop your head to that,
then you're just not alive.
I mean, you're not.
Didn't he and Gwyneth Paltrow do a movie together?
Maybe.
Maybe.
I think so.
Maybe. I think I think so.
Maybe.
I think I'm right.
Yeah.
But he's also, you know, the soundtrack for Back to the Future.
Soundtrack for Back to the Future.
Soundtrack for, what's the movie with Christian Bale, the murder movie?
Oh, oh, oh.
American...
Psycho.
Psycho.
American Psycho.
Huey Lewis in the news.
That's the soundtrack for that movie?
Yes, it is. He loves American, the psycho... Loves Huey Lewis in the news. That's the soundtrack for that movie? Yes, it is.
He loves American Psycho.
Loves Huey Lewis.
Loves Huey Lewis.
He murders to Huey Lewis.
And he talks about how Huey Lewis
is the greatest American rock band of all time.
I haven't seen that movie in a while.
Yeah, it takes on a whole different connotation.
Like when, you know, back to the future,
American Psycho, but either way,
the music is fantastic.
But his music was great.
Yeah.
I had a wild musical taste.
It varied greatly.
But when Appetite for Destruction came out, fucking A, right.
Appetite for Destruction came out and then Master of Puppets from Metallica.
And just forget about it.
It was a, it was a one-two punch.
And then shortly after that, 91, you know, they're playing Nevermind.
And when Nevermind comes out, I didn't see a hairband since
until Bret Michaels showed up on Rock of Love.
Which, I remember my sister and I watching that.
Everybody watched Rock of Love.
It was so good at the time.
It was so good.
It was so good.
What's the name?
What was the girl's name?
Oh, I don't even know.
She had her own spinoff.
Yeah, she had her own spinoff.
Yeah.
She was great too. We actually watched two episodes of her...
We did.
Daisy of Love.
Daisy.
Yes.
Not Daisy Fuentes, who was another MTV house of fashion.
Oh my God, Daisy Fuentes. Daisy Fuentes.
She's still doing really well. I saw it. I was watching one of my real estate shows where they're, you know, buy this, sell
that, whatever.
And-
Oh, she's a real estate girl?
No, it was her house.
Oh, it was?
They were selling her house or selling her house, something.
If you would ask me-
She looks great.
For a seven-year period there, who for me was the most beautiful woman on earth, Dezee
Fuentes.
Yeah, she was amazing.
Yeah.
She still looks great.
And she's Latina, isn't she? Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
It's all starting to make sense now, kids.
That's right.
Think about it.
It's all starting to make sense.
Your formative years.
My formative years, I was formulating all over Daisy Fuentes.
Let's just put it this way.
A lot of 21, a lot of EPMs over Daisy Fuentes.
You got in your 21?
Oh, just 21. Like in two days. Yeah. I was a kid. That's the thing that I look
forward to least about raising boys is that like 10-year period of let's have sex with the,
you know, the door jam. Let's fuck anything that moves.
It's just boys.
It's what we go through.
I'm sorry.
You like women or you like men or you like whatever.
It's just one of those things.
God blesses you with a-
Hormones are real.
Yeah, with a raging case of hormones.
All right.
Let's take a break.
When we get back, I'm going to apologize and we're going to fix something made wrong
by Brian just a short week ago.
All right. We'll be back.

Follow and listen to Fly on the Wall everywhere you get your podcasts.
Yeah, Chrissy found it. It's nothing but a good time.
Yep.
Paramount Plus.
Three part docu-series.
Three part docu-series about the hair bands of the 80s.
It's interesting.
Okay, I'm going to watch it while I'm editing tonight.
All right, apologies from Brian.
If you don't mind, Chrissy, a mea copa from me.
A couple of weeks ago we did a video on Teresa Caputo because we believe, we think, there's
going to be a piece of merch with piggy fronting on it. We don't know 100% like you will when the
merch drops. We think we know, but we don't know for sure. But piggy fronting will be one of the
options we believe on some of the merch that you can get piggy fronting on.
So I said, let's go back and review a Teresa Caputo video
because we hadn't done one in a while.
And I thought that I got a video where Dr. Oz
spent an episode talking about Teresa Caputo's powers
and testing them through brain imaging.
Now, what we reviewed, that episode was referred to,
but it was not the actual episode.
Well, I found the episode where they did the brain imaging and I'd like to say, I'm sorry
I didn't have it available back then and make it available to ourselves now.
I should probably-
I accepted.
Apology accepted.
Thank you.
I appreciate it, Chrissy.
So, here it is.
Teresa Caputo getting scanned and let's see what kind of wordsmithing they do here to
make this make sense.
So what do we want to accomplish today?
You know, I'm not that kind of person
that I need to know how things work.
She's nervous.
Yeah, she's nervous.
I'm not that kind of person where I actually need
to understand whether or not I'm full of shit.
Oh my God.
If I had these powers, I would have done this years ago.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
But now she's just coming up.
She didn't come up with this idea, by the way.
I think Dr. Oz came up with this idea.
But I know that my brain just doesn't work
like everyone else is.
Oh, we know too.
Oh, we're well aware.
The things that I say and the things that I do
is prompted by spirit.
And I think it's hard for people to understand.
The doctor is looking at her like, mm-hmm.
What's the guy's name? Michael something?
It's like Anon or Amon.
Michael Amon or Michael Anon.
He's a world renowned.
He is. I've read a couple of his books, actually.
Yes.
They're interesting. He came up with this scanning.
Yeah, this type of scanning that checks which part of your brain is doing what when.
And he's an older gentleman,
when he was on the show last time, like with the last episode.
With Oz.
Yeah, what all he said was that her prefrontal cortex
was overactive when she was doing these readings.
Chrissy and I did a little bit of chat GPTing
to figure out that your brain does the same thing
when it's lying.
So he's not really, let's just listen to it. Yeah, he's just giving the facts. Yeah, he's giving the facts. of chad GPT-ing to figure out that your brain does the same thing when it's lying.
So he's not really, let's just listen to it.
Yeah, he's just giving the facts.
Yeah, he's giving the facts.
He can't interpret exactly what's going on in someone's brain.
I understand what I do.
It just happens.
I can't explain it.
And everyone's like, well, there's no scientific proof.
So I wanted to see some type of scientific proof to show that my brain does work a little differently.
What we're going to do is work.
Oh my God.
Just that her brain works different doesn't mean their spirit.
Doesn't mean anything.
Yeah.
People who are autistic or neurodivergent, their brains work differently.
Everybody's brain is different.
I guarantee if you scan my brain, it'd be working differently.
There'd probably be like a big couple patches in the middle.
Dark matter.
It'd be like a magic mushroom growing from one side of it. Ayahuasca dripping out of my prefrontal
cortex. I measure what goes on in your brain in sort of a normal state and then when you're
reading the quantitative EEG, that's sort of the primary one we're going to do today.
It looks an electrical act.
Okay, okay, uh-huh. Like she understands any of it. Uh-huh, uh-huh, gotcha, alright.
As long as you can figure out that I'm not lying. Okay, uh.
And I think it would be really interesting to do.
Because I know something happens.
She's trying to convince him. Like she tries to convince everybody else that something is magic about her.
I know things are happening, but I always say it, I am dumb as...
He is not convinced.
It's fake.
This is the look of... this is the look my dad used to give me when I was lying to him.
Uh-huh.
And, yeah, we've all seen that.
Your brows are furrowed.
Yeah, your brows are furrowed, your lips are pursed a little bit you squint your eyes smile
Yeah, because you're like, are you really trying to get that one over on me the Epstein files what?
They disappeared what?
The doorknob my brain doesn't retain knowledge. I just know things. I don't know why Daniel
Amen is his name. Okay. Yeah. Look on the scan. Okay.
Okay, so let's go.
He just showed her up.
He's like, oh, okay, okay.
Let's say, congratulations.
Okay, great.
Check it out.
With Teresa.
He had a thing on the back,
in the back of his office that said,
wear a helmet, exclamation point.
And she is.
She is wearing a helmet, yes.
She's literally taking his advice minute by minute.
Okay, so let's go.
Okay, great.
Check it out.
With Teresa, we're actually measuring the moment by moment activity in her brain.
So what I'm going to do today is read Teresa's brain while she reads spirit.
Thanks, Jesus.
While she reads spirit.
How much did you get paid to do this, Danielle?
Come on.
We're going to put a cap on your head and insert some gel.
Oh, God.
Okay.
Oh, God.
This isn't actually...
Oh, mess up my hair.
Yeah.
I better take the electrodes out of my brain.
Ready?
Yeah.
So, this is how we're going to measure it.
The music.
Yeah, I know.
It's like it's all very... It's very, it's a comedy from the 1940s.
The electrical activity in your brain.
Okay.
And in your cap, there's 20 electrodes.
Oh my God.
This is how Teresa should look all day, all night.
So weird.
I can't get electrocuted, right?
Yeah, they're going to put you on their electrocute. Yeah, he's like, I don't get electrocuted right? Oh Yeah
Yeah, he's like, I don't hear that one every time
Now what she's gonna do is put gel on each of those holes or about time of them. Oh
Oh my god. Oh my god. There's like my hair. Oh my god
Oh my god, what do you think was going to happen?
I'm piggy-fronting, you're piggy-fronting gel all over me.
I think, doesn't this interrupt the flow of her spiriting or whatever?
There's a lot of gel in my hair.
I don't mind putting on this cap, but this gel is disgusting.
This is...
Oh my God, that feels so weird.
The metal has to get a good connection with your scalp,
and the gel...
He's trying to look at how much gel they're putting in her hair.
Just to get through the hair.
Yes, that's exactly right.
That's what happens when you have a helmet for hair,
literally, Teresa.
Connects the metal to your scalp. Jesus. So you're gonna have a helmet for hair, literally, Teresa. It connects the metal to your scalp.
Jesus.
You're going to have a lot of goop in your hair.
Goop in my hair?
I mean, anything in the name of science.
We're going to have somebody come.
She's giving commentary, so is this like on her show that she's showing this?
I thought it was Dr. Oz, because that's what I googled. And you're going to do a reading.
Okay.
It's all going to be good.
Well, like, I don't know, I feel like-
Look, she's got clips on her ears.
And it looks like she had a traumatic brain injury, no offense.
I feel like something happened to you,
and I felt like you were like a miracle.
Doctors feel that you should have died,
or you shouldn't be here, and here you are!
No disabilities, no ailments, and you're perfect.
I did when I was younger.
I had a febrile seizure, and I choked on something.
Believe me, I died.
You died, and then came back?
How do you connect?
Because I keep getting a pain on the left side of my brain,
the left side of the front of my head.
It's so strong right now.
This is crazy.
My stepfather had a stroke.
My stepfather had a stroke?
Oh my god.
OK.
I think that's making a little bit of a leap.
And by the way, I have to tell
you this. I don't know what the exact statistic is. Let's see here. There is a statistic out
there that a lot of natural births, a lot of them don't go according to plan. It's not
but a small number and having been through it, it can happen and it does happen all the time. It's not particularly abnormal. A febrile
stroke, I think a febrile stroke has to do with a fever actually, not having to do with
choking. But I don't know, maybe a febrile seizure, excuse me, I think is what they say
when your temperature raises really high and then you have a, and that's not unusual for
a child by the way.
On the left side of his brain and had a portion of his brain taken out.
Had a portion of his brain taken out?
Geez, how does that even work?
I didn't know they still did lobotomies.
What?
How do you connect with the V name?
Vargo.
He says he was your everything?
Yes. I don't believe this. I don't believe this.
Yeah, I would prefer that it would just be a random person instead of this all set up.
Yeah, this is all set up and there's a lot of editing going on here.
They're not showing the entire conversation.
He was, um, the love of my life passed away.
He always was. From the love of my life passed away.
He always was. From the first time that I met him, he was my everything.
Eric's full name was Eric Vargo, and everybody called him Vargo. We dated on and off since I was 19.
He was loving, like, treatin', just a goofball, and I miss him every time.
Mm.
Mm.
That's really sad.
Yeah.
He was a bit of a romantic.
Yeah, he was a ladies' man.
He just got nibbling on my ear, I'm like, oh my God!
Oh my God!
He's nibbling on your ear?
He's nibbling on your ear, Theresa.
You fucking asshole, honestly. Oh my God, he's nibbling on your ear, Teresa. You fucking asshole.
Honestly.
Oh my god.
The love of her life is dead and you're making shit up.
The love of her life is nibbling on your ear?
I thought you said you don't feel physical things.
So when he do that, I'm like, what is that?
Who does that?
What is that? Who does that? What is that?
Who does that?
Look at the doctor.
The doctor's like, you're taking it way too far, Teresa.
And he's like, she'll know it's me.
Eric and I had a great physical chemistry, so him nibbling on her ear was a huge validate.
So him fucking some other chicks was perfectly acceptable.
We had a great physical chemistry.
He was with a lot of other women.
I was like, he's here. Okay.
Okay.
So, he asked me for you to close your eyes
because he wanted you to feel him.
So I don't know if you saw him or if you saw colors.
I saw colors in the beginning.
Perfect.
It was hard for me to close my eyes at first, but as it went on, I just, all of the good memories.
That was him.
He gave you a piece of him.
And did you actually feel your heartbeat?
Yes.
Know that that was his soul that was helping your heart to beat.
And I saw it.
Pfft.
Yeah. Oh my god. He took a break from nibbling the ear.
Yeah, he's not nibbling the ear.
Now he's helping your heartbeat.
Yeah, knowing that, no, that's him helping your heartbeat.
...his thumbprint on your heart.
So know that through everything that you do...
She is literally making shit up as she goes along.
...his memories will live on within your heart.
So know that when you were feeling-
Yeah, and I have to say, you know, through all of this,
she, you know, these people are looking for something
and she's providing that.
Of course.
And she's saying, she always makes everybody feel better,
I guess, you know what I mean?
Like there's never an instance where she's like,
yeah, you really fucked up.
And the spirit's pissed at you.
Well, yeah, no, that's true.
She never goes to a place where it's like, you know, you-
It's more like everything's okay.
You murdered your mom.
I love you, yeah.
Obviously, but that to me lends less credibility
to what's going on because, you know,
real life is not like that.
But yes, but that is what Teresa Caputo is,
I think, at her base nature,
is a woman who fabricates things
in an effort to manipulate other people's feelings
to be more optimistic,
positive, I don't know, gentle about a great loss
in their lives.
Some, and I bet that's how she justifies what she does
to herself.
She probably justifies it at night when she goes to sleep
saying, at least I'm helping people out,
but I have to imagine that there is some kind of damage that this causes long term to a
believer who really, really, really wants to believe that someone, I am not saying.
Well, again, as we've said, there's a lot of people out there and a lot of them aren't
well.
Yes, it's true.
And I can't imagine that through all the years, all the readings, all the things that she
has done for people, that there wouldn't be somebody along the way that was like, no,
no, no, no, wait, keep talking.
Wait, yes, I can't imagine all of them.
I want to keep talking.
Yes, every single person.
I want to talk to them again.
Yes.
If somebody I had lost.
You have the connection.
Correct.
And that's the part where I think this is like, that's one of the things I think could
be really detrimental about this is if Teresa is the person, if Teresa is the cell phone, which gets you connected again to the one that you care about so much
that you just won't answer your phone call, aren't you doing everything you can to get back,
to get that cell phone in your hands again?
Yes.
Do I believe that there are dimensions and planes and energies outside of our understanding?
A thousand percent. I believe it in my core.
I just don't think-
Not ones that are nibbling ears.
Yes, that's it.
I don't believe that Teresa's getting her ear nibbled
by spirit.
So weird.
Heartbeat, know that that was his soul,
why it became stronger.
And I felt him wrap himself around you.
So if you felt warm or you felt a chill,
you felt something while you were on the floor.
Yeah, warm or a chill.
Either you were cold or you were hot, somewhere in between.
Maybe you didn't feel anything at all.
That was him wrapping himself around you.
I felt it.
You don't have to, I felt it for you.
Oh, there he is, sticking his finger in my ass.
He's spicy.
He's playing with my labia.
He is frisky.
He's romantic.
He's romantic.
Oh, one in the pink, two in the stink.
Look out!
I feel someone nibbling on my nipples.
Was that him?
Was he like that?
Oh, oh, oh, I have dirt in my mouth.
I just imagine this ghost like full...
I'm being Teresa from behind like, ah!
Finally!
Someone who gets me.
Closed?
No, that that was his soul entering and leaving your physical body.
Do you know someone that had the miscarriage
or the termination?
I did.
Kay.
Kay.
Mm-hmm.
Kay.
Oh my God.
Kay.
Kay.
Kay.
Kay.
All right, I think this is a good place to take a break
and then we can all gather ourselves.
I mean, there's nothing funny about that.
I don't mean to say that.
No, God, no. It's just the way that
Teresa and I don't love how this is edited. I really don't. And I think, and they're sitting
down like across from each other at a desk. I think this is a little too on point. I would
and we know at least not in this video. We, no one is told how this lady showed up, why she showed up,
where she's from, does Teresa's,
I bet Teresa's people have an understanding
of who's coming in the door,
because that's probably an agreement
for the television production.
This is-
The student never aired it.
Never, never.
This is a television production.
And so-
That's the thing that's so great about the cold readings
when we watch those is because she makes things fit.
Yes.
And then, oh, I see something.
Oh wait, that's not you.
Oh, it's not you, it's you.
It's you.
Yeah.
That's the thing about cold readings
is they go much worse for her.
It's obvious that she's stretching,
she's doing broad questions and trying to zero in.
When she does these personal readings on her television show,
they always seem to be 100% spot on,
but they're highly edited.
You don't know how she found the people.
And you have to make the assumption that the production team knows
who's going to be there ahead of time.
They understand who they're dealing with, and it's likely they have information
that they have fed to Teresa or are feeding to Teresa.
Because it just seems so...
Don't you think Teresa would be the most scientifically studied human being
in the course of history if any of this was even a little bit true? This doctor, who while well
respected, as in at least in any of the videos I've seen, has never said this is proof of something
happening extra- Spirit. Spirit. yeah, that's like spiritual.
He has just said something happens different to her brain, but that could be because she's
lying, because she puts herself in a meditative state, because she's overthinking, overworking,
trying to figure out what the next thing to say is.
It's not particularly unusual what her brain is doing.
It's just doing it in a way that the doctor can now read. So, but again, think about this.
If Teresa was actually talking to Spirit
and she in fact cared this much about science
and people having scientific proof,
would she not be the most studied person in history?
The CIA, by the way, has drugs research on this
all the time. it's well documented what and they
have found proof that people can remote view and send conversation from one
person to another without saying into psychic abilities but those people
aren't on fucking TV with big hair
All right, we'll be back. Okay, you're probably wondering why I, Rachel, have taken over the voice duties at TCB.
It's pretty simple.
Astrid asked me to shut Brian up, even for a minute.
Well, lovely Astrid, your wish is my command.
Do you want to help Astrid too?
You know you do.
Leave a message for her, or me, or Chrissy,
at 212-433-3TCB. That's 212-433-3822. You can be on the show too. Just call and say
something. Anything. Or text us and we'll text you right back. Promise. Then head over
to tcbpodcast.com and get your free sticker. It's your constitutional
right to a sticker, and we must abide. You get the point. Follow us on Instagram at The
Commercial Break and watch all the episodes on video at YouTube.com slash The Commercial Break.
Best to you, and Astrid, especially Astrid.
Hey, so what did you want to talk about?
Well, I want to tell you about Wagovi.
Wagovi?
Yeah, Wagovi.
What about it?
On second thought, I might not be the right person to tell you.
Oh, you're not?
No, just ask your doctor.
About Wagovi?
Yeah, ask for it by name.
Okay, so why did you bring me to this circus?
Oh, I'm really into lion tamers.
You know, with the chair and everything.
Ask your doctor for Wagovi by name.
Visit wagovi.ca for savings.
Exclusions may apply.
All right, we're back here with Theresa Caputo
doing a reading.
I don't, I'm not gonna call this a cold reading.
Probably a very warm reading of a girl
while her brain is attached to a suction device.
All right.
And she just asked if she had...
She's spot on with everything so far.
Yeah.
So far, it's 100% accurate, but also highly edited.
So here we go.
No regrets.
And whose birthday is it? Is it your birthday? Whose birthday?
Our birthdays are very close together. He's April 15th and I'm April 16th. And he also passed away on our birthday.
And he says, and I'm sorry. Was he far when he died?
Yeah, he was about an hour away.
He brought me through the departure.
I didn't feel I was at a high rate of speed.
Okay, how did he die?
Tell us.
High rate of speed.
I felt that I was driving,
and then all of a sudden my car just kind of veered off
and slowly crashed into a tree.
What?
No way.
I was away five years ago in a car accident on his way home from his birthday.
I wish that I was with him that night.
I do.
It was my birthday as well.
And I was out with my friends and I feel like I was having fun that
night when it happened.
I mean, it's a very sad story.
It is a terrible story and I feel terrible for this young lady.
That gives me a sense of a big regret.
Her ears are sticking out. She's got clips on her ears. That's why she feels
like someone's nibbling on her ears. They have electrodes attached to her earlobes.
He also showed me that when he died, you felt his soul after he left? Because he says, I did come and say goodbye to you.
It was a moment where I felt something was off.
Like, I felt...
You were out having fun with your friends at the party?
Yeah, like...
Maybe... Okay.
Yeah.
So, no, his soul...
I don't want to make fun of her misery.
No, no, no, no, no.
...and to say goodbye.
He says, I want her to know that I... Because I said to him, why do you keep making me feel
the blow?
When did you say that?
Yeah, when did you say that?
She's so foolish.
To the front of my head.
And he said, because I want her to know that I died instantly.
See, here's the thing that's interesting about Teresa too.
And if you've just tuning into the commercial break, we've done lots of these videos.
So we kind of get the rhythm of Teresa and what she's all about. We've heard her
talk about her special little powers before. And one of the things that she says is that
she doesn't hear people talking to her directly. She gets a feeling, but she often says, he
says, he's telling me, he says, she also says she doesn't get physical touch. She can't
physically be contacted, but she just said that someone was nibbling on her ear
So the rules bend and and break according to the moment when she needs to pull somebody in further
It's an old parlor trick. That's what it is
And he says you feel if you were with him you would have been able to protect him and maybe he wouldn't have died
Is that correct? Yeah, um, he fell asleep at the wheel and you would have been able to protect him and maybe he wouldn't have died?
Is that correct? Yeah, he fell asleep at the wheel
and he was so worried because he fell.
He wants you to know that even if you were there,
doesn't mean that you could have prevented his departure.
Our destiny in life is set.
Unfortunately, this accident still would have happened.
He says, but what if you did drive?
And there was still an accident and I departed. this accident still would have happened. He says, but what if you did drive?
And there was still an accident and I departed. Where would have guilt lie then?
He says, no regrets.
He wants you to know that you were his last thought
when he departed.
He says, because I always thought of you.
You are very special.
And he said, please tell her don't cry for my soul.
He says his soul is with you, always.
He actually said to me, close your eyes,
I want to show you something.
It's my dick!
Oh!
Oh!
Oh!
And when I did that, I can see you holding his hand
and just walking.
That's a sweet thought.
No, that's a sweet thought. It's like, I don't know, kind of like one of those cards you
would get at a grocery store. It's a very nice, very nice thought.
He said, please tell her that I will walk with her for all the days of her life.
I'm feeling relieved.
Theresa validated the fact that I could not have changed him. If I was there, I could not have changed what happened.
He said, I want you to be able to embrace life with happiness and joy, and when you
do leave, his soul will be there to greet you.
This reading has actually taken away the pain.
That part is good.
Sure.
If she's a real and not an actor.
I have to agree with you there.
I do not want to knock somebody's real grief,
but I am a little bit suspicious about this whole thing.
It feels to me to be a little cooked up.
I was carrying around with me.
Very nice to meet you.
Good luck to you.
And so my heart is lighter.
And then that's that.
Boom, boom, talk to you later.
Well, see you later.
Hey.
Dead love of my life.
Hey, listen, I'm gonna keep your boyfriend tongue in my ear
and I'll talk to you later.
Yeah.
I feel better and I feel like I'll be able to love better.
He's like, damn, her brain is crazy.
I know, he's like, she?
This is the same thing we see with schizophrenics, but how do I make this sound good for television?
Right.
Ha ha ha ha.
All right, so this is going to be the interesting one.
Uh-oh, the big reveal.
Watch, there's nothing there.
Oh, she's preparing.
She's setting everybody up for nothing to happen.
Did anything happen?
The big thing we discovered is that her brand is clearly different.
Okay, so we saw, yeah, I know, but we-
And then it goes to TLC.
It goes to TLC commercial.
So this was her show.
Oh, you're right about that.
This was her show.
Okay, this is TLC, the Sky version, the BBC version.
But in any case, what we did here last time,
we now connect the dots, is that what he said was,
the prefrontal cortex of Teresa's brain
works in overdrive as she's giving this reading.
Chrissy, they didn't, he gave no additional context.
He gave no additional context.
That's all he said. was that here's a person
that's talking normally to their friend,
not a lot of, not a ton of prefrontal cortex.
Here's Teresa while she's giving this reading,
a lot of prefrontal cortex.
And so Chrissy and I went and used ChatGPT
to understand it a little bit deeper.
And ChatGPT said that the prefrontal cortex
is used when lying,
when being creative, when making up, when having, uh, like when you're
doing critical analysis, when you're trying to think of something, when
you're trying to reason through something.
So it could be that Teresa is just storytelling in her own head.
And that's why it goes into overdrive.
Or it could be that she is trying to remember
and reason through things that she knows,
she needs to, like the bullet points,
the beats that she needs to hit
when she is reading this particular person.
If you ask me, and I don't know this for a fact,
this particular reading seemed very set up to me.
Yeah.
Even the way the young lady was reacting to the way
that Teresa was saying things seemed...
Yeah, this is not a person off the street.
This was just, you know, already she would,
the interview cuts to just this woman
that's just sitting in this office ready.
Yes.
Now, I know from my own personal research online
that there are tens of thousands, probably millions of people who think Teresa Caputo is real.
And everything she has to offer is true and that there is definitely, she is definitely
making connections.
I don't know that to be true or not true.
I suspect it's not. My own eyes, ears, and amazing abilities of deduction,
tell me it's probably not.
But if that's what you believe, that's what you believe.
Hey, listen, you know.
Exactly, each to their own.
I guess if it's helping somebody.
I have some land in Florida I'd like to sell you.
No.
Ah!
And some merch.
Okay.
That's true.
God bless you, Teresa, wherever you may be.
I don't like what you're doing, but you know,
if it's real, if that girl's story and her reactions
and everything was real, well at least she didn't
walk away hurt.
She's alleviated from regret.
She's alleviated.
She's been alleviated.
She's been alleviated from pain.
From pain.
Yes.
There you go.
And regret.
Okay.
All right.
Do we all feel better now?
Do we all feel like we got something out of this?
It's science.
It's science. It's science!
What's that?
Oh man, I love it.
I do love me a good Teresa Caputo video.
And this one a bit more serious than most of the ones we do.
I mean, it's like the mountain monsters thinking that they're actually catching monsters.
That's right.
But here's the difference. I know that when the mountain monsters, when the cameras turn off, I totally know that
the mountain monsters don't believe their own bullshit.
Do you know what I'm saying?
They know.
They're acting.
They know.
Yeah.
Theresa has to put this on all day and all night long.
And I'm sure everyone she comes in contact with wants a reading, is asking her.
