Starting point is 00:01:14 How do I look? Rich. Just what I was going for. I think we would trade John for white Zinfandel or any wine. Frazier, new season streaming September 19th on Paramount Plus. If you have any question for the senator, now is your time to put your hand. Yes, ma'am. Why did you choose to run? Because I think we need a president who's going to take on the battles and fights that no one else will. And I know that if we are going to actually have health care care the to the to to the to the to have to have to have their to have to have their to have to have their to have health care to have health care care care care care care care care care care care to have health care care care care care care care to have health care care care care to to to to to to to their to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their going to take on the battles and fights that no one else will. And I know that if we are going to actually have health care as a right, pass a green
Starting point is 00:01:48 new deal or national pay leave, we do have to get money out of politics. And my story is so different than any other Democrat running. I win in red and purple and blue places. My first House district was two to one Republican. Second time with a theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuupeaae. the. the. th won it twice, second time with a 24-point margin. And then I came together three elections in New York with the highest vote percentage ever at 72%. That's higher than President Obama, higher than Hillary Clinton, higher than any person who's ever run for Senate or Governor. And so the one thing that I know I can do is bring this country back together. Because President Trump has truly divided us on every racial, religious, socioeconomic line.
Starting point is 00:02:30 He's made us a smaller country. He's a somebody who actually bullies and demeans the vulnerable. He punches down. And so we need a president who's going to fight the fight to bring this country back together again and actually get things done and I have the vision and the experience to actually do it. All right. One more question that we have to wrap. Yes sir. What will you do to confront climate change deniers? So give them the facts, I think global climate change is the greatest threat to humanity that exists today and I will not only pass a green new deal, but I will put a price on carbon. And the way I can reach across the aisle to get that done is almost all the ideas under the green new deal are already bipartisan, invest in infrastructure, which is simple things
Starting point is 00:03:14 like high-speed rail and rural broadband and more mass transit and a better electric grid, clean jobs, actually teaching our kids STEM subjects and investing in the wind, solar, geothermal, hydropower on biofuel industries and incentivize innovation and clean air and clean water. Or it's a big issue in every state. There's not a state that doesn't have water that's polluted, whether it's lead or PFOAs or nitrates. And so I can bring those ideas to Republicans to pass that legislation. The only part that's new is net-zero-capapapapapapapeeeoleoleoleolease-c. the same-c. thiiiiole pass that legislation. The only part that's new is net zero carbon
Starting point is 00:03:46 emissions in 10 years. And I just see it the same way John F. Kennedy did. When he said I want to put a man on the moon in 10 years, he had no clue if he could do it. He just knew it was a good organizing principle and he knew it would be an ambition for the country to achieve. So why not say let's win not the space race but the green energy race and get to net zero carbon emissions and challenge the entire world community to compete for it. How about a green energy race with China as to who can get the best technology to reduce fossil fuels and reduce global climate change? Senator Kis and Gillibrand everybody. Thank you again.
