Jumping into a live stream on whatnot reveals an immediate sense of energy, joy, and community.
It's an interactive environment where audiences can watch a seller move through an entire product inventory in a single live show,
faster than most traditional storefronts sell in a month.
For buyers, it offers a dynamic space to connect directly with passionate sellers
and discover unbeatable deals on name brands without paying full retail price.
As the largest dedicated live shopping marketplace in the country,
What Not features thousands of sellers building thriving businesses across categories ranging from fashion and beauty to electronics and sports cards.
Whether it's an established brand or business yet to exist, anyone can sell here.
Because sellers showcase products in real time and build authentic relationships with buyers,
they move up to 10 times more volume than on other major marketplaces.
This platform transforms live connection into a reliable path for long-term growth.
Buyers spend an average of more than an hour a day in the app,
meaning they're deeply engaged, buying, and constantly returning to support their favorite storefronts.
Consistency yields massive results,
and the number of sellers making over $1 million a year on the platform
has officially doubled over the past year.
Search What Not, W-H-A-T-N-O-T, in the app store.
Download and you can start selling right away.
You're listening to Comedy Central.
Let me speak directly to John Stewart for just a few seconds.
And I know he watches.
He's a big fan of the show.
Guilty as charged.
I watch it every night with all my friends.
Continue, Mr. Goldberg.
When you had Frank Rich on your show,
who generalizes all the time about conservatives
and Republicans being bigots,
you didn't ask him a single tough question.
You gave him a lap dance.
You practically had your tongue down his throat.
T.S. Chal.
Was that televised?
I don't want to say anything, but Frank Rich hasn't been on the show
since 2006.
I mean, since I gave Frank Ridge that lap dance,
I don't know if you noticed,
but I went back in the champagne room with Bill Crystal like five times.
And if you watch this show, as it appears you have,
you must remember me and McCain, like bunnies.
But I guess that's besides the point.
Here's the point.
You can't criticize me for not being fair and balanced.
That's your slogan.
Which, by the way, you never follow.
Which brings us back to the essence of the whole go-h-h-yourself's piece.
You're just a safe Jay Leno with a much smaller audience,
but you get to say the F-bomb, which gives your incredibly,
unsophisticated audience, the illusion.
You're generalizing.
The illusion that you're courageous
and that's your renegade, but it's only an illusion.
Wait, wait!
I'm not a courageous renegade?
But I've always considered myself
the Lorenzo Lammis of Late Night.
I thought my audience was elitist.
Are they elitist or unsophisticated?
Or unsophisticated in their elitism?
Look, I'm sorry I told you to go fuck yourself last week
And that other time, like six months ago,
I told her to go to be so.
I know that I criticize you in Fox News a lot,
but only because you're truly a terrible,
cynical, disingenuous news organization.
Wrong approach.
That's the wrong approach.
That's not.
I'm not going to do this.
I'm not going to be confrontational.
I want to take a minute
to talk directly to Bernie Goldberg.
Baby, I don't want to fight, baby.
And I know you've been hurt before
by them liberal elites.
They've done you wrong.
Bernie.
Don't let that close your heart, brother.
I don't hate you.
I mean, you're not Dick Morris.
Yeah, what is wrong with that guy?
Yeah, seriously.
He's starting to look like that guy from men in black.
Which one?
You know from the first one,
the guy who came down and walked around
in other people's skin.
A, Shaloo?
You're talking about...
No.
Oh, oh, the Vincent Dinoffrio guy.
That's the one.
Yeah, that's right.
You see, I've learned people are complicated, Bernie, and hard to categorize.
I mean, I've got some conservative views.
He's a pro-military motherfuckier peace to the troops.
I've got some libertarian views.
Legalize it.
Gay marriage.
Uh-huh.
Pott.
Uh-huh.
Gay pot marriage.
Now you make a .
And I know that I can be intolerant.
Lactose and otherwise, don't let this man eat any blisses.
And I believe this country should provide some kind of social safety net for our most vulnerable citizens.
Communists.
And I also believe power should be passed down to the firstborn son of the reigning king.
Monarchus.
And I believe in ghosts.
Boo!
But I would...
Yes.
That's the editing.
Not funny.
I try to be funny.
Why don't you watch the movie?
I don't have time to watch all the guest movies.
My point is this.
He's got a point now.
He's got a point now.
He's got a point now.
He's got a version of what fair satire is or should be.
I'm not fair.
I'm not balanced.
He's...
How what I meant?
He's Coco-Loco.
Thank you.
You're criticizing me for not living up to your tagline.
Oh, Lord!
And you dismiss any criticism as further evidence
of how the rest of the media persecute you.
You like to pretend, Bernic Goldberg in Fox News,
that the relentless conservative activism of Fox News
is the equivalent, oh, the equivalent
of the disorganized liberal influence you find on NBC, ABC and CBS.
But Fox News, you may be able to detect a liberal pathogen
in their bloodstream, however faint.
But Fox News is such a crazy overreaction
to that perceived threat.
You're like an autoimmune disorder.
I'm not saying the virus doesn't exist in some small quantity.
But you're producing way too many antibodies.
Fox News, you're the lupus of news.
Navigating cholesterol wellness is a major reality for the average American today.
But taking proactive care of the body should not feel like a daily chore.
Many people delay addressing their health because they are hesitant to start traditional health care options that require taking capsules that they are uncomfortable taking indefinitely.
To bridge that gap, more customers are choosing plant and mineral forward options that fit naturally into a modern lifestyle.
Dose for cholesterol provides a clinically backed cholesterol support supplement designed to support triglycerides, HDL, and total cholesterol levels.
utilizing functional ingredients like turmeric, COQ10, ginger, and amla, it offers a clean, reliable way to self-manage daily wellness goals.
A true advantage of this system is how seamlessly it integrates into a busy day.
Replacing messy powders and pills, dose for cholesterol is taken as a simple, pre-measured two-ounce liquid shot with a refreshing mango taste.
Ship directly to the door, it provides a consistent health support that's easy to stick with every day.

So now the House Republicans have made the incredibly unpopular move of forcing a shutdown in the United States government so as to save us all from having the king bang our wives.
There's only one thing left to do.
Fox!
To the damage control station.
Man the straw man.
I wonder if it's going to be like the sequester where,
before the sequester we heard, you know, the sky essentially is going to fall.
It's going to be awful.
You're going to feel the pain immediately.
Not so much.
The worst thing that happens is some museums close and someone who can't go to the Statue of Liberty.
We were all warned the sky was going to fall.
Well, you woke up this morning and the sun came up, didn't it?
Yeah, no one told you this sky would fall.
No one told you that a government shutdown had the same effect as an asteroid hitting the planet.
Although, quick note, the government shutdown did affect the program that would tell us if that was happening.
But the point is, on Fox, no biggie.
When the president came out yesterday and he went through the list of what wasn't going to change,
he said, well, we'll have air traffic controllers, Medicare, you go to a doctor.
I was sitting there going, wait a second, he's making the case for the Republicans.
This sounds pretty good.
Maybe I'm just one of the few people.
I'm just not, this doesn't impact me mentally.
We've had 17 government shutdowns, Governor.
I'm not afraid of a couple of weeks
of government being shut down.
How can it be if it doesn't personally impact John Hannity?
I mean, it's not like they shut down Smith and Wolensky
for private events.
I mean, that would really be f***ed up.
Or closed our nation's strategic flag graphic reserves.
Or if Roger Ailes implemented a no grunting policy
in the Fox men's room,
Now is the time for an adult conversation about how our government makes its most important
decisions and functions in crisis.
And to lead that discussion, I give you our national media.
President Obama's so-called latte salute.
Holding a cup in his right hand.
The great coffee escapade.
Coffee gate.
President Obama in hot water.
Some people think it was disrespectful.
Hashtag latte salute.
The coffee salute went viral.
The lot is blowing up online.
We are so f***ed.
I don't even know what to do.
First of all, we're currently fighting, if I may say.
So apparently we're currently fighting ISIS and Ebola,
two things that are literally blowing up and going viral.
So if you're not going to cover the important stuff,
at least don't use words that remind us of the important stuff you're not covering.
Okay.
Now, to be fair, Lattegate wasn't all the news talked about yesterday,
but where I might have given the president salutes with coffee cup story
an espresso-sized shot of attention,
The news channels went for the full double venty coverage,
with one network going especially deep.
Learn the proper respect of the salute.
Insensitive.
What's the meaning of it? That's it.
It looks terrible.
It's outlandish, and it's disappointing.
Put your coffee in the other hand.
Our commander-in-chief displayed his complete disrespect
for the men and women in uniform.
Shut up.
You don't really care about this.
You have no principle about this.
You're just trying to score points in a game that no one else is playing.
Here's how we know.
It's an arrogance that he portrays.
These people put their lives on the line for us.
You're right.
Show the respect and salute these guys.
So the principle here is show respect for the people who are putting their lives on the line for this fight.
Here's Eric Bowling on that very same episode.
The first female pilot piloting for the UAE dropped the bombs on ISIS on Monday night.
Would that be considered boobs on the ground or no?
First of all, forget the rampant sexism in that statement.
Second of all, she's a pilot,
so whatever gender-specific equipment she might be carrying
is in the fucking air.
And thirdly, what was the quote
that someone said earlier in your program?
These people are putting their lives on the line for us
show respect.
So, fuck you and all your false patriotism.
And to be frank, oftentimes this show is critical of Fox,
but only because they're terrible.
Like sometimes almost shockingly terrible.
For instance, two weeks ago, Justice Department
released a report.
on the Ferguson, Missouri Police Department's shooting of Michael Brown.
Basically, exonerating Officer Darren Wilson
and debunking the hands-up, don't-shoot narrative.
And then they released a second DOJ report
stating that the Ferguson Police Department
routinely violates the Constitution and federal law
with a pattern of racial bias.
Unreasonable force, intentional discrimination,
and mistreatment of detainees,
wrongs borne disproportionately by African Americans.
But on Fox, you kind of love this.
Despite their 24-hour schedule,
they really only had time for the one report.
The DOJ now admitting hands up, don't shoot, never happened.
People have been fed a narrative.
Protesters who have been running around this country,
telling a lie.
The tsunami of misinformation and innuendo,
boneheaded, non-fact-based rhetoric.
It never happened.
Did not happen.
It didn't happen that way.
Wilson's been exonerated.
Let's move on.
The Department of Justice found that
that the flashpoint incident for protests
did not happen the way some thought.
Although in this second report,
they did also document a tower of racially based kindling wood,
years of unreasonable force, lighter fluid,
and daily tossed lit cigarette butts of discrimination and harassment
that could easily lend itself to a flashpoint.
But as the fire, safety wardens of Fox suggests,
Yeah, let's just move on.
But here's the thing.
The anger is still there.
The people couldn't move on at Fox.
They demanded restitution at Fox.
Why isn't the media which peddled that narrative apologizing?
Obama, Sharpton, they should be held responsible for their incendiary rhetoric.
Fanning the flames, rushing to judgment, blood on their hands.
The damage was done.
or the inflammatory rhetoric was used.
We saw members of Congress saying,
hands up, don't shoot.
And if one of them has so far apologized
for misleading America,
we haven't heard it.
I have not received a single,
I am very sorry
for igniting racial conflict reading card.
The lesson Fox News is getting at
is very clear.
Wouldn't it be nice
if people who jumped to conclusions
and peddled a false,
divisive anger-stoking narrative had to apologize for misleading America.
Now?
Now?
Now?
Here's where the s'it gets real.
I wonder if there's an analogous event where we could test Fox's fealty to this principle
of restitution for a grievment.
Does the word Benghazi ring about?
A bunch of new questions about Benghazi.
Benghazi.
Benghazi.
Benghazi.
Benghazi.
First of all, Benghazi isn't Beetlejuice.
You don't say it three times.
But if you insist, okay, let's use that example.
It's a tragic event where Americans died, like Ferguson,
but if the analogy is to hold,
who will play the role of nation-dividing,
anger-stoking rhetoritians
before the official government investigation was completed?
Special report investigates death and deceit in Benghazi.
Susan Rice willingly went along and lied on the Sunday chat shows.
The CIA warned that there might be an attack on a 9-11 anniversary.
During the attack, they didn't send help that was waiting in Tripoli, a C-130, to assist these guys.
Coming up, they could have saved four Americans, but instead our government told them to stand down.
So basically, you're saying the government of the United States told its military,
if I want to put this in a catchy,
protesty kind of phrase,
stand down, don't shoot.
And Fox didn't restrict
its anger stoking to words
because, let's face it,
they're older viewers
who are hard of hearing,
also have a right to be mad.
So scary opens
and that burning Benghazi
footage in a semi-continuous loop
like some kind of Fox News
Yule log.
Oh, they're running the burning
compound footage again.
It seems like Bengasmas
comes
earlier and earlier every year.
But of course, unlike Ferguson protesters, Fox wasn't being irresponsible and divisive.
They just wanted the truth.
We have unanswered questions about Benghazi.
There are glaring questions that are unanswered.
Questions still remain unanswered.
There's questions about stand-down orders and so on.
And here we are all this time later.
We don't have the answers.
So we still don't have the answers.
Four Americans are dead and there are a lot of unanswered questions.
Well, your sentence construction says, I just
want to know, but the tone says why the president had an ambassador whacked.
Well, finally, on November 21st, 2014, they got their answers from an exhaustive report
from the Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee answering those many questions.
Did Susan Rice go on TV and try to deceive anyone?
Report says no.
Did the administration ignore credible warnings about that day's attack?
Report says no.
Was there a stand-down order or failure?
to rescue those individuals and send rescue planes?
Report says no.
Was there a massive intelligence agency cover-up?
Report says no, not CIA, not FBI.
None of them, which means all these elements
in the two-year Benghazi rage-gasm were...
What do you call it?
What do you call it?
Tsunami of misinformation.
Right, right, right, right.
Right, right.
Yes, yes, yes.
Yes, yes.
That, right.
It's all those things.
So it would only follow that just like Fox did.
demanded of any protester who said, hands up, don't shoot.
The correct action for no stand down, don't shoot for Fox News now would be too.
Why isn't the media which peddled that narrative apologizing?
Yes, yes.
That's so true.
Yes.
And so, in the fateful days following that Republican House Intelligence Committee report,
what did the Fox say?
In fact, other than a couple of half-heartedly,
efforts to on the Republican-led report, its contents went largely unnoticed on Fox.
Even Megan Kelly, who was prior to that desperately searching for answers, had the House Intelligence
Committee Chair Mike Rogers on her show two weeks after he released the Benghazi report and never
asked him about it once, not once.
Yes, the network who used the word Benghazi like a clubhouse password.
The official Republican-dominated House report on Benghazi was the
the only news story in two years that didn't remind them to talk about Benghazi.
Which brings us once again to our main point of respect and appreciation.
The beauty that is the ugliness of Fox News.
They demand accountability for anger and divisiveness, whilst holding themselves entirely
unaccountable for their anger and divisiveness. For two years, they used Benghazi as
shorthand as a symbol for the whole concept of a corrupt, lying, tyrannical, possibly murderous
Obama White House.
Kind of like other people used Hands Up Don't Shoot as a symbol for systemic racism.
And there's really only one difference between the two phenomena.
Systemic racism actually exists.
Last week, I thought a very nice piece on the show about how Fox News wanted people to apologize
for rushing to judgment on the Ferguson shooting of Michael Brown.
And so we, I think, quite cleverly drew an analogy to that,
and their rush to judgment on Benghazi.
It was really quite droll.
Now, while Fox never addressed our Benghazi point,
it appears now they're asking for more than an apology.
Pete Williams, to his credit, got that Boston Marathon Terror reporting dead on.
And the mainstream media hailed him as a hero for getting it right, which he did.
Fox News got this case right.
Fox News, not just me.
Sean Hannity had a lot of segments,
plus O'Reilly had a lot of segments,
urging caution.
Would the mainstream media ever hail them as heroes
like we heard about Pete Williams?
Yeah, why doesn't Fox get as much credit
as who's Pete Williams?
The point is, it wasn't the first time they got it right.
I urged caution in the Duke coverage
and in the Trayvon Martin cover.
and now in this coverage.
That's three times.
They got it right three times in ten years.
Those are solar eclipse numbers, people.
Which I think is why it's recommended.
You only watch Fox through a tiny pinhole poked in a piece of cardboard.
You can't look directly at Fox.
It will indelibly burn your soul.
While, of course, the whole rush to judgment complaint is bull-sh-sh-h-fax.
It's nothing but a rush to judgment in almost every situation.
Okay.
You're the caution and sober reflection network.
But my favorite part of the piece was after 10 minutes of complaining that no one would ever thank them, this.
If you are waiting for the mainstream media to say not only that we were wrong in this racially charged case that resulted in so much violence in that town,
and to credit Fox News for being right, you're going to hold your breath a long time.
We don't care about them.
Right, you don't care in the same way my mom doesn't care if I ever.
ever call. Sure, call or not, I could just sit here and die. But the point is. The point is you
were right, and that is newsworthy when Fox is right. And calls for celebration. So to honor that time
you were right, we got you a fudgy the whale. We think you're a whale of a network. In that,
we've been chasing you our whole lives and just can't kill you. But that's not all, Fox,
in honor of this singular achievement of you being right.
Liberal Hollywood has something they'd like to say to you.
Hollywood?
I'm George Lucas, and I'm here to assure you
that I'm only going to make movies from now on
that are blindly uncritical of America.
Like, the Empire Strikes Back, Justifiably.
American exceptionalism graffiti.
Star Wars, the Reagan Missile Defense version,
and the Clinton Menace.
Fox News, may you live long and prosper.
Wait, I didn't write that, did I?
But the truth is this.
Fox, we can send you all the congratulatory messages and praise we can muster.
But it's really just going to pale in comparison to how your biggest fans feel about you.
And so we had them tape some messages of congratulations as well.
Take a look.
One network has transformed, re-invigient, and reinvented the way news is done.
Fox is the dominant force in broadcast news today.
We're the only network that's telling the truth right now.
It's the only place you can feel good about your country.
You might learn something as opposed to just having your worldview reinforced.
We give you both sides.
We give you all the stuff.
We're simply better than the opposition.
We keep kicking their ass every day in the ratings.
Number one, number one.
Number one, that's us.
Probably the most powerful news agency in a world right now.
We're certainly covering it this morning.
Thank you, Fox News.
You guys, you're the best.
Thank God for outlets like Fox News.
Thank God for Fox News.
Thank God Fox News is on it.
Thank God.
Thank God.
Thank God.
God bless Fox News.
He clearly already has.
The great thing is, I get it now.
Your network launched in 1996.
You're 18 years old.
And just like every other 18-year-old, you have a massive ego.
And spend 24 hours a day jerking yourself off.
My announcement of leaving did not go unnoticed.
John Stewart's surprise announcement.
16 years is the host of The Daily Show.
Now he's stepping aside.
I don't think overall he's been a force for good,
because I think, especially in his later years,
he got a little nasty.
A little nasty, not a force for good.
Okay, I can handle that.
But Megan, in his later years, only 52.
I got four to five productive years left.
And then about 10 to 15,
They're mostly eh.
And then I guess, you know, the last four or five angry, confused years, or as they're
sometimes referred to the Fox News viewer demo years.
You know what?
I'm just kidding.
It's all good.
Everybody's entitled to their opinion.
What he added to our political discourse was largely sarcasm, insults, and dishonest editing.
You know, it's clearly selective editing of clips.
I can speak personally to a lot of the attacks that were levied on me were.
had no foothold in the facts.
Why, I.
Dishonesty, no foothold in the facts.
You have cast aspersions upon my honor.
And I demand.
Satisfaction!
Frikes, Frikes, news.
Eye off.
Stortions and lack of fact footholds against mine.
To start us off here is 50 of yours and a six-second vine.
Only have a 22-minute show.
Actually, you just go to the website
and you can peruse each lie at your leisure.
You see, something of a conventional wisdom about this show has taken hold on the right,
a thought they've become so comfortable with that they don't feel the need to even offer evidence to support it,
that we lie and distort things all the time to make them look bad.
It's perhaps best summed up by this fellow here.
John Stewart has helped to polarize the country by poisoning the Republican brand.
Oh, yes.
Poisoning the Republican brand.
You're talking about this brand right here.
The college co-ed Susan Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex.
What does that make her?
It makes her a slut, right?
If any race of people should not have guilt about slavery, it's Caucasians, Obama's entire economic program is reparations.
Who's in town, tingeon, tong, tong, tachan, baba.
He is moving all around and shaking, and it's purely an act.
This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox.
We poisoned that brand.
Just had a curiosity.
Let me ask you a question, and I mean this sincerely,
how do you poison a cyanide factory?
But see, the little game that they play here is,
the only reason the right looks bad is that these guys are unfair liars to us.
By the way, that sentiment is brought to you by Arby's.
Arby's.
Proof John Stewart cannot destroy a brand by telling people what's in it.
Pig anus and cheese.
Pig anus and cheese!
My point is, we don't lie.
We don't distort.
We actually have a fellow who works in the building
who uses every fiber of his being
to prevent us from doing so, that moral bastard.
That...
John?
What?
Actually, my parents were married, so technically I'm not a bastard.
Fine! I just do it as a figure of speech!
The point is on the right, they're pretending that our truthfulness
is what's really important to them, which ironically is not true.
What matters to the right is discrediting anything that they believes harms their side.
That's their prime directive.
And unlike Captain Kirk, they stick with the prime directive.
They don't just drop the protocol.
anytime they feel like humping a green girl in a Unitar.
Look!
This mission drives their attack on all the institutions
that form the foundation of the country
they purport to love so dearly.
Our big and very broken government got bigger and more broken.
American students who are already suffering in a broken education system.
Teachers suggesting America is evil.
America's election system broken.
Science itself seems a little bit corrupt.
There's a lot of agendas involved.
Voter fraud is rampant.
And what, pray tell, is wrong with these institutions?
The liberal bias in anti-Americanism is infiltrating America's public schools.
Are liberals ignoring science to push their agenda?
The liberal left trying to destroy too many good things about our country.
Cure the cancer of liberalism that has America on her knees.
On her knees!
Ficking all of our liberal dicks!
All of them!
Each institution suffering from the same amount.
of liberalism and what can be done.
This is their genius.
They purport to want to fix things,
but conservatives are not looking to make education
more rigorous and informative,
or science more empirical or verifiable,
or voting more representative,
or the government more efficient or effective.
They just want all those things to reinforce
their partisan ideological conservative viewpoint.
Because in their minds,
the opposite of bad isn't good.
The opposite of bad is conservative.
The opposite of wrong isn't right.
Well, okay.
But you get my point.
It's right wing.
They judge solely on the level of conservative content in everything.
It's their only litmus test.
Even stupid shit.
If you thought American Sniper Success meant Hollywood was getting less liberal,
hmm, you didn't see the Oscars last night.
The mega hit was snubbed on Sunday night at the Oscars.
Oh, Clint East would.
Yeah, he spoke up for the Republican Party.
We don't like him so much.
We're going to make a point with that.
Is Clint East with a problem with American sniper, do you think?
because he was at the RNC talking to the chair?
Probably.
Clint Eastwood's been a conservative icon for years.
Oscar's already awarded him with Best Director and Best Picture during that time.
The Left Wing Lunes in Hollywood made the fucking movie in the first place
and nominated it for Best Picture.
Fine.
Hollywood didn't give Best Picture to American Sniper, so it must hate America.
No, they didn't even give Best Picture to the Best Picture.
Oh, it's so bad.
I mean, for God's sake, if Oscar nominations were based on liberal street cred,
You can stream it on iTunes, and it's available on Blu-ray.
It's an excellent St. Patrick's Day gift.
And you know the saddest part of all this?
Republicans, conservatives are so f***ing relentless
in their drive for ideological purity
that those institutions they complain about
continue to cave.
For the same reason, I guess,
that you always seem to end up going to the restaurant
the four-year-old wants to go to.
Fine! We're going to get fribbles again.
Stop crying!
Fifteen states have approved voter ID laws in the absence of any meaningful evidence
of voter fraud.
An Oklahoma State House Committee voted to ban AP history for not sugar-coding slavery enough.
Abstinance has approved sex education, and scientific fact isn't reported now, it's debated.
So let's just stop.
Let's stop pretending that these concessions to the right will at any point sate the beast.
What do you make of Pope Francis?
He's had some statements that, to me, sound kind of liberal, has taken me a back.
The Pope isn't conservative enough for these people.
So let's just stop giving into them.
Guys, take it from someone who's been watching what they do for a blessedly almost over 16 years or so.
Their chronically angry war for ideological purity, where every aspect of life becomes a two-dimensional battle for America's soul,
it ages you.
Even watching it is killing me.
This was me at the start of tonight's show.
And if you think that's a lie,
I've got a Vine video I want to show you.
In Toronto, every arrival is a statement,

You know, I'm watching Fox News,
which I'll continue to do now
for another, I don't know, 36 shows
minus today's open.
And, well, we often poke fun at them
for lying and sucking.
They do care very, very,
deeply about certain issues, like Benghazi, or women's legs, or that time one of their female
anchors didn't wear a dress, now known as Pants Gazi.
The point is, after Fox finishes caring about lots of other stuff, they eventually care
very deeply about poverty.
We haven't heard much about poverty from the Obama White House over the last four years.
Virtually no emphasis on families.
Why not focus on poverty?
I remember five or six years ago, President Obama making this one of his main talking points.
I'm going to fix the structure of the African-American family.
Where did that go?
And while the president has been addressing those issues, his entire presidency, good point.
In fact, yesterday, President Obama sat down for a 76-minute discussion at Georgetown University,
in which he explained all sorts of things about personal responsibility
and the debate between government assistance
and personal responsibility as being a false choice
and families, et cetera.
A free market is perfectly compatible
with also us making investment in good public schools,
public universities, investments in public parks.
If we do those things,
the values and the character that those kids are learning,
they're less likely to get pregnant as teens
and less likely to engage in drugs
and less likely to be involved in the criminal justice system.
is a reinforcement of the values and characters that we want.
I am a black man who grew up without a father,
and I know the cost that I paid for that.
And I also know that I had the capacity to break that cycle.
You know who else talked with his hands?
Hitler.
So Fox finally got the substantive presidential discussion
on poverty that they always wanted,
including on stage the counter view
from the head of the conservative American Enterprise
Institute. He was on stage. I can't wait to see Fox's happiness and satisfaction.
Fox News Alert, Fox News front and center.
President Obama taking time out today for one of his favorite topics, Fox News.
President Obama accused Fox News of propagating harmful stereotypes about poor Americans.
The president accused the media, in particular Fox News, of suggesting the poor are unwilling
to work.
Yep, just like college students at a four-hour commencement, Fox basically pays no attention
until they hear their own names.
It turns out at one point,
at one point in this incredibly thoughtful
and productive session on poverty,
the president made the easily provable
and decidedly true point
that Fox News narrative
is that poverty is not a function
of economic condition, but of character.
The effort to suggest that the poor are sponges,
leeches, are,
don't want to work,
or lazy. If you watch
Fox News on a regular
basis, it is a
constant menu. They will find
like
folks who make me mad.
I don't know where they find them, right?
They're all like,
I don't want to work. I just want
a free Obama phone or
whatever.
And that becomes an entire narrative.
Really?
Yeah, really.
Really.
Really?
Really?
Yes!
What's with your tone of disgust and disappointment?
Are you anchoring a news desk?
Or did you just come home to find your dog had eaten your cat's entire litter box?
Roscoe.
Really?
It sounds to me like the president has a remarkably firm grasp on your business model there, Fox.
So why are you outraged?
In my opinion, the president is spinning his own policy failures.
As the middle class shrinks and the poor are trapped in this system, so to speak,
the president blames us the honest messengers.
The honest messengers.
Um, Martha?
Really?
What?
What?
Did you even, did you even watch the fucking program?
What are you talking about, Barney?
We've looked at the food stamp program.
Not at the recipients.
We haven't characterized the recipients.
We've looked at the program.
We're not saying that the recipients of food stamps
are bad people or that they're lazy.
That is such a rich buffet of bull-h-I-can't.
It's a three-course prefix.
I'm sorry, prick-fest.
For starters, let's demonstrate Fox's contempt
for those in poverty in our first course of this meal
and a moose douche, if you will.
America's poor are actually living the good life.
Just call them pennies from government heaven.
The United States of Entitlement.
A nation of takers.
Entitlement society.
Scary.
We have nothing against the poor.
It's just that their rabbitest greed
burst through America's chest like the monster and alien.
But I'm sorry, you were saying you don't characterize
the poor as bad people or lazy.
Well, your entree is.
ready just as you asked for it, medium unfair.
We have conditioned people to look to the government to be their answer for every problem
they have and take zero responsibility.
The mooters.
Subsidize freeloaders.
Give me these goodies.
Give me a cell phone.
Pay my rent.
Bellouts from cradle to grade.
Nation of moochers.
Freeloaders in America.
Entitlement mentality.
Sitting on the couch eating bonbon.
People who sleep till noon sucking off, you know, the nipple of the government.
Removed from reality is Fox is
perception of their own coverage on poverty, the main defender of your network's attitude
towards those in poverty is the main offender. He does segments that would make Ebenezer Scrooge
go, hey, take it easy. These are people we're talking about. So for dessert tonight, we serve you
baked a lasshole. The handout nation rolls on. We hand out $79 billion every January to
the so-called poor people. You're not being mean to poor people today. I am. I am being mean
to poor people.
I am. Many poor families have homes with cable TV, cell phones, computers, you name it,
much, much more.
99% of them have a refrigerator.
81% have a microwave.
You're going to give us the emotional side of the story?
People need $15 per hour to live on.
They're starving without it.
Okay, I got that.
The image we have of poor people as starving and living in squalor really is not accurate.
Many of them have things.
What they lack is the richness of spirit.
today. Is it Christmas Day? Oh, go up and buy all the goces. Keep them out of those lazy,
poor hands. And if you see a boy on crutches, push him down, he's not crippled. He's crippled at heart.
He lacks a richness of legsness. Are these, honestly, are these glaring contradictions a product
of lack of self-awareness or cynicism or stupidity or evil? I don't know anymore, and I'm starting
to lack a richness of what I don't understand is another journalist on another network,
leaping to defend something so clearly indefensible.
What about this specific clip about Fox News calling poor people leeches, sponges, and lazy?
Have you ever heard that on Fox News?
No, I have not.
Well, I guess it's time for our favorite game show.
Did you even try to research this?
No, Scarborough cites three words.
He says he's never heard Fox News call poor people.
And then we see how wrong he is.
Today's words are lazy sponges and leeches.
Ready, set, go.
These programs do make people lazy.
They get food stamps.
It makes it easy for them to sponge off their girlfriends and spouses.
So the more of the leeches that he can get to vote for him.
And that's our game.
