The Daily Show: Ears Edition - Trump Gets Called "Pedophile Protector" AGAIN & Mexico Gets a New Pronunciation | Jeff Hiller
Episode Date: July 29, 2026Jordan Klepper dives into Trump getting called a pedophile protector AGAIN while speaking at a General Motors facility in Michigan, why the president decided to pronounce Mexico as "Meheho," the new t...ariffs on Canada that ruined the opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge, and how the Trump administration accidentally helped reimagine cocaine trafficking. Plus, Klepper visits a naked protest to find out if Antifa is dressed up as an inflatable frog. It's no secret that Americans are being recorded everywhere, all the time, but the reality is even worse than you might think. In this edition of Back in Black, Lewis Black zooms in on everyday surveillance, including creeps going viral for sneaking photos of women, kids using location-tracking apps to "fambush" their parents, and Kylie Jenner peddling her own line of fashion-forward AI glasses. Bestselling author, comedian and Emmy-winning actor Jeff Hiller talks to fellow tall person Jordan Klepper to discuss his nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in the Apple TV series "Pluribus,” and how the seven-minute role could make him the Dame Judi Dench of the Emmys. They talk about his roles in two hit Apple TV shows, how he can tell which show people notice him from, his use of improv in “Widow’s Bay,” and how his “Pluribus” character embodied a human ChatGPT. -- To get simple, online access to personalized, affordable care for ED, Hair Loss, Weight Loss, and more, visit https://Hims.com/dailyshow -- New customers can save 35% on your first month of subscription by going to https://dosedaily.co/TDS or entering TDS at checkout. -- The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11/10c on Comedy Central. You're listening to Comedy Central.
I'm the most trusted journalists at Comedy Central.
It's America's only source for news.
This is The Daily Show with your host, Jordan Clinton.
What's much to talk about tonight.
Trump visits Michigan to grope some cars.
The one import that's not affected by tariffs is cocaine.
And Canadians are very excited about a new bridge.
Sorry, a boot a new bridge.
So let's get into headlines.
Let's start in my home state of Michigan,
which is Ojibway for,
we're saving up to move to Chicago.
Yesterday, President Trump visited a GM auto facility
where he Kim Jong-unned his way down the display floor,
checked to see if a car was cake,
and apparently got tricked into signing a lease.
Don't get that rust-proofing, okay?
It's a scam.
Trust me.
By the way, I know we always rag on Trump for being weird,
but knocking on the car hood is probably the most normal thing he's ever done.
There is not a dad in the world who can walk past a new car
without wrapping on the hood to check that build quality.
You know, yeah, that's a car. That checks out, yeah, yeah.
You know what? At least this tour went a lot better
than the last time Trump visited a car facility in Michigan back in January,
which, if you remember, went like this.
As the president toured a Ford manufacturing factory,
this moment caught on camera and video obtained by TMZ,
one man shouting at the president, pedophile protector.
Wow, show some respect for the office.
That's president pedophile protector.
Come on, Missy Gander.
Look, it was an embarrassing event for all involved.
Luckily, this time, Trump made it through his whole tour without a hitch
and he was able to move on to his speech.
The trade deficit in automobiles was more than $300 billion.
annually. That means outside countries and companies were coming in and just robbing us blind.
And it was causing tremendous problems for your jobs. But now all of that is changing because I
place this...
Oh, why does this keep happening? Is it the same guy? Is it something in the water? Is it because
Trump with head millions of Epstein files and people are furious that no one has been held accountable
for it? We'll never know.
But come on, Donald.
This will not stand.
Hit him with a comeback.
He's a communist.
He's a communist.
Oh.
Okay.
If you're wondering,
communist is the opposite of pedophile.
We all remember watching
Karl Marx hosting to catch a predator.
So, I mean, maybe this is the political spectrum now.
Like, I'm just a straight-down-the-middle type of guy.
Fiscally communist, socially-bedefile.
Look, my fellow mission,
Please stop shouting crazy shit at Donald Trump.
He was elected to shout crazy shit at us.
Continue.
For years, you watch companies move production from America down to Mejillo.
I'm sorry.
Down to where?
Mejoh.
Oh.
He's saying it that way on purpose.
Next question.
Why?
There's a very nice president of Mexico.
You know that.
She's very nice, and she speaks beautifully,
and she calls it Mejahoe.
Oh.
Please meet with China next week.
Please meet with China next week.
Please meet with China next week.
While Trump is ranting about mejaho,
just down the road,
they're opening a new international trade route
between the U.S. and Canada,
or as Donald Trump calls it,
Kana Ha.
It's called the Gordy Howe International Bridge.
It connects Michigan and Ontario
in a symbolic,
unifying moment between the two countries.
Today was supposed to be this unifying moment between the two countries,
but instead it's sort of dripping with a stain.
And that's because at the 11th hour, Trump imposed this 50% tariff.
They were actually supposed to have a joint ribbon cutting between the two countries.
Instead, Canada hosted their own without a single U.S. elected official in sight.
It's so heartbreaking to see mom and dad fighting like this.
and to the bridge, it's not your fault.
Think of it this way, little gorty.
You get to have two Christmases, okay?
And even if Trump isn't excited for this bridge,
Michiganers are.
And that's why Michigan's local news
offered rudimentary bridge driving tips.
And I mean very rudimentary.
MSP pushed out an important warning
for anyone who plans to use the new bridge.
First, check this out.
Don't stop on the bridge or exit your vehicle.
Great tip.
Let me write this one down.
Stay in car while driving.
Great, awesome.
Thank you, Andre 1000.
Appreciate it.
Do you have any more advanced tips for bridge driving?
Follow all posted traffic signs
and message boards.
Obey posted speed limits.
Drive for the current traffic conditions.
Stay focused on the road
and put away any distractions.
Buckle up every time,
every trip.
Buckle my seatbelt!
That's not even bridge specific.
This is just a driver's ed class.
I mean, why am I even taking driving tips
from a guy who looks like he only travels
by hot air balloon?
Why are you talking like this
is the first bridge.
Michigan has ever seen.
Stop treating us like we're stupid.
We're not Ohio.
We're not.
But let's move on, because Trump
isn't just beefing with Canada.
He's also beefing with the entire rest
of the world. He's losing his
war with Iran. He's losing his war with Yemen.
He's somehow losing Ukraine's
war with Russia. And now it looks like
he's even losing his war on drugs.
After bombing dozens of boats
and hundreds of deaths, a DEA
assessment reportedly shows Operation
Southern Spear, which started
in September has not reduced the amount
or even the purity of cocaine flowing into this country by sea.
Hell yeah, let's fucking go!
I mean, another policy failure
from the Trump administration.
Yes, somehow the cocaine in America
is not only still plentiful,
but according to DEA officials
and my stockbroker, Cody, it's that good shit.
I'm confused.
How has the tactic of blowing up random fishing boats
not stopped?
all drug traffic.
The Trump administration strikes on alleged narco-terrorists
have only encouraged drug lords to find new ways
to bring narcotics into the United States.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course, drug lords found new ways.
These are the same people who found a way
to sneak in a powder using your butt.
They're pretty good at problem solving.
They're probably all got in a room and we're like, all right,
we're gonna crack this drug smuggling knot.
We gotta pull it all nighter,
but how are we gonna stay up all night?
Any ideas? Anybody? Anybody?
Cody, you? Huh?
But even as Donald Trump fails to contain the ever-increasing and widening wars around him,
his MAGA followers still stubbornly think of him as a peace president.
It's a devotion I discovered recently.
Last fall, I made a special about Trump's obsession with the Nobel Peace Prize.
In hindsight, I really shouldn't have been surprised when every MAGA supporter assumed he already had it in the bag.
Is Donald Trump the peace president?
I would say so.
I would say he's done a lot better than some of the others.
How was Donald Trump done in terms of ending wars?
I think definitely making it where there won't be more in the future, for sure.
Not starting new wars?
Yes.
Yes.
That Greenland war is done.
Yeah.
That's not happening anymore.
Yeah.
Right?
And I think we have Donald Trump to thank for that war.
For sure.
And for ending that war.
Exactly.
Yeah.
What is it about Trump that screams to you peace?
I thought he's bombing all the narco terrorists.
That's kind of, I mean, I know it's not peaceful, but it's bringing more peace in America.
You know, the way the actions were taking are outside the judicial system.
Isn't it open, like open waters?
So maybe it's extra judicial.
I think they're giving them enough due process.
Trump hadn't yet invaded Venezuela or started a war with Iran,
but he had deployed swarms of ice ages and federal troops to American cities.
What do you think of those images of federal troops in American cities?
I think that needed to be done a long time ago.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Why is that?
Because those places are horrible.
Yeah.
Who is causing the crimes in Portland?
Unfortunately, the African American demographic.
So wait, where are you getting this intel that it's black Americans?
That's the problem.
Before I came to Ole Miss, I was looking at going to the University of Oregon.
You were in, what, Eugene, Oregon?
It didn't feel safe.
Eugene, Oregon did not seem safe.
I say this with all due respect.
Yes.
Are you just a pussy?
Looking back, it was obvious the Magid crowd was afraid of liberal cities for one simple reason.
Antifa thugs.
The domestic terror group, Antifa.
Antifa!
But when I went to Portland, Oregon, to meet.
with these Antifa terrorists, I found
not blocks.
Where should I look?
Oh, here.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I have to ask, are you an Antifa thug?
I am not an Antifa thugs, but...
No.
Have you seen any antipahs?
I've not seen any thugs.
That is what an Antifa thug would say.
Turns out this was a naked protest
against Trump's immigration crackdown.
And joining the lefty nudists
were frightening farm animals.
So, as somebody who was an early adopter
to chicken costume,
What other cosplay are you sort of impressed by?
The toad and the frog.
You give me an antifa hop?
That has been an incredible symbol.
I think that one is caught on in a way that is really sustainable.
What do you mean by that?
Well, I don't know how intentional everything was with that or with this.
But frogs work so well as an analogy right now,
the frogs in boiling water.
That's what we are as America in this moment.
Like, fascism is happening.
It's not coming.
It's here.
And a lot of us have just been ignoring it as to be.
if it's turned up.
Do you think the frog understood that symbolism or just got super stoned and said, I'm
wearing this?
Can it be both?
They probably can be both.
Pay attention to America because last fall it was Portland, Oregon.
This spring, it was Portland, Maine.
And now I'm guessing Portland, Connecticut is about to get f***.
Hey, Ontario.

Welcome back to the Daily Show.
When a new story falls through the cracks, Lewis Black catches it for a segment we call Back in Black.
Anything like me, you love being watched.
Whether it's getting changed in front of an open window,
cutting my toenails on Twitch,
or slurping lo-main on the gram.
But while a little tasteful voyeurism revs my engines these days,
being watched has gotten out of control.
There are 85 million surveillance cameras now across the country.
Tens of thousands of cameras, tracking,
cars, including yours. Nearly 80% of Americans own some sort of home security camera, including
tens of millions of ring cameras. Everywhere from hotels and rental homes to cruise ship and
airplane bathrooms. What that? I've never sat next to an airplane bathroom and thought,
ooh, I really need to see what's going on in there. So like it or not, we're now being recorded
everywhere all the time. It's gotten so bad. I can't even bury a dog.
in my neighbor's yard without them sending the video to the police.
Mind your own business creeps.
But this goes behind ring cameras and license plate readers.
Now we've managed to make surveillance fun and trendy.
Kylie Jenner has partnered with MEDA to launch a new line of smart glasses
aimed at fashion-forward consumers.
The new sleek design combines AI features with a built-in camera that captures photos and
videos. Oh, you go, Kylie Jenner. Collecting data and serving
kitt. A pair of glasses for fashion forward perverts. It's time to rise out of the
bushes and jerk off on the runway. You've earned it, queens. But of course, in real
life, models aren't the one wearing these glasses. It's creeps like this. A growing
number of women are finding images of themselves posted on social media that they say were taken
without their knowledge. People approaching other people on the street. I thought you were kind of cute.
You have a boyfriend? It was just jarring to know that I was speaking with somebody looking them in the
eyes and had no idea that they were recording me. The man who posted the video is a content
creator from Long Island who calls himself Johnny Jester Max. What is the world coming to when you can't even
trust a guy named Johnny Jester Max.
Next, you're going to tell me I can't trust my pal, Marcus Malester Max.
Tickets to see The Odyssey next week, and he's a whiz with that popcorn trick.
What's wrong with this generation?
They can't even be perverts without trying to go viral.
Check it out, fam.
I'm the gemithy of creeping out women.
But it's not just the strangers on the street.
We're even stalking our own families.
Many of these young adults are also tracking their parents.
Teens check their family's location more than adults.
Some will text the parents when they see they are stopping for Starbucks and say,
Hey, Graham here, Rapachino, too.
Or some are pulling up to date night to join their parents out for dinner.
This is called fam bushing.
Bushing.
There is nothing heartwarming about kids showing up to block their parents.
Leave them alone.
They're just trying to bone one more time before the divorce papers are signed.
This shit would have never been okay when I was a kid.
If I did this to my parents, they would have locked up my Oval teen.
And no one!
I'm f***ed with my O.
At this point, our privacy is essentially dead.
But that won't stop some people from fighting back.
These are all examples of what's called adversarial fashion.
Clothing and accessories designed to trick facial recognition software
and to mislabeling a person as something else,
like a giraffe or a zebra.
Oh, Jesus Christ, no.
I'm not wearing that.
I'd rather you just stick a camera up my ass
than walk around looking like Bob Marley.
Ficked a Roorshack test.
Imagine wearing a shirt so ugly, even AI, is like,
nah, I don't know that.
person. But look, it's clear that this is a losing battle. So if I'm going to give my last
shreds of privacy away, I might as well look good doing it. Unbelievable. I am now fucking blind.
Accessing legitimate medical care for erectile dysfunction should be highly transparent,
reliable, and above all, affordable. Unfortunately, the steep retail markup on brand name medications
frequently prevents men from seeking the advice they need, causing them to leave the problem unaddressed.

treatments that offer total financial clarity. Through a secure cloud-based platform, users can consult easily
with licensed healthcare providers to review their specific health options. HIMS provides direct

spanning from the initial digital medical intake evaluation straight to the final product delivery.
Because prescriptions are shipped directly to the door,
the entire process is seamless from start to finish,

Maintaining optimal cholesterol wellness is a near universal priority for adults today. Yet long-term
consistency is often derailed by the delivery method. Many individuals actively avoid traditional
health care options, simply because they're reluctant to swallow oversized capsules or mix
unappealing powders into their drinks every single day. To bypass this friction, a growing
number of people are choosing to self-manage their wellness by turning to plant and mineral-forward
alternatives. Dose for cholesterol serves as a clinically-backed cholesterol support supplement
formulated to target triglycerides, HDL, and total cholesterol levels. By utilizing recognizable
ingredients like turmeric, CoQ10, and Omla. It aids vital health metrics without introducing unwanted
elements or fillers into the body. The primary benefit of this formula is how effortlessly it
integrates into a busy schedule. It's entirely capsule-free, requiring only a daily two-ounce liquid
shot that features a natural mango flavor, because the system is delivered straight to the door on a
reoccurring basis, building healthy habits and sticking to a proactive wellness routine

Daily Show. My guest tonight is an Emmy-winning actor who's currently nominated for
outstanding guest actor in the Apple TV series, Pluribus.
Please welcome Jeff Hiller.
It is so nice to have a fellow tall person out here.
I know.
Hollywood is so short.
I know. I always feel like I'm standing next to someone and I'm about to like
take him up the Empire State Building.
I look so shockingly tall.
Yeah, it feels like John Stewart always looks at me with those eyes like, will you put me
on your shoulders.
And I'm like, no, you just have to grow up a little bit more.
Oh, I always say yes.
You do.
And that's what makes you so good.
You're so kind.
You put all those afters out of your shoulders, and you just carry it.
Wee.
You are here.
Congratulations on your Emmy nomination.
Thank you.
And you.
Congratulations.
You do it for the noms, right?
Oh, that's the only reason I do it.
You have to get those nominations.
It's been a really dry 25 years.
But the last two, yeah.
You're on two hit shows, though.
You're not only on Pluribus, hit show, Emmy nominated.
You're also on Widows Bay, which everybody can't get enough of.
Congratulations.
Yeah, it's a good show.
Yes.
And you won an Emmy last year for somebody somewhere?
I'm amazing!
You're incredible.
Where's what I want it?
I'm curious, now on the street, when people say, they're like,
hey, aren't you that guy from, uh, uh, what do they say?
Well, if they're holding their heart, it's somebody somewhere.
And if they're like, are you that guy from?
It's American Horror Story.
But a lot lately, even like the lady at Nordstrom Rack,
they're like, I like Widows Bay.
Oh, yeah.
I like when you screamed in Widows Bay.
You think the Nordstrom Rack folks are really
Widows Bay people.
Well, yeah.
Bergdorf, is that more, is that more plurbus folk?
I've never been to Bergdorf.
I will be out.
I said Bergdorf.
I don't know what I'm talking about.
It's just, it's a comedic name of a,
Department store in there.
Yes.
It is a department store.
Right?
Yeah, there's probably Pluribus folk in there.
When I shop at Bergdorf, everyone notices me from Pluribus.
We can edit that back.
No, that's in there.
Okay, good.
So, Pluribus, it's, you're, you are so funny in Pluribus.
And I feel like you play.
It is a drama.
It's a drama, yeah.
I'm more, I think it's, you show up and I laughed,
and that has a little bit to do with the costume choice.
Oh, I know.
Can we see a picture of what Jeff was wearing in Pluribus?
So they put you in...
Look at my face.
I'm like, what happened?
When did they spring an outfit like that on you?
So this is a very secret show.
You know, I didn't know the concept or anything
when I auditioned.
And then I just show up to the fitting.
I still don't know the concept.
And they're like, put on this bicycle outfit, you know?
And I was like, what is this show?
had just like the slightest moment
where I was like, am I in porn?
And then Vince Gillingham was like, well, the hive mind,
they don't have pride of personal appearance.
And I was like, but I do.
As an actor.
There's vanity here.
But they did let me wear my shapewear underneath the...
Is that right?
So you have an extra layer.
You can kind of see the whale bones.
It keeps it tight.
Yeah, yeah.
Keep it tight.
Well, like, this, Thorb is such a fascinating show,
and you play a character who's also part of a larger hive mind,
but it almost seems like, as you watch it,
it's almost as if you're playing chat GPT, right?
You're interacting with people.
Have you heard this?
Yes, a lot of people have said, you're just like chat, GPT.
Now, is that a reference point you didn't know going into it,
or even in your performance, or is that talked about
with Vince Gilligan beforehand?
No, it was never mentioned until it came
I think like we shot this kind of a long time ago.
It was kind of before chat GPT was ubiquitous.
And so I hadn't really, I didn't really think about it.
I was trying to convey extreme love for her.
And instead I did chat GPT.
So that's your-
Anyway, I got an Emmy nomination for it.
Wow, yeah, I mean, there you go.
But that's the best you can do, congratulations.
Sometimes you aim for one target, you hit another.
And you're on screen for big,
seven minutes and you pull an Emmy nomination.
Are you like the Jane, Jane, Jane, Jane,
Dame Judy Dench?
No, I'm the Jane Densch.
You're the Jane Densch of the Emmys this season, right?
I am the Jane Densch, exactly.
Jane Densch, the woman that you say, who?
Who? Yeah, she was that woman from that thing
because she won an Oscar for like eight minutes on screen.
Yeah, for Shakespeare in Love, yeah.
But she was dressed up like Queen Elizabeth.
But I wore that bicycle thing, so yeah.
I'm Judy Densh.
You are Judy Debt.
God damn it.
Now, Widows Bay, I love Widows Bay.
A part of it is it has such an interesting tone to it.
It's scary, it's funny.
It's all sorts of things.
And I know the creator, Katie Diplold, is a UCB person from the improv community that you did comedy with back in the day.
I'm curious if improv is on the set or if at this level, everybody just cops to the fact that, no, it's just a parlor trick people did in their youth.
We wasted our lives.
So much time.
No, there's a little bit.
It's usually like a little improvising during the rehearsal,
and they say, yeah, you can do that one.
But for the most part, it's just an incredibly scripted thing
because, like you said, the tone is so strange
that they really have to be like, we're working really hard on it.
Yeah.
How do you enjoy, like, Pluribus and Widows Bay is such a,
those are dark shows.
I would say.
One little clown killer and it's a dark show.
There's a little clown killer.
Somebody somewhere is such a life-affirming, heartwarming show.
Two different worlds to live in.
What do you prefer?
Which everyone has the biggest check, baby.
Capitalism!
I mean, obviously somebody somewhere was, like, my heart.
But I love being at Windows Bay because it is so tonally odd and strange.
Basically, I just like to work.
So whatever is good with me.
Is there any talk about the season two?
It's going to be.
There's going to be one.
but no, they don't tell me anything.
You don't know shit.
No, because I got loose lips.
I just see you over at Bergdorf telling everybody, right?
Well, if you like pluripus,
let me tell you about this thing.
This doesn't be shoplifting.
I want to know, your Emmy speech last year
had people in tears. They loved it.
What are you going to say this year when you win?
Do you know?
I'm not going to win.
You're going to win, Jeff.
Okay, well, I'll say,
this one makes more sad, suck it.
I think that's give the people what they want to hear right
Jeff you are a delight
the Jane Booty Densch of our generation

What's affordability? What's that all about?
Prices are too high.
I said, I'm here for less than 24 hours.
But we've brought down prices last week.
it was announced that inflation's gone down faster than at any time in the last six years.
When the fuel comes down, which it did for a little while, then they didn't behave and I had to go back,
and now they're behaving again. You know, it's like playing a banjo.
