The second anti-ice shooting in Texas in three days as deportations continue.
The Trump administration announces the Jeffrey Epstein case is closed and PBS makes some
truly wild claims about why it deserves your tax dollars. I'm Tony Kenned, host of the Daily
Signals Tony Kenned cast syndicated nationally at 7 p.m. Eastern. It is Tuesday, July 8th,
2025. This is the Daily Signals top news in 10. The second attempted immigration
Customs Enforcement shooting occurred yesterday morning in Texas when an individual ambushed border
patrol officers.
Right shortly about eight or ten minutes before 6 a.m. this morning is when we react
to the call. Once we, once we were on scene and we determined we have not only a shooter that's
been neutralized, we have an active scene, but the real trigger for us to begin shutting things
down was that strange vehicle in a parking lot because we did not know whether or not there
were any other secondary or even more suspects at large or suspects or or explosive that is in a
parking lot so out of precaution we shut this whole zone down until we were able to determine that piece
of it and that is and just to just to the point that I walked up here is when we finally got a green light
that is we finally said okay all's clear as far as the that particular vehicle and we're going to be
according to Andy no little is known so far about Ryan Mosqueda the man who carried out the shooting
at the Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas before he was shot dead.
One post, no reporting finding in his Instagram, asks why U.S. Marines were not sent to the Capitol
on January 6th of 2021, but were sent to Los Angeles in response to the Mexican nationalist
riots against ice. The shooting, which injured three, follows an officer being shot in the
neck outside an ice building in Alvarado, Texas on Saturday. In that shooting, people dressed in
Black had lured the police to the area by attacking cars and smashing security cameras.
One officer was shot in the neck.
Here's Tom Holman on the situation.
Who were these suspects who were fired, who actually fired the shots and were later arrested?
Who were they, Tom?
Look, you're a typical protesters that go from protesters to criminals.
The attack and ice officers, you've covered it many times, is up nearly 700 percent now.
We were talking 500 percent a couple weeks ago.
So it continues.
The rhetoric against the men and women of ice is skyrocketing,
especially by members of Congress.
We have senators, we have Congress people
that compare ICE to the Nazis, compare ICE to races.
And it just continues.
So the public thinks, well, if a member of Congress can attack ICE,
why can't we?
So the rhetoric has to stop,
or it's a matter of time for someone,
you know, one of the ICE officers goes down
or a criminal goes down.
We already see an officer go down.
To be clear, so these were American citizens,
These weren't illegals who opened fire?
No, as far as the investigation, I want to get ahead of local investigation on this,
but they appear to be agitators, people that are protesting ice operations,
damaging ice property, want to attack ice officers.
Of note, yesterday morning, Axios had reported, quote,
what we're hearing, the grassroots once more.
Some of them have suggested what we really need to do is be willing to get shot
when visiting ice facilities or federal agencies.
A third House Democrat told Axios.
Our own base is telling us what we're doing is not good enough, that there needs to be blood to grab the attention of the press and the public, the lawmakers said.
A fourth House Democrat said constituents have told them civility isn't working and to prepare for violence to fight to protect our democracy.
A fifth House Democrat told Aksios that people online have sent me crazy bleep, told me to storm the White House and stuff like that,
though they added that there's always people on the internet saying crazy stuff.
Just people on the internet saying crazy stuff when there are two ice attack shootings in Texas in three days.
Not to mention the other domestic terror incidents around the country.

The Department of Justice announced alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation that the Jeffrey Epstein investigations have concluded.
They wrote, quote, as part of our commitment to transparency, the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have conducted an exhaustive review of investigative holdings relating to Jeffrey Epstein.
To ensure that the review was thorough, the FBI conducted digital searches of its databases, hard drives, and network drives as well as physical searches of squad areas, locked cabinets, desks, closets, and other areas where responsive material may have been stored.
These searches uncovered a significant amount of material, including more than 300 gigabytes of data and physical evidence.
The files relating to Epstein include a large volume of images of Epstein, images, and videos of victims who are either minors or appear to be minors,
and over 10,000 downloaded videos and images of illegal child sex abuse material and other pornography.
Teams of agents, analysts, attorneys, and privacy and civil liberties experts combed through the digital and documentary evidence with the aim of providing as much information as possible to the public while simultaneously protecting victims.
Much of the material is subject to court-ordered sealing.
Only a fraction of this material would have been aired publicly had Epstein gone to trial as the seal served only to protect victims and did not expose any of the material.
additional third parties to allegations of illegal wrongdoing. Through this review, we found no basis
to revisit the disclosure of those materials and will not permit the release of child pornography.
The systematic review revealed no incriminating client list. There was also no credible evidence found
that Epstein had blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions. We did not uncover
evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties. Now, this
caused quite a bit of a stir concerning attorney.
Attorney General Pam Bondi's comments following a botched release of a Phase 1 Epstein file release earlier this year.
DOJ may be releasing the list of Jeffrey Epstein's clients. Will that really happen?
It's sitting on my desk right now to review. That's been a directive by President Trump. I'm reviewing that.
I'm reviewing JFK files, MLK files. That's all in the process of being reviewed because that was done at the directive of the president from all of these agencies.
So have you seen anything there?
You said, oh my gosh?
Not yet.
There are also a couple of other discrepancies.
For example, the Department of Justice released a 10-hour video,
supposedly showing Epstein's cell,
which contradicts information previously,
given that Epstein had been able to commit suicide,
given that the cameras around his cell had switched off
or were disconnected right before the event took place.
This is definitely not jiving.
with that. Additionally, CNN had previously posted a photo suggesting that there was a
taped over cell door belonging to Epstein, which does not appear to be the cell in the footage.
The paint on the wall is different. There are fixtures, both electrical and telecommunications
that are different between the two. This ended with Peter Deucy of Fox News asking questions about
this to White House press secretary Carolyn Levitt earlier yesterday.
The DOJ and FBI have now concluded there was no Jeffrey Epstein client list.
What do you tell MAGA supporters who say they want anyone involved in Jeffrey Epstein's alleged crimes to be held accountable?
This administration wants anyone who has ever committed a crime to be held accountable.
And I would argue this administration has done more to lock up bad guys than certainly the previous administration.
And the Trump administration is committed to truth and to transparency.
That's why the Attorney General and the FBI director pledged at the president's direction.
to do an exhaustive review of all of the files related to Jeffrey Epstein's crimes and his death,
and they put out a memo in conclusion of that review.
There was material they did not release because, frankly, it was incredibly graphic,
and it contained child pornography, which is not something that's appropriate for public consumption.
But they committed to an exhaustive investigation.
That's what they did, and they provided the results of that.
That's transparency.
I'll go ahead.
Okay, so the FBI looks at the time.
the circumstances surrounding the debt of Jeffrey Epstein.
According to the report, this systematic review revealed no incriminating client list.
So what happened to the Epstein client list that the Attorney General said she had on her desk?
Well, I think if you go back and look at what the Attorney General said in that interview,
which was on your network on Fox News.
I've got a quote.
John Roberts said, DOJ may be releasing the list of Jeffrey Epstein's clients. Will that really happen?
And she said, it's sitting on my desk right now to review.
Yes, she was saying the entirety of all of the paperwork, all of the paper in relation to Jeffrey
Epstein's crimes.
That's what the Attorney General was referring to, and I'll let her speak for that.
But again, when it comes to the FBI and the Department of Justice, they are more than committed
to ensuring that bad people are put behind bars.
They have an operation going on right now called Summer Heat, which has our murder rate trending
in the lowest direction in United States history.
Their emphasis on violent crime and locking up violent criminals has led to the arrest of 14,000
violent criminals.
That's a 62% increase from the same time period last year.
So this Attorney General and the FBI Director are committed to putting bad people behind
bars where they belong, that they promised an exhaustive review.
That's what they did.
For any further details, I would refer you to the Department of Justice.
And last but not least, on CBS Face the Nation Sunday, Ken Burns, the famous PBS
a documentarian, was asked by John Dickerson to, quote, make the case for PBS.
What came out of this was definitely some interesting rationale.
Make the case for PBS.
It is the declaration of independence applied to the communications world.
It's a bottom up.
It's the largest network in the country.
There's 330 stations.
It mostly serves, and this is where the elimination of funding for the corporation for public
broadcasting is so short-sighted, it mainly serves rural areas in which the PBS signal may be the
only signal they get. They also have not only our good children's and prime time stuff, they have
classroom of the air, continuing education, homeland security, crop reports, weather, emergency
information. That we're going to take away. This seems foolhardy and seems misguided,
mainly because there is a perception among a handful of people
that this is somehow a blue or a left-wing thing
when this is the place that for 32 years
gave William F. Buckley a show.
I mean, that show, by the way, is still going on
and moderated by a conservative.
So I just think that maybe we're throwing the baby out
with the bathwater.
A couple of issues with this one.
First of all, there is nowhere in the United States
either in its states or territories where there is television reception for public broadcasting,
but not reception for anything else. In short, there's nowhere you can go, anywhere in this country,
where you're able to tune into PBS but no other television or radio stations. That's simply not true.
The idea that PBS is the only lifeline people have to official messaging has been and is completely false.
William F. Buckley's firing line was an excellent show.
But if the only example of a conservative-leaning political program that you can provide is a show by a man who has been dead for 17 years that aired 35 years ago, you might want to rethink that argument.
