The Labor Union representing Border Patrol agents endorsed Trump.
I'm Elizabeth Mitchell, and this is the Daily Signal Top News for Tuesday, October 15th.
The National Border Patrol Council endorsed former President Donald Trump at a rally in Prescott Valley, Arizona, on Sunday.
Here's the president of the National Border Patrol Council, Paul Perez.
If we allow Borders R. Harris,
To win this election, every city, every community in this great country is going to go to hell.
The untold millions of people, unvetted, who she has allowed into this country that are committing murders, rapes, robberies, burglaries, and every other crime will continue to put our country in peril.
Perez said only one man can fix the border crisis, that being the Republican nominee Donald J. Trump.
He has always stood with the men and women who protect this border, who put their lives on the line for the country,
a man who knows about putting his life on the line for what is right.
This November, we have a choice to make.
continue the chaos, allow the criminal cartels to control the border, to allow drugs and fentanyl across
our country, or put an end to it once and for all.
On Monday, the union issued a statement saying, on behalf of the 16,000 men and women represented
by the National Border Patrol Council, we strongly support and endorse Donald J. Trump for
President of the United States.
Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are neck and neck in the swing state of Michigan.
Trump leads Harris by just one point in the state that President Joe Biden flipped for Democrats in 2020.
A new poll from AARP shows the two candidates tied with 46% on the full ballot.
Trump gets 49% compared with Harris's 48% with the third party candidate excluded.
Trump maintains this one point.
among voters 50 and older, though he leads by 11 points among ages 50 to 64.
Harris, however, leads among voters ages 65 and older by 11 points.
Harris has picked up three points since the AARP Michigan voter poll in August.
The election is three weeks away, and both candidates are focusing on Michigan and
its 15 electoral votes.
Michigan is one of two major battleground states that allow overseas citizens that don't
live and in some cases never lived in their states to vote, according to the Republican National
Committee. The RNC joined state Republican parties in Michigan and North Carolina in separate
lawsuits to stop what plaintiffs alleged to be illegal overseas voting. The lawsuits assert that
both states' constitutions require individuals to be residents of the states to vote. The plaintiffs
argue that Benson gave guidance to local election officials in Michigan to extend eligibility
to overseas voters who don't live in the state and possibly never lived there.
The suit also claims that some may have never lived in the United States.
The United States will deploy U.S. troops and an advanced U.S. anti-missile system to Israel.
Pentagon spokesman, Major General Pat Ryder, said in a statement that Defense Secretary Lloyd
Austin authorized the deployment of the terminal high altitude area defense battery to Israel and the troops
to operate it at the direction of President Joe Biden.
Ryder said in the statement,
this action underscores the United States
Ironclad commitment to the defense of Israel
and to defend Americans in Israel
from any further ballistic missile attacks by Iran.
According to Ryder, the THAAD battery
will help bolster Israel's air defenses
in light of Iran's ballistic missile attacks
on Israel in April and October.
Iran fired more than 180 missiles
at Israel on October 1st.
The U.S. previously sent the FAD system to Israel for training in 2019, as well as shortly after the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel.
Biden said the goal of the move is to defend Israel. Iran warned the U.S. to keep its military forces out of Israel.
Iran foreign minister, Abbas Aragachi, said on X that the U.S. has been delivering a record amount of arms to Israel.
He said the U.S. is now putting the lives of its troops at risk by deploying them to operate U.S. missile systems in Israel.
The statement adds, while we have made tremendous efforts in recent days to contain an all-out war in our region,
I say it clearly that we have no red lines in defending our people and interests.
Those were the three full headlines for today, and we're starting a new format on the Daily Signal podcast,
where after three headlines, we're going to be pre-reveillance.
reviewing two other news stories. I'll get us started with the new segment with quick hits
number one. After the University of Nevada women's volleyball team held a vote deciding to forfeit
in October 26th match against San Jose State due to biological male player Blair Fleming,
the Nevada Athletic Department told outkick the team will still play the scheduled match.
A recent survey by Americans for Prosperity, which is a grassroots organization,
seeking to transform policy around the country, finds that most Americans oppose tax increases.
Regardless of who is in the White House come January 20th, the next president will face a deadline at the end of 2025 that could trigger a tax increase for Americans across all 50 states.
And that's all for today's episode. I hope you enjoyed the new format and thank you so much for listening to The Daily Signal's top news.
