I'm Samantha Sherris and I'm Virginia Allen.
And this is the Daily Signal Top News for Tuesday, July 25th.
Here are today's headlines.
House Republicans are inching closer to an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden
because of his family's foreign business dealings.
That's according to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, a Republican from California.
McCarthy joined Fox News's Sean Hannity on Monday to discuss further.
Let's take a listen.
Let's allege 1023 that claims that they bribed the Bidens.
This was given to the FBI.
When Bill Barr finally found out about it, he sent it to his office in Philadelphia.
They actually said that this was very credible.
The FBI kept this from the IRS individuals for them ever to see it.
So not only do they claim that they were bribed, we now find information that 16 out of 17
payments from Romania were provided to the Biden.
shale companies while he was vice president.
When President Biden was running for office, he told the American public that he's never talked about business.
He said his family has never received a dollar from China, which we now proved is not true.
We now have some of the most credible whistleblowers.
These 10-year IRS agents who have come forward said that the Biden family has been treated differently.
That what Weiss has told us is different than what Garland and Weiss has told the public.
has told the public. And you're sitting here today where now you have found millions of foreign
money, just what the 1023 alleges they did to Biden's family. Now we found that it has funneled
through shell companies. If you're sitting in our position today, we would know none of this
if Republicans had not taken the majority. We've only followed where the information has taken us.
But Hannity, this is rising to the level of impeachment inquiry, which provides Congress
the strongest power to get the rest of the knowledge and information needed.
Because this president has also used something we have not seen since Richard Nixon,
used the weaponization of government to benefit his family and deny Congress the ability to have the oversight.
Ian Sams, a White House spokesman for oversight and investigations,
weighed in on McCarthy's comments, tweeting,
instead of focusing on the real issues Americans want us to address,
like continuing to lower inflation or create jobs, this is what the House GOP wants to prioritize.
Their eagerness to go after President Biden, regardless of the truth, is seemingly bottomless.
And in other Biden-related news, the Hill reports that the president signed a proclamation
to create a national monument honoring Mamie Till Mobley and her son, Emmett Till.
Emmett Till was a 14-year-old black boy who was accused of law.
whistling at a white woman in Mississippi, according to ABC News.
Emmett was kidnapped, brutally tortured, and lynched in 1955 in Mississippi.
His body was dumped in a river where he was found a few days later.
Biden spoke earlier this afternoon at the White House.
Let's take a listen to his comments via CNN's YouTube.
To the Till family, it's an honor to be with you again.
You know, when I was preparing these remarks, I quite frankly, and my colleagues will understand this,
I found myself trying to temper my anger as I was writing it.
I'm not joking.
I can't fathom.
I can't fathom what it must have been like.
It's hard to believe I was 12 years old.
And I just, you know, I know.
no matter how much time has passed, how many birthdays, how many events, how many
anniversaries, it's hard to relive this. It brings it all back we're talking about Rev,
as if it happened yesterday, the images in your head and things you remember. But it's
inspiring to see how many of your family have continued as mother's courage to find
faith in pain, purpose of pain. That's a remarkable thing, it seems to me. Insisting on an open
casket for her murdered and I might add maimed and mutilated son, 14 years old, 14 years old,
she said, let the people see what I've seen. According to a White House fact sheet,
the National Park Service will manage the Emmett's.
Till and Mamie Till Mobley National Monument, which comprises nearly six acres across three different
historic sites in both Illinois and Mississippi. The sites include Grable Landing, Roberts Temple
Church of God in Christ, and the Tallahatchee County Second District Courthouse, according to the White
House. Democrat representatives Summer Lee of Pennsylvania, Ayanna Presley of Massachusetts,
and Robert Garcia of California have introduced legislation known.
as the Equality
in our Laws Act.
The legislation,
according to Lee's website,
would enshrine
gender equity
in the U.S.
legal code
by replacing
masculine generics
with gender neutral
language.
In a statement,
Lee said,
words matter,
especially the words
that form the foundations
of our country's
rule of law.
It's not shocking
that for generations,
the U.S. Code
intentionally wrote
out women,
black, brown,
queer, and marginalized
folks.
She also said, in 2023, it is unacceptable that the U.S. Code perpetuates sexist social structures
and reinforces gender stereotypes and social discrimination.
Garcia said in a statement, America has long been a beacon of freedom and equality in the world.
Yet our legal code, the very foundation of our society, continues to use a language that isn't reflective of the country's diversity.
It speaks in masculine generics, silencing women and folks who are a significant part of our diverse community.
And finally today, the first family's German Shepherd, Commander, has reportedly been a number of Secret Service agents.
Judicial Watch reported today that it received almost 200 pages of records from the Homeland Security Department
showing that Commander attacked officers and Secret Service agents 10 times between October 22 and January, 23.
Judicial Watch obtained the records through a FOIA or a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.
A November 3rd, 2022 email says that Commander bit an officer twice before being transported to a hospital.
According to the Associated Press, Elizabeth Alexander, who serves as the Communications Director,
for Jill Biden said that the White House complex is a unique and often stressful environment
for family pets and that the Biden family was working through ways to make this situation
better for everyone. The Biden's got commander back in December of 2021.
