Immigration enforcement operations continued despite protests and harassment.
Two Chinese nationals are arrested on conspiracy, smuggling, and visa fraud charges in a possible
bioterrorism plot.
And Steve Hilton shares his vision as a Republican candidate for California governor.
I'm Tony Kennett, host of the Daily Signals Tony Kennett cast, syndicated nationally at 7 p.m.
Eastern.
It is Wednesday, June 4th, 2025.
This is the Daily Signals top news in 10.
Immigration enforcement operations continue around the country most recently in South Carolina.
So there were 116 arrest warrants served. These were warrants that were already on file.
Both criminal warrants and warrants with our immigration partners and they can talk about that.
Of those 116 arrest warrants, 80 individuals were actually served those warrants.
I understand in that nightclub, and then we'll talk a little more about the illegal activity going in there, probably over 200 plus people that were in that club.
That's a lot of criminal element in that nightclub that was in there.
Of those were two high-level cartel members that were arrested, including those that were with the Las Zetas cartel and from the Trendy Aragua gang.
We've also identified a number of potential trafficking victims who were removed from that situation and are being assisted.
We had one missing juvenile that was recovered in that location.
We say it again.
We had a juvenile that we ran who was missing, a missing person.
We're digging out a little more to find out why that missing individual, missing individual wound up in that situation.
But y'all can only imagine.
So we'll continue working on that.
There was one international warrant, a murder suspect warrant, that was served and located
that individuals from Honduras wanted for murder by Interpol.
We identify 10 underage juveniles.
Again, this is an unlicensed, unsanctioned bar.
Check no IDs.
Didn't matter.
So when bars close at 2 at 3 o'clock, people started coming.
They just come in here.
No matter how old they did not check, but 10.
10 of them were juveniles, our youngest that was removed from that situation was 13 years old.
Additionally, yesterday the ATF and other DHS agents were seen in Minneapolis
arresting presumed criminal illegal aliens.
Under contention, Minneapolis Democrat Mayor Jacob Frey suggested to various news organizations
that Minneapolis police were not allowed to assist with the ICE raids,
but this is contested by many leftists in the city who've been posting pictures.
of individuals with MPD badges and insignias on them, setting up blockades and assisting with the
federal raids.
It would be in violation of state law in that there are specifically enumerated powers that
police have under state law, and this is now one of them.
It would be in violation of our separation ordinance at the city.
But even if that wasn't the case, I'm mayor.
We have a chief of police.
and we get to decide where to prioritize our limited law enforcement resources.
We want police focused on catching murderers, stopping homicides, preventing carjackings.
And quite simply, trying to search for undocumented immigrants is just not a threat to safety like these other issues.
Notably, a series of protesters chanted a couple of unfriendly things at the DHS agents,
calling for them to leave and that the illegal aliens that were being arrested were their neighbors.
Check it out.
Things got just a bit physical in one moment after a protester placed what appears to be their arm or their hand
on the firearm held by the DHS agent, who then shoves the protester away forcefully.
The crowd does not respond well.
I would be remiss if I didn't show you some of the footage from independent journalist Brooker T.
Jones of individuals protesting in Minneapolis standing on top of a tipped over recycling bins and
yelling and just other varieties of shenanigans.
I'm on the streets in Minneapolis, Minnesota right now, and I just walked upon an ice
ring.
There are protests out here.
Extremely angry.
My heart's reading really fast because I cannot even believe I drove a pond house.
This is what is going on right now.
And students in Massachusetts protested yesterday and Monday over the arrest of Marcelo Gomez de Silva, an 18-year-old who immigrated to the United States illegally from Brazil.
Milford staff and students marched from the high school all the way here to Town Hall to send a clear message.
They want to free Marcelo.
He was an 18-year-old student who was taken by ice Saturday morning.
He was on his way to a volleyball practice when ICE agents detained him.
Meanwhile, two Chinese nationals have been arrested on charges relating to a possible bioterrorism plot.
According to a post from FBI director Cash Patel yesterday evening, quote,
I can confirm that the FBI arrested a Chinese national within the United States
who allegedly smuggled a dangerous biological pathogen into the country.
The individual, Jung, is alleged to have smuggled a dangerous biological pathogen into the country.
dangerous fungus called fussarium Griminarium, which is an agro-terrorism agent into the United States
to research at the University of Michigan where she works. This fungus can cause a disease
called head blight, a disease of wheat, barley, maize, and rice, causing significant health
issues in both humans and livestock. It is responsible for billions of dollars in economic losses
worldwide each year. Evidence also indicates that Gian had expressed loyalty to the Chinese
Communist Party and had received funding from the Chinese government for similar work on this
pathogen in China. Jean's boyfriend, Zun Yong Lu, also charged in the complaint, works at a
Chinese university where he conducts research on the same pathogen. Liu is alleged to have
first lied, then admitted to also smuggling fussarium griminarium into America through the Detroit
Metropolitan Airport so that he too could conduct research in the University of Michigan.
Both individuals have been charged with conspiracy, smuggling goods into the United States, false statements, and visa fraud.
This case is a sobering reminder that the CCP is working around the clock to deploy operatives and researchers to infiltrate American institutions and target our food supply,
which would have grave consequences, putting American lives and our economy at serious risk.
Your FBI will continue working tirelessly to be on guard against it.
our FBI Detroit team did excellent work in this case partnering with Border Patrol.
And last but not least, Steve Hilton, once an advisor to British Prime Minister David Cameron,
has taken on running for governor of California as a Republican.
We sat down with Hilton to talk a little bit about his vision for lowering gas prices,
reducing regulations, and moving California in a positive direction. Check it out.
I love your use of the term experimental. Sometimes the way I put it,
And I had this in my book that came out a few weeks ago, Califalia, reversing the ruin of America's
worst run state, which is what California obviously is. And I said, you know, what's really been going on
here is that we have been subject to this ideological experiment. That's what it is. And the results are in.
It's a disaster on every front. And I sometimes say they've treated this beautiful state as the
Wuhan lab of far-left extremism, just like cooking up this virus. And it's just a nightmare.
Look, here's the thing. For too long, I think Republicans in California have not put up a strong
enough fight and put forward a clear enough, inspiring enough alternative.
You know, people's, I mean, on every single measure, you know, whatever you look at,
we have the highest. I mean, let's just take the stuff that Democrats love, you know,
smugly to pat themselves on the back on, compassion and social justice and equity.
Okay, great. The state that they've run, single-handed, 15 years of one party rule,
has the highest rate of poverty in America.
Let's just take that one, right?
You have AOC and Bernie running around California
on their fighting oligarchy tour,
talking about how we're going to have, you know,
we're for the working class.
The working class in California have been completely hammered
by those exact policies, by the Bernie AOC policies.
For the most of the last 12 months,
we had the highest rate of unemployment in America.
We have the highest cost for everything.
Housing, rent, gas, electricity, water,
the worst business climate, the lowest income growth, out of all 50 states.
You know, we're not like middling somewhere in the middle of the pack,
the worst outcomes on everything that matters as a result of this 15 years of one party rule.
And I think that now is the time to get out there and take it to these people.
The way that they have destroyed opportunity and economic security for Californians is a crime.
And we're going to hold them accountable for it.
But they've never had anyone really holding them accountable.
who understands what they've done,
the policy alternatives that can put it right,
and to mount a strong energetic campaign.
That's what I'm doing here in my run for governor.
We'll include a link to that down in the description.
And speaking of the description, before you go,
