Ford was built on the belief that the world doesn't get to decide what you're capable of.
You do.
So ask yourself, can you or can't you?
Can you load up a Ford F-150 and build your dream with sweat and steel?
Can you chase thrills and conquer curves in a Mustang?
Can you take a Bronco to where the map ends and adventure begins?
Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right.
Ready, set, Ford.
Minnesota Democrat officials use the Ascension Catholic school shooting for political leverage.
California Governor Gavin Newsom is the second major Democrat to call for increased law enforcement in the wake of President Trump's National Guard success in D.C.
And Virginia Allen joins us to pick apart the quiet at the southern border and the disquiet in Mexico City.
I'm Tony Kennett, host of the Daily Signals Tony Kennett cast, syndicated nationally at 7 p.m. Eastern.
It is Friday, August 29th, 2025.
This is the Daily Signals, Top News in 10.
One 12-year-old child is still in critical condition at the time of this recording in Top News in 10,
a victim of the Ascension Catholic School shooting in Minneapolis on Wednesday.
Additional information about the shooter, the manifesto, letters, plans, etc., confirmed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation,
is still being obfuscated and omitted both by the Minneapolis Police Chief,
other Minnesota Democrat officials, as well as legacy media outlets.
For example, the police chief of Minneapolis stated that there was no evidence as of yet
that would lead them to a conclusion as to the motive of the shooter.
We will do our best to determine and identify a specific motive.
What we have seen so far is this is an individual who, unfortunately, like so many other
mass shooters that we have seen in this country,
too often and around the world had some deranged fascination with previous mass shootings and very
disturbing writings that demonstrate hatred towards many different individuals and different groups of people.
Contrary to evidence, the police chief also suggested when asked if there might have been a mental
illness that played into this particular shooting, the police chief responded that there was no
diagnosed mental illness and then obfuscated.
Is there any kind of mental health diagnosis that anyone is aware of?
There is no diagnosis that I'm aware of that I can share.
I can tell you we are not aware of any state-ordered mental health commitments for this individual.
Mayor Jacob Frye, Democrat Mayor of Minneapolis, later pushed back as well on CNN when asked as to whether or not the individual's transgender mental instability had something to do with this.
Obviously, I've heard about the rhetoric and the narrative that is being pushed out, but here's the thing.
Anybody that is going to use this as an opportunity to villainize our trans community or any community has lost touch with a common humanity.
Jacob Fry, when not saying that he stood with the transgender community, used the situation to stage a couple of different events, political events with moms demand action.
as well as a lot of network TV hits, calling for gun bans and talking at length about how there
are more guns than people in the country. Here are a couple of those clips.
We need a statewide and a federal ban on assault weapons.
Have more guns in America than we have people. The reality is, is that we have these assault
rifles that can reel off 30 clips in conjunction with a magazine before the person needs.
even needs to reload.
The reality is that these guns make their way
into cities across America.
Put a button on that, Mayor.
What people who own guns will say is,
it's because I love my children that I own this gun.
I want to be able to protect them if an intruder comes in,
if I am the victim of a crime.
What do you say to those sorts of advocates?
First off, I hear them.
And by the way, we're not talking about
your father's hunting rifle right now.
We are saying that we have far too many guns in this country.
Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota also suggested that although Minnesota has a couple of pretty strict gun laws, the state of Indiana is rather close.
You know, in Minnesota we have strong gun laws, but Indiana is not that far away from us.
And so we have to recognize as, you know, people who live in the United States.
States, you know, a community like Minneapolis or just the state of Minnesota taking action does not prevent our neighbor from coming and harming one of our community members.
Senator Amy Klobuchar also took the opportunity to say that despite all available evidence, there's no way to pin an ideology on this.
These kids did extraordinary things, but they never should have been put in that position in the first place.
This was a madman. He was an all-purpose hater, by the way.
hated groups left, right, you name it.
There's no way to pin an ideology on this.
According to the evidence, this is just patently untrue.
This particular transgender anti-Catholic shooting
is part of a string of anti-Catholic and anti-Christian as a whole
crimes which have increased in the United States,
up 730% since 2018,
415 hostile acts against Catholics and Christians in general
since the beginning of 2024.
And while outlets like New York Times and USA Today instead attempted to link this particular shooting to shootings which occurred back in 2015 and 2016 and had very little if anything to do at all with the ideology, the motives, the manifestos, the writings of this particular shooter, they did obscure and omit other shooters from transgender or non-binary individuals that listed a lot of the same motives, again, provided by,
the videos, the manifestos, the documents, the maps, and the letters from the shooter,
including the Nashville 2023 shooting, the Colorado Springs shooting in 22, the Highlands Ranch,
Colorado shooting in 19, and the shooting in Aberdeen, Maryland in 2018.
All of those a lot more recent than anything major media outlets over on the left suggested.
Additionally, CNN journalists like Jake Tapper made quite a fuss over whether or not he was
getting the pronouns right of the shooter yesterday.
Minneapolis Star Tribune says, according to court records, because there's been some confusion
about what the shooter's name was.
Yes.
Robin Westman's mother applied to change your child's name.
In 2019, it was at one point Robert Paul Westman.
Correct.
But since she identifies as a female and wants your name to reflect that identification was
underage, it's now Robin Westman.
Meanwhile, California Governor Gavin Newsom, when he's not posting
rather insensitive social media posts suggesting that prayer is ineffective because there were children
shot while they were praying in Minneapolis. Newsom is now the second major Democrat in the country
to call for increased law enforcement policies and measures in the wake of President Trump's
success in dispatching the National Guard to Washington, D.C., which has drastically reduced
just about every kind of crime in the metropolitan area of the nation.
capital. An effort that will now take shape on the border division down in San Diego. We're going to
advance this effort down in L.A. to other parts of the Central Valley, not just limited to Bakersfield
in partnership with Mayor Go there in San Bernardino. And we're going to expand this operation
in a collaborative that continues to include the cities and counties. Our partners in the sheriff's office
and local law enforcement agencies.
We continue as well to work with the federal partners.
Kathy Hokel, the governor of New York, is the first,
calling on judges in New York to stop letting bad guys out of jail.
Of note, when Newsom was then asked by a reporter
if this had maybe anything to do with President Trump
and working with federal forces,
Newsom beat around the bush a little bit
and then abruptly ended the press conference.
Do you believe that crime is problematic in health
bringer or not?
Well, I'm sort of a curious question.
I made the entire point that crime's an issue and we want to tackle it.
And we continued to do more in that space.
And we announced and highlighted some of the expansion,
what is not contradictory, respectfully.
Quite the contrary.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
And last but not least today,
our senior news producer and the host of problematic women, Virginia Allen,
returned from her trip down to El Paso, Texas to take a closer look at the southern border.
Here's what she had to say in our interview last night.
It's very quiet at the southern border.
We spoke with the interim Border Patrol Chief for the El Paso sector, Chief Walter Schlosser,
and he really detailed how things like ending catch and release and adding security through cameras,
through sensors, through increased border wall, how all of those factors have led to just dramatic decline.
He really harped on the fact that if you don't want people to come, then stop paroling them into the country.
He said, you know, that's the biggest factor, that if one person comes and they're allowed to stay,
well, then the next day you're going to have 100, the next day you're going to have 200,
which is obviously exactly what we saw under the Biden administration.
And because the individuals that are showing up at the border, they're not being paroled in the country,
they're being turned away.
So the word is out.
The border's closed.
No one is coming.
Yeah.
It's always a joy to get down there and work.
with the law enforcement hear from them. How are they doing? Morale is way up. They're very open about that.
They're really pleased by the situation. They even said, you know, some days it's kind of slow
around here and we get a little restless. But there remain very much so on high alert. And they really
stress that because the people that are willing to risk crossing now, those are the people we
really do not want in the country. We'll include a link to that interview down in the description.
It's a good one you want to check it out.
