Starting point is 00:00:25 We'd love to talk. Business. A mass shooter in New York City kills five, including an NYPD officer. President Trump brokers a ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, and the left loses it over an American Eagle advertisement. I'm Tony Kinnett, host of the Daily Signals, Tony Kinnett cast, syndicated nationally at 7 p.m. Eastern. It is Tuesday, July 29, 20, 25.

Starting point is 00:00:51 This is the Daily Signal's top news in 10. Yesterday evening at about 6.30 p.m., an individual was seen entering 3.45 parking, Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, a 44-story office building housing organizations such as the NFL headquarters, Blackstone, KPMG, and Bristol-Myers Squip. Surveillance footage showed him casually walking into the skyscraper with the AR-15-style rifle in plain view. The shooter opened fire outside and then inside the building targeting civilians and an off-duty New York City Police Department officer, leaving a casualty report at present of four civilians and the New York City Police Department officer. The gunman was later seen on the 33rd floor via a CCTV camera committing suicide.

Starting point is 00:01:41 The shooter was later identified as Shane Devin Tamura, a 27-year-old from Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a licensed private investigator with a concealed carry permit which was revoked in 2022. A vehicle with Nevada plates was registered to him and found near the scene. No motive at the time of this particular recording has been identified or confirmed, and I'm not going to feel comfortable enough to participate in some of the rumor mills suggesting what he may or may not have been shouting just yet. If there is anything confirmed or any recordings emerge, we will show those as is appropriate over on the Tony Kiddott cast this evening at 7 p.m. Eastern. One thing we will heap scorn on is some of the speculating from CNN. During the initial reports of the shooting suggested that the individual was possibly white.

Starting point is 00:02:27 Who he is? They do not know who he is. They know he is a male, possibly white. He's wearing sunglasses. He appears to have a mustache. And that picture has been distributed to every police officer in New York City, particularly has been sent to the phones of the search teams inside that building. Because whenever they encounter a group of people,

Starting point is 00:02:56 the first thing they have to figure out is, is that individual among these people hiding among victims or pretending to be? be an office worker. Because one thing you don't want to have happen is to have this kind of cordon where you're trying to evacuate people in groups as you can get them to a safe corridor and have this person slip out with them. So yes, they have the picture and they have distributed to everybody on the scene. All right. All right. John, stay with me. I know you're obviously getting information here in real time as we're talking. Whether or not the analyst was using the possibly white description to make some type of a political statement or

Starting point is 00:03:33 not through early generalization. I'm not going to speculate. It's just something that CNN is receiving a lot of criticism for suggesting early on in the incident. The shooter was, at least it appears to be black with a mix of perhaps Japanese origin. Again, that's not necessarily fully known at the moment. I'm sure we'll have all of the details out for you this evening over on the Tony Kennedcast. And if there is additional information, perhaps some more light as to whether or not this was directly politically motivated, an accident, or something else entirely. And yesterday, President Trump also celebrated brokering a ceasefire between the nations of Cambodia and Thailand would begun to enter a hot war considering a border dispute that had already

Starting point is 00:04:16 resulted in dozens dead with both of the militaries entering full mobilization and things starting to get a lot worse in the entire Southeast Asian area. Here's President Trump on what eventually led to the ceasefire. Well, Thailand's a very big trading partner. Bodea less or so, but they do a lot. And I saw that I read in a lot of different places, including years, Breitbart, that they were really going at it. And they do.

Starting point is 00:04:44 You know, they've had many conflicts and wars over the years. I guess it was a 500 year period when I spoke to them. They said 500 years. They said, that's a lot. But now it was raging and raging hard. People were being killed at the border a lot. And I said, listen, we're doing a trading deal. And I said to Thailand, I started, we're doing

Starting point is 00:05:02 a trading deal and I'm not going to do a deal of you going to be killing each other. And I spoke to Cambodia, said essentially the same thing. I dealt with the two prime ministers. They were terrific people. And they don't want to see a war, but somebody had to implement what I did. And we started a series of discussions back and forth, back and forth. And within less than a day, we have it settled. And I guess now, based on what you're saying, they've just said we're going to have peace. That's great. Millions of people are going to be saved. You know, those wars turn out to be a disaster.

Starting point is 00:05:35 Millions of people get killed and it's total disruption. It takes them 40 years to recover. And we were able to stop it before it really started. Although, you know, a lot of people have already been killed. As Carolyn Levitt, the press secretary for the White House, pointed out via an article with Breitbart, the President of the United States is now averaging about one ceasefire and trade deal per month. And last but not least,

Starting point is 00:06:01 the political left has been focused on a series of advertisements from American Eagle, a clothing company that too many of us wore in middle and high school, advertising with Sidney Sweeney, a popular model where she talks about having jeans and then chaos ensues. Jeans are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like her color, personality, and even I color. My jeans are blue. Sydney's Twini, Caspery Keynes.

Starting point is 00:06:32 Critics over on the left attempted to paint this as some type of dog whistle to Nazi fascism and eugenics. Should we be surprised that a company whose name is literally American Eagle is making fascist propaganda like this? Probably not. But it's still really shocking. Like a blonde-haired, blue-eyed white woman is talking about her good genes. Like, that is Nazi propaganda. Now, as a former science teacher who did, in fact, teach middle school biology to Indiana's finest middle schoolers, Interphase, prophase, we did go over punnet squares and genetics in the traits that you do inherent from your parents quite a bit.

Starting point is 00:07:18 It's one of the state standards. It's also a state standard in every single one of the 50 states before you even get to high school biology. So I'm not necessarily seeing the constructs of white Nazism. some kind of call to keep genetics pure. Here's one individual of a certain opinion claiming that Sidney made some call to genetic purity. Totally just talking about denim, right? Just a blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman

Starting point is 00:07:46 explaining how her good genes gave her personality and purity. I mean, are we really going to pretend that this isn't a little fashy-coded? Look, I'm not saying that Sidney-Sweeney personally wrote this ad to revive the Third Reich, but American Eagle absolutely knew what they were doing here. You don't get to drop lines about inherited traits, blue eyes, and great jeans while zooming in on somebody that could have walked straight off of a Nazi propaganda poster and expect people not to catch that reference. There's just no evidence of that whatsoever. That's not a claim made by Sidney Sweeney. It's simply a play on words that genes spelled G-E-N-E-S sounds a lot similar to J-E-A-N-S, which the company is trying to sell at the moment. Many have pointed out that this is a return to the more traditional 1980s era advertising in which an individual of a certain level of attraction broadcast some type of product in order to sell it, unlike Dylan Mulvaney and other more DEI-centric advertisements that have been popular in the corporate sphere over the last decade. Hi, impressive carrying skills, right? I got some bud lights for us.

Starting point is 00:08:52 So I kept hearing about this thing called March Madness, and I thought we were all just having a hectic month, but it turns out it has something to do with sports. And I'm not sure exactly which sport, but either way, it's a cause to celebrate.
