President Trump signs an order to deploy the National Guard to Memphis, Tennessee.
He also suggests he would designate Antifa a terrorist organization, along with possible
RICO charges, and major left-wing streamers ratchet up calls for violence.
I'm Tony Kinnett, host of the Daily Signals, Tony Kinnett cast, syndicated nationally at 7 p.m. Eastern.
It is Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
This is the Daily Signal's top news in 10.
Yesterday, President Trump signed an executive order deploying the National Guard to Memphis, Tennessee,
one of the highest crime cities in the United States.
Stephen Miller, the deputy chief of staff, explained a couple of the reasons behind this move into Memphis.
President Trump's initiative here in Washington, D.C., is important to understand,
is the most successful anti-crime initiative in American history.
But just think about it for a second.
In 30 days, President Trump put together a team that saw the largest ever violent crime reduction in any city in American history.
Some of the people had not been able to do in 40 years.
That is a momentous achievement.
And now the president is going to take that same model to Memphis.
And as he said, more cities after that.
The team that president has put together has no equal today or anywhere in American history.
And what's happening here is that what the president has done,
is made clear. The power of federal law enforcement that was used for the last four years
to harass and attack conservatives, to harass and attack Christians, to go after law abiding
families, the power of law enforcement under President Trump is going to be used to get all
the criminals, all the violent offenders, all the cartels, and all the domestic terrorists
off our streets. So whether you're Antifa, whether you're a domestic terrorist, whether
you are a violent gang member, a drug trafficker, a train to airwomen, a train to airwark.
or anyone else is hurting our people. President Trump is saying he's going to use his FBI,
his DOD, his ATF, his DEA to wipe you out, to put you behind bars, to take you off the street,
or to apply whatever legal consequences necessary. Mr. President, I'm honored beyond words to be a part
of this team under your leadership, as you've saved thousands of lives.
Governor Bill Lee of Tennessee, a Republican who had initially deployed National Guard troops
from Tennessee to assist in Washington, D.C., echoed his support
for the president. First of all, thank you. Thank you. Thank you for your commitment for
federal resources to the great city of Memphis. And it is a great city. And it has a great history
and a great legacy. And we are very hopeful and excited about the prospect of moving that city
forward. I've been in office seven years. I'm tired of crime holding the great city of Memphis
back. And I have spoken today with the director of
The U.S. Marshals, with the director of the FBI, with General Bondi, we realize that this effort of multi-agencies that will combine the work of the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the local police departments, when we come together, we can make significant change in our city and the city of Memphis.
And that is a powerfully important thing for the state of Tennessee, and I want to say thank you.
This will be your proudest moment when we see you in four or five weeks, maybe sooner.
You're going to see numbers that will drop and plummet like you have.
Just like we did in D.C., they plummeted.
Nobody can even believe it.
And they're going to plummet.
It'll be one of your really proud moments, and you've done a good job here.
But this will be your, maybe your proudest moment.
Thank you.
And the director, as the director said, the goal is sustained.
Right.
I've got to keep it.
Sustained crime lowering.
And that with this effort,
I believe we can get there.
We can finally get there for that city.
Yep.
We're going to have it sustained a long time.
Your people are going to get better and better.
And your police force has been terrific.
They're working with us very much, as you know.
We started it, as I said, in a little basis, and we got it down quite a bit.
But now we go in for the big march.
And Director Patel and his team have done remarkable work so far.
The numbers are great.
And this will be one more step in the right direction for Memphis.
Democrat, Mayor of Memphis, Paul Young,
expressed his displeasure at the idea of the National Guard being deployed to the city.
We know the National Guard is coming. My plan is to make sure that as mayor, I'm able to work
with this community, with the governor, with the federal government, to ensure that the support
that is provided supports the initiatives that we know work and not distract from our law
enforcement efforts. There are questions that you all have that I'm not going to be able to give
you an answer to today. But my team and I will be discussing those questions with the governor
and the federal government. When will they come? How many people are going to come? How long
will they be here? What are they going to where? Where are they going to be geographically in the
city? What assignments will they have? Those are all questions that we have and that we
are going to work through together as a community. And the group that you see here today, as I mentioned
earlier, it represents a diverse range of Memphis. I can tell you that there are some that
supported and some that don't. But we're all right here together today. Because one thing we do
have in common is a love for this city. President Trump this morning on Fox and Friends said that
you were happy about this.
Would you see that that statement is accurate?
Yeah, that was an overstatement.
I am focused on the resources.
FBI, D-E-A, ATF, those are the things that I believe
will truly help us be able to support law enforcement
and reduce foul and crime.
I do not support the National Guard.
However, they are coming.
It's not the mayor's call.
The mayor doesn't have a say or the authority to stop them to come.
And so my goal is to make sure that as they come, that I have an opportunity to work with them to strategize on how they engage in this community.
The president also suggested, while taking a couple of questions from the press in the Oval Office,
that he would consider designating Antifa, a terrorist organization, along with possible RICO anti-corruption charges.
regarding those who might be funding them.
I think with all the events going on for Charlie first assassination and the left-wing violence going on.
Do you have plans and action this is a great opportunity with a whole thing?
Do you plan on designating Antipo family a domestic terror organization?
Well, it's something I would do.
Yeah, if I have support from the people back here, I think would start with Pam, I think.
but I would, if you give me, I would do that 100% and others also.
Vice President J.D. Vance, while hosting the Charlie Kirk show yesterday,
outlined what some of these possible left-wing organizations that might be investigated are.
There is no unity with people who scream at children over their parents' politics.
There is no unity with someone who lies about what Charlie Kirk said in order to excuse his murder.
There is no unity with someone who harasses an innocent,
family the day after the father of that family lost a dear friend. There is no unity with the people
who celebrate Charlie Kirk's assassination. And there is no unity with the people who fund these
articles, who pay the salaries of these terrorist sympathizers, who argue that Charlie Kirk,
a loving husband and father, deserved a shot to the neck because he spoke words with which they
disagree. Did you know that the George Soros Open Society Foundation and the Ford Foundation,
the groups who funded that disgusting article justifying Charlie's death, do you know they benefit
from generous tax treatment? They are literally subsidized by you and me, the American taxpayer,
and how do they reward us by setting fire to the house built by the American family over 250 years?
I am desperate for our country to be united in condemnation of the actions and the ideas that killed my friend.
I want it so badly that I will tell you a difficult truth.
We can only have it with people who acknowledge that political violence is unacceptable and when we work to dismantle the institutions that promote violence and terrorism in our own country.
And lastly, major left-wing streamers continue to ratchet up.
calls for violence following the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Stephen Bonnell the second, otherwise known as Destiny, went on Pierce Morgan to suggest that
if you wanted Charlie Kirk to be alive, then Donald Trump shouldn't have been president
for the second term.
I think that liberals need to wake up and finally realize that if they're not willing to do it,
it will never come down.
If you wanted Charlie Kirk to be alive, Donald Trump shouldn't have been president for
the second term.
Every time he's in office, this happens.
People joked about when Biden came in, it was so boring, nothing was going on.
Seven out of ten of the largest protests in American history have happened under Donald.
He also went on his own stream to tell his followers that they need conservatives to be afraid of getting killed when they go to events.
Right now, they don't feel like there's any fear.
Shout the crime statistics?
Not exactly like.
I need, you need conservatives to be afraid of getting killed when they go to events so that they look to their leadership to turn down.
down the temperature.
The issue is right now, they don't feel like there's any fear.
Like, I don't know, I don't know, it's like memes.
It's just memes to everybody, I guess.
I don't know, bro.
I don't care.
I'm playing beer games.
