It is April Fool's Day, Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
This is the Daily Signals. Top News in 10.
On to headlines which actually happened.
Today marks a crucial election in the state of Wisconsin deciding the balance of power in the state's Supreme Court and likely two seats in the United States House of Representatives.
Conservatives and libertarians have largely supported Brad Schimmel, a constitutional originalist, while liberals and progressives have supported living documentarian Susan Crawford.
After George Soros and affiliated groups pumped in more than $20 million from outside the state in support of Crawford,
Elon Musk threw last-minute rallies in support of Schimel.
Musk and affiliated groups spent a total of about $17 million.
If you're tuning into the show from Wisconsin, please go vote.
New polling data sheds light on how Americans view the Tesla domestic terror incidents and the Trump administration so far.
46% of voters say that the attacks on Tesla and Tesla vehicles are a form of domestic terrorism.
39% disagree, with the remainder saying they were not sure.
67% of Republicans say it is a form of terrorism, while 57% of Democrats disagree and say it is not.
19% of voters in total think that the attacks on Tesla and Tesla vehicles could be justified.
This includes 29% of Democrats.
All data in this survey highlights the reality that the opinions about Tesla,
like those about SpaceX and previous polls, are driven by partisan politics.
Of note, 21% of voters say that they are at least somewhat likely to buy a Tesla for their next car.
This total includes 28% of Republicans and 15% of Democrats.
A CBS UGov poll shows that Americans largely,
approve of how the President of the United States has handled immigration policy, with 53% approving
of his immigration measures so far. This beats out their view of the Trump administration in the
economy, with 48% of Americans approving of how the Trump administration has handled the economy,
and 44% approving of how the Trump administration has handled inflation so far.
Trump's overall job rating is an even 50-50. Trump's efforts to cut staff at government
agencies has an even 50-50 approval and disapproval rating.
Speaking of the Trump administration's approval rating regarding illegal immigration,
Trump's administration's program to deport illegal immigrants in the United States to El Salvadorian
prisons and their countries of origin currently has a 58% approval rating.
El Salvador President Nayib Buckele announced that Sunday night, a joint military operation with
allies from the United States consisted of the transfer.
of 17 extremely dangerous criminals linked to the Trend de Aragua and MS-13 gangs to El Salvador.
President Buckele said all individuals are confirmed murderers and high-profile offenders,
including six child rapists.
Yesterday evening, federal judge Edward Chen in San Francisco blocked the Trump administration
from ending temporary protected status for 350,000 Venezuelans in the United States for now.
There were permits and protection from removal was set to be terminated next week.
Judge Chen wrote,
The Secretary's action threatens to inflict irreparable harm on hundreds of thousands of persons
whose lives, families, and livelihoods would be severely disrupted,
cost the United States billions in economic activity,
and injure public health and safety in communities throughout the United States.
At the same time, the government has failed to identify any real countervailing harm
in continuing temporary protected status for Venezuelan beneficiaries.
The judge did not rule how this was subject to judicial review regarding eight U.S. Code 1254A on whether or not the Secretary of Homeland Security has the authority to terminate or extend any kind of designation by a group that was from a previous administration awarded some kind of status.
Additionally, the judge did not cite how this was in any way, shape, reformed the interpretation of either the Constitution or a
federal law. White House Press Secretary Carolyn Leavitt responded to accusations that the United States
was simply deporting individuals because of their tattoos. You can get classified by simply having
certain symbols in your tattoos and wearing certain street wear grants. That alone is enough
to get someone classified as TBA and sent to El Salvador. That's not true, actually, Andrew.
According to this document of this. No, according to Department of
Homeland Security and the agents, have you talked to the agents who have been putting their
lives on the line to detain these foreign terrorists who have been terrorizing our communities?
TDA is a vicious gang that has taken the lives of American women.
And our agents on the front lines take deporting these people with the utmost seriousness.
And there is a litany of criteria that they use to ensure that these individuals qualify
as foreign terrorists and to ensure that they qualify for deportation.
And the president made it incredibly clear to the American public that there would be a mass
deportation campaign of not just foreign terrorists, but also illegal criminal aliens who have
been wreaking havoc on American communities.
And shame on you and shame on the mainstream media for trying to cover for these individuals
who have, this is a vicious gang, Andrew.
This is a vicious gang that has taken the lives of American women.
And speaking of illegal immigrants in the country, Representative Jasmine Crockett of Dallas made some curious statements regarding the economic impact of illegal immigrants in the country.
To be clear, undocumented folk contribute approximately $100 billion in taxes.
They pay into Social Security and they don't get to draw down on it.
So stop again allowing them to divide us and to demonize them.
There is no data which supports the assertion that illegal immigrants contribute $100 billion annually to the United States tax system.
Crockett also made a very racist series of statements about Representative Byron Donald's of Florida and his interracial marriage on her radio appearance with self-proclaimed Charlemagne the God.
And if we continue to put people into office, and that even means some of our skinfolk who definitely are not our kinfolk,
such as Byron Donalds, who are going to continue to say that, like, I mean,
the fact that you sitting around talking about life was better under Jim Crow?
Like, is this because you don't understand history?
Or literally it's because you married a white woman and so you think that that whitewash you,
I'm not really sure, like, what it is.
But I need to be married to a white woman under Jim Crow.
Correct. Correct. And it's a joy to call him out.
So I'm like, bro, like, what is you talking about?
Like, what are you saying? Like, he just out here, you know, I feel like they give him a
talking points and he's like, yes, massa, I got it.
And in an effort to maintain the Americans' focus on LGBTQ plus issues, despite the impact of the
2024 elections, Michigan's Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer made this statement about the
Transgender Day of Visibility. Today is Transgender Day of Visibility when we celebrate and
recognize Michigan's trans community. While so many states in the federal government are
attacking transgender Americans, Michigan is forging a different.
path. In Michigan, we love each other, respect our neighbors, and believe in every person's
right to be their best selves. Our message is simple. We see you, we love you, and we got
you back. And an ACLU lawyer appearing on a PBS interview publicly refuted the claim that
there are men competing in women's sports. The policies that are claiming that transgender women
in sports are men are wrong. The president is lying when he says that there are men in
personating women and participating in women's sports.
There are no examples of men personating women
that I am aware of.
And it is incorrect to refer to transgender women
and girls as men and boys.
And what these executive orders do,
what these laws do is open the door to sex-based police.
And lastly, according to a senior Iranian official
who spoke recently with the Telegraph,
top military commanders in Iran's armed forces,
as well as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps,
are being urged to prepare a, quote, preemptive strike
using long-range ballistic missiles against the U.S. UK joint base
at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean in an attempt to deter U.S. President Donald J. Trump
from ordering major strikes against Iran.
This follows the arrival of six nine B-2 spirit long-range strategic stealth bombers
from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri at Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia last week,
a little more than 2,000 miles from Iran.
A different Iranian official suggested that these missiles might be fired towards the base,
but not at the base as a sign of aggression and a lack of fear at the United States
and President Donald Trump suggesting that if Iran continues in its nuclear program,
then the United States and or Israel might issue a preemptive strike against the nuclear facilities.
Iran's former parliament speaker who serves as the –
Supreme Leader's advisor and special envoy,
warned that any U.S. or Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear sites
would force Iran to develop nuclear weapons.
How Iran would develop nuclear weapons if their nuclear sites was bombed,
he didn't quite make clear.
Don't be an April fool.
