It has been slow and totally ineffective. Individual states should handle storms, et cetera, as they come. Big savings? Far more efficient.
Starting point is 00:01:23 Trump's statement comes as the Department of Homeland Security announced Tuesday morning it's firing for employees responsible for making payments to house illegal aliens in luxury hotels in New York City. A statement from a DHS spokesperson said, effective immediately FEMA is terminated in New York. the employment of four individuals for circumventing leadership to unilaterally make egregious payments for luxury New York City hotels for migrants. The four employees being fired include FEMA's chief financial officer, two program analysts, and a grant specialist, according to the spokesperson.
Starting point is 00:01:57 The terminations of the FEMA employees come one day after Elon Musk wrote on X that the Department of Government Efficiency discovered FEMA sent $59 million last week to luxury hotels in New York city to house illegal migrants. He cannot use, sell, or possess any data gathered from donors to the We Build the Wall scheme. President Donald Trump signed an executive order bringing back plastic straws on Monday afternoon. His order directed the federal government to stop purchasing paper straws and ensure they are no longer offered in federal buildings. The order says, the irrational campaign against plastic straws has forced Americans to use non-functional paper straws this ends under President Trump. The president also signed an order a lemon.
