Polster Frank Luntz says Joe Biden's garbage comment could motivate Americans to vote for Trump.
I'm Virginia Allen and this is the Daily Signal Top News for Thursday, October 31st.
President Joe Biden and the Harris campaign are still facing some backlash after Biden called Trump supporters garbage.
This time, the criticism is coming from Congress.
Republican members of Congress are introducing a resolution condemning Biden's comments.
Tennessee Republican representative John Rose is introducing the measure later this week.
He told Fox News Digital, first, Democrats call half the country deplorables.
Now they are doubling down, calling us garbage.
Democrats disrespect for half the country's views and opinions is exactly what is wrong with
the leadership of extreme far-left liberals.
Trump used the comments from Biden to his advantage in Wisconsin yesterday.
Trump put on a safety vest and drew.
drove around in a big white garbage truck with a Trump sign plastered on the side of the truck.
Elon Musk called it genius level trolling.
Trump sat in the truck.
He took some questions from press and criticized Biden for calling his supporters garbage.
I think that the comment paid by really both of them because there's really two of them about being garbage, maybe 250 million people.
They shouldn't be talking.
That's like deplorable for Hillary.
This is the deplorable for Hillary.
and I think this is worse, actually.
For Joe Biden to make that statement, it's really a disgrace.
Poster Frank Luntz says that Biden's garbage comment might damage Harris's campaign.
Biden made the comment in reference to a comedian at a Trump rally who referred to Puerto Rico as an island of floating garbage.
But Luntz told CNN that Biden's comments carry very different weight than those of a comedian's.
Because this is not some comedian saying something stupid and offensive at a rally where he should have been just basically disinvited.
This is the president of the United States endorsing his vice president saying something.
And I know that there's different interpretations about what he said.
It's still inappropriate.
Luntz said that this comment could be a turning point for the final 3% of voters who still need to make up their mind on who they're voting for.
Already ABC News reports that 59 million Americans, 59 million, have cast their votes in this election.
With such a thin margin of voters left to convince, both candidates are making their final appeals.
Trump was in Wisconsin last night and he told voters that he will protect women, whether they like it or not.
My people told me about four weeks ago, I was saying, no, I want to protect the people.
I want to protect the women of our country.
I want to protect the women.
sir, please don't say that. Why? They said, we think it's, we think it's very inappropriate for you to say.
I said, why? I'm president. I want to protect the women of our country. They said,
they said, sir, I just think it's inappropriate for you to say, pay these guys a lot of money. Can you believe it?
And I said, well, I'm going to do it whether the women like it or not. I'm going to protect them.
Harris was also in Wisconsin on Wednesday night, and she has been critical of Trump for claiming that he would protect.
women, whether they like it or not. Harris told reporters on Thursday today that she thought
Trump's comments were offensive to women. And listen, it's just, it actually is, I think,
very offensive to women in terms of not understanding their agency, their authority, their right,
and their ability to make decisions about their own lives, including their own bodies.
And this is just the latest on a series of reveals by the form of.
president of how he thinks about women.
Well, we do only have five days left until the election.
Tonight, Harris is speaking in Reno, Nevada, and Las Vegas.
And Trump is speaking in Henderson, Nevada.
For voters on both sides of the aisle, election integrity is important, and it's also a
concern this election.
In Michigan, CNN reports that a Chinese national voted in this election, the 2024
presidential election.
Now he's been charged with voter fraud and perjury.
The man is reported to be a 19-year-old student who lives in Ann Arbor. Election officials say that they cannot remove his ballot. Michigan voters with disabilities also have been told to be careful while using Dominion voting systems. Newsweek reports the machines generate an air message if a voter selects the straight party option at the start of the process, but then cast their vote for candidates of different parties later on. The Michigan Department of
State says this issue won't change anyone's vote, but it may make voting inconvenient for those
with disabilities. Moving further west to Colorado, the Colorado Secretary of State's office
appears to have accidentally posted a document online that includes the passwords for voting systems.
The information was in a spreadsheet that reportedly had a hidden tab with the passwords listed.
A spokesperson for the Colorado Secretary of State's office told News 9 that the Department
is working to remedy this situation where necessary.
The passwords that were shared are reportedly the passwords needed to configure system settings
on those voting machines. The spokesperson for the Colorado Secretary of State's office
explained that there are two unique passwords for every election equipment component, which are
kept in separate places and held by different parties. Passwords can only be used with physical
in-person access to the voting system. And in Pennsylvania, Fox News reports that district
District attorneys and election officials in Lancaster County and York County are looking into potential
election-related fraud. The investigation was triggered after authorities received large batches
of voter registration materials from a third-party organization. Now let's hit our flash news for the
day up first. Gary Shapley is an IRS whistleblower. He previously testified before Congress
about corruption within the Biden family and his testimony did play a role in Hunter Biden's
felony convictions. Now, just the news is reporting that Shappley has been given an ultimatum,
either accept a forced transfer, a demotion, or leave the IRS entirely. You can check out today's
show notes for that full report. Meat lovers, listen up. The dietary guidelines advisory committee
was assembled under the Biden-Harris administration. The Washington Free Beacon reports that the group
is preparing to push alternative forms of protein over
meat. Specifically, the group allegedly plans to issue dietary guidelines for Americans that will
formally recommend beans, peas, and lentils to take precedence over meats like chicken and beef.
Tonight, you all might be catching top news between handing out candy to trick-or-treaters.
It's estimated that Americans have spent about $4 billion on Halloween candy this year.
Last night, President Biden handed out candy to kids at the White House and a photo of Biden pretending
to chomp on the leg of a baby, dressed as a chicken, has gone viral. But the baby didn't seem to mind.
With that, that's going to do it for today's episode. Thanks for joining us here for the Daily Signal's
