Donald Trump made a high-profile visit to Madison Square Garden ahead of stops in several swing states this week.
I'm your host, Rob Lewy, and this is the Daily Signal's top news for Monday, October 28th.
All eyes were on former President Donald Trump Sunday for his sold-out event at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The arena drew thousands of MAGA supporters to Midtown Manhattan.
Politicians and entertainers set the stage for Trump's appearance.
Hulk Hogan, who is no stranger to MSG from his days as a wrestler,
said the energy in the building was unlike anything he had experienced before.
Usually when I'm in Madison Square Garden, I'm body slamming giants.
I'm winning world heavyweight titles, and I'm cracking people over the heads with steel chairs.
And the energy in Madison Square Garden is off the Richter scale.
But today, Trumpomaniacs, the energy in here,
is something like I've never felt.
The energy of all these Trumpomaniacs is the most powerful force in the universe.
And today, this is Donald Trump's house, brother.
Trump took the stage after an introduction from his wife, Melania.
The Daily Signals, Virginia Allen, highlighted the key takeaways from the event.
Like most rallies, his speech covered a range of topics, including immigration.
And here's what Trump had to say about his plans.
on day one.
The United States is now an occupied country,
but it will soon be an occupied country no longer.
Not going to be happening.
Not going to be happening.
November 5th, 2024, nine days from now,
will be Liberation Day in America.
It's going to be Liberation Day.
On day one, I will launch the largest deportation program in America.
American history. Can we get two criminals out?
Trump is in the swing state of Georgia today and heads to Pennsylvania on Tuesday.
Keep tabs on the Daily Signal for our latest coverage of Trump and Kamal Harris all week long.
A new exclusive report from the Daily Signal today reveals that an FBI agent who investigated multiple January 6th cases
contributed more than $7,000 to Democrat candidates and causes, including President Joe Biden's 2020 race.
Relying on campaign finance records and an investigation from the Heritage Foundation's oversight project,
Fred Lucas and Mike Howell report that FBI special agent Clark G. Burns made 152 political donations.
Burns donated six times to the Lincoln Project, a political action committee that opposes Donald Trump.
Burns works in the FBI's Washington Field Office and wrote numerous affidavits in cases related to the
Capitol riot of January 6, 2021, and the arrest.
of defendants who were there. The Daily Signal made several attempts to contact Burns for comment
by email, phone, and text message. You've heard plenty of warnings from corporate news outlets about
how conservatives might react to a Kamala Harris victory in the 2024 presidential election,
but how would the left respond to a Trump victory? Well, the Wall Street Journal spoke with
more than a dozen influential progressives who are, quote, dreading the prospect of Trump's
return to power. It turns out that they simply can't believe that half the country
thinks so differently from them. And here's the scary part. Some are bracing for unrest.
Quote, we've looked at different countries, activist Melissa Fierro told the journal,
and I really think it's going to be that bad if he wins. The journal reports that hundreds of
people recently attended what's called a mass training for women's safety teams,
while others are planning to protest at women's marches this coming weekend.
They are even having pill-packing parties in Boston where volunteers fill boxes with abortion kits to mail to women in red states with strict abortion limits, the journal reports.
Now, RMG research president, Scott Rasmussen told the Daily Signal that no one should be surprised for the losing side to reject the election's outcome.
Yeah, look, 60% of Democrats still believe Hillary Clinton was the legitimate winner in 2016,
65% of Republicans think that Donald Trump was the legitimate winner in 2020.
So I tell people right now that the safest prediction you can make is that the losing team this year,
whichever side it is, will believe that the other team stole the election.
Listen to my full interview to learn more about Rasmussen's latest polling,
some late-breaking surprises to watch, and the top Senate races that he's following.
Now for today's quick hits, where we share a brief rundown of other top news of the day.
The National Institutes of Health could be hiding the effects of puberty blockers.
Those are the drugs often given to minors as part of so-called gender-affirming care.
In a letter to the agency's director, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida
wants to see the NIH-funded study from more than nine years ago.

Jeff Bezos's decision not to allow the Washington Post to make an endorsement for president has infuriated the staff, two of whom have quit.
It also caused readers to cancel their subscriptions.
The paper's op-ed pages had two columns and about 15 letters decrying the decision.
And that'll do it for today's episode.

Coming up on tomorrow's show, my colleague Elizabeth Mitchell interviews Daily Wire podcast host
and bestselling author Andrew Claven about his new book.
You know, the problem that I was trying to solve is how to write a book about America today
without writing a political book because you can't really describe America without talking about politics,
where everything is politics, it takes up all our consciousness.
divides families, it divides friends.
And so what I've done is I've sort of taken the issues out so that I'm not lecturing people
on what I think, how I think they should vote or what I think they should think.
And just describing the anger, the division, the ideological capture that's taking place.
The book is called A Woman Underground and was released earlier this month.
Tune in to hear Andrew Claven's interview tomorrow.
