we want to go to the movies how we need to go to the movies and you know what now that i'm fully vaccinated pick a time joelle we're going did you check the box office for this weekend yo you know what i was thinking i'll do one of those uh get the rent one of those small theaters out so you blow it out with like 20 homies and then it's so inexpensive to do that first of all so yes i'm a thousand percent about it and it's cheap if you do an old movie like if you go see back to the future it's like a hundred bucks yeah they don't give a shit they're like that's five bucks a projector done did you see the box office for this weekend no okay so fast and furious which is a movie i want to take you to see oh yeah yeah hundred million dollar box office weekend i think of six is the accurate number on that.

Movies are back, y'all. Yeah. And they are because we got a new trailer. I think the first trailer for Eternals. Chloe Zhao directed Marvel flick. Who the fuck are you? You got now. I'm glad you're here because I don't know who the fuck these people are.

But I love the trailer. I was like, I don't know who the fuck these people are. But I love the trailer. I was like, I don't know any of these characters. So the Eternals are superheroes that came to Earth like way back in the day. And they live undercover. Like they're not out here like Superman. There's no giant ass on their chest. A little more low key. I wasn't going to go that far. But but sure we can compare i will i really respect you for being out

there and brave enough to stand in that help me to be at the the troublemaker in sunday school which i used to be please don't bring up jesus like that miles is not a joke okay ask the right questions okay if you can't answer it that's on you it's not on the child um so yeah so they have been here for a long time a lot of the wonders of the world were just bolstered by them like hey must appear you're not we're gonna help humanity in the background but now avengers are all out in the front of scenes lots of people doing big stuff their big enemy we imagine is coming we didn't really get to see who was coming and yeah so they're there to me like i don't

really know too much beyond what i just told you about the eternals i'm gonna be honest uh i'm a dc girl so when we start getting into the four five six tiers of marvel my knowledge becomes a little hazier yeah yeah same what thrills me about this movie is chloe xiao who is the second woman ever to win director best director at the oscars she did it for her film nomadland is that after katherine bigelow yes damn okay two there are two uh she's also the second female director for marvel so she's just out here breaking ground but the first director of any of the marvel movies who's won a best director category. And you can already see it in the trailer. These shots are gorgeous. You'll want to live inside of them.

There's a Bollywood scene in this, which I'm so, so, so excited about. It looks stunning. I'm talking giant twirly dresses and mosaic floor patterns. Ben Davis is going to be the DP or the cinematographer. He's done captain marvel

guardians of galaxy dr strange so he knows what's up but then like okay so those two are not like good enough for you i hope i'm saying his name right i think i am ramin jawadi of game of thrones fame is responsible for the score so like it's gonna be off the walls good and obviously disney marvel is getting into their fantasy bag with this which is great because i think superheroes can only remain grounded for so long before the suspension of disbelief gets kind of tired. Also like you done talked about the military complex. Like it's,

we've gone through it with all the movies starting with iron, like the very first one was mostly about that. So we can now move on to more like universal expansive thoughts. We get into some deep philosophy in phase two. Like what does it mean to be a hero? Those are sort like the background thing yeah when do you intervene when do you not what's your place with your responsibilities yeah very yeah a lot of parallels and also so many game of thrones faces fucking was it did i see rob stark's face in there karen tenn is here richard madden is here both that's rob stark's fame yes richard madden okay i don't know their real names i saw john snow and i saw rob stark they are in here i don't know if they're playing

brothers again or what their relationship is but it's gonna be great also angelina jolie jemma chan who is to me the most um iconic person who's not yet an icon right like jemma chan when you see her you're like this woman is a goddess like she's dawning and like in an eternal beautiful kind of way plus she's just damn talented uh i'm really excited because they wasted her wasted her in captain marvel so congratulations jimmy chan on getting an actual character you deserve and then uh some hike is in here and above kumail nanjiani so this cast beautiful talented people i don't say this salma we already knew you were in eternal uh before you were even in clearly because i don't know what the fuck kind of aliens are you sorting with uh but anyway shout out to that cast and the film does look

fantastic so uh yeah that'll be good 53 is also trending um because i mean these might be people who might believe the eternals is a documentary oh no because they are so willing to just consume open mouth just no thought given propaganda because there was a new poll that came out that seems to indicate that 53 percent of republicans in this ipsos uh poll believe that donald Trump is still the actual or he's just the president, that he's actually the president. Not like he's my president. 61% believe the election was stolen. So I think maybe they're saying by that logic, therefore, Trump is the true president. I would just like us all to please remain vigilant. Like, just keep your eyes open.

And I know we're dealing with a lot, as I will continue to talk about until it's actually here. Summer is coming and we are vaccinated. We're about to be in these streets. I think we give ourselves two months.

It's really going to be up to us to make sure that everyone's voting rights are intact so we don't F up ourselves. Like it will only have ourselves to blame. I think we were in a very perilous situation and it's horrifying.

Oh, yeah, it's already very perilous because we're like the little shards of rights we have left still. So we can vote in a group of Congress people who are gonna just drag anyway yeah i just took on a huge case about like abortion and i am holding my breath i don't oh my god it's no i mean this is yeah and again this was the thing that many people were saying why the trump presidency is going to be so disastrous on top of just him being the president that he has determined one third of the supreme court um and made it comfortably conservative and uncomfortably fucked up for the rest of us talk to people you know that still believe trump is president convince them don't don't lay off don't disconnect stay in their face be hot about it

educate them if you have that energy uh let me know your secret. The other thing that's trending is Kevin Spacey, because he is apparently going to be allegedly he's cast in a film where he is playing a pedophile. So that's something that's happening. A falsely accused pedophile, mind you. So it's kind of. do we keep allowing this to happen and what does it mean in the greater life of span of things and why does our society keep trying to uphold pedophiles and allowing them to make money and create projects when they are clearly putting actual children in danger uh you can jamie loftus explores that tries to understand it um and it's great but fuck kevin spacey and please don't go support this movie yeah and luckily uh he's playing the detective who's investigating stop it so stop it he's the one bringing justice you see how i did that see how see how his agents did that flip flop okay and finally wonka is trending along with timothy chalamet because he is playing young wonka yonka lost in yonkas uh with the young wonka i don't know i don't care cool i don't he i mean timothy chalamet does have like definitely somebody who was in like a classmate with willie wonka like if i was dissing

timothy chalamet i'm like look at you look like you would you would with willie wonka like if i was disintimidated child man like look at you look like you would you would fucking willie wonka's he would cheat off your tests homie and candy school and wonka school but he's playing him in a like young a young wonka sort of biopic thing i don't know where is if this do people want is the overlap of the chalamet heads uh do they want to see him as young wonka this sounds like it's going to look exactly like alice in wonderland did a decade ago when they were like wouldn't it be great if johnny depp played the mad hatter because he's kind of kooky yeah uh hollywood i beg you i beg you stop doing this stop it okay give me the aladdin remake okay it's i listen i'm not gonna put a point here a lot of people are doing it but everyone should stop doing this. Stop it. We need the Aladdin remake. Listen,

I'm not going to put it plain here. A lot of people are doing it. But everyone should just stop. The number of people I know with incredible and I'm not even saying this as their friends, but legitimately incredible scripts with interesting perspectives, not being able to get their shit off the ground because they're not famous enough. And what if

no one wants to see it? That's why you have a PR team to create an engine so that people do want to go. No, no, we're not in that business. We're we do very passive development here where we just know based off the description, if it makes money, we can't think of we can't think outside the box here. Last remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. And what are you even exploring? There's so much happening in society right now. And it's not even great escapism.

Like, what is the point? Like, why? It right now and it's not even great escapism like what is the point like why it's not the adventure is not that great okay somebody's version was it was all this time and it was great and it holds its place and it's very nice i don't understand what we're exploring and like are we gonna talk about like the obesity epidemic are we gonna talk about how a lot of chocolate is mined by um people who are enslaved are we like what is what is the point oh yeah yeah like the cacao to procure it yeah that requires slave labor um no no no no it's gonna be timothy chalamet wearing ripped jeans and dancing and singing but you know what they're probably going to do the thing where he goes and gets the oompa loompas and my guess is they're

gonna make him a white savior of the oompa loompas. And he's saving them by having them work in his chocolate factory. I almost guarantee it. And it's going to really bum me out. No, it's going to be like Last of the Mohicans, where he teams up with them and saves them by fighting against the colonizers. But it still is a white savior tale that they don't realize because they just thought, I don't know, that would be. Could you imagine that's what it is? It sounds, and listen, I have a hard time figuring out how they're going to not screw it up.
