One was the protege of Charles Manson. 26-year-old Lynette Fromm, nickname Squeaky. The other, a middle-aged housewife working undercover for the FBI. Identified by police as Sarah Jean Moore. Starting point is 00:01:07 or wherever you stream podcasts. What happens when a professional football player's career ends and the applause fades and the screaming fans move on? I am going to share my journey of how I went from Christianity to now a Hebrew Israelite. For some former NFL players, a new faith provides answers. You mix homesteading with guns and church. Voila! You got straight away.
Starting point is 00:01:33 They try to save everybody. Listen to Spiraled on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, I am Lacey Lamar. And I'm also Lacey Lamar. Just kidding, I'm Amber Revin. What? Okay, everybody, we have exciting news to share. We're back with season two of the Amber and Lacey, Lacey and Amber show on Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network. This season, we make new friends, deep dive into my steamy DMs, answer your listener questions, and more.
Starting point is 00:02:01 The more is punch each other listen to the amber and lacy lacy and amber show on will ferrell's big money players network on the iheart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts just listen okay or lacy gets it do it hello the internet and welcome to this episode of beggars can't be chugers uh courtesy of FungibleToken at Shore Josh. Score Josh? I don't know, man. FungibleToken. What is that?
Starting point is 00:02:33 Fungi Bowl? Okay, whatever that is. Fungi Bowl. So, okay. So, shrooms and then toke. Oh, hell yeah. All right, bro. Hell yeah, bro.
Starting point is 00:02:44 I'm Jack. That's Miles miles these are some of the things that are trending uh succession is trending season three trailer is out uh i have been pretending like i'm caught up on succession i haven't actually seen season two uh for some reason i just keep stopping like a couple episodes in um even though i really like that show so i am gonna get caught up like you just oh you like you keep having like i can't i can't okay i thought you had a faulty like application something and it keeps stopping that would be in keeping with uh my past couple days where i have had tech issues at home came to the office to record, had the same tech issues here.
Starting point is 00:03:25 You're like in the shittiest Stephen King book where you must have done something, but the worst thing to happen to you is just like your Wi-Fi sucks all the time. Yeah. This is important. Adam Devine talks about how he has a tech ghost that follows him around, but it's clear he's just like bad at technology yeah that's a fine line but like i i know how easy it is to convince yourself of a
Starting point is 00:03:52 ghost on any given thing like i have a curtain rod ghost you know yeah we talked about that when langston was on fucking getting near me i haven't put up curtain rods there's something and it could just be my lack of skill and lack of patience but i call that a ghost um i have an ikea putting ikea furniture together ghost oh it's not do you are you that are you do you have the like tormented moment where you know you you put in a pivotal piece backwards 17 steps past you're like 17 steps some of them are irrevocable man like some of the steps are like they're like sorry oh that's backwards from now on oh yeah well don't like don't like push it in all the way well now it's ruined it's like well i can't even well i should be able to pull that
Starting point is 00:04:37 part like oh no no no nope that's why you shouldn't buy the tororgbjald chair. That shelf is just going to be corkboard colored from now on, unfortunately, because you put it in upside down. Anyway, Succession 3. So you and Super Producer Brian were talking before we started recording that this is exciting. Season 2 was good. Oh, yeah. I mean, it's just more like the ride we're in for the ride now
Starting point is 00:05:06 i gotta know what's going on um and you know i only watched it because both you and anna were always talking to each other about the first season and how much you liked it and i was like man i'm funny talking about succession and then i started watching it and i'm yeah so i'm along for the ride baby i'm along for the ride yeah it's got some of the great characters the uh brother or son-in-law is one of the great characters I don't know
Starting point is 00:05:34 what kind of season 2 he has but his season 1 Tom is he's a British actor who apparently he has like a greatest performance of the year, like cameo in, um,
Starting point is 00:05:49 that movie, the intern, uh, that was like basically about the Weinstein thing as the Weinstein thing was happening. It was like about a, uh, intern at a film studio,
Starting point is 00:06:00 I think, or like some sort of, uh, you know, workplace. And it turns out they're like covering up all sorts of awful shit. And he comes in as like the HR fixer and apparently just crushes it. But it's,
Starting point is 00:06:14 it's interesting that like a, a polite British guy has, has just nailed this like version of like American corporate pathos. Right. Right. Yeah. I can't believe i want to say so much now but you have to watch season two because it ends with a banger which makes this you know
Starting point is 00:06:34 you know how these shows that have their shit together do they leave you wanting more at the finale so you tune in for the next season and they did exactly that well speaking of uh tuning in for the finale mike lindell you know we're all he has us all eagerly awaiting august 13th yeah because that's when president my president donald trump uh will finally be confirmed uh to have been president all along or re-presidented uh re-sworn in. I don't know how it's going to happen. I just know that by August 13th, right, we're going to know? Yeah, we're going to know. And, I mean, and honestly, you know, he couldn't have picked a greater day
Starting point is 00:07:13 than August 13th, Friday the 13th, for this to happen, even though there's no mechanism in any of our laws that allow for a mid-season switch up of the lead um where suddenly donald trump is like yep and that's legal and that's what happened joe biden take this l because you know you lost it's not so that's not happening i don't well and again this is why we're in a very uh you know delicate place or i'd rather we're fucked because there's too many people who really think this shit that donald trump actually had the you know the election stolen from him um so this kind of shit will keep trending unfortunately so august 13th is trending
Starting point is 00:07:57 because mike lindell said that's the date by which we will things will have dropped. Yes. Mm-hmm. Uh-huh. Yep. Exactly. And again, MAGA Twitter is like, they're acting like they just found out when the new PS6 was dropping or something. Like, mark your calendars. It's happening. But I don't know. This is such a weird shard of MAGA world, the real holdouts for this version of what happens.
Starting point is 00:08:24 But again, I don't know. You know, he's been kicking this can down the road for months now, saying it was going to be this day, it was going to be this day, it was going to be this day. But, you know, I guess. I think you mispronounced shart. Oh, yeah, shart, sorry. Yeah, is there anything that they're pointing to that they're like,
Starting point is 00:08:40 this judge has agreed with us, or's all just it's all just you know continuing to be uh i think this is mike lindell expertly finding a way to drum up business for his dying pillow company that has been absolutely blasted off the face of the earth because of his you know whole investment in perpetuating the big lie and all this because people don't aren't fucking with my pillow unless you are a maga head literally your head is maga hat and now they're the only people that will buy your shit so the only way what the you know what i mean like people can only have so many pillows so he has to keep doing this shit because the other thing is that i see now and as i look at the trending things and i'm more focused on
Starting point is 00:09:31 the right wing accounts that are sharing this there are a few of these influencers who are on like the right wing who um are posting discount codes for my pillow along with all the trending words um with the announcement like for example breaking port mike lindell says the morning of august 15th trump will officially be president again he's putting every he's put everything on the line stand with those that stand with america support american jobs and then it's like use code at my pillow to get 66 off so you know i i okay you're y'all gonna fuck everything up for these people just because the pillow business is dying but what example it is really cruel like it's
Starting point is 00:10:13 real it's really uh not not a lot of respect shown by the the this specific contingent of grifters for for their marks yeah the trump presidency or the re-election or whatever trump's organization is that is grifting people and signing them up for multiple payments and bankrupting them and uh let's do it it's always it's just interesting because it's always one level deep. It's just like, hey, and you can get a free pillow if you give us your social security number. Please, because you're a patriot. Let's do a little sports talk radio with the Jack Dog and what's your name? Miracle Miles.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Miracle Miles. Miracle Miles. That's pretty good. So hit me with the Euro Cup date. Euro Cup date. Uh-oh. Well, I mean, right now as we speak, Spain and Italy are playing in a semifinal, which is tied at nil-nil.
Starting point is 00:11:20 I don't know. Obviously, I won't know the result of that unless I am Biff Tanner and I have the sports encyclopedia that will tell me, but I don't know obviously i won't know the result of that unless i am biff tanner and i have the uh the sports encyclopedia that will tell me but i don't um but yeah that is a game that's happening and then in the other semi-final we have england and denmark uh denmark man they've played a really solid i mean they've just been scoring they've been doing their thing ever since uh christian erickson collapsed in that first match that was really scary i think that helped rally the team oh that's them yeah they so now they're in a semi-final uh is he still playing oh no no no no no no no no okay he's he's he needed a defibrillator uh put in and things
Starting point is 00:11:57 like that and yeah he he had a serious like you know cardiac event um right but yeah so english fans they're loving it over the weekend uh they had a real handy win over ukraine that you know i think they gave up a little bit in the second half when they felt that the lights were fully out so that allowed a few more easy headed goals in um i was uh that was i that was one of the few games that i watched okay matches that i watched and yeah, England looks good. I mean, they're like when you, you know, they put the wins and losses and draws next to the team name when they're listing these games.
Starting point is 00:12:35 And like England's just like got a lot of Ws. They do. They got a lot of Ws, but not when they count, you know, which is the ones that get them into a final and then ultimately lifting a trophy at the end of a tournament. got a lot of w's but not when they count you know which is the ones that get them into the final and then ultimately lifting a trophy at the end of a tournament and i think that's what all english fans want but they have a really good you know for all like they had this previous generation of players like when wayne rooney was playing and stephen gerrard you may have heard of these types
Starting point is 00:12:58 of players that was like their golden generation and now they have all these younger players to the point where like when you see people come off the bench you're like oh shit that's right they're they're fucking deep right now yeah so they have a good shot so you know uh maybe for all the three lions fans i hope it comes home like you want it to uh harry kane absolutely massive that's my my catchphrase for this hero company. Whenever you meet someone from the UK, oh man, you're from the UK? Harry Kane, absolutely massive. All right, man. How'd you like that?
Starting point is 00:13:34 He probably loved it, right? How'd I do, man? You want me to take this on video, send it to one of your cousins back home? NBA Finals game one tonight between the Phoenix Suns, who look to be firing on all cylinders the milwaukee bucks uh who i don't even know is janice back uh but they they've you know gutted it out even with janice hurt they uh yeah chris middleton game time is what they say Shop maker baby Shout out to the cities of Milwaukee
Starting point is 00:14:08 And Phoenix Long time coming Phoenix had all those great Steve Nash teams That never really made it to the finals Barkley got kind of close too Barkley did make it to the finals But you know Never won it
Starting point is 00:14:22 I don't think either of them have been in the fight or uh yeah i guess i guess since barkley the suns haven't and milwaukee i think it's been since like luau cinder um man that's a minute yeah it's been a little while that was i remember that the 93 finals with barkley and j. I remember because that's when I realized that that whole postseason is really when you saw some of that straight-up murder ball that they would play. And you knew. The refs damn near left their whistles in the locker room.
Starting point is 00:15:00 And you would see real fucking tough physical play. And I always just think back. I'm like, man, man, Dick Bavetta knew how to let those playoff games cook. That was a season that I think required them to change a rule because Barkley just put his enormous ass into people and just backed them down for like 15 seconds until he was like at the basket and they were like all right we can't can't do that that's really boring and weird to watch um but anyways
Starting point is 00:15:33 uh would be dope to see chris paul win a title would be dope to see uh yannis win a title and we're gonna get to see one of those things so and in the i know hey if chris paul loses everyone's gonna say he's cursed um and i don't want him to i don't want i want him to grow out of these terrible you know he's had such bad luck um yeah i can't even believe i'm saying this shit anyway good good luck to all of them yeah you it's also you think those state farm commercials are real so you think that he's yeah he's really bad luck like he's always turning into a basketball and shit or a deer broke into his house and yeah i'm like all the shit bro you got talk about somebody who fears the deer he's got bigger problems than the nba yeah uh he's got he's got alfonso ribiero uh trying to steal his identity uh yeah yeah you hate to say it you hate this you really do yeah um all right let's take a quick break we'll be right back
Starting point is 00:16:32 i've been thinking about you i want you back in my life it's too late for that i have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project. All you need to do is record everything like you always do. One session. 24 hours. BPM 110. 120.
Starting point is 00:16:58 She's terrified. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not. What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything?
Starting point is 00:17:14 You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm. Listen to Dream Sequence

This show is la plática like you've never heard it before. We're breaking the stigma and silence around sex and sexuality in Latinx communities. This podcast is an intergenerational conversation between Latinas from Gen X to Gen Z.
Starting point is 00:17:54 We're covering everything from body image to representation in film and television. We even interview iconic Latinas like Puerto Rican actress Ana Ortiz. I felt in control of my own physical body and my own self. I was on birth control. I had sort of had my first sexual experience. If you're in your señora era or know someone who is, then this is the show for you. We're your hosts, Diosa and Mala,
Starting point is 00:18:22 and you might recognize us from our flagship podcast, Locatora Radio. We're so excited for you to hear our brand new podcast, Señora Sex Ed. Listen to Señora Sex Ed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. How do you feel about biscuits? Hi, I'm Akilah Hughes, and I'm so excited about my new podcast, Rebel Spirit, where I head back to my hometown in Kentucky and try to convince my high school to change their racist mascot, the Rebels, into something everyone in the South loves, the Biscuits. I was a lady rebel. Like, what does that even mean? The Boone County Rebels will stay the Boone County Rebels with the image of the Biscuits.
Starting point is 00:19:00 It's right here in black and white in France. A lion. An individual that came to the school saying that God sent him to talk to me about the mascot switch. As a leader, you choose hills that you want to die on. Why would we want to be the losing team? I'd just take all the other stuff out of it. Segregation academies. When civil rights said that we need to integrate public schools, these charter schools were exempt from that. Bigger than a flag or mascot. You have to be ready for serious backlash.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Listen to Rebel Spirit on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, everyone. I am Lacey Lamar. And I'm Amber Ruffin, a better Lacey Lamar. Boo. Okay, everybody, we have exciting news to share. We're back with season two of the Amber and Lacey, Lacey and Amber show on Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network. You thought you had fun last season? Well, you were right. And you should tune in today for new fun segments like Sister Court and listening to Lacey's steamy DMs.
Starting point is 00:20:02 We've got new and exciting guests like Michael Beach. That's my husband. Daphne Spring, Daniel Thrasher, Peppermint, Morgan Jay, and more. You got to watch us. No, you mean you have to listen to us. I mean, you can still watch us, but you got to listen. Like, if you're watching us, you have to tell us. Like, if you're out the window, you have to say, hey, I'm watching you outside of the window. Just, you know what?
Starting point is 00:20:24 Listen to the Amber and Lacey, Lacey and Amber show on Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. And Nicole Hannah-Jones, the journalist, some major prize winner. Pulitzer, I think, is what the good one is. That or a Webby. I can't remember which one it is because they're both up there. But yeah, Nicole Hannah-Jones, Pulitzer-winning journalist behind the 1619 Project. Uh-oh, the really fantastic reporting on, you know, the legacy of African slavery and how it permeates to this day with many.
Starting point is 00:21:14 I mean, again, this is, you know, her work essentially was the be lighting the fuse of the whole critical race theory debate because people were, you know, looking at history a little more critically again. I mean, like, yeah, yeah, yeah, this is all bad. There's a lot of work to do if we're going to right the wrongs of chattel slavery. If you remember the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, they got pressed by, you know, people around their state. I guess the board of trustees or whatever that fancy word is for people who run a college that they were basically pressured to not, you know, grant her a tenure at the university. And then they pulled it. And then people like, what the fuck are you guys doing? You kidding?
Starting point is 00:21:55 Who's who? Who is more who has more superlatives at this point than she does in regards to, you know, this this like this form of study or her contributions journalistically crickets then they came back and they said yeah actually we want to offer you tenure and they said no i'm gonna go to howard so she's taking her talents to howard university uh the wow yeah historically black university you know has a uh you know that she has a good home there where people aren't going to debate the validity of her fucking journalism and the reporting on this thing we have called American white supremacy. So, yeah, good to see her making her moves. And it just sucks to see that you can go from having this one job that you think you wanted to then becoming completely soured overnight like that because people don't want history taught shout out to north carolina really fucking that
Starting point is 00:22:52 one up let's talk uh let's talk paddington three this is like a little piece of good news for uh film fans uh paddington fans one of the big moments at Cannes, everybody's like, you know, film snobs are like, it's the glitz and glamour back at Cannes. We're seeing all these arty movies. But the real heads know the only thing that matters is that Studio Canal announced that Paddington 3 will begin shooting in second quarter of 2022. Oh.
Starting point is 00:23:24 So it's back baby look at that bears humans nine-titted draculas rejoice together yeah yeah jam our writer uh pointed like was kind of meditating on why this movie's so popular. I've seen, it's interesting. Like I was listening to a screenwriter talk about how this is a cool movie to like as Paddington 2. And then I've heard other smart people who haven't seen Paddington 2 just be like, I'm so tired of hearing people talk about Paddington 2. Like it's just a stupid movie or or it's just a normal movie. What is it about that movie that people love so much?
Starting point is 00:24:13 What are they saying? What is the reason? They're saying this is the new Chinatown? Just like it's... I'm trying to think of the other example of like it's fun to... other example of like it's fun to it's a fun movie that people think is
Starting point is 00:24:28 interesting to like basically so Chinatown's a little bit more down the middle I'm trying to think of another example like when you said script writer I thought like this is what they will be talking about when Robert McKee updates story he will take out the references to
Starting point is 00:24:44 Chinatown and will acknowledge the screenwriting of Paddington 2 I think he was saying like it's like characters will talk about it in a movie they'll be like I love Paddington 2 and that's how you know that that character is like a personality type
Starting point is 00:25:00 yeah yeah interesting you know JM was pointing out that like there's a paddington i guess paddington one which i haven't seen i've only seen paddington and i've only seen paddington one together we can have a conversation yeah with caitlin durant uh the bear paddington is like an an immigrant and that that movie came out during brexit and like even when the story started this is actually like really heartbreaking but jm pulled this detail that uh the original author michael bond created the character after watching evacuee children pass through redding station from london during the blitz like so they
Starting point is 00:25:39 had to be like broken away from their family and they all had a label around their neck with their name and address on, on it. And a little case of, or package containing all their treasured possessions. And he was like, that's the saddest thing I've ever seen. What would like a whimsical version of that be? So he created Paddington who is like an orphaned immigrant bear child who goes and lives with a family in London.
Starting point is 00:26:08 And at the time, people had a lot of fun with an immigration lawyer. It was like Paddington would have no chance at getting citizenship in the UK at this point because of the anti-igration, backlash, Brexit movement that was happening. And then Paddington too, you know, he's still an immigrant, is unjustly imprisoned, and all of these like kind of real stressors he encounters or the people in the movie encounter, but then everybody, including the villain,
Starting point is 00:26:53 has a pleasant resolution, which is kind of nice. Yeah. It's working on something else on our hearts. I feel like Paddington 2 is the best Wes Anderson movie I've ever seen, which is... Wes Anderson's just cursing all the Paddington 2 talk. I know what they were trying to do.
Starting point is 00:27:15 They out-West me. Yeah, they kind of did it, kind of nailed it, because it has all the things that are appealing and lovely about his movies, but without the self-reverential kind of smirk. Right. Bless Paddington and the empathy of that film. All right. Well, those are the things that are trending on this fine Tuesday afternoon. We are back tomorrow with a whole ass episode of the show. Until
Starting point is 00:27:46 then, be kind to each other, be kind to yourselves, get the vaccine, don't do nothing about white supremacy, and we will talk to you all tomorrow. Bye! Bye! What happens when a professional football player's career ends and the applause fades and the screaming fans move on? I am going to share my journey of how I went from Christianity to now a Hebrew Israelite. For some former NFL players, a new faith provides answers.
