Hosmy. Everyone has fallen apart. And two wonderful guests. Caitlin Durante. Hi. And Shireen Laniunas. I don't know what the fuck I walked into. I regret everything.

I know. I apologize. We just pulled Shireen in here as she walked in the building. She did not have any time to prep. And I had plenty of time to prep and I did not prep anything. So I'm just going to be commenting on everybody else's. So basically the idea is I wanted everybody to

come with a underrated, overrated, and myth about some different areas. Movie, music, person, news story, innovation. So, yeah. And everybody filled out parts of that.

And so we're just going to go through. This will be sort of our decade in review. So, guys, let's talk about movies up top. I think that's one that everybody has an opinion of about what is your overrated movie or movie trend of the decade. Caitlin Durante. Thank you so much for giving me this platform. I think you only wanted one from every category but I did list like five. I also have like several underrateds in movies.

I have a whole category that I made up that you did not ask for. I have several movies in that category. Okay, starting with our overrated. La La Land. That was my first one! That was Sophie Lichterman's too oh we are not original

same no we're just all on the same page yeah it sucked it sucked a lot uh i also hated i liked it just joking i love la la land uh number two drive Can't stand it. Wow, you do not like Riga. Riga. Riga. I think that's part of it. Riga. I don't mind Riga, but I just don't like that movie at all.

I also did not care for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Thought that was highly overrated. I've been here for like maybe five minutes and I got both of those already. I have a few more. Let's see if you got these. Okay, well. Hereditary. Yeah, I said it. It's overrated in K.

No, you just said it. I did. Spring Breakers. Spring Breakers. That was on a lot of lists of people's best movies of the decade. Yeah, and I was like, what are you talking about? It was just like a horny guy movie made by a horny dude. I know a lot of people who love it, though, and I simply don't understand.

The protagonist leaves 30 minutes into the movie. Harmony and Corinne has a lesion of such dedicated fuckboys. Truly. Yes. The same guys are just like, beach bum, perfect movie. Beach bum. Ugh. And then I think the same applies. These three directors, so Yargos Whatever's Face, who did Hereditary in Midsommar.

I may have gotten his name wrong. Yargos. Harmony Korine, I can't stand. And then, or no, sorry. Yargos is the lobster. That's my other movie. Yeah, yeah, I was going to say. Overrated lobster?

Lobster's also on my list of overrated. Did you like Dogtooth? No, I don't. I didn't. I don't like this movie. I like Yargos. I like Dogtooth. I can't stand him.

And then, wait, who did Hereditary in Midsommar? That was Ari Aster. Ari Aster. Forget it. Dog Tooth is 2009, so we're not allowed to talk about it. Yeah, well, you brought it up, Jack. Yeah, your fault. My bad.

My bad. Miles is, I don't know. Miles' overrated movie is all films with a white savior theme. Oh, sure. Of course. I mean, that's a cop out. I feel like you could just name a movie. Green Book.

Fine. Yeah, Green Book. I mean, no one liked Green Book. Did anyone like Green Book? Yeah, what the fucking best picture Oscar award? No, it didn't. Yes, it did. No, that was last year.

No, that was last year. Yeah, I fucking hate Green Book. I thought it was a mistake. No, that was last year. No, that was last year. Yeah, I fucking hate Green Book. And Miles' under is Blockers. Blockers was great. Miles loves Blockers.

I also think he only started watching movies last year. It is a fun movie, though. It is. I think overrated overall is the how much do I want my mentions just completely blown up a lot the Marvel movies

overrated okay Martin Scorsese I know it's not cinema it's not cinema I also think Martin Scorsese's movies are overrated I mean I put the Irishman on there. Overrated, yeah. No, I feel you on that. Fuck the Irishman.

It's just like, it's an okay movie but I couldn't get past the weird de-aging shit. I mean, everyone looks a little bit smoother, but at the end of the day they're still hunched over melty wax puppets pretending to be young again

and that was just sad as hell to me that was so sad Shireen coming in with the hottest of takes and more overrated movies than anyone even though she only had two minutes to prepare no but really that was more sad than any of the plot

seeing these old men pretending to be young I don't know. I thought the most effective performance was when Joe Pesci was pretending to be slightly older than he was when he was like the old kid. That was the whole movie.

They were all just like every other scene like okay now it's been two years. Now I'm really old. Now it's two years. I also was very frustrated that they, like, this movie spans all of the, like, 40s, 50s, 60s, and they played one song the whole time just over and over again. Which is, like, a fine song in the still of the night. All that CGI cost money. Yeah. I don't know, man.

You think Scorsese's made of money? No, I just think Scorsese should hire people with good taste in music to pick soundtracks for him. Not possible. Like you. Do you want to be his sound? What? No. I don't even like him.

Music supervisor? Like that. Okay. Like that. Like Kubrick used to use his daughter, and she had great taste in music. You're not going to ask me? Oh, did I forget to ask you? Wow.

Oh, man. Jack, erasing women from the conversation. So if you know, I'm going to go home and see my father so you're foreshadowing. Super producer Anna Hosnier, what is your overrated movie? Overrated? Dunkirk I'm over it Fuck it It was boring, there were no fucking women

We get it, war happened Enough of these war movies that take 45 minutes For one scene to happen I can't do it anymore Oh the one where they were She's like can I help you? And they're like get the fuck out of where they're like she's like can I help you and they're like get the fuck out of here

exactly they're like rude to her she's like she's a nurse she's trying to help you okay okay okay

okay can't stand you know I'm not a huge Christopher Nolan person really I liked Inception because I like

I like the visuals and how the story was really interesting but then he killed it for me when he said it was a filmmaking metaphor. I was like, Inception came out in 2010.

So that is a movie this decade. Okay. Well, whatever. So, what do you want me to say? Guys, I have very interesting insights to offer.

Underrated. Thanks for asking. I would say Spotlight. Oh, sure. I feel like it went by and people were just kind of like, yeah, I mean, that was Catholic priest. It did win Best Picture, right? Yeah, but then no one ever spoke about it again.

Yeah, it's not in the conversations that people are having. Yeah, for the year-enders. But also anything by Taika Waititi. Not Thor. I mean, like, his, like, true, like, boy, hunt for the wilder people. Yeah. What we do in the shadows.

I feel like there's one more I'm forgetting. Jojo Rabbit. He just got Jojo Rabbit out. No, the other, the, he, this is all previous to, to like Blockbuster Taika. I'm talking like. Right. I'm talking like working with the New Zealand Film Administration Academy or whatever it is.

Yeah. YTT. Because he was killing it. He is great. He's the great. I feel like he's one of the great film comedy writers of our time. He is hilarious. He's a great actor.

That's the other thing. He doesn't, he directs a lot, but he doesn't show up in a lot of his films unless, you know, it's like here or there he's there. He's around. But when he does,

and this is the most important thing is that he's hot. He's like, fuck a ball. Yeah. He's rock hard at all times. His. What? Also, the best thing about him him if you follow him on instagram he only posts photos that other people took of him trying to sleep on set and it's

hilarious that's a fun present and it's like he'll just try and sleep anywhere where it's like five different like chairs lined up to create a bed for him or like he's like asleep in a baby stroller or just wherever he can catch a quick Z he's there I love that about him Sophie Lichterman's Underrated which I like is Bridesmaids oh yeah I mean everyone likes

that movie though I think so but maybe it's just another thing of like people don't really talk about it anymore you guys ever see that movie Submarine it's on my list of people don't really talk about it anymore. It's not on their year-end list. Right, right, right. You guys ever see that movie Submarine? It's on my list, but I have not seen it. Oh, I thought you meant it's on your list of- Oh, my watch list. Sorry, sorry, my watch list.

It came out in 2010. I haven't seen it. Anyways. Can I share my underrateds? Yes. I would like to, too, when I get permission. You go first, Shreen. Thank you so much.

You're welcome. I have a couple underrateds. One of them is the Nathan For You special, Finding Frances, which is like a feature length thing. Yes! I'm obsessed with Nathan Fielder. He is the funniest.

His show is the best thing. It's the best. It's my favorite kind of comedy ever. And that special, it's like an 85 minute finale, essentially. And it is so, so good. It's incredible.

So that's one of my underrateds. No one talks about it. Do you have any that are actually movies? Yeah. I'm sorry. Wow, shots. She loves Love Actually. There's one, I saw this one,

not when it came out, because I didn't even hear of it until someone told me about it, but Brigsby Bear. No one talks about Brigsby Bear. It's this ending movie with Kyle Mooney. i didn't even hear of it until someone told me about it but brigsby bear no one talks about brigsby bear it's kyle mooney yeah it is so funny is it i really liked it um it's so underrated uh i thought spider-man is the spider-verse was really fun time oh my god the best movie of the ever uh and then i uh the handmaiden which was this yeah in 2016 i have told so many people fuck you jack no no i'm just laughing

at my own reaction to things every time i bring it up everyone's like the handmaid's tale and i'm like no there's a movie yeah there's a movie a korean beautiful fucking movie that's called the handmaiden it's been on amazon this entire time no one fucking fucking watches it. It is so beautiful. It's such a good story. It is so good. It is so good. Everyone needs to watch The Handmaiden. A South Korean erotic psychological thriller. Yes. It is so beautiful. And my last one

is one it's 2011. What's this decade? Yeah, that counts. This movie called Perfect Sense. It's like a really dramatic movie with Eva Green and it's like a really dramatic movie with Eva Green and it's like a sci-fi

that everyone loses their senses one by one and the reason why I love this movie is that I still listen to the soundtrack to go to sleep it's like this beautiful

like orchestral instrumental piano music soundtrack it is so so lovely and it's a really beautiful movie

but no one fucking knows about it yeah I didn't. The Handmaiden is by the guy who made Oldboy. Yeah. Oh, shit. That's one of my favorite movies of all time. You love Oldboy? That shit bums me out. Yeah.

I mean, it's not like a fun romp. It's not on the romp-o-mator. Caitlin romp-o-mator. But the fact that you love Oldboy and had no idea that The Handmaiden existed, that is criminal. Proves your point. That's criminal.

Handmaiden is number one underrated. Okay. Okay, your floor. Thank you so much. The Handmaiden is number one on my underrated list. Oh, is it? Yes. Damn.

Followed by. Same number one. Well, I listed it first. I'm not necessarily ranking them. Followed by. These'm not necessarily ranking them. These are lesser underrated movies, just so people know. No, because what I had listed last are Paddington and Paddington 2, which I still feel are underrated because there are large swaths of people who do not think that they're like, oh, you like that movie? This is supposed to be a dumb kids movie, right? No one realizes.

See, Brigsby Bear was on my radar. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm aware of all bear content out there because of Paddington and Paddington 2. Jack the Bear? Jack the Bear? Isn't that a movie? Is it? Never mind.

Don't pay no attention to me. But the argument, like the children argument, I think it applies to my underrated Spider-Verse because everyone's like, oh, it's a cartoon. It's an animated. It's superhero. Ew.

But it's such a good movie. So good. And I love it. It's great. And then also Dora and the Lost City is one of the best movies of the decade. What? I have not seen it.

Holy shit. It's again, it's maybe perhaps, okay, it's just so funny. Everyone needs to see it. It's great. Everyone brushed it aside when it came out. I think it's a kids movie. What, Dora?

I saw it. It was fun. It's good. Jack the Bear is a movie, according to Sophie Lichterman. Sorry to doubt you. Where is Sophie right now? She's in the other room listening. Listening and sending me messages. This is strange.

Okay, so then I have the category that you did not ask me to list movies for, which is appropriately rated movies, a.k.a. what I think are the best movies of the decade, which that other people also agree are the best. Okay. So on this list, I have Mad Max Fury Road. Yeah. See, Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse I put on this list because I feel like

it is making lists it's making the list decade end the social network ooh I like it too but I was going to be ashamed

of admitting it I was too scared I'm not ashamed alright I'm here for it good and even though you know

Aaron Sorkin is whatever and some of the other people who worked on it are blah blah blah. But like it's a great movie. Trent Reznor. That movie belongs to Trent Reznor. Tell me about it. Hot take. Parasite, of course. Oh yeah, of course. And Get Out. Yes.

I think they're all appropriately highly rated. Yeah, I like that category. Thank you. I agree with everything you said. I don't know. I mean. Yeah. I like that category. Thank you. I agree with everything you said. I don't know. I mean, I'm not like a huge social network fan, but I love Parasite and I love, what was the one before that one that you said that I was not into? Fury Road?

Oh, Get Out. Get Out. Or Get Out, yeah. Get Out and Parasite. Yeah. Get Out is, will be, I feel like, the movie that people look back on this decade and are like, that is the movie of the decade, and it didn't even win the Academy. Don't remind me.

It won Best Screenplay. That was it. Yeah. Screenplays are stupid. What's your underrated? I told you. She said. You did?

Yeah. Any film by Taika Waititi and Spotlight. Who are you again? I'm your daughter. All right. Did I miss anyone's underrated? Nick didn't give us an underrated. Oh, are we doing myths about movies?

Oh, yeah. Do we have any myths? I got one that the movie The House with Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler isn't hilarious. That's a myth. It's so funny. It's fucking funny. It's hilarious. Is it?

I didn't see it. I've never seen it. It has one of the hardest laughs that I've had in the past. Yes. Yeah. I almost, maybe I did pee myself a little. It involves Jeremy Renner. Oh, baby.

It's the funniest thing I've ever seen. You know, it starts out slow, but it picks up, and people hate it. It has the worst reviews, but I find it so funny. Yeah. I don't like Renner. It's not like the movie's about him. He's just a random... You would like this

because of what happens to Renner. Jeremy Renner is my person of the decade. He, I think, is underrated as a performer now because of his Marvel shit.

But his performance in The Town is fucking good. I hate The Town. He definitely has good performances. He's so good in The Town. I hate Ben Affleck. I hate The Town. Ben Affleck? Ben Affleck.

Because you're very benevolent about Ben Affleck? Ben Affleck. I don't know. Ben Affleck. Ben Affleck. Wow. Oh, shit. don't know. Ben Affleck. Ben Affleck. Wow. Oh, shit. I heard that here first.

of Disney classics. Lion King was trash. Get the fuck out. On the other hand, different styles of animation, less Pixar, more Into the Spider Verse or Kubo. Although I will say there were some good Pixar

movies this decade. Like Toy Story 4. Toy Story 4, which I really like. I think they did a good job with sequels this decade, actually. Yeah, they started making, like, at a certain point, they were like,

hey, you know what? Even if the, like, sequels can be better than the previous movies, and sometimes the sequel can be, like, good, and the previous movies can be terrible, like the Fast and the Furious

films and then he said myth premium food is not the upgrade that movie theaters need which I agree with and then he said weed smoking sections are man okay still he said it just like that why don't you do what we all do which is vape

As somebody who likes to be very selective in the amount of content that I put out, I totally identify with this.

What's everybody's overrated musical thing? Taylor Swift. Fuck Taylor Swift. She is so overrated. Yeah, she was on mine. All her songs sound the same. I don't like her personality. Her personality is fine, whatever. I'm not judging her personality.

But I think she's overrated. There are so many talented people out there. Like, she didn't time. I think they named her Entertainer of the Decade. Right? Yeah. Somebody did. Billboard.
