One of them was very bad. It was like a criticism of a book about how economists, they're not all bad. And we need to let technocrats just do their thing a little bit. Anyways, but one of them was about this new breed of dictator around the world, comparing them with the 20th century variety. And one of the things that they say is kind of um standard is like they're the only thing they have they just follow the hate so wherever they're

wherever they sense energy and like anger and hatred they will follow that and they're not ideologically like specific in any way um and, and you know, Tucker, uh, I think a lot of people have, have their chips on him being maybe one of the, the, the next great Trump, the, the Trump of the future.

So, uh, it doesn't, doesn't surprise me. He's not, he's not going to be specific or consistent. God, Tucker,

please run. You're going to make things so easy for the dnc their whole campaign will just be to play montages of your show and they won't offer any policy guidance on anything do you think that was guy i think he would he would do well right like i feel like people are really feeling him yeah he's slick with his mouth and you know he's smarter than most of the republican base so yeah he's he would do a very horrific job of galvanizing that group of people just oh my god miles just aged 15 years with that one exhale just abe l Lincoln. Grubhub is trending. So Grubhub was basically like free lunch today.

Great. You know, somebody came up with that in a meeting and they were like, let's do it. That's fucking genius, Todd. So they had a promotion where they were going to let people order free lunch. So they did it. And as with many a tech company, they didn't you know make sure the

infrastructure was in place to pull something like this off oh so it wasn't smooth yeah it was just like uh fewer restaurants than usual were available on the platform as restaurants just closed orders because they didn't want to deal with this shit um oh because too many people were like yeah fuck it and they're like, I'm getting slammed with 60 orders at once. Some restaurant owners received notice of the promotion. But that wasn't the case across the board.

Orders were piling up as they awaited a courier. And the app and payment were both glitching out the whole time. despite those glitches, they were sending out tweets amid the chaos to remind users to get their last minute orders in. I mean, nice try to curry some favor with the consumers. But, you know, the cool thing would have been like, hey, we're giving the couriers healthcare. Here's a $15 tip on Grubhub you can give to your courier or something like that.

It is wild because tech CEOs are always telling people there's no such thing as free lunch when they're telling them they can't have healthcare. But they wanted to see if they could make it happen. They did not try hard enough. Um, Biden crypto. What's happening?

Is he issuing his own coin? Yeah. He got a new coin. How do I open PDF? Jack coin. Oh yeah. It's called corn. He's selling corn pop NFTs from that bad man who was the black guy he

kept a razor rusty razor blade on him or whatever that i know how you guys do keep a rusty razor in the rain jar what was it like in a rain barrel or some shit the rain barrel like what the fuck all right anyway assumed a population of like people under the age of 50 were all still doing this thing that one person told them they did and like yeah that was like the equivalent of like a chain email that he heard of i was like you know what you know what the black people do they hold rusty things in a rain barrel and i'm joe byron but yeah this crypto thing is coming out because one of his picks for the federal reserve's vice chair of supervision is this guy michael barr and he's got a senate confirmation hearing coming up but a lot of people have pointed at the financial disclosures that

he's put out uh you know since he's been nominated and everyone's like wow look at this guy he's uh pretty heavily invested in over 80 uh technology companies like crypto, debt collection, microfinance firms. And a lot of watchdog groups are like, this is not a good person to be putting in a role who has a vested interest in cryptocurrency. cryptocurrency when what happened with the crypto market last week, absolutely. So many smaller investors got rinsed because of the lack of regulation that they're like, well, how are you going to square this? Because it doesn't seem like this person is 100% trustworthy if they've already been like, yeah, I got a lot of money tied up in this stuff, too. So, you know, the revolving door kind of continues. But, you know, I think on the other side of it, people I'm sure the Biden administration is like, no, this guy is great because he knows about crypto. But it's it's difficult to like square all of that when you see some of these financial disclosures and just sort of like the amount of like silicon valley people that have been on like the transition team um while again we're dealing with an unregulated ponzi scheme

market uh with cryptocurrency right now are is there like a movement in the aftermath of this crypto crash which like seems to be like it's sort of settled now that crypto is a mess and a scam um it depends man because if you're like talking to crypto like maximalists you know who are all they do is talk about crypto the they seem to be towing the line that it's like it's it's up and down man we're gonna get through this we're gonna get through this but what what's different is with Terra and Luna going down, those huge coins that crashed, that one was pegged to the dollar. A lot of smaller people, countless anecdotes of like, oh my God, I lost my entire life savings because I was into this stupid coin. Because I got into this groupthink with everyone if we're all gonna make it and i absolutely lost all my money what do i do now and there are some people you see like

doubling down they're like well i'm buying luna now you're like it doesn't have any value but people are still thinking about like well i'm gonna buy this dip so in the aftermath what i've seen is a lot more outpouring of like there's a lot of crypto l type accounts like retweeting like really just sad like sort of juxtapositions of people being like good luck being poor and then the next tweet is like i lost everything in crypto what do i do right but at the same time there's a lot of angry computer scientists who are like we've been saying that this technology is very flimsy and it's not really promising to do what everyone says it's going to do and that's i've been looking into a lot of the computer scientists who are taking

apart this technology like this jank like the fuck are y'all doing and i think really the biggest thing to consider with all of that is uh which i think is really interesting point at the moment is that it's it's going to create create an opportunity for more extremism. Because with people losing a ton of their money, you have some crypto agnostic people or crypto apostles type people who are saying, oh, you know, this is all because of the Fed and like they're against us. While really they're not doing the thing of like,

look at the people who put those projects together and who are probably laughing their asses off holding your money. That's who has your money. Like don't. So a lot of people in extremism research are like, this could be a very interesting place. You have a lot of distant financially disenf the fucking people who told you constantly that everything was going to be okay. And they're probably have their skin like now instead of you, you know, that's kind of where that attention needs to go. it's it is terrible to read countless anecdotes of people who completely did not were not ready to take such huge financial risks with their savings and did and that's really fucked up yeah like it's like they're really like that's the real aftermath of it that uh i think is

something that needs to you know have an eye on it but yeah i saw somebody like tweeting i think it was the guy one of the producers at that podcast, Blank Check, but they were tweeting about how any celebrity who took money from a crypto company should just, the response should be, apologize publicly, say you're returning the money, actually return the money, and then help people find crypto disaster relief, basically. Because it felt like it was, okay, we're through this. This is a settled bad thing that has happened.

But yeah, you're right. We've been talking a lot about the fact that each problem contributes to the other problems and there's this cascading thing. And crypto is definitely, a lot of people pitch it as a solution but it definitely feels like it's uh another another contributing problem to the overall collapse and i think the projects that people will point to to be like well this has the potential for this or that they're too few and far between because most people are now like from the outside who are ignorant about it

they're they're looking at like this prosperity gospel that's basically come out and like the influencers around crypto are doing like they've took a whole thing of just like showing opulent lifestyles to kind of seed this in the mind of you know retail investors to be like oh shit this could be so this is a path of financial freedom which for millennials can totally understand the the appeal of something like that because you look around you're like fuck man my financial opportunities are fucking limited as hell how am i going to get to like some sense of real stability and a lot of people you know were uh intoxicated by the promise of these kinds of things and it's just it's just tough to see now the fallout on the other side of a lot of people getting completely just destroyed um yeah but

you know it it it rolls on and like yeah i think it's true a lot of the celebrities like matt damon and shit lebron james who's you know really touting shit is like the next path to create generational wealth those are terrible looks for y'all. Joel Embiid had an ad go up as the crash was happening. There were so many poorly timed I mean Jimmy Fallon's
