I was a lady rebel. Like, what does that even mean? It's right here in black and white and prints. They lie. It's bigger than a flag or mascot. Starting point is 00:02:05 podcasts hello the internet and welcome to this episode of chugi or not chugi that is the quest trend aka i chew chew chew you those are courtesy of miles and Brian. Brian, producer Brian. Always coming with the fire ass takes. Wild, wild. And then Miles had the I choog, choog, choog you. Yeah, my friend was listening to the other episode and did like a other choogy pun. And I was like, the fruit is hanging right there to be picked. Yes.
Starting point is 00:02:43 And it's I choog, choog, choog you. You choog, chooo-choo me? Was that Ralph? Yeah. Oh, poor Ralph. Poor Ralph Wiggum. I'm Jack. Hey, that's Miles.
Starting point is 00:02:58 Yeah, right? I didn't get a fair shot. These are some things that are trending. Hashtag mask off is trending could be trending for any number of reasons yeah uh republicans the biden administration israel who knows whose mask is completely off but in this instance is because the cdc just said take those you don't need you don't need masks if you're fully vaccinated in a few situations. I'm starting to wonder if like whoever, if like there are people at the top of like the culture wars,
Starting point is 00:03:32 just like being like, what can we get that? All right, we're going to get the people who used to be pro mask to fight for being mask off. And we'll get, cause didn't we talk about yesterday how the anti-vaxxers are now saying you should wear a mask to protect yourself somehow it's not like across the board but it's a sentiment
Starting point is 00:03:50 that's bubbling in the community which is people with the vaccine have are going to shed you know these cells that could potentially make reverse sterile or like reverse the polls um anyways we we can take our masks off but the weird thing is too like as much as i'm sure like great knowing that it's safe and understanding like what that means to be inoculated there's also like a thing that i'm just really aware of like i don't i want to communicate outwardly to the world that i'm taking shit seriously though too like to not put other people at risk so even if i don't have to like part of me is like you know i'll just i can i can rock it a little bit that helps you definitely not shave right yeah you know and for all the people like i know a lot of people like i'm not seems like it's like a hoodie for
Starting point is 00:04:40 white people what the mask a mask they're like you know i kind of like it yeah it's like it kind of helps me be low-key it's like yeah you can kind of shut the world out with a hoodie too yeah and if you gained any weight or any extra chins around the uh pandemic it's it's nice cover for that as well do what you gotta do but yeah i think uh everybody's rejoicing for the idea all this is part of biden's plan to be you know just throating the glizzies for july 4th memorial day weekend right the hot dogs baby what's america man that's funny because like trump's version of the july 4th celebration was like a you know nazi street parade uh and biden's is gonna be like an oh brother where
Starting point is 00:05:28 art thou style like backyard barbecue hoedown um yeah that'll be great just eating an ice cream cone asking people how to open pdf jack um anyways uh well that's good news olivia munn is trending um olivia munn uh the yeah her and laney i guess yeah couple her and john malaney i guess so john malaney uh who has like some very endearing stand-up bits about his wife and his relationship. So it was announced earlier this week that they were getting a divorce. And then she came out and said she was heartbroken. So everyone was like, yo, she seems like real cute and real like fun and cool.
Starting point is 00:06:15 And then they, it's been announced or rumored that he's dating Olivia Munn who has, uh, other vibes, not, not vibes like john malini's wife yeah she seemed almost whimsical you know based on his stand-up i'm like damn bro like if if they ever split up he's in bad shape it sounds like he's he owes a lot to her first thing i thought was his bachelor pad is gonna look like shit because i wasn't like that one of his bits about how she's like really good at decorating things yeah like from yeah so whatever uh good luck um interesting is this like straight out of rehab like he just rebounded to olivia munn or you think this is
Starting point is 00:06:57 cooking prehab i mean i don't know it's a good question they do say that you know you shouldn't make any big you shouldn't get married in your first say that you know you shouldn't make any big you shouldn't get married in your first year in recovery and you shouldn't make any other big life changes that are driven by your own decision making uh in the first year after and huh i mean that's that's kind of a big one but yeah i mean it just sucks too like if you don't be like you know this comes out because people allow it to you know you're really trying to yeah like the malibu uh yeah mon laney the arrival of mon laney and i think you know like kind of a bad look to then immediately be like yo we're splitting up also windmilling on your ass i'm like whoa whoa whoa whoa but it's hollywood it's hollywood love is stand up though um
Starting point is 00:07:49 could you imagine it gets so bad now like the secret really was his relationship to his wife hey uh stranger things have happened you know yeah truly ready to die is trending among other debut rap albums because the ringer ringered the shit out of the internet today and asked all right top five debut rap albums bill simmons will go first i don't know ready to die is seems like it's the one consensus choice i would say ilmatic would be number one on my list yeah i like ilmatic reasonable doubt i have to put college dropout in there because i just yeah personally i think it's one of the best sample based ilmatic and college dropout dropout are probably the only two that are safe that i'm not like okay i know i i could like think about one later and be like
Starting point is 00:08:46 ah that has to be replaced those two are definitely like definitely definitely on there and it all depends because like it's funny like as much as you know like i'm from the west coast like i'm love i mean i fuck with all rap but i definitely gravitated towards new york rappers and east coast rap the vibes just resonated with me but it's funny because like i'm thinking all the rappers i'm thinking they're all east coast rappers and i'm like yeah the chronic was dope you know doggy style is also a fucking classic that's a fucking hit does the chronic count though i mean yeah i guess it does i guess i mean right because it's as dr dre like you know dr dre straight out of compton is also iconic and it's kind of a it's kind of a
Starting point is 00:09:26 uh a snoop debut album too like really if you think about it because snoop was like on so many of the tracks and it's when we first meet him i would get i would say the chronic is pretty safe if we're counting it but i guess that's what's hard it's like it's these are just again it's gonna just turn into a lot of wild arguments uh but yeah i'd like black on both sides most deaf i don't think that's a really strong outing too at least for me personally but that's why i think a lot of it is personal i like how some people put oh a quemini by outcast super producer anna hosniernier my favorite uh joke of the day today yeah she responds that oh views by drake solid debut album the songs on there we talk control oh man
Starting point is 00:10:14 hell yeah love playing ourselves love that the carter three um but then we talked about like wu-tang affiliates right there's only built for cuban links or liquid swords and things like that uh to cal do these things end up on the list or do we consider 36 chambers i think we just do 36 chambers right well here's the deal if 36 chambers is the reason why you can't say things like only built for cuban links then you can't say the chronic because of straight out of the box. That's right. That's right.
Starting point is 00:10:48 So it all depends on what you're, you know. I'm happy to. I just don't want it to be all East Coast rap, but. No, no, no, no. Everyone's got like, again, this is. And then we even talked about like, okay, what about Kendrick? Where do you start with Kendrick? Can we do?
Starting point is 00:11:02 If we do, if Good Kid Mad City counts, that's. Then it's in there. It's nailed on. Yeah. But we were like, well, what about kendrick where do you start with kendrick can we do if we do if good kid mad city counts that's then it's in there it's nailed on yeah we were like well what about mixed right right right what do you do damn it um i mean yeah i think ready to die and southern playalistic are like two that would probably be on most people's lists that like i i love them as albums but i mean so the playalistic music from that one oh my god we need to when we get back in the studio if we get back in the studio we need to build out a drop board and that needs to be number one music for new listeners that was a white guy doing a reading for a
Starting point is 00:11:49 audio book and doing like black like AAVE no no no but then like people's instinctive travels okay you know what I mean that's why it's an embarrassment of riches when
Starting point is 00:12:06 you start digging with these debut albums maybe what we have to do is divide like the only fair thing is to divide it regionally um yeah and then you can do like a tournament of debut albums champions yeah this is this is all right how about we come to tomorrow's trending with our final we spend the next 24 hours thinking come with our final our final five yeah and then you know call up call up the source and let them know let them know that it's happening are coming down
Starting point is 00:12:33 from the mountain yeah um all right all right um rage is trending because it's like the thing that happens once a month now. People on the right who listen to Rage Against the Machine and think that they can just appropriate that
Starting point is 00:12:54 the way they appropriate Christianity to be about them and that where they're the victim and the machine is liberals. They find out that Rage actually uh pretty pretty leftist pretty radically well i mean depends on which member you're talking about but yeah for the you you heard the albums they stay on the album covers you know what's going on uh who do you think the people of the sun were the the disenfranchised voters of Maricopa County, Arizona? Yeah. Like, I don't know. I guess everyone, that's the thing about music, is you literally bring your own shit to it,
Starting point is 00:13:32 and even if you don't listen to the lyrics, you have no idea what's going on, because they posted, you know, about their solidarity with Palestine, and a lot of people are like, what the fuck is this? Who the fuck are y'all what are you talking about
Starting point is 00:13:47 it's the same way like over the summer you saw these like MAGA people blasting rage at their like blue lives matter rallies and shit yeah dude that's what's just so wild dancing around with the trump flag to rage it says something when like some music that just
Starting point is 00:14:03 you can feel so hard in your bones like it kind of has to come from people with an idea of what oppression is like yeah like you're not getting them chords from fucking you know whatever fill in shitty band here but there's something about the energy i think about the music that people like i can relate to this even though i'm completely doing myself a disservice by not hearing the message of this art. I mean, this has been a big year for them. They got like, was it Cat Stevens? Or no, no, not Cat Stevens.
Starting point is 00:14:31 Who's the dude who? Van Morrison. Van Morrison came through with the Wild Right Wing takes and brought Eric Clapton along with them. So, I mean, they have some music. Like, it's not like they only have country. And yeah, they got a couple classic rock musicians there ted nugent obviously yeah uh so you know you guys have some shit to work with slapping ted nugent now you know what i mean no i'm just that that sucks for them i'm i'm not gonna lie. It's bad. You got Kid Rock.
Starting point is 00:15:07 Did you see that story about the thing that happened? The colostomy bag. Yeah. Did that happen while I was out or something? How did we not talk about that? I think it was just such a stupid ass story about some... Did the dude have a Nazi tattoo or some shit too? I believe so. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:19 It was just so on brand that I think just having a just constant stories like this about just ignorant people just causing scenes and shit i was like okay yeah the dude swung his colostomy back around just sprayed everyone at a kid rock show with poo now pull out your shit and get it on someone all right anyways shout out to all the right wing people going through a tough time uh because they're they're realizing it's slim pickings haha just kidding stay mad haha but let us know what your top five rap albums are um yeah yeah i'll be interested is vanilla ice came out with some like-wing takes, I think, recently. Maybe they got to the extreme.
Starting point is 00:16:08 Pappy Van Winkle is his real name anyway. Yeah, yeah. Pappy Van Winkle. Isn't it something like Scott Van Winkle or something? And we shall name him Pappy. I think it is Scott Van Winkle. It is Van Winkle. I know that. Robert, I believe.
Starting point is 00:16:20 Okay, Bob Van Winkle. Bob Van Winkle. Shout out to the good Van Winkles, yeah of course that's gonna do it for today we are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show until then be kind to each other be kind to yourselves get the vaccine and don't do nothing about white supremacy we'll talk to y all tomorrow. Bye. Bye. Hey, fam. I'm Simone Boyce. I'm Danielle Robay.
