Dude, his whole life has sounded like the first drop of a roller coaster. I mean, I can't even tell you, Paul, how crazy it was.

I'm Munga Chitigula, and I'm back with a new season of my podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I talked to scientists, biopunks, cremudgeons, blues owners, super seniors, and Goa's top cryotherapy lab to try to understand this obsession with living forever and what it means for all of us. And I get into a bit of trouble along the way.
Starting point is 00:00:53 I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know. Listen to Skyline Drive How to Live Forever on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Starting point is 00:01:21 This kid, Jafar Jackson, should absolutely positively get nominated for his portrayal as Michael Jackson. Listen to I.M. Rap Report on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. 150 years ago, they were hunting us down to kill us, and now they're hunting down immigrants to deport them. This is First America, the true story of how the United States came to be, and how we got to this present moment. Listen to First America on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Oh, look at us. We waited just the right amount of time. Didn't we say next time we came back, we would know who won the World Cup? Guess what, you idiots? We found out. We did some digging. We did some research. And we got the answer about nine days later. But that's neither here nor there.
Starting point is 00:02:28 Welcome to the sort of last episode of Vainabudy. We'll get to that towards the end of the episode. You should stick around for that answer. But anyway, here we are. It's me, Miles Gia, the place to be also joined by Chris Martin. Chris, how are you feeling after that World Cup that happened eight days ago, nine days ago? I'm feeling at peace. Enough time has passed.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Peace, England lost when they lost. Sure. Because of the, you never guess what word I was shouting at the England team for the second. Give me a C. Give me an O. Give me a W. Every day,
Starting point is 00:03:04 do you know, that's not even true. I wasn't at peace because every day I got more annoyed by Thomas Tuchel. Some people were like, it wasn't just his fault.
Starting point is 00:03:11 And I was like, why would you not make the attacking subs straight after the second goal? Why do you wait two minutes? Why have every concert making crosses? Do it? What are you doing? But anyway,
Starting point is 00:03:23 apart from now, I'm at peace with that coward. Yeah. That's what the fans wanted to hear me say. Cali. And then I am at peace that Spain won that final because that was, I started the game going, I like Messi, you know. I'm a glory hunter in that respect. But then I was like, I hope it's a good game and the best team win. And within about eight minutes, I was like, if Argentina don't get their asses handed to him, I won't sleep for the rest of my life. So, well done, Spain. Well done Ferrin Torres.
Starting point is 00:03:53 Well done. Yeah. The game of football. Well done Mikhail Marino for dragging three defense. completely out of, out of place to give that nice little void for Ferrant Torres to pop into. Jamel Johnson, what about you? How do you feel after all this? I mean, I'm still kind of pissed off, man. Okay, there you go. I have no idea how soccer doesn't get in that game at all. And then the third place game he scores. I just forgot about it as well.
Starting point is 00:04:21 God damn, he's working on a fucking hat trick in a third place game. He can't even get in the one that matters. So you get me started, man. Maybe he's injured. Maybe he's injured. And then, oh, he played a full 90? Four days later. And then said, you know, I'm actually, I'm actually fit if I'm being real.
Starting point is 00:04:40 He says, like, yeah, it could have played a lot more. I mean. This German is trying to sabotage the whole nation of England. Yeah. I mean, maybe. Those accusations were flying around. But yeah, you're probably asking, why are they talking about the World Cup final on damn near the end of July?
Starting point is 00:04:55 Well, look, there was a lot of things going on. I was in the Bahamas. I thought I could record while on vacation. I was wrong. I was wrong. Ridiculous. Jamel had some life events happening. Congratulations to him as he enters the new phase of life filled with love and happiness.
Starting point is 00:05:14 Congratulations. I'm getting a new kidney. Oh, that's what it is. Oh, yeah. I thought you were talking about my kidney transfer. No, no, that too. That too. Trust me.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Thanks, y'all. Thank you for both things. One of the listeners will come up off that kidney. We're still looking for you. We're still looking for it. And that's love. folks. I just want to,
Starting point is 00:05:28 any, any kidneys, just, uh, ain't it footy. Uh, yeah, yeah,
Starting point is 00:05:33 doing a kidney transplant. Yeah, yep, yep, we got a P-O box. We can send you out of the time over to. Just put in a little ice bag or something. We should be good. Should be good.
Starting point is 00:05:41 As long as you're in the Southern California area. Um, but yeah. And so I watched the World Cup final half floating in the ocean because there was like a giant screen the resort put up for people to watch outside. And I watched like the first 10 minutes. I'm like, all right,
Starting point is 00:05:54 this is going to be a slog. And part of me was like, I need to make peace with. whatever's going to happen. All I was saying is like, I need Spain to win so at least some of our Spanish boys can have a really wonderful year
Starting point is 00:06:04 lifting the Premier League trophy and the World Cup. And I was kind of, my whole thing was like, I'm going to wait for there to be cheers so loud that it gets me out of the ocean. Those cheers never came. And then towards the 90th minute
Starting point is 00:06:18 I started watching and I saw everything after the 90th minute. And then I rewatched the game after because I had to watch a halftime show opening ceremony, all that. But I got to say, Spain, great job. They really tried to
Starting point is 00:06:30 they tried to muck you up a little bit, but they couldn't quite derail the big red machine. The second World Cup ever. And I think what, they only had one goal throughout the entire tournament, which was a record.
Starting point is 00:06:45 So hats off to them. What was your favorite moment of the final? Mine was Enzo Fernandez giving away the most clear second yellow of all time and still trying to appeal for it. I was like, just a man, you made a man do a somersault from your challenge. And you're like, no, no, no, no, no, no. And just like, couldn't happen.
Starting point is 00:07:10 You know, Arsenal have been a bit linked with him before and he's clearly a good player, but he's just, he's, I don't even care that he scored against England. It's just like, like, he's got to be up there for the least likable person in their history. And I have to say, look at, look at my background, people who have going to watch this, I don't, no one's going to watch this, whatever. Chelsea, Chelsea of really in the last 24 hours, they've tried to go, well, Beck, just good lads. They need to carbon offset.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Enzo Fernandez. They're paying. That's why the, that's why the hateful climate will continue there because they're just trying to carbon offset. They're not trying to work on what they've already got, which is a bunch of assholes. Right. They're going to get, that's my highlight. I love it.
Starting point is 00:07:52 It was just so funny. They're going to get Ian Wright's grade school teacher, Mr. Pigden, too. Mr. Pigtin. Don't Joe Ferdandez. Somebody said you was dead. Mr. Pekton. I thought I stopped you. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:08:05 Yeah. That foul was crazy. The second it happened, I was like, oh, boy, there it is. They come on now. Let's see it. I really enjoyed, just from how explosive it was. I mean, was that on Krabas, Kubarsi? Then he flipped a head over heels with that one.
Starting point is 00:08:21 It was, and then who was, did you see like there was a wide shot where they pointed out another Argentinian player went down behind the play? just to try and create more like, oh, maybe something else happened before that. Yo, reflexive, just crouching on the ground, like, ah, ah, and I was like, damn, bro, this is, this is Haram ball for real. It was, yeah, it was, it was one of the,
Starting point is 00:08:41 it was one of the worst performances for a team in a final. Like, someone tried to say, like, I think I was listening, members listened to Guardian Foot Weekly, and I think Barry Glenn, I think, who thinks good was like, it was a bit like Arsenal, the Champions League, I was like, no, no, Arsenal, like,
Starting point is 00:08:54 scored a goal in the, but Argentina didn't have a shot, York. Yeah. Which is crazy. 150 minutes, which is so weird. I mean, the age just finally showed up, man. These guys are all like our age out there playing, man.
Starting point is 00:09:09 For real, right? Yeah. At the end, I felt a little bad for Argentina a little bit. I wanted Spain to win because we have guys on that team and I'm not rooting for Christian Romero. Like, that's really, truly what it came down to. Was he the only one to not shake Trump's hand? I was like, damn.
Starting point is 00:09:27 I'm saying? Okay, Romero. That's clean. Yeah, yeah. But like, I don't know. After Argentina beat England, I was kind, I found myself about to board the messy train. Right. Because it was so legendary. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:44 It was crazy. Spain was the better team, bro. I don't think it was, I didn't think it was boring. I thought Spain played really good defense. What was tough about this game was, it's impossible to explain it to anybody who likes American football. Yeah, sure. Anybody who's actually American, I couldn't explain why the game was good. Right.
Starting point is 00:10:00 They're like, nothing's happening. All they kept. Like, no, bro, a lot is actually happening if you really look. And they all, and all of those guys just found out where the Nazis been at. It's like, yo. Yeah, yeah. You just found out, man. You like 10 tournaments late, okay?
Starting point is 00:10:18 Yeah, right, right. They're like, did you hear what they did when they celebrated last year? Okay, never mind, never mind. Yeah, yeah, sure, the match is boring. But I thought, yeah, to your point, it was great to watch. And it was quite funny. It was like, it was just a very strange, is it, I mean, I'm not trying to forgive Argentina here, but I think I read something that if the team that plays the day after
Starting point is 00:10:44 the semifinals almost always loses the final, but like, it's like they'd gone out and they're like, we don't have enough legs. So we are, I mean, to be horrible from like the first minute and then just like what, and And when they actually went down to 10 men, they tried to play football for five minutes. Like, oh, yeah, like, look what happens when you try and play football. Yeah. So strange. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:05 Anyone who, I mean, this basically tournament was like, it awarded the teams, not that this was, like, the mandate or whatever, but the teams that were there for, like, a real, just fight and not getting overly tactical about how you're going to eke out a result ended up winning. Like, there was just that belief thing ended up trumping even, like, tactics for the most part. the one thing was that was kind of wild that was like all the new football fans now who are like bro messy actually fucking sucks like when people are saying that shit I'm like bro what?
Starting point is 00:11:35 Bro what the fuck are you talking about? Like dude where the fuck was he dude? Like that was the shit I heard people who were like like three days into soccer fandom being like dude he was fucking gone he was like nothing bro I don't know I don't know what the hype's about I'm like this guy is literally at the end of his career
Starting point is 00:11:52 he's been doing this consistently since he was 16 years old. If you look for even half a second, he's Sonic and Knuckles. He plays like he's Sonic and Knuckles. I mean, when England's like when England's, in the semis, it was like he was completely, no, not completely, but he didn't do a lot.
Starting point is 00:12:13 And then when we went full coward mode, he was like, cool, I'll just stand over here and I'll just deliver like five of the best crosses you've ever seen in your life. Right. You want to put seven men back there? Cool. I'll just hit it over them.
Starting point is 00:12:29 It was just like, yeah, the guy. Well, I think that's what people can't appreciate. It's like, dude, he's not even burning people. It's like, dude, he knows what his skill set is, and he's now using his just godlike ability to be like, okay, if I'm not going to beat this man on the dribble, let me at least put this fucking ball on a laser guided fucking beam into the dangerous spots just for somebody to finish. And you're like, yeah, that's how he's.
Starting point is 00:12:53 influencing the game. It's like he's doing these penetrating runs all of a sudden. He's like, no, let me find a pass and let me actually get it there with my technique. And yeah, it was wild. But anyway,
Starting point is 00:13:02 shout out to everybody who saw that final and now thinks they know everything about Lionel Messi and that he's fucking, he's garbage. Oh, unbelievable, man. Also, I don't, I don't want to blame Tuchel entirely.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Yeah, I know there was a bad strategy, right? Mm-hmm. But I think you guys scored too early because I think Argentina going down is what triggers messy to come out of the cast. He goes Undertaker mode whenever it's like
Starting point is 00:13:29 he won't do it until he absolutely has to. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so Spain not scoring into extra time, it was too late. Right. Yeah. Yeah. And then Marino's face saved the day
Starting point is 00:13:39 because I think that was going in his shot. Oh my God. Oh my God. I'm curious. It was so fucking hard. Yeah. Yeah. He smashed that.
Starting point is 00:13:49 Yeah. Yeah, I mean, the two, I mean, Don't get me. The Tuchill thing, I'm bad. I didn't mean. No, no,
Starting point is 00:13:55 it's fine because I saw Andros Townsend tried to put a really good argument forward about like, he saw the team, he noticed, so he reverted, it's like, put on Ollie Watkins. You've got to put on an outlet.
Starting point is 00:14:05 You can't just have grain running through treacle up. Like, and he takes off Gordon. And then he puts, I was just like, the guy, fine, if you wanted to,
Starting point is 00:14:14 but he also, I think he literally just shit himself. He went, against Mexico, England, a 10 men, they just put five back. And they're just like,
Starting point is 00:14:21 yeah, But they don't have Messi in their team. Right. And they don't have, for now, they don't have all these guns. Just full on shit the bed. And I hope he, I was going to say something really, I just hope he learns from it.
Starting point is 00:14:34 Yeah. Chris, I got to just point out that your Zoom background, when you're sitting at a certain angle, it looked like you have Danny Welbeck's hair and you got a gumby fro cut. And it's kind of fucking me up. That's fine. I like it.
Starting point is 00:14:47 There we go. I'm like, did you, were you a backup dancer for? MC Hammer on the two legit Very Bobby Brownish. Yeah. I loved it. I mean, Danny Welbeck. What a player.
Starting point is 00:14:58 I mean, Danny Welbet would have been a good option to take on the... Anyway, he got a squad wrong, and he shit the bed against Argentina, and it was just like, none to that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:07 Yeah. You know, also my favorite moment was Justin Bieber not quite sure if he hit his, his cue at the end? Oh, wait, what was his cue? The halftime show. He comes out and it's like,
Starting point is 00:15:21 I don't know. It was just like a two-second looking confused. Yeah. Yeah, he just didn't know where he was like, is it done? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:30 It's like he, it looks as if he's looking at Infantino to see if the check cleared. Yeah, I get that. Yeah. Knowing Bieber, he would have been like,
Starting point is 00:15:37 bro, I need the cash right now, bro, I'm not going out there. I mean, the way he was, he was dressed like Billy Madison. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:43 Like he had like a tattered sweater on top of a tattered Oxford shirt. And I'm like, bro, I think he'd seen Rinaldino and Ronaldo come out. in that little convertible. Haunted. What am I?
Starting point is 00:15:54 It looked like, it looked like a photo of, like, your grandma and grandpa from the past. Yeah. Like, if someone would photograph that in black and white, you'd be like,
Starting point is 00:16:04 we're going on a nice drive. Right. It was me and Madonna. And they're probably only like 47 years of age. Right. I mean, that was a, that halftime show. Ronaldo got to be at least 63.
Starting point is 00:16:20 Come on. Ronald is not 60. R9. He's probably what, like 50? Let me see. Ronaldo. R9. 49, bro.
Starting point is 00:16:31 He'll be 50. He'll be 50 this September. Yeah. He's our generation, man. I mean, no, that's not my generation. Him and Wayne Rooney are definitely the winners of like peak football player who as quick as human possible got into show you what they would look like if they weren't a professional athlete.
Starting point is 00:16:50 you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. They've got the Ricky Hatton in between, like, getting ready for fighting weights, like, happy medium. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Charles Barkley International Award winner. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He lost the reason. He lost the reason.
Starting point is 00:17:07 Also, it was wild just to see the Muppets being led by great Philharmonic conductor, Gustavo Doudamel, which felt very, I was like, that was so L.A. coded to see Dutamel and the Muppets. I was like, bro, that's all. That he used to be art. That's all that way. I feel anymore. Yeah. I know him.
Starting point is 00:17:25 I know him. Uh, and then Shakira, anyway, it was, it was what it was. And assless Shakira. Now, last time I saw Shakira, she did the halve time of the Super Bowl a few years ago. And people were taking bets on if she was going to show butt cleavid. Oh, interesting. This Shakira, a more slender Shakira. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:43 And she, and she was being, I guess, more chaste for the international audience as well. I think Infantino told her take the ass off. I think she unclipped her ass for the world. She got a removable bum. It's a new surgery. We got kids watching this, you know, and don't come. And don't bring up that I'm kicking it with Donald Trump, as I mentioned that. But some things are appropriate and some things are inappropriate.
Starting point is 00:18:05 Okay. Yeah, that trophy lift was also wild when he. Obviously, Trump just stood on the end. Yeah, he's like the thing today. Dude. It's, it's. Yeah, I mean, the way. The medals for the refs, too.
Starting point is 00:18:18 That's the one for me. Yeah. Are they always given the refs gold medals? Yeah. They always give them a little participation award. What? And Argentina didn't face them for it, which is, they turn their backs, yeah. You just have to, but what, but why?
Starting point is 00:18:32 Like, they got absolutely spanked. They got, that's why I don't understand. They didn't do anything like untoward or immoral to win. If Argentina had won through, and like, you know, Peretta should have been sent off like five times. Yeah, right. And he just came on at half time right. And I was like, this guy is. I don't like the angry dude.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Yeah. Yeah, yeah. He's come on like like a sort of like Vinny Jones like from 40 years ago. But yeah, like I'd understand Spain, but like Argentina, you got completely schooled and you should have lost three to four nil at least. Yeah. And then why are you being like little cry babies about it? I don't get it. Well, tensions are running high and they must have felt that they deserve to win even though the fucking results on the pitch said the exact fucking opposite.
Starting point is 00:19:19 Um, there was that one moment in the Argentina, England game. Who was it? Was it Bellingham who was saying some shit to Messi and Messi gave him the, oh. Oh, yeah, that means now a meme. Yeah, when he was like, that you don't want to see. You do not want to see Lionel Messi make that face. Like we said, oh, oh, oh, so it's like that. Someone's saying, oh, so it's like that and they have goat level ability.
Starting point is 00:19:42 Yeah, bro, you fucked up. You never want to see something like that. Yeah, he hit him with the, you want to talk about mother's face. Yeah. Oh, yeah. He went white chicks on him. He's like, oh, okay. You act like I haven't met your mom, bro.
Starting point is 00:19:57 You want to do that? Okay, okay, okay. Okay. I see you. I see you. Yeah, he was not okay after that. Anyway, do we want to talk about the third place match at all? It was quite funny.
Starting point is 00:20:09 Yeah. It was like, I wasn't going to watch it, and then my son didn't nap. So then I was like, let's put it on. And I had a best game to watch. Yeah, I had a casual soccer fan in America going, it was like, is it just like this because no one's really trying to defend? I was like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:27 It was like the NBA-R-old. Yeah. Right. 100%. No one's 4-0 at half time. And like, like, people like Mbapap, basically laughing when a goal goes in. Yeah. It's funny that you can fully stat pad, though.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Like, Saka's got a hat-trick at the World Cup. Like, Belling him, Belling him at the end, that goal was by a mile the funniest goal. Just, I'm just going to run the length of the field. No one's really going to try. I'm going to try. Yeah. All right, here. Boom.
Starting point is 00:20:50 Dad, dad decides to turn it on against his six-year-old. Right, right, right. Cool. I'll bury it. Listen, I loved it, though. Honestly, I thought, I'm like, the first half, as a guy who is rooting for so many guys on England, I'm like,
Starting point is 00:21:08 it's that, like, the release of the rage of the Argentina loss. Give me four goals. Right. Let's score 10, maybe. Right. France coming back. also uh saliba not playing loved it oh i mean because that guy in the fucking bubble wrap now yeah um when when it was four three though it was like at four nearly like oh look if we attack
Starting point is 00:21:30 even though it's completely irrelevant but i was like i was angry about saka and i was still angry took rice off as well because before we hadn't conceded against i was seen it until he took rice off. And then, and then when it's 4-3, though, I was like, if he loses this, will that, like, tilt? Right.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Because it, like, it didn't matter, but it was like, well, if you can't even hold a 4-0 lead, then you shouldn't rerun in this team. But obviously, we'll never know. But 6-4 is a funny scoreline. I will say that. And the friend texted me,
Starting point is 00:22:02 I was like, is tomorrow's final going to be a little bit less fun. I go, I bet it's 1-0. And, yeah, he's complaining. halfway through the game going, well, this is, so yeah,
Starting point is 00:22:12 because people actually care about conceding a goal. How can you watch this, man? Yeah, rack up the score. Yeah. That's, I got so many,
Starting point is 00:22:21 how can you watch this, man? I was like, maybe the World Cup don't need to be here no more. You guys are fucking annoying the shit out of me. Like,
Starting point is 00:22:30 yes, the score is one zero, guys. It's a different sport. I don't know what else to say to these people. How come that, like, long range goals and we're three goals.
Starting point is 00:22:42 What? No, it doesn't matter, dude. There's no three point line. What the fuck you're talking about? Go fucking sandblast yourself or stop talking to me. You might need to be watching Sandblast, bro. This might be the wrong one for you. MTV's Sandblast. We'll see you right there. All right, let's take a break. We'll come back. We'll keep talking World Cup and some other shit after this. I'm Ruby Carr, the host of the podcast, Encore. Starting point is 00:23:46 and we discuss the absolute best of things. It's that, and then there's everything else. He would just shout one line, and it would murder. Marie Lunch! Bill Burr. Let's talk about the best moments that we had on the road. I would love a cocktail. Do Joe could get last row, middle scene on a Southwest Airlines flight?
Starting point is 00:24:05 Joe, how was your flight? It was great. The guy on Penn State, moving on the field, and the player thought Joe. Joe is his former coach. And he hugged him. And he hugged him. And Joe just went with it.
Starting point is 00:24:14 And the guy goes, what are you doing here, coach? And Joe just goes, man. And you walk in and it is bananas. I mean, it's a feast for the eyes. And I was like, it's not my thing either. But we're here. When in Rome? Top athletes, chefs, musicians, everybody.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Listen to Paul's best podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, my love. Starting your day can be. tough. The hit podcast Love Trapped is back with new updates in the case of Laura Owens. This is CR 2025 State v. Laura Owens.
Starting point is 00:25:48 I think she really believes that she still hasn't out. I'm quite confident that they're up to something. We're following the case live as the criminal charges finally come to a conclusion. Trust us when we tell you as the victims of Laura Owens, she will not stop. Listen to Love Trapped on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. I have seen a lot. There's been a lot of content about, like, new fans to the sport.
Starting point is 00:26:23 I feel like I'm seeing a lot of, like, sort of short TikTok, Instagram videos. People be like, I'm actually so down for soccer now. But there's also, like, memes, like, when people have been like, oh, so you think you're down for this? So, like, what are you going to do when you're watching a Copa del Rey match against fourth, fourth league, like, fourth division opposition that ends in a draw? Are you ready for that? It ain't going to be all messy. the Muppets and things like that.
Starting point is 00:26:46 But it's funny too, to you see, like on Reddit, on Twitter, there's so many people be like, okay, I think I'm ready to, I'm ready to pick a club team. Which one should I pick? Right now, I'm choosing between Newcastle United, Leicester, and, uh, another one called Portsmouth. What, um,
Starting point is 00:27:05 guys, just give me like some ins and outs about all this. It's interesting, too, to see people fall into picking a club because it wasn't, I'm sure like, I don't know if it was like that for you, Jemot. it wasn't like that for me, Chris. I know certainly it wasn't like that for you. But like, it's interesting to see people be like, I like soccer now, must find team I like. Without like, I don't know, there's like an interesting,
Starting point is 00:27:25 there's like a disconnect. Like an AI technique. Well, yeah, but. And I'm credit to the people I see always posted like, man, it's not as simple as that. Like, sure, if you want to pick a team to root for, go ahead and do that. But like, if you're trying to be out here, like,
Starting point is 00:27:39 screaming your bloody head off, like, dead in the streets. It's, that process takes a little bit. because you're going to have to find a club that, like, resonates with you in a way that's beyond. Well, I guess I'm Manchester City now because I like Halen. Listen, bro, I'm not like most American. I know I'm the most American guy on this show. And I know that I, yeah, I jerk off with the Star Spangled Banner on in the background. Yeah, I still, yeah, I stand up and do the Pledge of Allegiance alone.
Starting point is 00:28:08 You're not getting smacked up at the Cubs game, like that one guy? Yeah, I do all that, okay? but when I finally gravitated to this nut-ass sport, I took 10 years. I was like, I'm just watching. Right. I don't know where I'm at. I know that this shit is tight.
Starting point is 00:28:27 I don't really know what's happening. I'll get back to you. And then when anybody would ask me, who's your team? Who's your team? I'm like, bro, I'm watching the Premier League. I'm living in Woodbridge, Virginia. I don't think I'm not so sure I'm in a position to pick. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:41 Ah, right. And then some shit just happened, you know? And then you're like a, like a flight, like a flight of teams. You're just kind of sampling. Yeah, yeah. Like a micro brewery style. You're like, all right. You're like, give me what it is.
Starting point is 00:28:54 I like a bit of that. I like a little bit of that Tottenham like fuckery, pathos. But I want a few more, few more results tied to it. So that's Arsenal. Yeah. You don't want you. You want the glory of a city, but not the bankable glory. So you end up in Arsenal.
Starting point is 00:29:09 Yeah. Okay. I like that. It's amazing. to see, though, what Holland has done for, like, city support, because I feel like that his performance alone has just generated an entire generation of Manchester City.
Starting point is 00:29:20 Oh, the PR firm owes him a fucking cake. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it makes sense. I mean, like, it's, that was like, that was like with me going Brazil crazy in like 1998. Like, I was like, bro, fucking Brazil. Even though they didn't win, I was like, yo, this shit is the fucking coolest shit I've ever seen. I love this Ronaldo guy.
Starting point is 00:29:39 And it was over after that. but yeah, it's, it's, it's, I'm, I'm very curious to see. Should we, should we just do a launch a campaign to show them his video about trying to cook a steak for 20 minutes just to see if it can really sort the wheat from the chaff of the Harlan fans? Are they ready for that? You think you like him? You think you like him on the film when there's a little Snapchat?
Starting point is 00:29:58 Check out. YouTube channel, mate. Yeah? It's funny because I mentioned that to someone and they watched it. I'm like, oh, this is so pure. And I was like, ah. And I'm like, it's over. We don't want you.
Starting point is 00:30:10 We don't know. They're like, oh my gosh, this is so, this is so cute that he thinks no one's recognizing him in the Joker costume. Oh, that's really cute. And he's so excited, so genuine. He's so sincere. And part of me is like, I definitely can't say like he's being insincere because he absolutely isn't.
Starting point is 00:30:25 I think that's kind of what's funny about it is that he's genuinely like, bro, they're going to fucking freak out when they realize it's me. But yeah, look, like we said, he's shack, bro. There's nothing we can do about it. He's shack. And everyone's got the giant sneaker at their local mall. they're going to look at and they're going to be wearing
Starting point is 00:30:41 Orlando Magic jersey at the end of it is what it is. And that's, I just, just like him for real, man. Don't you score them score once and hit that stupid fucking drum.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Like, it's more than that. Ryan said it in the chat, man. Like, if you can watch a one old baseball game, you can watch this bullshit. Right.
Starting point is 00:31:00 You can. It's that. You just be like, just so you know, he never hits the drum at Man City. Okay? Yeah. Right.
Starting point is 00:31:08 And if he did. There'd be four people in the whole of the stadium to watch it. Mm-hmm. There are two weeks where it was Holland mania out here was driving me nuts. I'm like, you guys don't know him for real. A women attracted to him? Is that part of it? A women attracted to him?
Starting point is 00:31:23 Yeah. It was basically, yeah, all the girlies was like. They want a guy's hair. Either you like. They want to pull a guy's hair. Yeah, either you want to pull Holland's hair or you're like, you're trying to be Vosignia's mistress. Those was the two paths of the girlie.
Starting point is 00:31:38 It's like, do you want to say? support Man City or a team in the Chilean league. Those are you up. Yeah. So which one's going to be easier to find on TV? Exactly. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:48 I mean, I'm rocking with Colo, colo. Okay. Yeah. I got a pink bozini jersey coming in the mail. I mean, I guess should we talk a little bit about that too?
Starting point is 00:31:59 Because there's also some movement. There's a lot of movements going on now that we are, now it's transfers. Now we get into the real best thing about being. the football fan, which is the transfer scene. Wild, reckless speculation. Here we go. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:32:15 Shut your ass up. Fabrizio. Nobody gives a fuck about you, man. Did you got on Twitter, which I know you don't really go on much? I'm not calling it by the other name. I just check football stuff on their. No, use it's Christian names. It's called it. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Him and Florian, is it Petterburg? Plattenberg. Yeah. They were having a right old, right? I was like, mom and dad having an argument, mate. It was a right old back and forth. Full of like full chunks of like, well, you're a liar.
Starting point is 00:32:42 I used to respect you. Oh, yeah. Well, you were the one that sent me DMs asking how I could grow my channel. It was just like just out in the open. It was just like, look, yeah, who's, which one is, who's going to be Tyrese by the end of this?
Starting point is 00:32:57 Is it going to be Fabrizio Romano crime? Fabrizio in tears. Do you have like Fabrizio Django audition tape? That's funny. all that to say. I don't know why, but Fabrizio Romano by the end of him, maybe he's got like, don't look at my jangle tape.
Starting point is 00:33:17 Don't look at my DMs. Please. He definitely got a, yeah, he got a couple of tapes. But I guess, I won't elaborate. But here's a couple of things. Do you reckon when he's in bed?
Starting point is 00:33:27 He says, here we go. Oh, God. Yeah. Every time. And she's like, oh, please, Fabrizio. I'm sorry. All they groupies,
Starting point is 00:33:34 are they groupies who wanted to say that? Like, I don't know. That's got to be a special brand of self-hatred if you're trying to be a Fabrizio Romano. 43-year-old. Forty-three-year-old man is what it's got to be. Yeah, the groupies are men catfishing him with AI to try and learn about the transfer market. That's what it is. Yeah, because they're trying to make a bet on Kalshi. Tell me something naughty.
Starting point is 00:33:56 And he's like, um, uh, Vinie Jr. is not renewing his contract. Oh. Oh. Sorry, sorry, mate. I just got to quickly, tell everyone I know. ITK, ITK. But yeah, that's so a lot of transfer news. First up, Zidan has been tapped to be the new French national team coach, which is very interesting. I like this era of, you know, like new managers seeing what they can do former stars. I mean, obviously Zadan has his own history as a manager that's pretty, pretty filled with achievements.
Starting point is 00:34:33 So that'll be interesting to see what's going on there. but then in club news, right? We were talking about Chelsea. They are in the midst right now of being rumored to be wanting to sign Jordan Henderson and our boy Welbs
Starting point is 00:34:49 which, and it makes sense because Jabby Alonzo's like, bro, I need people who like have a head on who know this league, who can actually be leaders, because I got a bunch of fucking scrub-ass children in here running fucking wild and I need a calming influence.
Starting point is 00:35:03 I'm like, those are actually, I totally get those. but it's funny to see just all the memes about like other people. It's like between Shaka and them, it's like, okay, you're getting the like space cowboys together for one last ride to do something. Aston Villa signing Garnacho. What's going on? What do we think that could be related to?
Starting point is 00:35:25 Do we think it's, hmm. Go on. What's your theory, my man? Talk to us, Chris. Well, I'm sure it's a coincidence, but a couple of days before. they did pay a English transfer record for Morgan Rogers
Starting point is 00:35:40 to go to Chelsea and obviously by son in Garnacho who obviously in his own right is a very well-loved player who's not got any memes about him or his ability
Starting point is 00:35:55 to then pay a lot of money for him to go the other way it's like a bit it's like a loan deal is it with an obligation I think it's a clean it's something It's something where I'm sure it's completely coincidental.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Oh, it's a loan. Yeah, it is a loan. I think with an obligation potentially. Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure it has nothing to do with carbon offsetting the value overly high price on Morgan Rogers. Right. They're like, all right, bro, you, okay, look, we'll buy Morgan Rogers, but you have to take garnacho. And Bill is like, oh, man, we already got the Rwanda as the main shirt sponsor, bro.
Starting point is 00:36:35 I don't know if the fans are going to like us bringing in Garna. Okay. Yeah. I guess what's. Conacho suffers from baddy face. Do you know what I mean? He could be a lovely bloke. He's just got a face of, and I don't mean that baddie in the new colloquial term. No, no, punchable.
Starting point is 00:36:50 I mean, he looks like 90s baddie, like machine gunned you with his henchmen. It's a sharp, pointy feature. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's just like fucking ratty looking. You know what I mean? I don't like that. United. What do we think of Telemans and
Starting point is 00:37:06 Andre Santos from Chelsea coming in? They're working on that midfield. Definitely working on it. You got Casamiro gone, but yeah, that's interesting. I'll be honest. Manchester United is my biggest concern going into next season.
Starting point is 00:37:20 Okay. No lie. And it just, no, no. Because they got to play you, when they go to play you. I'm going with you. When they play, because any team, nah, nah, nah, nah, no.
Starting point is 00:37:29 It's the no Europe to Europe thing. So they're not going to be ready for an extra day. Every game that Carrick played where he had a midweek game, I think they didn't win it or something. And find they're reinforcing, but they're not like shopping
Starting point is 00:37:43 in the highest echelon of player, right? Like, Telemans is good, perfectly good player. And Sansos, I haven't watched him enough to know. Yeah, but like, you know, it doesn't mean they can't be good.
Starting point is 00:37:57 But we'll see. I think a lot of it all hinge on Sheshko, as the cool kids say. And I'm sure how he says his own name. it just feels weird do you know what I mean I just feel weird
Starting point is 00:38:07 like there's no H&S or I sound pretentious I'm such an English islander that I'm sound pretentious saying a man's name
Starting point is 00:38:15 correctly I think his pop this motherfucker yeah I thought Yuri Tileman's was like 24 he's 29
Starting point is 00:38:24 he's 29 yeah my bad he just he got baby face yeah just thought yeah
Starting point is 00:38:30 whoops I thought he had room to improve but this is no that's right where he is. He's got B2K face. Exactly. No.
Starting point is 00:38:36 Um, and then Tottenham though, Andy Robertson coming in, Van Hecker from Brighton, uh, duvv, uh, do they send Dubrovka,
Starting point is 00:38:46 Matas Fernandez, which is a huge run from West Ham and Sandro Tonali. They spent 85 million on Mateus Fernandez and a hundred on our boy Sandro, bro. What the fuck? No, Sandra.
Starting point is 00:38:58 Those are good, um, those are good, um, those are good signings. those are good signings. Like, they spent, Too much money, but they'll get signings. Yeah, yeah. They're going to, I feel like that's a, they're realizing they needed a solid midfield.
Starting point is 00:39:12 And they've definitely purchased two players, even though Mattias, who knows, maybe Mattias will bring them down too, because he has a bad record with taking teams down with him. But who knows? Oh, he didn't just take West Ham down? Yeah, that's what I'm saying. And prior to that, where was he at Southam?
Starting point is 00:39:26 No, he transferred from, he was, he's just always just from one vine to the next. Is he Aaron Ramsdale of Centralwoodfielders? Oh, boy. But yeah, I don't know. I mean, that's also some pretty good recruiting, I got to say, from from Tottenham, too. It's just, it's energetically, can Derby really get them performing. What type of jeans is Deserby going to be wearing as one more?
Starting point is 00:39:46 What signings he done in the jeans department? You know what I mean? How many rips? How many rips will be on the jeans this season? Are we going, how are we going to relate the rip to gene ratio? Is that confidence? The more rips, the more confidence? Is he is he trying to project like a,
Starting point is 00:40:04 strength with the rips and really he's scared. How are you reading the rips? I'm reading the rips. Well, how do... Well, you go. You give me a fashion-easter. Well, I just had a follow-up question. I just had a follow-up question for you, Chris.
Starting point is 00:40:16 You are the jeans expert, technically. Where do zippers that don't go anywhere factor in as well? I mean, that's a big... I think fake zips is... I mean, it's an insecurity, right? So the more zips and rips and rips, the less... The less happy is... When you know...
Starting point is 00:40:34 know they're a real problem when he's wearing just normal jeans and no zips on the on the boot. Because he had like zips and spikes on his shoes right before. Yeah, that's like it's the guy, it's like a guy with small penis vibe, right? You know what I mean? But he's like he's got small penis? He could have a lot. He avoided the drop, though. He avoided the drop with those rips, zips and spikes.
Starting point is 00:40:53 You think he doubles down? He's like, come on, don't fail me now. He's coming up. He's looking like he's in guar. He's like his lucky jeans and shoes. But that's sort of avoiding the drop. That's not like winning stuff. I mean, my lucky Hawaiian shirt ran out of luck for the semifinal of the World Cup.
Starting point is 00:41:06 So we'll see. Just somebody to keep an eye on each week. The amount of rips he's got on there. Rips and spikes. The less there are, the more worried I'm worried. Less rips and spikes and zips. I'm getting worried. But long may the unnecessary additions to his bottom half continue.
Starting point is 00:41:25 Yeah, yeah. If he comes out with like Amiri jeans or like chrome hearts, looking like he's in young thugs entourage. there's going to be a problem. I'm like, oh, this guy's, something's wrong. And I don't know if it's good or bad. But if he comes out in patchwork denim,
Starting point is 00:41:42 I don't know, all I will say is that it will communicate to me on a very human level, something is wrong and it doesn't make me feel good. I don't know if it's good or bad, but I just do know, do not come up in patchwork jeans. And don't be surprised if you see him
Starting point is 00:41:56 pull out a hookah during an FAA cup match. Or maybe like, that's care about. You might pull out the hoop. than that because you some people smoke cigarettes are probably not allowed anymore they used to be cigars
Starting point is 00:42:08 no no no that's red hour back what about vapes I mean oh he's got a vape I mean sponsored vape you have to tape over the sponsor you know
Starting point is 00:42:18 who was um uh Germany's manager who's always eating his boogers yeah yoke him low oh yo he loo yeah you lov if he was out here eating boogers and like
Starting point is 00:42:28 and digging in his ass and smelling it let's let somebody let's let's let somebody that's a my type. Yeah. You know what I mean? Because those clips
Starting point is 00:42:34 of your Yergy Love on the sidelines just getting them off. Yeah. More upsetting than watching somebody fake. Germany was at their best
Starting point is 00:42:43 when he was smelling I know. It was actually. And just being like, hmm, what that do? It takes so much to win on the international
Starting point is 00:42:53 the level of crack. Yeah. This is lucky bumcrack. He has to rob his assholes. It's lucky one. Like MJ shorts? A half time, all the players had to just scratch his, scratch his crap.
Starting point is 00:43:04 Bro, sniffing his fingers, eating his boogers. He had an undefeated mixtape. But it was one of those things where people didn't even care. It's like, bro, he's delivering, actually. So, yeah. Yeah, bro. It's funny because you're right. Amorim when he had his little tactics board when they were like not doing good.
Starting point is 00:43:20 And I'm, oh, look at him with his tactics because he was crap. So they're like, look out. This guy, I mean, completely reasonable thing to be doing if you're good. But turns out if you're, it's, how many thing in football went as the results, mate. You get the results. scratch your that's the level of success digging your ass yeah
Starting point is 00:43:33 Artetta this year shove your fingers up there mate go on knock yourself out shove on me could you imagine he's just he's scratching his ass from the front though he's like oh
Starting point is 00:43:44 just looking it around you're like run just based on the amount of kilometers he covers in the technical area he would have the sweatiest of bottles
Starting point is 00:43:55 yeah yeah yeah he does or just doing the thing or like he's trying to tuck his shirt in but he thinks he's in a urinal so he's fully undos his pants and pulls him down and then gets them back up just to make sure it's tucked in right ass out. They're like, bro, what the
Starting point is 00:44:07 fuck did he just do? Guys. He's wearing a jockstrap support. He's not even wearing underwear, bro. That shit was crazy. Guys, we're champions. Take a look, guys. Guys, what I say about freedom, guys. Your butt cheeks have to be out, guys.
Starting point is 00:44:23 People say, guys, people say I'm too rigid. I'm too rigid. Does this look like a rigid? No, no, no, no, no, guys. This is the Vinnie Jr. of sideline behavior. Oh, my God. Well, look, let's take another break. And when we get back, we need to talk about some real transfer news.

Starting point is 00:45:36 Marie, lunch! No, Burr. Let's talk about the best moments that we had on the road. I would love a cocktail. Dude, Joe could get last row, middle scene on a Southwest Airlines flight. Joe, how was your flight? It was great. The guy on Penn State, moving on the field.
Starting point is 00:45:52 And the player thought Joe is his former coach. And he hugged him. And he hugged him, and Joe just went with it. And the guy goes, what are you doing here, coach? And Joe just goes, man. And you walk in and it is bananas. I mean, it's a feast for the eyes. And I was like, it's not my thing either.
Starting point is 00:46:09 But we're here. When in Rome? Top athletes, chefs, musicians, everybody. Listen to Paul's best podcast on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Stephanie Young. The hit podcast Love Trap is back with new updates in the case of Laura Owens. This is CR 2025, State versus Laura Owens. I think she really believes that she still hasn't out.
Starting point is 00:46:34 I'm quite confident that they're up to something. We're following the case live as the criminal charges finally come to a conclusion. Trust us when we tell you as the victims of Laura Owens, she will not stop. Listen to Love Trapped on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's Chelsea Handler from Dear Chelsea. This season, we've got some awesome guests ready to dole out advice. guests like Tiffany Haddish Kind of slide into people's DMs.
Starting point is 00:47:02 I like Bumble. Also, girl, Farmers Only.com. At state sales, funerals, auctions are usually good. There's a lot of good men there. Grocery stores near gyms. Darcy Cardin. I remember being like,
Starting point is 00:47:16 I know this is good advice, but like I really don't want to do that. So you didn't take her advice? I didn't take her advice. Are you still friends with that woman? No. She actually was kind of toxic. Neil DeGrasse Tyson.
Starting point is 00:47:27 I spent my whole life looking up. I was a geek kid. I had a telescope at age 12. And so... So you didn't have sex for a long time. Sherry O'Terry. Were you a soap opera person? Young and restless.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Okay. Well, first of all, you should know it's the young and the restless. I can't even believe you're mispronouncing the title. Some of us abbreviated because we've been... So weird for so many years. T.S. Madison. Are you into Polly?
Starting point is 00:47:50 No. No. I don't think so. No. I could have told you no on that. Girl, why do not into Polly? Just based on... what she's wearing and the way her hair is styled.
Starting point is 00:48:00 She was not in a polly. She's not in a polly. Anna Ferris, Dave Franco, Madeline Klein, Hannah Gadsby, Adam Scott, Wanda Sykes, and more. Listen to Dear Chelsea on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:48:26 And we're back. So, what's new? Who are the other teams trying to sign? Huh? you got Bradley Barcola for PSG saying they're not going to let him go
Starting point is 00:48:39 for something like nothing less than like 130 million 140 yeah what the fuck are y'all smoking on and then we get an Ornstein fucking bombassel coming out saying
Starting point is 00:48:50 that Arsenal are in our exploring exploring a deal for Venetius Jr. Many on the internet have pointed out that whenever Ornstein has said we are exploring it has typically
Starting point is 00:49:02 ended in a signing the most intriguing part of the Ornstein Bomba was that he said there is agreement at all levels to pursue this which you're like Stuart McFarlane's on board yeah yeah the Youth Academy likes it
Starting point is 00:49:19 everybody agrees the kit guy is in yeah Vic Acres has come back to be like yeah I'm having that as well Vic Ackers he's got his shorts on yeah scratch my legs
Starting point is 00:49:33 They're lucky legs. That was always wild, too. Just a quick aside of Vic Akers when he's like, our kit man was the main women's squad manager too. When it was like, before they're like, what's he? He does like, man, he does kit. And he also, he's running the women's team.
Starting point is 00:49:46 That's true. Any sign of the growth of the women's game is that they have a professional coach coaching them rather than a kit man walking around in shorts. The kit man from the men's first team. Vick, you don't have a lot on, mate. You just wash the kits. Can you get the ladies to run around for a minute?
Starting point is 00:50:02 He was the one. Wasn't he the one that hated Flamini cutting the sleeves and shit? He was the one who hated that era of our players like modding their uniforms in the tunnel because he was like, that's not proper kit wearing. Anyway. But anyway, so we got this Ornstein bomb
Starting point is 00:50:17 Venetius with the new chin. We haven't even gotten to that. He got a new shit. The transfer market is nuts. He changed his face. That's how you know he's coming. Yeah. He was getting ahead of it, bro. He knows how. He wanted to look like
Starting point is 00:50:32 skepta. Because he's coming in London. On the chin. On the chin. On the chin. I've never looked at his chin and thought he needs a new chin. It just showed you, it's like, what was wrong with his chin? He hadn't. I mean, I get if you're looking at your face all the time, you're like, bra.
Starting point is 00:50:50 And people probably fuck, because it sounded like people fucked with him about his chin a lot. So this was, because someone posted on the thing, I don't know if it was AI, but like, one of his, like, girlfriend's friends was like, finally. posted that under the thing and I'm like, oh, y'all been talking to him about this shit. Oh, that's me. Sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:07 I mean, you got to, his face is being caricatured a lot. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. Exactly. Yeah, I know. It might have broke him. It definitely broke him. What am I saying?
Starting point is 00:51:16 He's got a new chin. What was, well, I did tweet this? Oh, no, did I text this in the group? Jamel, the one, the last one running, and I said,
Starting point is 00:51:24 you know, I said, guys, this is the fogging standards. We're looking for guys. He's making himself more aerode die fucking Namik, so he can be quick on the wing, guys. Guys, look at these.
Starting point is 00:51:35 He's literally get into the channels faster. He's lobing off parts of it. He's turning 26, coming into his prime. He wants to take another half a second off, guys. Guys, we're going to have to give it up to him, guys. We're going to call him killmonger, guys. Because the last guy to do this to his chin, guys, and reach to the top, Michael B. Jordan, guys. Now, think about that, guys.
Starting point is 00:51:55 Changed his life. Look at this guy. He was just like, who's that kid on the wire? Guys, he's now. he's now fucking Michael B. Jordan, guys. One simple chin plant, guys. He's got a PowerPoint, and it's just like one side is
Starting point is 00:52:09 the wire Michael B. Jordan and then he... To killmonger. He's just a killmonger. Well, you think, well, what if Vinnie came out with the killmonger dreads? Oh. Oh, that's next. Let him know. You think that's not coming? Let him know.
Starting point is 00:52:22 I think he kind of looks like Tyler Perry. Like a darker Tyler Perry. Whoa. And the new, the new chins, Vinny Jr. Yeah, yeah, yeah. there's something that I also I was also said earlier like Lukaku
Starting point is 00:52:34 cosplaying is Bill Cosby yeah he's also got the photo of him and the surgeon which continues the trend of plastic surgeons being the least attractive men you've ever seen
Starting point is 00:52:44 in your life yeah or somehow telling you what the perfect face looks like yeah yeah tell me more yeah there's a lot there is also
Starting point is 00:52:50 this fucking stupid ass tweet that they said this is from like Spanish Twitter is a theory venetius was shot dead
Starting point is 00:53:00 in a favela after his disastrous World Cup performance and Real Madrid has hired a body double to avoid losing money. Arsenal is going to sign a Cameroonian who was working on the Valdebebaas construction site, the umpteenth stroke of genius from his Florentineism. See, guys, this
Starting point is 00:53:17 the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could never. This is something different. Can I just also, I did quote this to you guys, but I think my favorite tweet about this guy on Twitter, this guy online. no new thing. I have some concerns about Junior. His body is more,
Starting point is 00:53:33 he's always always always has people's body. Sometimes he says the craziest things you've ever read. Sometimes he has to pretty perceptive things, but he starts talking about his body. And he's like worried about the flexibility. Now he's more inside. I've lost some of his outside burst. Also, his new chin surgery is a psychological
Starting point is 00:53:49 and physiological disruptor. Imagine look in the mirror one morning and you are no longer you. How would you perform? That's putting him off. Arsenal signing him. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:54:02 Oh, man. Yeah, that's a concern. Who knows? He might be like, oh, that's him. Okay. And we get another level. Brian, do Vinisi's only 26. He does a celebration
Starting point is 00:54:12 where he like turns around and does that thing where he's rubbing his shoulders. Like, you know, like it looks like he's getting. He's making out with himself. He's hooking up with himself. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:21 Yeah. Ooh. Are you doing the ice cold celebration? I'm doing that. Oh, I'm kissing myself. Can you imagine his unveiling at the Emirates? He's doing Kipi's. And he's a,
Starting point is 00:54:29 balancing that shit on his chin? If he puts a ball on his chin, I'm losing it. Bro, I'm getting a jersey. I'm getting a tatted. That outline of Vinny with the ball on his chin. You know,
Starting point is 00:54:40 you know it's going to be in a chant if you guys to Arsenal. He changed his chin to play in red and white. Which I truly think he did, man. He told Rick Ray out's contract to get in the bin. I'm coming to Arsenal
Starting point is 00:54:58 Oh, whip on you shit. Oh, shit. Yeah. If I'm a Madrid fan, I got to really feel honored by this. He changed his face. That's how much he loved us. He's not even going to have the same head anymore. Yeah, that's, like, that's how you know your partner is about to leave you.
Starting point is 00:55:20 They're like, what happened? Yeah, 100%. I just changed my grill. You know, after the World Cup, I've just been thinking about some shit, decided to get the ad on right here. My chin area. You know what I mean? Nothing new.
Starting point is 00:55:30 You know what I mean? About to go talk to some English birds in it. Yeah. Yeah. So, Adon Fodora's now. Nothing crazy. But Vinnie. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:55:38 Call me Venetius. Yeah, that's Venetius. That's Benetius, bro. Don't fuck with it. He's a real. He went from Urko to her. Erkow. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:55:50 He's the real deal. We just saw this with Tom Segura, leaving his wife and them getting split up. The glow up is what happened. before a man starts feeling himself and goes, you know what?
Starting point is 00:56:02 I think I can do better. And in this case... He switched his chin up too. I'm flattered. No, I mean, but Tom's the girl, you know, like...
Starting point is 00:56:08 But he will. He started working now. He lost weight. He was feeling himself and shit. And then next thing you know, he's like, I'm off this shit. But anyway,
Starting point is 00:56:16 I think with, I don't know, Vinny, I would love to have you here. This is the exact kind of signing that we, like, I think it speaks to my sort of
Starting point is 00:56:25 semi-still, like, low club self-esteem. We're in your mind, he go, well, sure, bro, we're not signing Venetius. This doesn't come to, he doesn't come to Arsenal. But, oh, look at us, right? We're in the Champions League final. We lost narrowly.
Starting point is 00:56:39 We just won the league. Vinny hasn't won, I think, what, like the last two seasons that have been silverwareless at Real Madrid. And yeah, this does, this actually looks like an appealing project. I'm sure, especially after two, I remember that quote, like where Vinny was like, damn, bro, Martin Odegaard fucking running shit. That's, like, like credit to him. This guy is running the fucking midfield.
Starting point is 00:56:58 We didn't even know how to fucking defend him or what he was going to do with the ball. And I'm thinking, I'm like, okay, some of these things add up. We have agents in the national team that are probably also being like, you got the two Gabby's. And if Jesus was there too, you would have three Gabby's gabing his ear off about,
Starting point is 00:57:14 hey, bro, it's nice. It's nice out here. Things are looking pretty Brazilian over at the Emeritus on the side note. The big thing is that, it's like Mbapé, they won't match his contract for it that they're going to give to Mbapé. so right we'll see i mean everyone's always going it's funny how like pessimistic like football fans i asked them i was like well won't the other players be annoyed that
Starting point is 00:57:34 he gets paid more than them i think they'll be pretty happy that they've got like an elite player in their team who's really good at football more so than them getting a bit less money than him like it but yeah it would be different it'd be interesting um i like the fact what are the expectations oh my bad no no no no no i was just going to say on the no no no what do you mean the expectations in what way well let's say you i don't you i I've been seeing what you were just talking about with people questioning like how the
Starting point is 00:58:01 the hierarchy would work with Vinnie being the highest paid guy but like what would the expectations of the fans be of him are they expecting more than like Holland like he comes into the arsenal side he's starting to take a Martinelli spot obviously but like
Starting point is 00:58:18 are we expecting 20 goals are we expecting I don't know 25 goals yeah I think you're expecting 20 goals I mean he's consistently had about 20 goals a season, even like in his off years. He's hit in 20s. And if he's like, if he came to Arsenal, it would be, I think Artetta
Starting point is 00:58:34 would have to be like, this guy doesn't defend like everyone else. So they'd have to be like factor that in, but it's like Salah, if you don't have to score, you don't have to defend as much. You have got to be banging the goals inmate. So I think at least 20. But, um, yeah, I don't know. I think the expectations, for people
Starting point is 00:58:49 have been watching long enough, they're going to be like, okay, he's a superstar. Maybe not 20. I would expect at least 15. goals from someone like that. If we get 15, that's fine. But yeah, you'd feel like after a certain transition period, he will be Vinnie Jr. and be the person who scores all these goals. And obviously, like, we would sleep through the Champions League,
Starting point is 00:59:11 Champions League group stages with him and that starting, that front three. But I think more than anything, ah, man, my expect, I'm like trying to not be... Chief is going to happen. that's the thing, right? Because obviously there's still a lot of people like, you know, this could also be him trying to leverage a better deal with Madrid. We know
Starting point is 00:59:34 there's still limits to what Madrid is willing to do and it's kind of like, bro, take it or leave it, kind of a thing. So part of me wants to be like, well, hell yeah, bro. Come through. Like, fuck it. Like, we're trying to do some shit. Bro, come through. Yeah, fuck, I love it. Poppa over, man. Come through, we'll love you,
Starting point is 00:59:50 bro. The second you turn it, you give us a little bit of a highlight tape, we're going to fucking love you. but yeah, I'm optimistic because this is kind of like one this is, I think for all of us, this is what we're hoping to do. Like to have a realistic title defense here, we have to augment the attack in a meaningful way.
Starting point is 01:00:08 Like where you go, oh shit, they're ready because everybody else is in transition still. Like that's the one thing that is slightly benefiting us is that the people that are near us are all going through a transition right now. They've all got new managers, haven't they, basically all of them?
Starting point is 01:00:23 yeah except for i guess united um but like he's carricko he'll just yeah but all that's to say like europe and that's still a project that's in flux they're still figuring things out they're replacing players or trying to change things here and there so yeah this i i i so i guess yeah if i'm being hopeful yes i want this shit to work and i think it can happen i don't think like i don't think this is too expensive considering that like clearly they've internally looked at that like what a deal looks like the kinds of numbers that we're going to have to put in front of them to him. And I don't think the squad harmony thing is really at risk because this wasn't a squad built around mercenaries. Like when you have a team of mercenaries, then they start, you know,
Starting point is 01:01:02 checking pockets and being like, what the fuck is he making? What the fuck, bro, I thought I was in here. Whereas this feels a little bit more like everyone's got ahead on. People are making good money in the positions they need to be. And most people are like, well, yeah, bro, fucking Vinnie Jr. coming into our team. Like, this is fucking crazy. This is sort of like another echelon of like, you know, true, mega world star. It's fun to dream. It's because the,
Starting point is 01:01:25 I always want to call him Aaron Rogers. Morgan Rogers thing was like, it does seem like everyone's like Arsenal being cheap, whatever, but it does seem like we won the league. We have a value in our head for players. Does seem like Bruno might happen. And I like that signing a lot,
Starting point is 01:01:39 by the way, even though he's older. I think he's a progressive, he's going to be 29 and whatever, but he'll, I think there's only three seasons. Yeah, yeah, it's 28 till he's 29. But he's, he's progressed. I think he's, that's obviously another attacking thing. Someone, you put rice there, put him in the eight, and it's progress and do all the dirty work as well.
Starting point is 01:02:00 Again, a player I do not like in any capacity unless he plays in my team. He's like run our test. He's, you don't like him unless he's playing on your team, you know. Yeah. But what was I going to say? Da, da, da, da, da, da, I've gone. I'm just too excited by Vinny Jr. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:17 No, he's, I'd love it. Oh, no, that was it. Alvarez. That's still in the mix. And then it's like Alvarez plus Yocchrez, guys, you can imagine I'd be so sad. I'd be so sad to lose, Victor. Yeah. I'd be so sad.
Starting point is 01:02:34 Oh, not you, Chris. God damn. I'd be so sad. Heartless. Heartless, bro. I mean, some people are going, why, it's like, if they manage to do that in a swap, I'll be like, well, well, play. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:46 If we had, if we got Vinnie, Alvarez and Bruno Gimerice, I'd be like, what the, okay, we're cooking with gasoline. And not to mention saliba doesn't need surgery, but does be months. And Maddoke. And Maddoke. And Nonny Mads, yeah, man. Shout to Madman. I guess he would be there. That is, that's right. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:09 Yeah. I've seen a lot of comedic content of people doing, noni welcoming Venetius to the Emirates. And my club, mate. And it's like, shut the fuck up. Yeah. Here's what you do, mate. You do four stepovers, you get to the line, and you smash you out the stadium. It's like, no, I'd rather cut back
Starting point is 01:03:28 and maybe find my man or score a goal. Oh, okay. Oh, yeah, oh, you can do it like that. You could do it your way, I suppose. Lacking imagination. All right, fair enough. I guess if you like chucking and jiving all the time, yeah, go ahead, bro.
Starting point is 01:03:41 It's not what I'm about, though. Shit. Yeah, so we will see what happens there. Apparently, this is like the showdown week. he asked a report for training, I think, at the end of this week, so talks are supposed to happen by then. And then if not,
Starting point is 01:03:55 then maybe we will begin negotiating. But there is something to like, for every mudrick, there's a trussard. And if, for all that we wanted, Mr. Morgan,
Starting point is 01:04:07 Rogers, maybe, it would just be so funny if they're like, how much, bro, one 17? Nah, right, bro,
Starting point is 01:04:13 we get Vinnie. Man, these people are fucking tripping, bro. I thought we could, I thought we could do this deal for like 80 million. And you're asking for,
Starting point is 01:04:19 fucking once, no. Because it's crazy. They're like, bro, for 20 more bucks, we could be smoking crack. Okay? Don't get the fuck off me. Fucking this rip off shit.
Starting point is 01:04:29 And we've missed, saying goodbye to Leo, Mr. Clutch. Oh, yeah. He did such a dead pan. He's their most, like,
Starting point is 01:04:38 bought, like, shirts. Is that weird thing when he plays because you ever realized that giant is? I think the shirt sales
Starting point is 01:04:43 were like the highest they've ever been for that, him joining them. Wow. And then, and then we got Solis. This little guy who might or might not be good, but it wasn't that expensive.
Starting point is 01:04:54 Yeah. But his numbers in the Belgian numbers are crazy. He's number one, like in all the meaningful offensive stats. And I got to say, too, he seems like a really good guy. Like, I like the characters that we've been signing, you're always like, bro, this guy looks like he's got a good head on his shoulders and his focus and doesn't have a ego. And, yeah, we wouldn't need that. We need that. You know, you know, Mikhail is putting these guys through the ringer, man.
Starting point is 01:05:22 The personality quiz to join Arsenal must be nuts. There's probably like, he puts you probably through like 40 hours of hitting camera shit that you don't even know about. He's like, okay, next guys, we're going to do the old man who can see and he lost the dog. Guys, and we're going to see if we're going to help the guy. Okay. And action camera and go, go, go, go, go. Have you seen my dog? Oh, no, sir.
Starting point is 01:05:44 Can I help you? Okay, good, good, good. Yeah, we're going to move to the next test. the dog has an illness that can get him sick too and we will see if he will embrace the dog as his own because he still values the life of the dog over his own well-being. Go.
Starting point is 01:05:57 Okay, so here's my dog. He has raised. Oh, God, sir. Good, good, good. Now take him to the veterinarian who is racist and we will see if he is going to push back against the veterinarian's racism. The dog is Jovert, by the way.
Starting point is 01:06:12 The dog is the fucking peace coat. Nicholas Jovair and a dog Did you see the thing of them in Hirona right now? They're training in like the pool and they were doing like one touch with the ball. And Artetta was like this, he was like, guys, this is part of the plan. Guys, if you can find space in the water, guys, you can find space out of the water. Amazing. I love it.
Starting point is 01:06:37 Everything's a lesson. The pictures are so funny because you're like, it looks like they're playing a ball game or something. But I think they're just, I think they were just keeping it up with. headers or something. Every minute is training, guys. Every minute is training, guys. Guys, guys. You'll have a nice romantic evening with your,
Starting point is 01:06:55 with your wives and your girlfriends. Exactly. Just don't think about football. He calls him right now and goes, you see a man, run left. Run behind from the left. Through ball or beat your man and pass. Boss, I'm having dinner.
Starting point is 01:07:08 Go, go, go, go. Oh, man. There was, oh, just this little bit of, news just came out. The latest thing with Venetius was that Real Madrid have sent a counteroffer to extend his contract. We'll see what happens there. And also, Athletico turned down
Starting point is 01:07:29 Julian Alvarez's a request for a face-to-face meeting to discuss the Barcelona. Why don't even do a face-to-face meeting? Jesus! Hey, can we talk about this? No. They're not entertaining it. No? But, Mom, please. I said no. You never said. What'd you say? finish eating your ham.
Starting point is 01:07:47 I hate ham. Yeah, well, we'll see. We'll see what happens. I mean, Cheney Jr., we'd love to have you, baby, you know. Do we need to talk about Robbie Williams, I meant to say, on live on there having a bit of people were debating whether it was gum or drugs or or whatever coming out of his mouth?
Starting point is 01:08:08 Yeah, what's that? What say you? Englishman. my friend was convinced it was like something out of his nose and then I think he did look like what was the big someone put in the dock they looked like Pauli Walnuts from soprano yeah he looked like a righteous gemstone
Starting point is 01:08:29 yeah crazy I mean he was probably just trying to make the the half time show just really fun watch for himself like that's the way it's going to be more enjoyable yeah yeah which is a good idea that feels like Robbie Williams is 20 years English, mate.
Starting point is 01:08:43 Pub dust, don't it? So... Yeah. Have you seen... There were so many clips of the England fans just fucking blowing up in the stands
Starting point is 01:08:50 in those last couple of games. I don't know if you saw there's a bunch of people. There was like one crowd shot where like two of their bros are trying to make a wall and behind them, they're just going off the key
Starting point is 01:09:01 like Alicia like like... Yeah, man, they couldn't they couldn't resist. They couldn't resist. Oh, he was taking... Oh, wait a minute. I see, wait.
Starting point is 01:09:11 I'm looking at this picture. Jabari put in the chat. We got Robbie Williams footage. Yeah. Yeah, he said it. He joked that it was a mint or something. Yeah. Big ass mint.
Starting point is 01:09:22 Yeah, I don't, it, it just feels like as much as we want to be like, real, bro, a guy had ecstasy fall out of his mouth. Yeah, yeah. I think it was, I think it was just a mint in his mouth. Yeah, I know. Yeah. And Robbie Williams has been getting fucked up and performing professionally. I mean, I don't think anymore, but, you know, he had his history.
Starting point is 01:09:37 I have a feeling he knows he knows how to do it discreetly if he really had to. So. That's where I'm out with that. All right. Anything else? I guess the last thing I want to say is to the people who do watch football, stop telling me that the Euros is more important than the World Cup now. That's done.
Starting point is 01:09:57 Oh, bro. You know how I know this? Lemieux Mall scored like one damn time in this fucking tournament. This guy ripped the Euros in half. It's the World Cup. I'm sick of y'all. I know. People always say that obviously the competition is quote unquote higher,
Starting point is 01:10:11 but there's something special about the World Cup, and that's the difference. And then finally, this is going to be the last episode of Ain't It Footy on the High Heart Podcast Network. Oh, shit. Yeah, this was a limited run. We got through the World Cup,
Starting point is 01:10:29 and it's time to pack our babs. But don't worry, baby, we're not getting a bad divorce. There's just a Christmas. Just a tranceper. We just do it. And guess what? Hey, dad's moving to a new place. You're going to like it.
Starting point is 01:10:39 It's cool. There's like a pool at this. building the other kids there your age, bro. Why are you that voice for it? Don't worry, bro. Like, it's going to be cool. Your mom's going to get. Robbie Williams is bringing some of his little minty minutes.
Starting point is 01:10:51 He's going to be there, bro. It will still do Thanksgiving here with your mom. You know, your mom and I are still cool. We love each other and all that.
