Starting point is 00:01:17 the Rebels, into something everyone in the South loves, the biscuits. I was a lady rebel. Like, what does that even mean? It's right here in black and white in print. It's bigger than a flag or mascot. Listen to Rebel Spirit on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In California during the summer of 1975, within the span of 17 days and less than 90 miles,
Starting point is 00:01:42 two women did something no other woman had done before. Tried to assassinate the President of the United States. One was the protege of Charles Manson. 26-year-old Lynette Fromm, nicknamed Squeaky. The other, a middle-aged housewife working undercover for the FBI. Identified by police as Sarah Jean Moore. Starting point is 00:02:10 true crime plus only on apple podcasts hello the internet and welcome to this episode of cut my sight in two pieces trend is my last resort. Bam it. That is courtesy of Toilet Ghost Hanako-san in the Discord. Going off. Going off. People kept it going, too. Johnny Davidson said, explication of tweeting. Then Doug H. Nuss said, don't give a fucking fondant on the cake I'm eating. You know, so.
Starting point is 00:02:40 Damn. Doing it all. You know, shout out to y'all. It took all my power in tomorrow's episode not to bring up fondant when we were talking about uh breakfasts lasagna is what lasagna desserts we don't know because i mean fondant is probably the dessert that is closest aligned to the texture of pasta um i'm just gonna put that out there uh that or the chewy uh parts of a jello mold that's been sitting around too yeah if i'm making a like a dessert lasagna like yeah the pasta sheets are
Starting point is 00:03:12 going to be funded even though cake is a carbohydrate and technically is probably closer but look we're going to respect the vibes respect the vibes uh i'm jack that's miles this is what's trending uh there's all sorts of nba news trending lebron signed a 85 million dollar extension is that right two years baby nice announced uh wow i it's so weird to even hear numbers like that i'm like cool 85 million dollars and still probably the most underpaid uh athlete in the nba yeah i would say so uh but yeah people are securing you know secure the bags whenever you can uh and you know he he seems to be doing good enough people are talking about this like uh it's the timing lines up for when bronwny is going to be entering the nba and so like the idea that people are just assuming his son is going to go straight from high school to
Starting point is 00:04:15 the nba uh is pretty that's something i feel i feel bad for for him if he doesn't if he isn't exactly like his dad and totally delivers on every expectation which is just... Who has ever been able to do that? Other than LeBron? Who has exceeded the shadow of the parent, of the legendary
Starting point is 00:04:39 parent? I'm sure in other circles there are that, but I don't know psychologically that does something to you. you're kind of like fuck you're always gonna have this comparison in your head there was that coke brother nephew who was like the perfect encapsulation white coke he was like he wasn't necessarily surpassing but he was the crystallization of everything of all of their values that's's true. Just in human form. Oh, also Donald Trump Jr. What am I saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Jimmy Butler is also trending. I thought because he re-signed. Turns out it's because he is dating Selena Gomez. Is that right? Oh. Okay. Shout out to him. They made a joke about her in Saved by the Bell that she did not like. Oh, really? In the reboot. Yeah, I just was by the bell that she did not like oh really in the
Starting point is 00:05:25 reboot yeah like i just was reading a headline that like she had something to say about there was like a line about how her she received a kidney transplant from justin bieber's mom and something little it's because i think she did she she was having like renal issues and actually did have yeah health issues but i don't know where that went and i was like this is okay very zeitgeisty did um did that show come out saved by the bell yeah how is it have you watched it um i don't know i haven't seen it yet i was too busy watching uh felice navidad with mario lopez on lifetime right you can only take in so much lopez you know oh so gotta make your decisions yeah and they're difficult decisions oh yeah no doubt also trying to be like does he have botox does he not is it genes what i think
Starting point is 00:06:10 he yeah i mean robert brockway shout out to brockway from uh the crack my cracked days uh one of the funniest writers i've ever worked with uh always just had this weird this what weird... We brought him on as a columnist and he just started writing these random pieces about how Mario Lopez was like this soulless automaton. And I've never been able to look at him the same way again. But I think that would explain... That's one dude who, if the Adrenochrome thing about Hollywood elites was true,
Starting point is 00:06:45 I'm not saying it's him, but I'm not accusing anyone of anything. But look at that dude. He hasn't aged since he was a teenager. Yeah. The man looks good. Bless him. And also, he haunts every domestic traveler in the United States who's ever turned a TV on in a hotel room.
Starting point is 00:07:06 He's everywhere. So true. And LeVar Ball is also trending because his third son, the last of his three sons, LiAngelo, who was not on an NBA squad, just got signed to a non-guaranteed contract with the Detroit Pistons. So he, he's just basically doing the told you so thing.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Yeah. He said all his kids are NBA quality. So, all right. All right. LaVar. Let's see how it goes down. It's really weird.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Uh, Steph Curry's brother, Seth is like also really good. It's, it's like, it started Curry's brother, Seth, is also really good. It started out as like, oh, they're going to sign him because he's his brother. But man, he's got a stroke. Don't worry. Don't take your eye off those kids. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:57 And in the underworld version of the NBA, the Styx River of Hell. River of Hell? River Sticks. Wasn't that in The Simpsons? When they make the joke and it was Sticks playing? That's the River Sticks. The NFL is what I'm trying to say.
Starting point is 00:08:17 The NFL. RG3 is trending because as we record this, the steelers are playing the ravens um they were just like we'll give you guys a day to figure it out yeah to cobble a team of able-bodied humans together to play in an nfl game uh we don't care if anyone watches it we just want you to uh hurt each other because we have to complete the season at all costs like the logic is so fucked up that it's all just like we have to get these results on paper so i don't care if you have wiz khalifa at fucking strong
Starting point is 00:08:58 safety like did you get people out there yeah so rg3 was a exciting quarterback for the washington redskins a couple of years back and then his career kind of fell apart uh he has come in for last year's nfl mvp lamar jackson who is out with covid um and yeah they were just like yeah sure throw that dude get him in there sure yeah get him in next man up the NFL treats its players like the Russian military in early 20th century oh right we got one rifle
Starting point is 00:09:36 we got one rifle and three of you so once the first guy dies you just grab it that's yours and figure out who gets it too figure out who gets it I want any fighting over rifles but yeah it's a jesus it's it's such a dark situation like football especially college and the nfl where they are so like have just taken the mindset of american conservatism like of like no we're just gonna get right through this thing fuck it all i don't understand why they couldn't you know i guess you know i know why it costs too much money to keep everyone safe I don't understand why they couldn't... I know why. It costs too much money to keep
Starting point is 00:10:05 everyone safe. I don't know why I'm even asking these things out loud anymore. Yeah. Let's talk about some of the other places in the country and institutions that have chosen to make up their own rules where convenient when it comes to social distancing and the now spiking global pandemic that is now spiking in these United States. Beverly Hills, for one, has announced, we're not going to close down outdoor dining just because you told us to, Mr. Scientist, Dr. Face Guy. We're doing things our own way. You give us more evidence than all the people who are dying.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Beverly Hills is on a tear, man. There's like a woman who owns a brow bar facial thing. She was caught in doing some homophobic rant in Echo Park the other day, magging it up. It shouldn't surprise you. Just like that rage song, I'm'm rolling down rodeo with a shotgun these people ain't seen a brown-skinned
Starting point is 00:11:09 man since their grandparents bought one that that that vibe is alive and well there wow uh yeah beverly hills is would you say that's the worst part of los angeles in yeah probably i mean right it's like the vibe there is shitty i used to work right there when i went to playboy that shit is right next to ut like in the thick of it and i was either about to be killed in a crosswalk by a bentley every time i walked to lunch yeah or you know it's just a bunch of like old people who are like like why are you eating in here? It's just whatever. Great shopping, though. I mean, God. Oh, the shopping miles. I mean, they can't
Starting point is 00:11:50 keep me out of the Gucci store. I've bought so many belts on Rodeo. What a weird fantasy. I don't know either, but I love it. Okay. White House is also going down this path they are having uh dozens maybe
Starting point is 00:12:10 yes a number of uh technically indoor events 25 indoor events uh they really don't give a fuck like everything is you know pedal to the metal fuck you on every front. So it's including putting the people who are the staff at these events fully at risk. So one of the events is going to be a congressional ball on the 10th. They'll have more than 50 guests. Oh, and then it goes along. You know, they still got more events on deck. And Stephanie Grisham, who used to be the press secretary, she was coming out defending all of this shit, saying, you know, it's going to be very safe. Quote, this includes smaller guest lists.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Masks will be required and available. Okay. It required that you just have them on you, not to be worn. Right. Social distancing encouraged while on the White House grounds and hand sanitizer stations throughout the state floor. Guests will enjoy food individually plated by chefs at plexiglass protected food stations. All past beverages will be covered.
Starting point is 00:13:08 All service staff, AKA pours will have to wear masks and gloves as to not dirty up things along with food safety guidelines. And then the last line is attending the parties will be a very personal choice. So saying, yo, if you get it,
Starting point is 00:13:23 that's on you asshole. Yes. yes yes you will have to sign away your right to being a human being uh in order to attend these parties but worth it because you will be proving to the president and your country that you are tough i mean can you imagine too like these events you know the clock is running out to get your flicks to flick it up one time at the white You are tough. I mean, can you imagine, too, like these events? You know, the clock is running out to get your flicks, to flick it up one time at the white supremacy house. So you feel like if you get an invite, if you fuck it, if you got caught, you're going. Like, how the fuck are you going to say no to dear leader? And I can only imagine, like, I'll be very surprised if people, you know, walk out of there with their health intact.
Starting point is 00:14:13 But I just really, it's just more, fuck, it's just so upsetting that the people that are truly at risk are the staff who have to be there for their job. And they're like, look, we're trying to feel normal. So, like, all these people are going to be, like, yelling in your face drunk. Yeah. And maybe you'll go, I don't know. Yeah. Maybe this is him falling through on his promise to take out the swamp just on his way out. He's doing it old school American settler style,
Starting point is 00:14:32 just spreading disease. Yeah. Hugh Key's Burn is trending because he played Immortan Joe and passed away recently. Shout out to him. Great performance and great movie mad max fury road that movie unbelievable just in retrospect what a what a piece of cinema when i talk about movies uh you know you think movies but this is cinema miles oh god it's it's so sick i have nine posters in my room bro yeah uh you know what time it is
Starting point is 00:15:08 bro margaret i got a margaret sixel tat bro she was the editor man fucking all that so revolutionary having someone who doesn't normally do action films cut that film like it just gave it such another quality it really felt yeah the everything about that was magic uh yeah the editing was wild and to think that that edit uh margaret sixel had to like fight the studio about like how they were editing it yeah just like what the cut was looking like the studio didn't believe in it anyways on to more important culture uh we have a real housewives news dump because uh a bunch of real housewives of Beverly Hills have tested positive for COVID at the same time. We don't know how they got it, so don't blame it on these new Beverly Hills policies
Starting point is 00:15:56 because also the real housewives of Beverly Hills don't live in Beverly Hills. They all live in the valley now. Do they? Yeah. I don't think any of them live i hate to see it and all this shit they want to talk about my ancestral home yeah san fernando valley yet you take to our hills to protect yourselves huh um but it had to real housewives of beverly
Starting point is 00:16:18 hills had to shut down production last week after a crew member tested positive for the virus, turns out it wasn't just the crew. It was also the cast. Oh, which ones? Kyle. Oh, yeah. Kyle Hilton? Yeah. Or U Mansky?
Starting point is 00:16:35 Kyle Richards. Richards. Oh, right. But she's... She's the one who's been day one. I mean, those people have shown their ass so much, especially during these COVID episodes. The Orange County ones were fully on their Orange County shit,
Starting point is 00:16:49 where they're like, it's a fucking hoax, y'all. And you're like, oh, please, karma, come down swiftly for these people. Take them away to their home. Sociological experiment that has gone wrong. If you want to view America as that, as a sociological experiment that's gone wrong, tune in to Real Housewives of Orange County.
Starting point is 00:17:10 One piece of news from Real Housewives of Orange County is that Bronwyn Windham-Burke, who was one of the cast members there, just came out on... An interview. Yeah, in an interview on... I think it's glad's youtube channel or something or like yeah right right um but also announced that she's going to stay married to her husband even though she's not uh attracted to him uh she came out as a lesbian and uh shout out to
Starting point is 00:17:42 to them making it work yeah i think it sounds like the quotes that are people like well if you are what is going on if you're not interested in him anymore and you she has like a side relationship uh she says that we are in uncharted territory sean and i are still married i plan on staying married we are not sleeping in the same bedroom right now but we were in the same house we're raising our kids together he's my best friend he knows the girl i'm dating yeah make it work shout out to y'all you know so does he date somebody now i mean you'd hope so for what are the rules right i mean i'd assume the the rules are he's allowed to but maybe maybe not could you imagine he's just like no no no you sit in the corner right my girlfriend's coming over. You play your part.
Starting point is 00:18:25 Right. But yeah, that Real Housewives universe. Wow. What a multi-layered cake. You said it, Miles. Yeah. All right. That's all the news we have to tell you about today.
Starting point is 00:18:39 News in quotes. We are back tomorrow with a whole ass episode of the show. Until then, guys, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Wear a mask. Wash your hands. Stay inside or outside if you're around other people. Don't do nothing about white supremacy.
Starting point is 00:18:59 And we will talk to you all tomorrow. Bye. Bye. There's so much beauty in Mexican culture, like mariachis, delicious cuisine, and even lucha libre. Join us for the new podcast,
