On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I chose option B. I'm Julie Pinero, and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first.
Starting point is 00:01:08 I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, Adam Scott, Danny McBride, Ben Stillard, and a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:01:51 or wherever you get your podcasts. I survived nine months in captivity, and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart, and these are the Survivor. FRIVER Files. Every week, I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable, abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. These are stories about what it takes to make it out alive.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Listen to The Survivor Files with Elizabeth Smart on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of the DeTrenda 500. Vanadium Silver gave us Daytrenda style. But I think you need that 500 for people to know what you're talking about. I don't know. Not if you know about Hooters'Hour. The Daytona 500. What are we talking about?
Starting point is 00:02:43 How many Hooters' wings I ate yesterday? Yeah, exactly. 500 of them. That's what I'm talking about. My name is Jack O'Brien. That over there is Mr. Miles Gray. We are, we were talking about the Hooters biopic. We need to come up with a name for a brand biopic.
Starting point is 00:03:01 I'm sure there is. Brand opic. Brando pick. Brando pick. A brand, brand, brand, brand, brand bio. Much better than the other type of brando pick. Like that. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:13 Godfather. Jesus Christ or like. Thumbs down. Streetcar name Desire or some shit. Give me a fucking break. Those Daytona wings, though, bro. They called me a homelessness advocate the way I housed those things at Hooters every time. The way I'm housing all these wings.
Starting point is 00:03:32 So stupid. I'm so sorry for that. Also, I did realize, too, that the Daytona style thing was an off-menu thing that then eventually became on-menu. Yeah. So popular. Oh. So you kind of started a thing. Your friend who knew Daytona style.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Yeah. Yeah. Oh, but Daytona style. Whoa. What? What? What? Of Daytona style.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Oh, fuck. That Daytona style guys here again. Doing the side dance. Doing the dance. Yeah. Hey, sexy lady! I'm saying that's... Oh, oh, oh, oh.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Daytona style. Oh, my God. I'm sorry. This is the episode where you tell you what is trending on this Wednesday, September 2nd in the afternoon. A couple things. Just scrolling through Twitter. J.D. Vance was on some manner of podcast.
Starting point is 00:04:30 Yep. being interviewed and he said, I'm just doing God's work right now, or like I'm focused on doing God's work. But if that leads to the end times, okay. Yeah, fine, dude, if that's what God wants, dude, if that's what God wills, man. What do you think God's work is, like, what is your version
Starting point is 00:04:57 of God's work that leads to the death of every human on earth. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, look, if God, I mean, and if I'm doing the Lord's work and it brings the end times, I mean, inshallah, that's what was meant to be. Inshallah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:05:11 Wait, what? You're mixing, you're mixing faiths there? Yeah, this is the clip that he says. And just mind you, he's saying this with his failed book communion just right over his shoulder. He's still fucking selling this stupid ass book, and he's a fucking vice president.
Starting point is 00:05:26 That should be beneath the dignity of, Like most people with another job. Like if a basketball player had a book and he was like going around doing interviews, trying to sell it for seven years. Yeah. And then like three months later, you saw them doing still doing interviews trying to sell this book. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:50 I'd be like, what the fuck is going on, man? Like what, how are, and this is the vice president still trying to move copies of a book. The most unsurious administration. we've ever seen. These are not serious people, Miles. Here he is saying, yeah, look, let's
Starting point is 00:06:06 let's just see what God decides to do. What I'm trying to focus on is doing as much of God's work as possible right now. And if that leads to the end times, okay. Uh-huh. If that leads to the end times, okay.
Starting point is 00:06:19 And if that leads to the end times, okay. Moving forward and moving through. This book is supposed to be about his conversion to Catholicism. Yeah, yeah, exactly. That is the most, Baptist, born again Christian shit that I've ever heard
Starting point is 00:06:34 somebody say is like, and you know if my version of God's work brings about the end times, you know, that's so be it. I mean, that's not how. What's he saying, right? Because
Starting point is 00:06:49 we know that someone who went to Catholic school, the end times is basically the in between when Christ was crucified and what he will return again. Yeah, and so that's not, and that is not your job. That is not. But then I feel like he's mixing that up with like the evangelical like rapture end times too.
Starting point is 00:07:10 I think so, yeah. Because he's not really a Catholic or a person. So he's just kind of fucking vibe coding his understanding of religion. Yeah, people who read the book are like, this has absolutely nothing to do with Catholicism and anyway. Anyways, I feel like we have different concepts of what God's work could be. there. Right. And like what do we mean? Is he going to return? Is there like, are we talking about the Antichrist too? Because do you know that's that's in there? Are you the Antichrist? How do you see? Where do you fit into all of this? J.D.? I'm God's special little boy. Uh, no, J.D. Van,
Starting point is 00:07:49 God's special little boy is the Pope. That's it. God only has one special little boy. It's Bart Simpson. Simpson. And it's Bart Simpson. Okay. We all heard Marge say it. Um, there is, uh, the U.S. military is withholding death benefits from soldiers who died in Operation Epic Freedom or whatever the fuck they called it. It was epic fury, epic fury. Um, because it's not officially a war. So that's just, again, uh, I believe that's part of doing God's work. Um, God. And then, uh, somebody was posted. So Burning Man kicked off, I think at the end of, like a couple days ago. And the last week, beginning of this week. And, and, uh, and, and, uh, somebody was posted. And, And somebody was posting the demographics.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Apparently they keep pretty close tabs on who goes to Burning Man. And the records indicate that it is officially for the olds at this point. The median attendee is in their 40s and the share of people in their 20s is a third of what it was a decade ago. And I think this is in the media, I think, they're like one of people's favorite genre of news story every time burning man comes up is just being like fuck burning man like burning man i think there's just like something deeply like puritanical in the american psyche that like rejects burning man i think that becomes like a cashless society built on like human kindness and art artistic expression yes the the mainstream
Starting point is 00:09:25 media does does not like that they take such great joy in shitting on Burning Man. So that I think partially. Reduce it to some stupid like right wing meme. Like it's like a bunch of blue-haired like dudes wearing dresses. Like riding bikes in the desert. Like steampunk nonsense.
Starting point is 00:09:42 I've never been. One of my favorite episodes of the crack podcast was just interviewing Michael Swam after he came back from Burning Man where he was basically just like doing a memoir of his time at Burning Man. Just like kind of selling me a little bit ongoing. I don't think I'll like. ever go, but I love having it pitched to me.
Starting point is 00:10:02 Right, right, right. Oh, I mean, I remember, like, we have listeners that are big in the Burning Man scene and we're constantly. I've enjoyed every, every one of their stories. I know. And every time they're like, come, man. And I'm like, I got a, fuck. Yes. I mean, like, my dad, I remember when I was a kid went to Burning Man. When I, like, but, like, but, like, way before I could, like, remember it. But he was like, you know, he went to Calards and shit. And he was like, he's like, it's wild or whatever. But I wonder, too, like, if it's, like, It's just the original people who are like in the, like, you know, a lot of people were like, when Diddy went?
Starting point is 00:10:34 Like in 20, I don't remember like, maybe it was 2014 or something. People were like, oh, fuck. Yeah. Like, this is like, it's, this is really cool now. Broken containment now. Now we can go to Burning Man and officially rock the vote. Right.
Starting point is 00:10:48 So maybe Normies, maybe less normies and back to the, the OGs, which I'm sure is fine. Yeah. But again, I have fucking no clue. So I can totally go up. Any movement, any like subculture, eventually.
Starting point is 00:10:59 ages out or, you know, like, people were like, uh, you may have noticed that the latest minions movie didn't do quite as well in America. And you also may have noticed that the gentle minions did not show up at this one. It's like, yeah, they're all in their 20s now. Those people are like, those people are, uh, having children. They're not going to the movie theater to fucking, uh, throw shit at the screen and, and, and wear suits for the first time. Right. Um, but yeah, I, I, I, Also think like they're like they I was looking at drug data of like who is driving like the rise in marijuana consumption.
Starting point is 00:11:38 I've talked about this on a past episode and it's like boomers. It's older people. Yeah. Like I I think it's it might not just be that it's lame old people who want to go. It could be that only old people have the money to go because they're hoarding all of the resources and hoarding all of the jobs and all of the. and all of the power and then, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:02 they're able to take time off and be high all day, every day. Because they're retired. They're retired. They're, the economy's shrinking. It's increasingly hurting,
Starting point is 00:12:14 you know, the sorts of jobs that, like, young people are able to get. And then, like, I think that's where, like, a lot of the,
Starting point is 00:12:21 we talked recently about memes of young people looking back of the 2000s and being like, what, God damn, like this looks like, looks so nice. Yeah, and like, partially it's like, yeah, they, they've, like, we, we've created this phone prison that we all live in now.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Right. But they also just don't have the money or free time to take drugs or, you know, go into the desert and for a week. Yeah. You know? For sure. Not just like not answer emails for a week because they're all in the desert, you know? Yeah. Let alone save up for a big week-long drug.
Starting point is 00:12:58 journey like at the beginning of fear and low thing. They used to be like the all, when I like like, you know, I was working in like laser tag and stuff, you'd be like, yeah, man, fucking grind it out for fucking three months. Yeah. And then I will go to fucking Cabo or something. Yeah. Go to the desert and Joshua tree and just lose my fucking head out there.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Yeah. Um, yeah. Well, I wonder too. I mean like, yeah, people who, people who are, uh, in the scene, let us know. Is it chill now? Is it regressing to like the, like what it used to be or is it
Starting point is 00:13:30 does it feel kind of dead but I mean it seems like the desire for people to go has not diminished right um let's see let's talk about what happened in Orlando yeah yeah this was I had missed this you probably missed it because you
Starting point is 00:13:47 I'm also unfortunately way too online and I knew who this guy King Azuli was this guy Ben Azulei So in Orlando last week, there was a kick boxing match that was like literally like Nazi versus Jew. Okay. And like it was like with all these like weird right wing characters,
Starting point is 00:14:11 clavicular was like I think the judge or some shit happening at the Kia center in Orlando or the magic play. We're the magic play. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. This is what they're doing in between magic seasons. So I'm just saying like in a time where like there's people like you know the media pundits and journalists like wringing their hands over celebrities criticizing Israel and like launching bad faith accusations of anti-Semitism. I think it's really important to point out when the country is fully just letting Nazis do their thing in open spaces. So Israeli American Manosphere loser King Azule, Ben Azule fought a literal Nazi with SS tattoos like just out there when he was straight up Nazi. Straight up.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Not disguised. No, no, no, no. He wasn't like, I don't know, I like lightning bolts or something like that. No, no. And he goes by like gypsy crusader is his name. Jesus. Fucking wild. So this is like the headlining fight and he's like a total, like there's no ambiguity
Starting point is 00:15:11 about his like white supremacist like Nazi views. They go on like he's described in this article. His name is Paul Miller. Miller, whose personal brand online centers on Joaquin Phoenix's Joker movies achieved some notoriety during the first Trump administration as a sort of Nick Fuentes associate, but his rise was cut short after his sentence to federal
Starting point is 00:15:31 prison on gun charges. I don't think you remember that guy, maybe? I don't know. It could be anyone, Jack. Could be anyone. I remember like 20 guys like that. So this guy, Azule, lost his fight, and his opponent had some real
Starting point is 00:15:44 choice slurs to say at the end. There were people in the crowds full on Sieg-heiling a Nazi flag that one other guy just unfurled in there. And also, Azule is no innocent man either. This guy has charges dealing with child sexual assault in his past. And he brands himself as like this Zionist warrior. Like he was doing like promos like on a throne with a star of David on it. Like they were just like leaning into the opt.
Starting point is 00:16:08 Like it was, it's fucking just shameful all around. So anyway, this is where the fucking magic play. And this was like an event that was fully embraced by corporations that sponsored hosted or sold the tickets to this via ticket master. Right. This is like backyard. Like I would assume this would be like backyard wrestling style event. Like not not something that is being sold via ticket master.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Yeah. Or like an old distressed mall that had some space that they could let like this weird freak Nazi kickboxing match happen. So anyway, these people platform these maniacs. And like while there are many organizations calling out how diabolical this event was the people that fucking matter don't really have anything to say that would make you think this would never happen again. This is what the mayor of Orlando said. Quote, symbols of hate, including the Nazi flag, were brought to Kia Center this weekend.
Starting point is 00:17:01 But hate will never be welcome here. Our community will continue to stand against anti-Semitism and all forms of hate to ensure that Orlando is a place where every person is valued and respected. Oh. Okay. Brave. The venue's response. The premise of the fight was... It was clear the way they were... Zionist.
Starting point is 00:17:19 What these two things were representing. And then when they actually started taking their shirts off and you're like, this guy's got fuck. Okay. Sure. This is what the Orlando Venues organization said like that runs the Kia Center. Quote, Orlando Venues and the city of Orlando unequivocally condemn all forms of hate speech, discrimination, anti-Semitism, racism, and any message that encourages hatred or violence
Starting point is 00:17:39 against any person or group. We understand that many people in the Orlando community feel hurt, angry, and concerned about the recent dual arena event. To be clear, those views belong solely to the individuals who express them. They do not reflect the values of Orlando venues, the city of Orlando, or any of the staff that work tirelessly to provide a safe and welcoming environment. As operators of public venues, the city is bound by the First Amendment. This means we cannot deny access because we disagree with the political ideology, opinion,
Starting point is 00:18:08 or perspective, regardless of the message. However, that legal reality does not soften our condemnation of what occurred. We hear the community's concern. we take it seriously. That is not true. You are not, you are not the government. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:24 You, right? Like, this is not a governmental organization, is it? So Orlando venues is, like, the city of Orlando, like owns and operates or just does one of the two of like these sort of venues. Sure. So that includes, like, camping world stadium
Starting point is 00:18:39 and things like that. However, you still, using this, like, very stupid constitutional argument, because I'm sure you've denied. It's not like every person who pulls up with a bag of money can just have a fucking event at the Kia Center. Right. You know what I mean? Unless, you know, you're open to it. I mean, I think, you know, when you look at that statement, it shouldn't be surprising because, you know, the people who built the Kia Center is former
Starting point is 00:19:04 education secretary Betsy DeVos and her husband who, when he used to be the Amway Center. And, you know, she's got that cool brother, Eric Prince, that started the mercenary group Blackwater. Yeah, this is who America is. This is not, yeah, this is what's at the root of a lot of the corporate what I think hierarchy. Because it's interesting to say that like I'm sure there are times when I'm sure a municipality has denied a pro-Palestinian group the opportunity to do something.
Starting point is 00:19:29 But then can be like, well, on First Amendment grounds, like the Nazi thing is fine. I guess maybe because it wasn't overtly branded as a Nazi thing. That's sort of what they're hiding behind. But I think the response should be more like, dude, like heads are going to roll because this shit happened.
Starting point is 00:19:47 And nobody fucking. took the time to know what that was. This is just how we have to operate. So, you know, like right now you have actors like Mark Ruffalo just getting dragged and having their careers torch because they rightly describe genocidal acts from the Israeli government, yet there's barely any smoke for literal Nazis at a full-on pay-per-view event. And I'm like, that's where, this is why this, like, the people who just in, like, in bad faith, make these accusations of anti-Semitism, they ring hollow because when you're actually,
Starting point is 00:20:17 you decide if you're picking and choosing who gets painted with the anti-Semite brush it leaves room for these fucking maniacs to just do their thing and not have the same smoke for them. So yeah, it's wild. It's out of our hands, guys.
Starting point is 00:20:34 There's none that we can do, but make money off of this. But like, yeah, and like, and like, and then like, like, are Nazis bad? Because then there's this recent post that Israeli minister, Idemar Ben-Gavir posted that was like this AI video of Palestinian prisoners in like prison uniforms on a conveyor belt going through this like machine where they get thinner and distressed after passing through this like industrial like meat processor.
Starting point is 00:21:02 It's fuck. It's like everyone's like what is this concentration camp? Right. Like slop your posting. And then that was taken down. But again, these are like this is this is what happens when, you know, people are trying to constantly stifle voices that are being critical of the Israeli government while just completely giving a pass to the people, like, posting, like, yeah, I'm, like,
Starting point is 00:21:28 you know, Ben Gavir has said, like, publicly, he's like, that the, the, the, uh, conditions for, like, Palestinian prisoners be reduced to, quote, the minimum required by law. Like, in terms of, like, what, what's the least we can give them without violating the law? And even then, everything you hear about these prisons is they're going fucking well. It's full on illegal. Yeah. Immoral fucking criminal shit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:55 Don't try saying that at the Kia Center. Don't say that at the Kia Center. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But you can be gypsy crusader fighting King Azulet. And, I mean, like, it was like this, there's like this whole group of kids who just started fucking doing the Heil Hitler shit while some like older boomer. I mean, and what's a wild was like, like, One security guard, this woman at the Kia Center,
Starting point is 00:22:16 just like snatched the flag and the Nazi flag guy who had the flag guy was like, oh, come on. Hey, what the? I paid for that. Jesus. All right. Let's take a quick break. We'll be right back.
Starting point is 00:22:33 There's no shortcut for saving time. But saving money is simple. Just combine your car and home insurance with Bel Air Direct and save. Get a quote at bellair direct.com. When I was 14 years old, I was kidnapped and held captive for nine months. I survived and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart and these are the survivor files. I just remember this low, taunting voice next to my ear saying shut up, don't say anything. Every week, I'm with
Starting point is 00:23:11 survivors who live through the unthinkable. I knew if he woke up, without a doubt, he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. But these aren't stories about what's taken from them. There's stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the Survivor Files with Elizabeth Smart on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If your bookshelf and your For You page are equally important to your personality, welcome home. This is Prose Society, the weekly podcast that's part book club, part group chat for thought
Starting point is 00:23:57 daughters, pop culture obsessives, and anyone who thinks Pride and Prejudice and Love Island deserve the same level of discourse. I'm Eli Rallo, and every week we're connecting the dots between books, the internet, and the conversations everyone can't stop having. I'm going to have to look up this story. I'm obsessed. I'm obsessed. From bestselling authors and your favorite book talk creators to the latest
Starting point is 00:24:18 pop culture moments, nothing is off the table. It's like if you can hide some real messages inside compelling characters, then that is the Trojan horse. Whether you're looking for literary deep dives, smart pop culture conversations, or a community of readers who love to think a little too much, you're in the right place. Listen to pro society on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. See you between the pages. Hey, this is Hayes, Davenport. And Sean Clements. We host the podcast Hollywood Handbook on the Big Money Players Network. Our show is extremely accessible to first time listeners.
Starting point is 00:24:55 Each week, we talk to someone in show business, aka the biz, and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. Everyone has a good time and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman. Can you help me shape this? How about we flip it on his head, right? How about we flip this around? Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:17 What is the surprise woman? Actually, you think is the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird. Adam Scott, this entire time you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show. I would never expect. I would never set expectations for something like that to happen. If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I'm open to it. I'm always going to accept. You know, Danny McBride.
Starting point is 00:25:47 fine. Yeah. It's all this fragile masculinity. Exuding. I could smell it walking down the hallway, to be honest with you. I was like, is that weed? Nope. It's fragile masculinity. Ben Stiller, no. Because a lot of times out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is. You know what I mean? Like, you're like, oh, what's a state. Everyone's so dumb. And fake. Right. Fake and also not interested.
Starting point is 00:26:14 or just like, oh, I've got my life, I don't care about your life. And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his I chose option B.
Starting point is 00:26:46 I'm Julie Pinheiro, and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people, and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is, and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your
Starting point is 00:27:24 first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. We're back. And so Katie Miller's podcast continues to be kind of yeah you you put it a humiliation ritual for yeah there's always someone saying something that people are going what the fuck are you talking about why are you saying that at last intentional humiliation ritual kind of yeah i think it's like they think they're in a safe space so then they like they just kind of start talking at this point this moment was just funny because her latest victims on the podcast are none other than transportation secretary sean doofe and his fellow MTV spouse fox news host lover Rachel Campos,
Starting point is 00:28:16 Dofe, and it's just like, I'm just going to play this clip because Katie Miller is just kind of asking like, oh, what was it like, you know, like, becoming part of the cabinet. And like Rachel Campos is kind of just like, I don't know, man, it's like the only job that was left.
Starting point is 00:28:31 And then he starts doing an interesting Trump impression. It's all very sad. But these are the Duffy's recalling what it was like to get the call from Mr. getting called up to the majors. When the president asked you to serve Secretary of Transportation, what was the conversation like between the two of you? Were you right on board? Were you pushing him to say, let's do this?
Starting point is 00:28:51 No, I think Sean answered that. He said he wanted to, he wanted to serve the president in any way. He ended up in transportation because that means that was all up. I believe this with him. He said, Here's the impression. I would pick the Department of Transportation of any department in the Department. The Department. I'm going to give it to you because he's a builder. And he, whether it's roads and bridges, like he's, he's talking about concrete and bridges and designs and colors.
Starting point is 00:29:20 Wow, you idiot. We have a president who cares about the infrastructure of America. Usually president's time. False. Darn. He did say, don't F it up. Don't F it up. Is there ever a time?
Starting point is 00:29:35 Yeah, yeah. More on that later, Sean. Remember he said, don't fuck it up to you? It was the only job that was left. And I like how she was just like, well, his only job that was left, and he has to immediately start qualifying it a little bit. He's like, well, yeah, it's actually the best one. She was really like, yeah, well, you know, I think Sean said he'd do anything.
Starting point is 00:29:55 Yeah. And the president took him up on that and gave him this shit position. Yeah. And Sebastian Gorka already had jizmopper. So there was this thing that he could do. This bullshit. Yeah, it's just so funny. It's like, and you can see in his mind where he's like, look, I'll do any.
Starting point is 00:30:11 anything to lick the boots, sir. That then he was like, but it's okay. It was the last thing. But then also the president was like, he told me this is like the best one I could have too. Because he likes buildings and roads are technically being built by concrete. So, and so are bridges. You know who else is passionate about transportation miles?
Starting point is 00:30:30 Tiger Woods. Jesus Christ. Guys should have had a fucking driver three decades ago. Yeah. as any like multi-multi-millionaire celebrity does. Yeah. The man cannot stop getting into car accidents. Right.
Starting point is 00:30:51 Under the influence. Cannot stop getting DUIs. Yeah. At a certain point, don't they have like, do some states have like prison sent? Not that he needs it, but like, isn't there, don't someplace be like, bro, if you get five deuses, you're never going to have a license again. Oh, yeah. Well, so he just took a plea deal.
Starting point is 00:31:10 So this is, yes, what you're describing is what happens to people who don't have a ton of money to pay the finest lawyers to get them out of trouble. But even in his case, so he took a plea deal in his DUI case, his latest DUI case. And the DUI charge was reduced to a reckless driving charge second offense. And the charge related to his refusal to submit to a lawful urinalysis test was also reduced. So he avoids jail time completely Has to pay a $1,500 fine And where's he going to come up with that? But this is kind of a big one for him
Starting point is 00:31:48 Has to agree to have his license suspended for five years. Oh five years. Like that's This guy loves driving. Guy loves driving, dude. I wonder if he's going to, he hires a guy who looks like him to also be his driver.
Starting point is 00:32:06 So then he'd be like, no, that picture, no, that's my driver. That's not me. The prosecutor did come out and say, of all the people, like after the ruling, state attorney Thomas Beckadol addressed reporters after the hearing. Of all the people in the world who should not get behind the wheel of the car, it's the gentleman who's one of the most recognizable faces on the planet. Somebody will see him, whether it's in Georgia or Nevada or New York or where have you. he's not to drive a car.
Starting point is 00:32:39 So he's like also just being like, A man, and also you're too famous. Like I'm sure many problematic, you know, addicts who like keep getting deuses are just like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:32:51 and then I keep driving. I just stopped driving drunk quite as much or go to a different state. And he's like, so actually that's not going to work out for you. I like it is to like put the country on notice. Guys, guys,
Starting point is 00:33:04 guys, if you see him fucking anywhere, Right. In a car driving. Yes. This is your job now. Stop him. Stop him.
Starting point is 00:33:14 The prosecutor also was asked if the deal allows Woods to get behind the wheel of a golf cart during the suspension. And he was like, yeah, you know, I'm actually not sure about that. Guess who's going to have a catastrophic golf cart crash? Oh, my God. His golf cart. He gets his golf cart. So it's going like 50 miles per hour. He just, they even have like a governance chip on it.
Starting point is 00:33:35 It's like this thing only goes 15. he somehow flips the thing fucking 14 times it's just fucking terrifying too like you I hope this does stop him from driving you know what I mean like you'd hope he would be like fuck man like
Starting point is 00:33:50 I could have lost my life multiple times and killed other people but this was the latest it was only the latest like hey there was another one that like you know compound fractures and shit right in the middle of his career
Starting point is 00:34:05 So you would hope so, but as they say in recovery, it takes what it takes, I guess. Right. All right. New York City schools. Brian, Brian just came back and said, wait, I stepped away. Did Tiger flip his shit again? No, he just pled down his last doing. So he, but he lost his license for five years, which is hell on earth to him.
Starting point is 00:34:32 Like we're recapping it for Brian. Anyways. Well, also, maybe people stepped away from their podcast for a moment. Let's see, New York City schools continue to be on a run of New York City kind of on a heater. Yeah. Ever since the NBA playoffs started. They reportedly are going to ban student-facing artificial intelligence for students in kindergarten through eighth grade, which seems common sense to me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:04 The use of AI for high school students will be restricted. They'll be able to use AI for literacy, career, and certification programs, and five pilot programs in some schools. But it sounds like it's specifically designed to use it in a responsible way as opposed to just carte blanche. Hey, I don't know. Yeah. I mean, great. I think, you know, most people talk all the time about like what this. how the introduction of technology
Starting point is 00:35:36 always leads to kids having less skills somehow. And yeah, like in this era of AI and like just seeing the state of like how many kids like, I felt like in this last sort of graduation season, we were seeing so many videos of kids like proudly sort of talking about how like Chad GPT got them through college.
Starting point is 00:35:56 Yeah. And when you begin to lose skills like that, like we always say like this skill to bullshit your way through a paper or something just without. chat GPT. That is life. That's life. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:09 But I don't know. I think it's good. I certainly don't want. I think we need to protect the youngs for sure. Yeah. My kids are only allowed to use chat GPT three hours a day. And that's only to ask questions about World War II, right? All right.
Starting point is 00:36:27 You get your three hour chat GPT time. All right, let it rip. Ask it about Hitler. Yeah, well, it's been trained on the internet. So it's going to, it's going to be pretty smart and answer things in a responsible way. Yeah. Those are some of the things that are trending on this Wednesday, September 2nd. We are back tomorrow with a whole last episode of the show.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourself. Get your vaccines while you still can. Get your flu shots. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we will talk to you all tomorrow. Bye. Peace.
