In California,
during the summer of 1975,
within the span of 17 days and less than 90 miles,
two women did something
no other woman had done before.
Tried to assassinate
the President of the United States.
One was the protege of Charles Manson.
26-year-old Lynette Fromm,
nicknamed Squeaky.
The other, a middle-aged housewife

Oh, hello, the internet, and welcome to this edition of Dirty Dancing Havana Zights. I just thought of that right now.
It was genius. Was it thought of that right now.
It was genius.
Was it good?
It was good.
Okay, good.
I'm Miles.
I'm joined by guest host, Jakeese Neal.
Hello, Jakeese. Hello, everyone.
How are you?
I'm fantastic.
Okay.
Well, let's just see what is trending right now across the internet.
We got all kinds of things.
This is a very interesting day of trends today.
The first one is Russ, as in russell westbrook as in russell westbrook is a los angeles laker
now am i going to be one of these shitty laker fans and complain that we signed russell westbrook
yes maybe i will let's hear but also i mean look did we want buddy you know what i mean from the
sacramento kings yes maybe we did but i also I also think it's just going to be amazing.
At the end of the day, I'm excited.
I just love looking that we have AD, LeBron, and Russell Westbrook.
It just looks ridiculous.
It's really insane.
Let me tell you, man.
I will go ahead and admit that I'm a Laker hater, okay?
Yeah, yeah.
I'm a Laker hater.
I don't like the purple and gold.
Not right now.
You're consistent with it.
I'm consistent with it. And it's not even that I hate the players and things. I'm't like the purple and gold. Not right now. You're consistent with it. I'm consistent with it and it's not even
that I hate the players and things.
I'm a fan of LeBron.
I don't really care too much about AD enough
to hate him or like him.
He's a great player. Love Russ.
Love Russ, Russell Westbrook.
It's just like
I personally as an NBA
fan, and this is from somebody who grew up
watching my team win six championships in eight years.
Right.
So I get a dynasty.
I get it.
The right way.
The right way.
Not even that.
But I'm just like, it was so nice to see a team and players that hadn't won anything like competing for a championship.
And now, especially because we know the Warriors coming back, Brooklyn be back and now the Lakers are just like
oh the NBA is predictable again yeah exactly that is what the NBA suffers from the most is
predictability and yeah but you know if Russ can get himself a ring uh so be it I won't be upset
about that hey local guy coming home you know you love to see it there was an interesting article that was in espn that was revealing like how the 2019 kawaii move like kind of influenced this because
russ had essentially said like hey like i could i might leave oklahoma if you want to play together
because i would love to come back to la and he said oh okay but kawaii leonard then calls paul
george and he's like man fuck all that i'd play with you, so this is what we're going to do.
And that's how that move went down.
And then Russell was like, okay.
And then he proceeded to go to a few different teams
and is now back on the Lakers.
Or not back on the Lakers, but he's now finally in his hometown
where his family is and their grandparents to his kids.
I get it.
But it'll be an interesting season.
I mean, and the moves are not finished so the nba i tell you this i tell you this and listen like i said i like lebron i do like him space jam 2 was fun very fun movie i'm not
a lebron hater at all lebron don't get another ring with this team oh yeah it's bad it's
lebron and not even his legacy is lebron legacy is secure yeah but this is this is but lebron fans
you can't be mad if we come for this nigga's neck no like if he don't i mean it's obscene
it's obscene you add russell west i mean again if now if there's injuries and things like that
which i think is obviously the logic here is saying that like if one of them goes down at
least we can offset the playmaking capability by putting in a dynamic elite point guard in there
and that's what he gives but yeah i would that's i think that's the other reason why i'm a little
bit like because i'm like not that it's the same as when gary payton and carl malone came but like
i'm like you know we we had a good team.
I feel like there's other younger people we could put into this.
And it'll still work.
But yeah, the pressure is certainly much higher to deliver with this trio of players.
And, you know, I don't always like pressure.
And next trending topic, Lindsey Graham.
Senator Lindsey Graham has tested positive for covid but he's
vaccinated so he just feels like right now he's he'll be okay i the one thing he did say quote i
am very glad i was vaccinated because without vaccination i am certain i would not feel as
well as i do now my symptoms would be far worse that is the least you could say sir um but yeah please it makes me aggressively promote it more
it makes me so mad that trump got coveted lindsey graham got coveted all these people got rudy
giuliani got coveted you know they all got the vaccine too trump got the vaccine the second it
was available so did graham and all these people even though they won't admit it uh he did i
remember i think he posted a picture when he got it lindsey graham did yes lindsey graham did trump
i met trump on admit it like oh yeah yeah that even though he got it immediately and it's been
announced or it's been like said that he got it it just makes me mad that like they know the right
thing they know the right thing they They know the right thing. They know they should be pressing their constituents,
the people that support them to get this vaccine.
But because it would make, in their minds,
the left look good to admit that, yeah, this shit is bad
and you should do this to try to make it stop.
They won't do that.
And, you know, listen,
if there's one thing people can say about jackie's
a neil said jackie say neil don't wish ill will on nobody but if the grim reaper want to come
knock on the door not open it just knock and be like i'm out here yeah yeah like you can see
you're saying uh like an ebenezer scrooge type event
yeah let's do some three goals you have a trip you got it you yeah you're tripping on more
on your mortality for a second yeah we gotta make you we gotta really drive this point home
that you done fucked up in your life right uh if that happened then you know what i'm saying i
wouldn't i wouldn't smile but i also wouldn't frown right right right yeah i mean look it's
that's the that's the tricky part of the the time we're in where you have people who are so like
morally bankrupt that they're just gonna go say things that put people's lives at risk and you're
like how does the universe not allow this to happen like isn't what happened to karma can i
speak to karma's manager please i know because you're fucking are you tripping and next up uh da baby is trending now i don't know how many people have
kept up with this saga or know much about the baby uh but oh during rolling loud in miami a couple
weeks ago he has some really really terrible things to say about HIV AIDS and just in general, the LGBTQ community.
And people were like, what the fuck was this? Why is he saying this in a fuck? Why is he screaming
this out in his concert? Like, what is the point of this? A lot of people were rightfully offended
and he ended up losing his set at Lollapalooza. And what was the other one?
Some other concert too,
where they were just like,
you know what?
This is a terrible, terrible,
like we can't plan for this at all.
He goes on to now apologize
in a very, very polished media statement
that clearly reads like a crisis PR team
or the label was like,
we can't have this meltdown because of
this person's hateful words. And just sort of goes on to say, social media moves so fast that people
want to demolish you before you even have the opportunity to grow, educate and learn from your
mistakes. Now, I agree. I think people do. Obviously, everyone has needs the opportunity to
grow, educate themselves and learn. But it seemed like he doubled down a few
times on his way to finally getting to this point and then he just goes on to say like i truly
apologize love to all god bless i think it's ringing a bit hollow but um we shall see what
happens there it's not so much social media moves fast which listen like i agree that there are some on the social media sites that aren't interested in people growing before they can get off their 240 characters to try to get a few likes.
Right. With that said, social media moved too fast before you had an opportunity to grow.
Say was real. The bag loses too fast before a brother can grow and learn and shit.
You ain't, you ain't apologize because social media was devouring you.
You apologize because you losing your bag, homie.
And I would respect you more if you just said, damn, you know,
when you lose money and make you go ahead and search within.
And I've searched within and i see the error of my way
right like tell the truth bro like tell the truth i i personally i think it would go a lot further
if you just told the truth like yo yeah i know people were saying it but i'm starting to feel
the consequences of what my actions it forced me to go ahead and take a look at what i said
and i apologize and i'm gonna try to learn from that yeah you say that and then stop writing
letters but y'all because i remember entertainers quest in front of a camera quest love even i
remember other people like hey it doesn't have to be like this is like i don't even know who that is
like okay but you know what that's just how celebrities are moving yeah and i guess you
know that's the that's like the pr environments we're in today because then like yeah these are
people these are all we're all we're all people despite the follower counts and the the gleaming diamonds that we might wear
but being honest with yourself and being you know the one thing the best skill you can have
is knowing that you don't know a lot or everything because if you have that in your mind then it's
easy to be like oh i didn't know that okay let me pivot off that rather than being locked in
your ego and being like no the thing is you don't know anything about shit.
Okay.
All right, let's take a break, pay some bills.
We'll be right back.
This summer, the nation watched as the Republican nominee for president
was the target of two assassination attempts separated by two months.
These events were mirrored nearly 50 years ago was the target of two assassination attempts, separated by two months.
These events were mirrored nearly 50 years ago,
when President Gerald Ford faced two attempts on his life
in less than three weeks.
President Gerald R. Ford came stunningly close
to being the victim of an assassin today.
And these are the only two times we know of
that a woman has tried to assassinate a U.S. president.
One was the protege of infamous cult
leader Charles Manson. I always felt like Lynette was kind of his right-hand woman. The other,
a middle-aged housewife working undercover for the FBI in a violent revolutionary underground.
Identified by police as Sarah Jean Moore. The story of one strange and violent summer.

Daphne Caruana Galizia was a Maltese investigative journalist

There are crooks everywhere you look now. The situation is desperate.
My name is Manuel Delia. I am one of the hosts of Crooks Everywhere, a podcast that unhurts the

that were turning her beloved country into a mafia state.
And she paid the ultimate price.

Absolutely not.
What was that?
You didn't figure it out?
I think I need to hear you say it.
That was live audio of a woman's nightmare.
This machine is approved and everything?
You're allowed to be doing this?
We passed the review board a year ago.

and we're back rick flair is trending and i said oh god yeah why is the nature boy trending what is happening and what's going on he's he's getting released he rick flair has asked for his release from the WWE,
and he has been granted that release.
Ric Flair has been off of WWE TV for a few months now.
What do you mean?
Like, was he a commentator or something?
No, he's been involved in storylines,
mostly involved with his daughter,
who is one of the top wrestlers in WWE right now,
Charlotte Flair.
Oh, so she's keeping the Flair name alive in WWE right now. Oh, what's his daughter?
Oh, so she's keeping the Flair name alive.
Okay, cool.
Yeah, and she's great.
She's considered the top dog in the women's division or one of the top dogs in the women's division.
And his last storyline was months ago.
I'm talking like February, March.
And it was him managing another woman who he was also boinking.
And the woman was trying to, was not a fan of Charlotte Flair.
So they were in a rivalry and Ric Flair was against his daughter, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Right.
The woman got pregnant in real life, so she had to be pulled off the TV.
So when she got pulled off, Ric Flair got pulled off.
He hasn't been on since.
He asked for his release.
Got it.
WWE is on one, man.
They've been releasing a lot of big names.
They released Bray Wyatt recently.
They've released a lot of really, really great athletes and wrestlers
who they didn't really properly use.
And then you throw on top of that, AEW is also about to lure in,
apparently, Daniel Bryan and CM Punk,
who are two of the biggest names in
wrestling still to this day i know him from the challenge stars versus pros yeah uh yeah cm punk
chicago chicago cat love me some cm punk uh yeah wwe struggling right now but you know what i'm
saying i'll be in vegas for summer slam next month or this month actually so if you there
and we want to watch me watch wwe hit a
brother up are you you're going to be in the building you're there for summer slam i'm going
to be in the building you know there with delta and all the shit so uh i'm i'm a little worried
i'm a little apprehensive but you know you know who's not worried wwe they not shit will roll the
right the fuck on they don't worry they'll have the roof open they'll have the roof open so you know some fresh air can circulate oh wait where is it at
is it where the raiders play stadium is that where the raiders play that's where the raiders play
wait allegiant like the airline i guess i don't know what they're uh i don't know who they're
named i don't know who none of these damn stadiums be named after yeah i know that's
i remember when it just used to be it should just be called one fucking thing.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Like the United Center or, you know.
Well, see, that tracks because Chicago isn't,
is United based?
I mean, I know O'Hare is like the biggest hub for United.
So that's like a lock.
You know what I mean?
Staples Center should just be like OG Kush Center.
Like it's synonymous.
We get it.
The Oracle, I get get that too because that's
you know silicon valley and all that all that stuff um but allegiance stadium i'm like what
is it is it the airline because that i didn't know they were doing that well but i'm sure it's for
something else what else is trending oh here's something lovers and friends jakeese have you
seen this lineup do you know about the lovers and friends festival in las vegas not only do i know
about the lovers and friends festival i tried to get tickets you seen this lineup? Do you know about the Lovers and Friends Festival in Las Vegas? Not only do I know about the Lovers and Friends Festival,
I tried to get tickets to that bitch today.
And it didn't work.
It was a pre-sale. I had the
code and
goodies. Since I couldn't get tickets,
if they still running it, everybody, the code
is goodies.
I mean, yeah.
And I tried to get in and
they had a standby line and it took me an hour just
to even get into the pre-sale it was like a general admission all tickets sold out if you
don't know what lovers and friends is just allow me to read this lineup too because it is like the
greatest thing for for essentially geriatric millennials this there is no lineup and if you were fucking with hip-hop and
r&b in the early aughts in late 90s you are fucking up if you don't go to this show yeah i'm
just going to read every this is this is happening may 14th 2022 in vegas here we go it's lauren hill
usher ludicrous lil john tlc sierra ashanti Ja Rule, Trey Songz, Monica, Timbaland, Akon, T-Pain, Lil Kim, Sean Paul, Fabulous, Eve, The Dream, Genuine, Xscape, Jodeci, Keith Sweat, Mace, Fat Joe, Cassie, Twista, Maya, Camron, SWV, Sean Kingston, Trick Daddy, Pretty Ricky, Joe, Drew Hill, Next, 112, Mario, Donnell Jones, Foxy Brown, Trina, Tweet.

Okay.

Kevin Little, Baby Bash, Frankie J, and uh-oh, Nina Sky.
Damn. Damn.
Damn.
And you know what else is going to be there?
A lot of baby making, baby.
Oh, yeah, that too.
You people are going to be fucking.
I'm going to bring my old two-way pager out,
and I'm going to dress like a time traveler.
No.
I mean, I'll figure it out.
Look, I'll figure it out.
I'll figure it out.
I tried to get the VIPs today, and them boys sold out quickly. I'm going to try to figure it out. I'm going the vips today and you know them boys sold out quickly
i'm gonna try to figure it out i'm gonna be there next year i'm gonna try i won't try to get there
next year too miles if you find a way you let me know oh yeah i mean look well if we gotta hop the
fence lollapalooza style we're gonna do that because this uh rock aware of a lure suit i'm
aware and with a nike with a jordan headband, and my white-on-white Air Forces.
I don't even know what I would wear.
I might bring back some South Pole on your ass.
I might bring back some South Pole.
Wow.
I might bring back some Fat Farm.
Exactly.
Oh, I'm going to have a whole,
maybe I'll just bring it back old school,
have the red Echo hoodie with the rhino on the front.
Yes.
I might pull out the two-way exactly or or my
sidekick or put on a throwback jersey with the matching pinwheel fitted hat with the extra 3x
tall t white t underneath and a fake chain on top i'm not fucking around y'all i will do this
don't don't don't don't be surprised if you see me stepping in my air force ones now
oh all whites oh jiky's where you getting them
colors are you dying them um remember that scene and she's just looking at me like i'm shooting
free throws oh shit so um for all people if i know it seems like i just read off a playlist
that some of us have like on our Spotify and things like that.
This is a real show.
Now, I don't know if Lauren Hill will be there on time.
You know, if you've ever seen Lauren Hill on to perform, it can be, it's like Wu-Tang.
You don't know when she's going to come out and you don't know when the settle end, but
she might be there.
But it's always worth it because she's a fantastic talent.
And then last but not least, Simone Biles is trending because she is competing today
in the Olympics or tomorrow.
She said that she is going to be in the balance beam final.
She's just been in the lab or the gym, as it were, just working on getting out her the
twisties, as she calls it, that, you know, that sense where she wasn't fully secure or
even had the proper orientation when she was doing a lot of her flips and twists and things
like that and didn't want to injure herself.
I guess she feels comfortable enough to do balance beam.
So let's see what happens.
I know in Rio,
she got bronze.
So I don't know what that means if she's a favorite now,
but you know,
it's good to see her.
I hope she get that gold,
but I am also happy for her.
Yeah.
That she feels comfortable enough.
Hopefully comfortable.
It's for real and i hope
i hope she's not feeling the pressure to come out clearly i don't imagine she would because
she had the wherewithal to take herself out of the events that she was actually you know strongly
the favorite for so yeah we shall see but and it seems so wild to me i know you probably you guys
have probably talked about simone but it seems so wild to me that outside of the talk about black women's mental health
and athletes' mental health and people not caring about that,
why would you want a gymnast to go do that shit when she doesn't feel confident in doing it?
Like, I'm not trying to see nobody die.
Well, you know why?
Because people have all these weird, you know, memories.
Like, well, you know, Michael Jordan had the the flu and he still played come on bro you ain't michael jordan with
the flu ain't gonna slip and break his fucking neck if he shoots right three-pointer like that
does like those don't even track man i know and that's don't even track that's the mentality that
i i see people applying especially from conservative uh white
men on the internet who are like giving up on your country it's like does she have a lot of data where
she feels supported by this country i don't know so but again that's the funny thing about sports
and like you know the labor of like black athletes is like you know that's like the one time like hey
well as long as as long as you're bringing home the gold for the u.s we'd love to see it but the second you start advocating for yourself like so what
excuse you do you know what country you are you are competing for but yeah simone good luck to you
um i know you love the show from what i've heard or what i i think i had a dream where i met you
and you said you're a big fan and it and i wished you luck and you won the gold so let's hope that
that happens jakees thank you so much for joining big fan and I wished you luck and you won the gold. So let's hope that that happens.
Jaquese, thank you so much for joining me
for this trending episode.
Why don't we do this whole thing again?
Maybe in the morning.
Let's do it.
I'm down.
I'll wake up.
What time?
Yeah, well, look, we'll figure that out.
They don't even know about that.
How about this morning earlier?
But all that to say,
thank you so much for joining me.
Thank you so much for listening.
For everybody out there, please wear a mask.
Please be safe out there.
Please get vaccinated if you haven't already.
And, you know, just please take care of each other.
And also, don't do nothing about white supremacy.
If you see something, say something.
Don't be somebody who's a bystander in the face of hatred.
All right.
Take care.
We'll see you soon.
