Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello the internet and welcome to this episode of Elon Musk's trend boy army That one courtesy of vanadium silver on the discord in reference to the fuckboy army as Miles gray has termed it. My name is Jack O'Brien. That of course is miles Seven fuckboy army couldn't hold me back A seven fuck boy army couldn't hold me back. Yeah. Well the fuck boy army, they continue to, they continue to make progress. Yeah. Yeah. Yep.
Starting point is 00:00:31 And we're going to get into it, but first miles, we have an important update to our Google AI Superbowl ad commercial story that we're calling Real Eyes, Realize, AIsIs Cheese Lies. Yeah. We said right off the bat when we heard about this Google AI ad that was claiming. I guess it got fixed by the time it hit the Super Bowl, but it was up all week. It was an advertisement for a cheese farmer who's like, I can't write for shit,
Starting point is 00:01:06 man. I like literate. I'm basically a literate. I'm fucking stupid, but I'm trying to build a business online. And so I got to, you know, use Google AI to write some facts to market my cheese. 90% of my business is online now. And so and then on screen we see. Him just use Google AI to search Gouda, the cheese that he's selling. And the fact that he comes across is that Gouda comprises 50 to 60 percent of global cheese consumption. This cheese farmer is willing to believe that Gouda comprises 50 to 60% of global
Starting point is 00:01:52 cheese consumption, a cheese that you can't put on pizza. Yeah. You can't put on pot. Like it's not, it's not a, not a versatile cheese. It's one of my favorite cheeses. I love Buddha. This is my thing. This might be our new 6.8 weeks. This is but it's just so transparent. It's like you don't even think about it. It's so dumb.
Starting point is 00:02:18 You're like no. That's like being like 60% of the world of America's music consumption is actually people spending time listening to the village people Like no, what no, no, that can't be true, but it's just such a good example It's such a good example of like why AI sucks like proof that corporations have already Just handed over all thinking to AI and then like, let the AI write the Super Bowl commercial. It's and we won't even fact check it like we won't even read what it's writing onto the screen in our Super Bowl commercial. We won't even read it. So people pointed out that's obviously not true.
Starting point is 00:02:58 What you you got fooled by your own AIs, quote unquote, hallucinations, a cage is like shit they made up, like the fundamental flaw of this supposed research tool and they were like no you got full because it's it's on like multiple websites oh okay so people went and looked it's on one website that they found cheese.com which is just like an SEO rip. Oh my god. It's just like somebody who bought that is sitting on the cheese.com. Hoping. Uh, URL. That fucking stupid motherfucker who's like, ah man, I got cheese.com though. The second cheese needs a website.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Uh huh. Uh huh. Yeah. You didn't get Nike.com asshat. That's right. And they're killing it. Um, so yeah, but Google was like, it's, it's, you're wrong. We found this and we know it's true because it's on the internet, but they did of course, change, change it.
Starting point is 00:04:01 So obviously they realized it was wrong. Yeah. Obviously they completely undermined the core promise and highlighted the core failure of this technology that is supposed to save humanity and change everything. It has like, are you encountering people being like, AI is going to change everything into the future, like in your day to day life? No, I know more people who like are outsourcing stuff to A.I. like to just like for their own interactions or something like
Starting point is 00:04:30 I had to write something to my mom. I just I just use it. So I was like, wow, that's so fucked up. Like, I can't even bother to express real emotion to my family. I'll use it. I wrote a poem to my mom on her birthday. Fuck it. She was crying so hard. It said mom. It was me. Oh fuck, what rhymes with mom? Shit. And that's what the poem said.
Starting point is 00:04:52 That's not her name. Mom, you like Tom and you're the bomb. Love you. CD-ROM. Okay. But no, I mean, not like, no one evangelizing. Everyone's kind of like who I know it's like they play with it or They do stupid stuff or whatever I was talking to a mom who's like talking about it fearfully like with regards to like her They're like just kind of like I mean who knows what's gonna what the future is gonna be with AI like there There'll be no right completely unrecognizable. So like we, you know, worried about her child's future and blah, blah, blah. Yeah. Worried about, worried about the state of the country.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Exactly. I'm just like, wow, that's. Sure. Oh, you're just shifting all your concern to that. What about like a livable planet more than like what the AI, cause you know, the AI will make continue to make the planet more uninhabitable. But anyway, you care a lot about your kids. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:49 Anyways, realize, realize, AIs, cheese lies is the truth. You need real eyeballs in your head to realize cheese lies. AI is not gonna do it for you. Let's talk about, so, you know, as Elon Musk and this Trump administration are continuing to make changes, to move fast and break stuff. Changes, making a few changes to this whole thing
Starting point is 00:06:18 called your democracy. We're gonna make a couple little changes that are hurting people, that are making people's lives worse. Yeah. We're coming to a conflict between the fact that there are these Republican members of Congress, just all members of Congress, but particularly Republican ones who are like, this is going to be great.
Starting point is 00:06:39 And then they're inside the bubble, in the team, in the Trump team, they're still like, this is great. And then they're hearing from their constituents. Yeah. I mean, there's a, and the bulwark and even CNN, they're talking about just how, again, members of Congress, they're like, uh, I'd be lying if I said my own constituents from my Republican district where people voted for Trump in massive numbers, aren't blowing up my phone lines and sending me emails about how basically what the fuck is going on. You can't just fuck everything up.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Like I still need some parts of the government to function. We talk a little bit about it in tomorrow's episode too. But I mean, I think the main thing is that it's one of those things where they're trying to do this very delicate thing of like reassuring constituents that they are still in control and worry not what this guy is saying who's actually in control. And also not really actively standing up either. They're like, well, some guardrails should be in place or whatever.
Starting point is 00:07:36 And then they all pivot to like, but I believe Elon Musk has done an incredible job with his companies and knows how to do it. It's very, very odd. So it's one of these things where, you know, the Republicans continue to just be like, yeah, I guess I'm in Congress. I don't even honestly, I don't even I didn't even know what Congress was. When I ran, I just knew I get to be like more.
Starting point is 00:07:58 There's more eyeballs on me in my cool Twitter account. So that's what I'm here for. I didn't realize that, like like they can't do that stuff and I'm supposed to be in charge of things like funding. Oh shit, I didn't do the reading. That's me. That's what I'm supposed to do. Wait, I'm the government?
Starting point is 00:08:15 Thought this was just good for my marketing. I was like having a podcast or something. Okay, this makes a lot of sense now. This makes a lot of sense. This is why those people were yelling at me. Okay. Yeah, Ben Klein, who's a Republican from Virginia, wrote in a letter to his constituents that Doge is,
Starting point is 00:08:32 quote, an essential initiative to reduce wasteful spending, cut bureaucrat, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, but then goes on to pivot that, quote, there's no evidence to support the allegation that Elon Musk or his team has unlawfully accessed or sees sensitive data. Any access to citizen data is strictly regulated. Like, cause a lot of people too,
Starting point is 00:08:50 they've spent all this time also talking about privacy and like companies, da da da da da, that now their constituents are like, what the fuck is this? That guy specifically, Ben Klein, he has over 12,000 federal employees that live in his district. So these are significant numbers of people
Starting point is 00:09:05 who are already on the receiving end of Dogeboy fuckboy army. So yeah, will that change? I'm not sure. When Ben Klein's money by tipping over his car the next time he's in your town and shaking him down a little bit. I mean, when you look at just sort of like the energy
Starting point is 00:09:28 around a lot of these, like the press secretary, Caroline Levitt, she's just like being asked directly, yo, what's going on with Doge or whatever? And she just starts waving around receipts and shit. Let me just play this audio of her saying she's got screenshots of Waste and again this makes no sense because she's just merely Documenting like other like the spending that a previous administration has done, but they're calling it fraud as for the actual receipts
Starting point is 00:10:02 We are happy to provide them and I actually brought some today because all of you know I love to bring the receipts. We have contracts upon contracts that we can send and provide this information to you. Let me be very clear. We are not trying to hide anything. We have been incredibly transparent and we will continue to be. These are screenshots of contracts that Doge found across our government. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:10:24 This is a DEI contract. $36,000 for US citizenship and immigration services. $36,000? Holy shit. Go on. Fucking smoking gun. His policies and his America first agenda. This is a $3.4 million contract,
Starting point is 00:10:40 a council for inclusive innovation at the US Patent and Trademark Office, Department of Commerce, another DEI contract that Doge identified. Because it has the word inclusive in it. Yeah, it's like, it's absurd. And again, the logic is they're like, well, Donald Trump, like this quote goes against the president's policies, therefore is fraudulent? Is fraud, but it happened before he was president It doesn't interesting there. It's so like again. It is so opaque despite their constant. I sure this is the most transparent process
Starting point is 00:11:14 We've ever how we be more is transparent. We print it out in black and white these screencaps Completely without any context here. You want to look at it up in front there you go. I'm holding it up in front of the camera. Oh, can I see it? Okay, just really quick though. One, two, three. Okay, I gotta take it away. What the fuck was that? It looked like an Uber Eats receipt.
Starting point is 00:11:30 It's just like waving them around and then. Okay, okay, okay, it's gone. It's his like big stack of papers all over again. Remember when he used to do that? Silly. Where he would like come out and be like, look at all this, look at all these papers, this is all the stuff. They are not not doing that he is completely reorienting the entire
Starting point is 00:11:49 federal government for yeah completely nefarious purposes and they're doing it again and they're thinking I mean I'm sure there are plenty of people just like yeah man get rid of the woke stuff but guess what this the fucking though title wave is gonna hit everybody at a certain point with this shit But hey 30 words out stopping a $34,000 contract that you disagree with on you know on grounds of because we're racist Is not what seems to be happening here was seems to be happening here is they're Dismantling the ability of the government to do its job.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Do any people in need? Yeah, 100%. And basically anything that prevents the wealthy and greedy to continue to be wealthy and greedy, that's gone. Yeah, it's gone. Oh yeah. And you know what they're good at being wealthy and greedy and finding ways to fuck people over so they can get more money.
Starting point is 00:12:44 Did you see a COVID-19? Do you see that one? Oh, I think I missed that one. They made a lot of money Is it made a lot of money in that? Yeah, it's on max. I know nobody makes it's on Apple So they didn't really promote it, but it's actually pretty pretty wild. I got COVID-17 though. That was cool. Yeah, that one's good Let's take a quick break. We'll come back. We'll talk about inflation. We'll be right back. And we're back.
Starting point is 00:13:19 We're back. And inflation is up. And I think we all know who to blame on that one. Thanks a lot, President Biden. Oh, huh. Oh, we're doing that again. Yeah, yeah, he did. Huh? Yeah. Did you hear about like he went to Holly Weird after his thing ended?
Starting point is 00:13:36 And who knows what he was getting up to out there? He was doing inflation to us over there. He was doing inflation, man. So it rose again. It was the fastest pace since August 2023. This time economists weren't expecting it at all. They thought that we would barely have any change from December since that had been the trend for a while.
Starting point is 00:13:58 And economists who I'm not a huge, we're not usually big fans, but even they seem to be saying this is caused by quote, uncertainty from Trump's tariff threats and the skyrocketing costs of goods and primarily rent. Yeah. Wow. It went up 30%. They made up 30% of that increase. Yeah. That is wild. Again, for someone who rode in on the, I alone can fix inflation and can't even
Starting point is 00:14:30 answer questions about this shit anymore. Yeah. So he, uh, quickly blamed it on Biden. He, uh, dropped a Biden inflation up on a truth social this morning. And yeah, I don't know. It just it feels like this is we know that inflate like at least my theory is inflation is caused by the fact that corporations can do whatever they want.
Starting point is 00:14:59 And they are the only ones who have any strength and like bargaining power within the US government. And the US government does not represent people. And corporations have figured out that they can keep increasing their profits by raising prices whether they need to or not. And nobody's going to do shit about it. And nobody's going to, you know, push back on monopolies. So in many cases, competition isn't going to do shit about it.
Starting point is 00:15:31 And we're seeing, I think some people, I think the theory of the case, at least partially for why people were like, okay, he says he's going to be an authoritarianism. Let's see what that looks like is people's right, you know, beyond all the racism and the obvious reasons we've talked about for why people voted for Trump. I think some people were probably like, well, he will like do stuff and people seem to listen to him sometimes because he is a dictator. Right, right. Is who everybody feels the need to kiss the ass of. And so I think maybe some people are like, maybe he can fix inflation. Maybe is the one thing that can stop inflation because like he's, you know, Joe Biden can't know nobody listens to a democratic president because the democratic party is in the business
Starting point is 00:16:20 of keeping the machine operating as it currently does. So maybe Trump will come in and just be like, knock that shit off. Kind of what he supposedly did with Israel, where it's just like, well, he said no and they kind of listened. And we're just, first of all, that's not actually what happened with Israel, but that's also not going to happen here. It seems like the whole party is just basically a kleptocracy of the richest people just breaking the system as fast as possible to get as much money as possible. And therefore like what the like they seem so far from pushing back on corporate
Starting point is 00:17:00 like raising of prices. It seems like it couldn't be the furthest thing from. That's not gonna fucking happen at all. It's not gonna happen at all. And I'm sure MAGA will just like all the people who the voters will just end up being like, you know, eggs are fucking woke actually. Like I don't need to eat a fucking egg. They're overpriced and woke and I don't need milk
Starting point is 00:17:21 and I don't need electric. Like that's, I mean, you'd think that's one version of how this momentum carries over like ideologically to people when like their material conditions are absolutely in the fucking basement. They'll just be like, actually, no, it's good that I have no financial recourse to anything at this point, but I don't know.
Starting point is 00:17:39 I mean, like at a certain level, I think the reason why Americans are able to ignore so much of like the hardship around the country and abroad is because there is a lot of material comfort for many American people, not everyone clearly, because there's such an income gap and inequality gap. But like, for I think the people who felt comfortable starting to feel uncomfortable,
Starting point is 00:18:01 maybe that might just shake them a bit, rather than maybe being like, Trump needs to get out. They'll be like Trump do something. Come on now, please. Okay, no, fine. Because I think as long as like they keep terrorizing, like sort of these ideals that they think like liberal people hold so closely to them, that might be enough. But I don't know, it is, it is getting a little bit like they're walking, the rope is becoming tighter and tighter that they're walking. Yeah, I don't know how it's going to work out in the future. Like it seems like, you know, if we were getting closer and closer to some sort of, you know, people's revolution or like uprising, like this administration doesn't seem to be in any position to put the brakes on
Starting point is 00:18:42 that. And in fact, they seem to be, you know, underlining it more and more and creating crises that are going to make it more and more likely. We'll have to wait and see. We'll wait and see for the thrilling conclusion of America. That's right. The new Captain America movie is dropping this weekend. The reviews are in and they are mid,
Starting point is 00:19:04 in the 40s on Metacritic. We know some people who went and saw it and said that it is more of a continuation of the 2008 Hulk movie than a new Captain America movie. The 2008 Hulk movie is like for a while was like known as like, Oh, the one that nobody saw. And we had to like reboot that character and not have Edward Norton and instead have, you know, Mark Marky roughs. So I don't know. They're targeting 96 million.
Starting point is 00:19:37 Uh, I don't know, man. That seems, that seems high. I would like, from the moment I saw this, like something about the thing of just like the pitch seems to be Harrison Ford, but he's Red Hulk now. So like there's a Hulk, but he's different Hulk. Like that. I don't know that that like really resonates. And then there's the pitch of, you know, black Captain America, which could be cool, but
Starting point is 00:20:03 it doesn't seem like how they're selling it. Wait, so Harrison Ford is the Red Hulk? Harrison Ford is president. Okay. He gets access to Red Hulk-ness and Red Hulk's out in the trailer. And then he's fighting Anthony Mackie as Captain America. So we get to see a giant angry white guy fight a black guy. Yeah, yeah, that's like what the okay And then there's is the Mossad agent still in I remember that was like the first thing when they were like them and we're like
Starting point is 00:20:33 Wow, y'all are really also putting a massage They fixed that okay, so they get that character is she's still Israeli But now she's part of the Black Widow program and now works for the U.S. government. So she's an Israeli assassin who works closely with the White House. So they fixed it. OK, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great. Yeah. OK. I mean, that's why there are demonstrators outside of the premiere.
Starting point is 00:21:01 Yeah, there were protesters at the premiere being like, I don't know this seems bad guys having an Israeli superhero who has close ties to the You know military industrial complex within the movie Feels and also feels like a weird time to be having fun with that concept Yeah No Seriously, I also don't know like when this character originally appears like the Hulk was kind of like at odds with them to being like, you don't acknowledge people human.
Starting point is 00:21:31 Right. And now it's right. And now, yeah, in the comic book. And I like how the people are like, well, no, we didn't change it because of like the backlash. We changed it because like it looked like some of the projections for opening weekend looked a little bit different. I don't know what gonna do with the backlash, but that's what we're doing.
Starting point is 00:21:47 96 million. I'm gonna take the under on this. I'm taking under as well. I'm a hard under, lock it in. This is the- But I don't know. This will be telling because it's like how much, like how willing are we to lower our standards in pursuit of a distraction?
Starting point is 00:22:03 I think that's really what it's gonna be. I don't think it's gonna do well because the movie's great. I think it's more gonna be a function of people like, bro, I just need to go see some shit like and pretend it's like 2015, 2016. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, the last Marvel movie that came out, I don't know if it was the last,
Starting point is 00:22:17 but obviously Deadpool vs Wolverine was a massive hit. So I could be way off here. I just, I don't know. Something about this one, like when I saw the trailer, I was like, this kind of looks like shit. Like it doesn't look that cool. Well then there's like the other one, fucking, wasn't it Craven or some shit?
Starting point is 00:22:36 Oh, was that Marvel? Craven the Hunter? That's a Marvel joint? Right, it's a Marvel character, but it's a Sony movie, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I'm just saying like character, but it's a Sony movie, right? Yeah. Yeah, but I'm saying like just one's are there Yeah, yeah, it's you know, whatever I Y'all there's there's old. What's the old Ninja Turtles cartoon? You know what I mean? Yeah, give that a shot this weekend. Damn, we got 16 friendship trailer by the way. Oh, yeah
Starting point is 00:23:02 See that I did, you know Tim, you know, I got the Google alert for Tim Robinson. Tim Robinson, A24 movie. But yeah, directed by Andrew DeYoung. So remind me, who's Andrew DeYoung? I saw you on- He's a director, and he's directed a ton of stuff. Like, I think he's directed some episodes of like, Shrill.
Starting point is 00:23:18 He definitely directed episodes of like, Pen 15. Oh, damn. He's around as a comedy director. He's a really funny comedy director. Yeah, worked with like Kate Berlant. They're just like, he's around like funny stuff, but now like he did, you know, Dave, like he's done funny shows.
Starting point is 00:23:34 And now this is like his directorial debut. I think he also wrote the film. Damn, Dave. That was also really good. That show was good. With Kevin Kline. But yeah, he's the writer director of this one. And I think from my understanding, this was like a 24, like acquired it rather than developed it.
Starting point is 00:23:51 So this is like, you know, seemingly pure form of artistic expression from Andrew de Young and then everybody involved. So it looks great. Like Tim Robinson is like perfect for this fucking role of a guy who gets like man-dumped Yeah, exactly. It feels like a feature length. I think you should leave sketch. Yeah But like obviously the pacing is not gonna be that just breakneck joke joke joke It's it feels like it's a little bit more like tuned to like cable guy Yeah, also really good that like friend support group where they start singing Yeah, the boys are real trailers awesome everybody check it very a 24 of the trailer
Starting point is 00:24:41 Yeah, that is the thing like it's talking about so it's like these guys who are like hanging out having some bruise and just being like Vulnerable with each other and like that's a thing like men's groups and like in particular in like the Christian evangelical community. Like first of all, I think it's great. Like the idea of like men being able to like go and like talk openly and be vulnerable. I'm not like here to write it in any way. But I think so many dudes may think they're going to do that and then he's get fucked up and then yeah, yeah. We did cocaine. I'm in my 40s yeah but I needed to do the cocaine to like be able
Starting point is 00:25:10 to kind of get a little vulnerable then I monologued I did a coke monologue for 45 minutes about my life the Hulk movie is in the 40s on Metacritic this one has only five reviews in but it premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and the people who saw it is at 84% Meta score, so it might just be good. Yeah anyways that's something to look forward to if
Starting point is 00:25:43 Civilization doesn't collapse by then. We'll see. Yeah. And it won't. That's the thing. It's easy to just be like, everything's going to fall apart and we'll be good. But it's not going to fall apart. It's going to keep being shitty in the same way. So yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:58 Yeah. Yeah. Anyways, those are some of the things that are trending on this Wednesday, February 12th. We are back tomorrow with a whole last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Get the vaccine. Get your flu shots.
Starting point is 00:26:14 Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we will talk to you tomorrow. Bye. Bye.
