Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of Fool Me Once, trend on, trend on you? fool me you can't get fooled again that one was trend in there
Starting point is 00:03:04 fool me wants trend on you oh trend on you okay okay okay okay I always forget how quickly he goes off there it's right from fool me wants shame on and then he stops
Starting point is 00:03:17 just totally bailes on it doesn't even begin to know what the saying is fool me wants shame on shame on you fool me. There's an old saying in Tennessee. I know it's in Texas. Probably in Tennessee.
Starting point is 00:03:31 He says, fool me once. Shame on. He doesn't know it at that point. Yeah, he fucked up. It fool me. We can't get fooled again. It's so good. Every fucking time. If you can't fool me again.
Starting point is 00:03:49 I was thinking of that this morning because, Miles, we've been made fools. we've been a fool brute impact on blue sky points out that today is Mario Day because look up in the right corner of your computer and you'll see that it's to
Starting point is 00:04:09 Mar 1-0 2 Mar-10 to Martin 2-Mar 10 with love from Julie Newmar from the movie from the show Martin. Yeah Mar-10 is Mario. Look at that.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Shout out to brute impact on blue sky. Shout to everyone's screaming at their iPods. Yeah. Everyone's listening on an iPod. Shout to them screaming at their car or their speakers as we were like, I don't think Mario came on. I think it was like it was when Mario came out. It was actually when Donkey Kong.
Starting point is 00:04:42 So they were like that actually happened in July. So they're up on this shit. We are not. But thank you for that also. I got to show that to my kids today. I said it's Mario Day. look at this on on the date and they were very impressed
Starting point is 00:04:57 they loved it. Oh. So shout out to Brut Impact. Give me a little, give me a little some dad content. Pressure's on, dude. For the next one. I know. All right, this is the episode where we tell you what was trending this morning. Wait, do they know about May the Fourth be with you? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, all right.
Starting point is 00:05:17 Yeah, I mean. Yeah, you know, that one hits too, because I know they're little Star Wars or at least your old is, right? Yeah, they're a little Star Wars nerds. It comes in waves now, but yeah, my son... He's under legit war now. Yeah, he's under legit World War II. Yeah, yeah. He's a World War II nerd. Coming a man.
Starting point is 00:05:38 Already ended in World War II. Oh, man, he's real deep in it. He was like saying something. He was like, I just realized something like, aircraft carriers, A, the most powerful. B, battleships, the second most powerful. full C. Do you think they did it like that on purpose? I was like, damn, you're like seeing, you're seeing a Matrix that ain't even there, bro. You're going to be in the red, the subreddits pretty soon.
Starting point is 00:06:04 The second he finds out what's what reddits are, that's going to be bad, bad for all of us. Anyways, my name's Jack O'Brien that over there is Mr. Miles. Great. Let's tell them what's trending right now. Yeah, what's trended. Rosanna Arquette came out. Wait, is it Patricia Arquette or Rosanna Arquette?
Starting point is 00:06:27 Rosanna, sorry, I kept writing Patricia. It's Rosanna. It's Rosanna. The one, the famous Jody of Pulpix. And that's the one with all this shit in her face? No. No, that's Jody. My wife.
Starting point is 00:06:43 She, I don't know if we're talking about this on Mike, but it comes up a lot about Tarantino, loving to say the N-word and movie. movies. Oh, yeah. He's gotta. Like, he's got to, mister. And Roseanna Arquette was recently in this interview, um, in the UK, she gave this interview where she, like, her career comes up. They talk about Pulp fiction. She's like, yeah, it was great. Like, obviously a huge movie. It's a cult film. And then she said this, then she goes on to say, quote, personally, I'm over the use of the N word. I hate it. I cannot stand that he has been given a hall pass. It's not art. It's just racist and
Starting point is 00:07:18 creepy. And we're like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure, for sure. That is. She also mentioned that she is one of the only cast members from Pulp Fiction that didn't get any back end points, meaning like no royalties from the profits of the film. She suspects it's a result of her, you know, like she was part of the early Me Too movement like calling on Harvey Weinstein. She says, she thinks it's on the heels of her rejecting Weinstein when he tried to assault her. And from that point, she's like, bro, I didn't get cast at anything. and I feel like I can draw a direct line from that moment. I just want to reiterate,
Starting point is 00:07:50 like in Pulp Fiction, he casts himself in a role, like that he has no business playing because he's not a good actor. It's like the one part of the movie where if you're watching it, you have no idea who Quentin Tarantino is what he looks like, you're going to be like, why was that one guy, like, a bad actor in a movie otherwise,
Starting point is 00:08:10 just like rock solid? And also why did he keep saying the N-word? Like, why is this, taking place in a alternate universe where that's just cool. Right. It's because it's his alternate universe where he's always wanted to say that. I'm really cool with black guys. I can say the N word like hard R.
Starting point is 00:08:28 You know what I mean? Hard art. Ardust of ours. The BET like Quentin Tarantino going on BET with Jamie Fox and Samuel L. Jackson for Django is one of the worst things I've ever seen a human being do. where he like gets on and he does this like weird like condescending black scent where it's he's he's lost the fucking plot and you know you do you see there's like a lot of articles in the past when this comes up point out like collaborators like you know samuel jackson or jamie fox
Starting point is 00:09:07 or they defended the use of the n-word but it's usually in the context of a black or overtly white supremacist character using in a film? Or he's like, yeah, I mean like, yeah, well, Jackson saying it. Yeah, yeah, exactly. And even and like, even Jamie Fox is like, yeah, the fucking slavers are going to be racist in this movie where that's like
Starting point is 00:09:27 the engine of this revenge plot. And he's like, sure, like that, but what Rosanna Arquette is talking, she was talking about Pulp Fiction. So if we're talking about the use of that word in that film as it relates to Quentin Tarantino, it's fucking gratuitous, unnecessary, cringing.
Starting point is 00:09:42 and he says it with like the joy of like, I get to say this to a black guy too because this is cool and this is my movie. If I had one wish in the world, it would be this, that I could just say it with impunity. Oh, so you want to be black? Oh, God, no.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Oh, God, no, no, no, no. I just want to be able to say the N word without getting the shit smacked out of me. That's really what it is. That's kind of my thing. That and feet. Yeah, yeah, yeah. These are my two things.
Starting point is 00:10:09 So, again, this is what he responded it to a Roseanne Arquette. Yeah, I will just say, like, I would expect him to, you know, as somebody who just out of nowhere, just went on a 15 minutes screed about how Paul Dano has like a weak chin and sucks shit, like for no apparent reason, you would think that he might have like some tolerance for people just stating their opinion without fear in the media. Right, right, right. That's the sort of thing that he does.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Right, exactly. So look, here he is. This is the letter he writes. Dear Roseanne, I hope the publicity you're getting from 132 different media outlets writing your name and printing your picture was worth disrespecting me in the film I remember quite clearly you were thrilled to be a part of. Do you feel this way now? Very possibly. But after I gave you a job and you took the money to trash it for what I suspect is very cynical reasons shows a decided lack of class no less honor. they're supposed to be in esprit decor
Starting point is 00:11:09 between artistic colleagues but it would appear the objective was accomplished congratulations cue well Bill Simmons in there yeah yeah it's just that's my insufferable guy voice wasn't I fool this in but it's
Starting point is 00:11:25 it's there it's in the neighborhood for sure they went to the same high school yeah so that's that's his response is how dare you what yeah I don't know like for her to come out and say these things is like about a filmmaker who's still very, you know, powerful in the industry, an industry that has not looked favorably on people pointing out that they've been
Starting point is 00:11:50 fucked over by rapist executives. Yeah, yeah. What are the cynical reasons that he thinks she's getting it, just to get her name? Like, that's the thing. I feel like he needs to, I feel like he needs to actually think about her as a thinking, a smart person and be like, oh, well, actually that wouldn't be good for her to do that. So it must come from a place of conviction and belief.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Maybe I should take a step back and look at my own beliefs. Nah, can't be. Can't be that. It's that she's a fucking hater. Yeah. It's, and I mean,
Starting point is 00:12:28 it's very Trumpy. You know what I mean? Yeah. Or it's like, oh, someone is, just expressing how they feel about me and it's not positive. Well, they're just doing that to get in the papers.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Yeah, nice try. It wasn't an article purely about you, dude, so relax. Anybody who says anything that is mildly upsetting or like bumps you a little bit, is it just a hater? That's how we view the world now. Just a hater. Yeah, because I mean, he could have maybe articulated something that was more to the point, like directly addressing what her, you know, her gripe.
Starting point is 00:13:01 was with him. But he didn't. No. No, he didn't. I say the N-word too much. You're trying to get in the papers. Yeah. That's not a, that's the, like, weakest fucking deflection family. I suspect very cynical reasons. Yeah. There's supposed to be esprit of core. Oh my God. Shut the fuck. Spreed decor, which allows me to do something
Starting point is 00:13:23 and never get judged ever for the rest of my life. Should I mention how difficult you were about showing your feet in the film? ultimately relented because it just felt like it was a dead end. But anyway, speaking of 90s filmmakers, AI just made a Wes Anderson movie and it's getting scary out here, folks. AI like tech CEOs. CEOs are sending this clip around to each other with like the big eyes looking gif,
Starting point is 00:13:52 you know, they like to like, you see this? Hmm. Not a whole movie, just a trailer, that I don't know it feels like it is
Starting point is 00:14:06 a memory of a Wes Anderson movie as remember by someone who was hit in the head yeah yeah like very hard and repeatedly and also like I don't know like doesn't have a soul for some like they sold their soul to the devil and in exchange got hit in the head until they couldn't really like remember things
Starting point is 00:14:26 quite quite well enough Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like, it's like trying to remember like a dream. Yes. Yeah, it was like this. I know the big details, which is everything is very symmetrical. And there's bright colors and like sort of. Yeah, symmetrical bright colors.
Starting point is 00:14:44 Classically dressed people. But the people in it. So it's like Wes Anderson movie, except no semblance of coherence. Yeah. And it seems like everyone involved has had. the surgery from Get Out for some reason. Like they're all just like sprinting around dead-eyed without like any real purpose. They all got scars on their heads.
Starting point is 00:15:09 Yeah, yeah. It's all very strange. I mean, you know, it's doing what it does. It's like, yeah, here's a bunch of images that will put together to create video. And okay. I mean, like it's so unimpressive. Yeah. But I guess for people who have no creative bone in their body,
Starting point is 00:15:28 like, this is fucking sick. That must be what it is. Like, I just feel like it's really like Rorschach test. Uh-huh. How are you saying that, Miles? How do you say Rorschach? Rorschach.
Starting point is 00:15:42 There we is. There we go. It's really like a artistic Rorschach test where like a... Rorschach baby. Ror shack, baby. The... That wasn't even on.
Starting point is 00:15:55 That's like Michigan J. Frog or something. Raha'all shacks. Bain-Bah, B'am! Quintan-Tarantino loves Michigan J. Frog, by the way. Sure, he does.
Starting point is 00:16:03 He's planning to make a a bio-pick. Yeah, I'm sure he loves Mr. Butterworth. I'm sure he loves Aunt Jemima. He loves them all. He wrote him, yes, it makes sense
Starting point is 00:16:14 that there are slavers using the N-word in Django. He wrote himself in as one that didn't need to be there at all. With an added accent. With an Australian accent,
Starting point is 00:16:25 just to be like, I've always wanted to know what it felt like to say it with this accent. Yeah. Next movie, I'm going to be Chinese insane. But it really is this thing.
Starting point is 00:16:38 It reminds me of the friends thing that went around with their like, scary hours bro. Look at how much we just like, we just made friends, we made the entire cast of friends irrelevant. And then it's this weird fucking like fever dream
Starting point is 00:16:54 of like a memory of friends. where it's like, yeah, there's like weird. It's like they're singing a song that they half remember. Or you're watching it fucked up on acid. Yes. Because like shit happens that makes no sense. And you're like, oh, I'm tripping while watching friends. Of course, like she has nine hands or they're not actually saying English words.
Starting point is 00:17:18 I mean, I don't know. I still just don't know what this does. Okay, so you can make, you prompt it and it shits out a thing that isn't even close to the quality that people would pay money to see. So then what is it? You just, you just wasted a fuck ton of water. Yeah, yeah. You got it. And then this is a distraction while we actually use it to program drones to fight wars.
Starting point is 00:17:40 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mainly what we're doing over here. Let's take a quick break and we'll be right back. Next Monday, our 2026 IHeard podcast awards are happening live at South by Southwest. Since the biggest night in podcasting. We'll honor the very best in podcasting. from the past year and celebrate the most innovative talent and creators in the industry.
Starting point is 00:18:05 And the winner is... Creativity, knowledge, and passion will all be on full display. Thank you so much. IHeartRadio. Thank you to all the other nominees. You guys are awesome. Watch live next Monday at 8 p.m. Eastern, 5 p.m. Pacific free at veeps. At vips.com or the Veeps app.
Starting point is 00:18:22 Hi, this is Joe Winterstein, host of the Spirit Daughter podcast, where we talk about astrology, natal charts and how to step into your most vibrant life. And I just sat down with a mini driver. The Irish traveler said when I was 16, you're going to have a terrible time with men. Actor, storyteller, and unapologetic, Aquarian visionary. Aquarius is all about freedom-loving and different perspectives. And I find a lot of people with strong placements in Aquarius are misunderstood.
Starting point is 00:18:53 A son and Venus and Aquarius in her seventh house Spark her unconventional approach to partnership. He really has taught me to embrace people sleeping in different rooms, on different houses and different places, but just an embracing of the isness of it all. If you're navigating your own transformation or just want to chart side view into how a leading artist integrates astrology, creativity, and real life,
Starting point is 00:19:17 this episode is a must listen. Listen to the Spirit Daughter podcast, starting on February 24th on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you've, listen to your podcast. I'm Clayton Eckerd, and in 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor. Unfortunately, it didn't go according to plan. He became the first Bachelor to ever have his final Rose rejected. The internet turned on him. If I could press a button and rewind it all I would. But what happened to Clayton after the show made even bigger headlines. It began as a one-night
Starting point is 00:19:51 stand and ended in a courtroom with Clayton at the center of a very strange. paternity scandal. The media is here. This case has gone viral. The dating contract. Agree to date me, but I'm also suing you. Please search for it. This is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trapped. This season, an epic battle of He Said She said, and the search for accountability in a sea of lies. Listen to Love Trapped on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you. get your podcasts. I'm Nancy Glass, host of the Burden of Guilt Season 2 podcast.
Starting point is 00:20:40 This is a story about a horrendous lie that destroyed two families. Late one night, Bobby Gumpright became the victim of a random crime. He pulls the gun. Tells me to lie down on the ground. He identified Tremaine Hudson as the perpetrator. Germaine was sentenced to 99 years. I'm like, Lord, this can't be real. I thought it was a mistaken identity.
Starting point is 00:21:09 The best lie is partial truth. For 22 years, only two people knew the truth until a confession changed everything. I was a monster. Listen to Burden of Guilt Season 2 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jay Chetty. of the On Purpose podcast, my latest episode is with Hilary Duff, singer, actress and multi-platinum artist.
Starting point is 00:21:42 Hillary opens up about complicated family dynamics, motherhood, and releasing our first record in over 10 years. We talk about what it's taken to grow up in the entertainment industry and stay grounded through every chapter. It's a raw and honest conversation about identity, evolution, and building a life that truly matters. You desire in family like this picture, and that's not reality a lot of the time it's for people. My sister and I don't speak. It's definitely a very painful part of my life. And I hope it's not forever, but it's for right now.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Listen to On Purpose with Jay Chetty on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. We're back. And America is waging an illegal war in the Middle East. And you know what that means. Yep. Here comes the racism. Time to freak out.
Starting point is 00:22:45 Time to start. Time for the scariest thing to put in a TV show to be the call to prayer. Yep. You know? There's going to be a lot of yellow tinted footage with the call to prayer. And yeah, people taking orders and then going down a shadowy alley. Yep. Yep.
Starting point is 00:23:04 A lot of nonsensical graffiti. What was the one? What was the, uh, That show with Claire Daines. Homeland. You know, that was like, that was like the most, people were always calling like the nonsensical, like, Arabic graffiti. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:18 It's just like, I don't know, guys. We're just trying to give you guys the texture of Muslim. And again, the world is already on stage, you know, as a man with the cognitive impairment of a cartoon cat that had a fucking anvil dropped on his head. Yeah. A man's all of the world's worst weapons. And as if that wasn't enough.
Starting point is 00:23:37 Now, all, of course, all of the. all of the racists are also now on edge because this means anyone brown or not speaking another language is a terrorist. So there's a southwest flight last week going from, where is it, Nashville to Fort Lauderdale. So I'm imagining a lot of open-minded people there, a lot of people who are pretty culturally sensitive and understand that right now we are in the midst of the holiest month in Islam. But on this flight, there was a quote, the flight was diverted after what the airline described as a quote, misunderstanding.
Starting point is 00:24:13 Southwest flight 2094 landed safely at Hartsfield, Jackson, Atlanta International around 9 p.m. After the crew reported a passenger disturbance. Okay. So what was it? The incident involved a passenger who had set a timer on his phone so that he could pray for Ramadan. Mm-hmm. And that's what set it off. This guy's prayer timer goes off.
Starting point is 00:24:34 Just a timer goes off. A timer goes off. I don't know if maybe the timer had a prayer. I don't fucking know. They have the call it a prayer thing that from homeland and everybody is scared. I'm sure anyone heard it. And because this is just the thing that's always funny, especially about like white American people is they,
Starting point is 00:24:53 the guilt that like of maybe if it's not conscious, they know subconsciously they're doing bad shit to people. Right. So it's what is a That is a weight that they hold. Yeah. And it's quite possible that it's coming back to me on some level. That's why I just,
Starting point is 00:25:10 I'm going to blanket fear every person of color. That's right. Because we take him from them. So this is how it kind of manifests. And the hatred and the fear, like how it gets stoked up so hard of white supremacy is just because they know on some level it's a lie. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:30 It's that, yeah. And then also that there's just massive metric tons of bombs being dropped on people just for. God forbid you cross that intellectual bridge into actually I'm more like them than anyone else. Yeah, much more like them than the fucking people who are dropping the bombs. I've exalted to this point of deifying them. The statement goes on to say, quote, we sincerely apologize to our customers for the misunderstanding and the significant delay. Nothing is more important to Southwest than the safety of our customers. Who are you apologizing?
Starting point is 00:26:06 Do you know the details? Like, what do they do? Do they, like, jump on the person and, like, tape them to their chair? Like, what do they do? You know, I don't know what the heck here. Let's see. Passengers on board said the situation began when a man seated in the cabin started praying aloud while a timer repeatedly sound is on his phone.
Starting point is 00:26:23 Scary. That's like for a certain type of American who's been raised on action movies, That's the equivalent of someone just sitting in their chair being like, Jason, Jason, Jason. Yeah, yeah. Right. Right. This is so, this, and it sounds like the fucking, uh, cable guy part where they go to the
Starting point is 00:26:42 Ben Stiller trial and he's trying to frame an Asian person. Yeah. And he's like, they were speaking another land. I think it was Asian. I think it was Asian. This is what, this is what one passenger said, uh, who was recording the video said, uh, quote, he has a timer going off on his phone every 10 minutes and he's praying in a foreign language. and he appeared nervous,
Starting point is 00:27:02 then asked a flight attendant where his bag was. Again, according to the passengers, the behavior raised concerns among some travelers and crew members, prompting the captain to divert the flight an hour after takeoff. Again, it's currently Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar
Starting point is 00:27:19 where people are fasting and praying. And just like, but of course, you're praying in a foreign language. We're waging an illegal war and killing civilians abroad. Yeah. So maybe you are like, yeah, I get it. I would probably want to fuck me up too right now.
Starting point is 00:27:36 Yeah, should be scared. That's what's going through your mind. You're like, I get it. I get it. I get that. We're fucking. We're doing bad shit. So maybe the boomerang is going to come back.
Starting point is 00:27:46 I wonder why that guy seemed so nervous. What was he nervous about playing full of white people, just like staring at him every time his thing is, he starts praying. Yeah. Fucking praying. You know what I mean? bout. Oh my god. Hey man, it's all right, man. Fort Lauderdale isn't that bad. It'll be all right. Is that why you're praying? Because you've never been. You're worried about what it's like. Yeah, it could be a little freaky. Okay. But anyway, that's that's where they're at. Again, this is just sort of like on top of this quote from, you know, racist Congressman Andy Ogles earlier this week when he's like Muslims don't belong in the U.S. Like we're just 2002. We're fucking running it back completely. So yeah, it's just fucking this is. One of the many things that happens when you do, when, when Trump goes off to be like, Iran bad.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Terrorism, terrorism, terrorism, terrorism, terrorism, terrorism, terrorism. Yeah. And yeah, you get this. But again, this was, this was a habit America never put down. It's just, they're just remembering again, you know, that this is. Get back to it. I remember this. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:53 By the way, the TV show Homeland, local artists were hired to paint Arabic graffiti for scenes, but they wrote messages criticizing the show for stereotyping Arabs and Muslims like this graffiti reading, Homeland is racist with a drawing of a painting of Mickey Mouse with a red X through it.
Starting point is 00:29:14 And because the show had not a single person who spoke Arabic on staff, they aired it without realizing what it said. Of course, because why would you need to? You know, it's not about cultural sensitivity. It's about jingoistic propaganda.
Starting point is 00:29:30 That's right. And who do you trust? And I think this also goes in line too with like a Fox News and a lot of people have been like, there's, we're hearing, we're hearing reports of sleeper cells. Yeah, yeah. Activating. Sleeper cells. So the only thing more scary than sleeper cells, which is a whole group of them are lone wolves,
