Starting point is 00:01:32 And this is season four of naked sports. Up first. I explore the making of a rivalry, Caitlin Clark versus angel Reese. People are talking about women's basketball. It's just because of one single game. Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's basketball. And on this new season, we'll cover all things sports and culture.
Starting point is 00:01:51 Listen to Naked Sports on the Black Effect Podcast Network, iHeartRadio apps, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Black Effect Podcast Network is sponsored by Diet Coke. Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of Game of Thrones House of Drag Trends. That is courtesy of one Miles Gray. I am Jack O'Brien, and that over there is the aforementioned Miles Gray. And Game of Thrones, we're talking intrigue, we're talking attempted takeovers. We'll get to that later, but first, some intrigue and attempted takeovers of our own here in the United States.
Starting point is 00:02:31 You know what I'm saying? With these January 6th fuckers. So we got Steve Bannon is trending. Yeah, found guilty. Bannon is trending. Yeah. Found guilty. My man who we talked about this yesterday about how his defense rested, like without like,
Starting point is 00:02:49 with just like basically like a wet fart of a defense where they're like, are y'all got something to say? And they're like, not really your honor. Even though he was like trying to be like, Oh, this whole thing up. And they were like,
Starting point is 00:03:00 their defense was almost like, there's no way Steve Bannon could have known if Benny Thompson actually signed that and shit like that, like the subpoena. So how could he know it was legal? And that was his way of trying to bring members of Congress to have to testify. The judge was like, nah, none of that. Anyway, he's found guilty. He's moving on to sentencing. So it could be 30.
Starting point is 00:03:22 It's like 30 days minimum per count. And that's two. So maybe two so maybe up to two days or up to two years i don't think they're gonna years in prison he will not face two years in prison i can guarantee you that based on what we know of these united states people get the minimum yeah many he'll be looking at that mini coop hey look but at least we saw that shit go from fuck your subpoena to no no no dear that's contempt fam yeah so maybe this will maybe this will send a message it also felt like it went quickly i mean probably not but he was trying to delay it yeah you know he was trying his best to delay it and they're like no man i'm sorry you're this is so straightforward um and i think a lot of like the the legal punditry was like in like in the legal terms we call this a slow motion guilty
Starting point is 00:04:10 verdict it's just like you can only put shit off so much when you actually have no defense that you're just it's just so clear to everyone it's like look dude don't just don't don't delay the inevitable you know you were yeah yeah the judge was getting the wrap it up signal as he was uh you're getting the lights as they were doing opening statements i'm getting the light let's see uh josh holly is uh meme the memo the day uh because of last night's january 6th hearing in which a bunch of stuff was revealed that we will get to more important stuff but the funny thing was
Starting point is 00:04:50 they showed footage so Holly if you remember he's the diminutive dude walking in the morning of giving the fist pump to Trump supporters as he walked in real brave just got that real like revolutionary energy
Starting point is 00:05:07 high school miles would have said oh real tough guy yeah real tough wait what was the movie again oh anger management that's still that might be my favorite story I've ever heard about you just such a while somehow you didn't hear it uh miles classmate said he walked out of anger management early because he didn't like it and miles said oh you're a tough guy and started choking him anyways that's how fragile my ego was was the idea of someone else not wanting to be a participant in a film like oh you think you could just do shit like okay and had you just been talking about how it was your favorite movie? No, I didn't even see it. I just, the energy was like.
Starting point is 00:05:51 That's what's so good. Oh, you're a real tough guy. Yeah, I was like, oh, so you a tough, I don't, man, look. Don't, you don't look into the mind of an, like a fucking chaos-brained 17-year-old boy. Like, it's, it's a fucking nightmare in there. brain 17 year old boy like it's it's a fucking nightmare in there anyways uh holly going in real tough guy given the uh revolution fists uh the you know black power fist but he he didn't mean it that way don't say that no that's that or the thing from that and then he and then he posted he uh started printing merch after the fact of him giving that and being like, here's a picture of me on the morning of January 6th that liberals can fill up with, or you can fill up and drink liberal tears, lib tears with.
Starting point is 00:06:36 So he was real proud of that walking in energy. However, we caught a glimpse of what he looked like once there once uh people started breaching the capital and he uh he was running flying running away uh people have already done memes with the chariots of fire music of him running slowly away the like there's a clip of the press like we're in a different room while the hearing was going on and when they played it they all started laughing but and i get it you're like what a fucking punk like he's out here riling the crowd up like from also like behind a barricade where he's like i'm not gonna deal with this and then you do and they're like oh shit and i think it just again indicates how duplicitous all these people are who are acting because a lot of the times they wanted to show
Starting point is 00:07:25 like Republicans who are cowering in fear while the chamber was being like that when they were trying to breach the chambers and trying to say like these people all were talking tough but it's clear that they saw that this shit was clearly some kind of threat to them based on their
Starting point is 00:07:41 whether they were you know cowering fear or running for their life. So, right. Yeah. It's, I mean, again,
Starting point is 00:07:48 I think the, the whole point of, uh, the, the series or no season finale of Coachella was more to underline the fact of like how, you know, what Donald Trump's inaction was about, like,
Starting point is 00:08:00 and it's not that he didn't do anything. It's that he hit the whole point of him not doing anything was to allow that shit to cook yeah he wasn't like distracted while it was happening he was watching it excitedly being like yeah maybe that'll work so yeah they put together a timeline where he was just watching it and people were like you've got to do something you're uh let me check yeah you're still the president of the united states man you got to like do something. You're, uh, let me check. Yeah. You're still the president of the United States, man. You got to like do something. And he was like,
Starting point is 00:08:28 fuck out of here. Right. You're maybe, maybe, maybe Mike should die. I don't know. Maybe he should. The people are mad.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Speaking of which we did, we did learn that Mike Pence's secret service team detail was calling their loved ones and saying goodbye. Um, so they thought it was serious and they're i think pretty pre-trained in you know shit going down yeah i that's jeez like this shit's already grim enough with like the secret service deleting texts and shit but then when you think that like one group of secret service agents like i think the dudes who are on trump's side are putting us in a situation where we can
Starting point is 00:09:10 get killed by the mob right right uh is fucking alarming and that's like this is a freaky issue let me just look at all that but it turns out that the like something like dhHS was saying that they now have a criminal investigation into the deleting of texts. DHS is overseas. So Department of Homeland Security oversees the Secret Service. So they are the parent organization, the parent company of the Secret Service. They're now doing a criminal investigation into the deletion because they were like, yeah, no,
Starting point is 00:09:47 this doesn't, it's not like they didn't know not to delete it. It was kind of a big deal. They knew what was happening was kind of a big deal to the point that some of them were calling their loved ones and being like, Hey, I'm probably going to die. So FYI,
Starting point is 00:10:02 I love you. And yeah, it's, you know know that's all i don't i don't know that it's going to change anything but yeah so that was it that was that was the last one i mean if you i mean whether it's this case in georgia or this one like the doj has like they're this fucking trump has to get indicted like there's's, you know, and honestly, like when it doesn't, I'm like, okay, like honestly start the clock for the full blown fucking.
Starting point is 00:10:32 Yeah. All right. Let's take a quick break. We'll be right back. I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series, Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult. And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church.
Starting point is 00:10:54 And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed. Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films and LA-based Shekinah Church, an alleged cult that has impacted members for over two decades. Jessica and I will delve into the hidden truths between high-control groups and interview dancers, church members, and others whose lives and careers have been impacted, just like mine. Through powerful, in-depth interviews with former members and new, chilling first-hand accounts, the series will illuminate untold and extremely necessary perspectives. Forgive Me For I Have Followed will be more than an exploration.
Starting point is 00:11:30 It's a vital revelation aimed at ensuring these types of abuses never happen again. Listen to Forgive Me For I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Gianna Pradente. And I'm Jemay Jackson-Gadsden. We're the hosts of Let's Talk Offline, a new podcast from LinkedIn News and iHeart Podcasts. When you're just starting out in your career,

Each week, we answer your unfiltered work questions. Think of us as your work besties you can turn to for advice. And if we don't know the answer, we bring in experts who do,
Starting point is 00:12:14 like resume specialist Morgan Saner. The only difference between the person who doesn't get the job and the person who gets the job is usually who applies. Yeah, I think a lot about that quote. What is it, like you miss 100% of the shots you never take. Yeah, rejection is scary, but it's better than you rejecting yourself. Together, we'll share what it really takes
Starting point is 00:12:33 to thrive in the early years of your career without sacrificing your sanity or sleep. Listen to Let's Talk Offline on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Keri Champion, and this is season four of Naked Sports, where we live at the intersection of sports and culture. Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry, Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese. I know I'll go down in history. People are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game.
Starting point is 00:13:03 Every great player needs a foil. I ain't really near them boys. I just come here to play basketball every single day, and that's what I focus on. People are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game. Every great player needs a foil. I ain't really near them boys. I just come here to play basketball every single day, and that's what I focus on. From college to the pros, Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's sports. Angel Reese is a joy to watch. She is unapologetically black. I love her.
Starting point is 00:13:22 What exactly ignited this fire? Why has it been so good for the game? And can the fanfare surrounding these two supernovas be sustained? This game is only going to get better because the talent is getting better. This new season will cover all things sports and culture. Listen to Naked Sports on the Black Effect Podcast
Starting point is 00:13:38 Network, iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Black Effect Podcast Network is sponsored by Diet Coke. I've been thinking about you. or wherever you get your podcasts. One session. 24 hours. BPM 110. 120. She's terrified. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:14:12 What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything? You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people.
Starting point is 00:14:29 There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm. Listen to Dream Sequence on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back, and we're going to bring in our Olivia Wilde, Florence Pugh correspondent, super producer
Starting point is 00:14:59 Becca Ramos. A very specific beat that she covers for us. So, Olivia Wilde, who is the director of Booksmart, very gifted director. Her new movie is Don't Worry Darling, I believe. And it looks good. It looks really good, I think, personally.
Starting point is 00:15:20 It is an effective trailer, I would say. And Florence Pugh is the star starring opposite Harry Styles, Harrison Styles. You know, some man named Harry Styles. And so, you know, Olivia Wilde left her husband for Harry Styles around the time of this film. Florence Pugh was kind of a hot trailer. There's like a lot of, you know. Kind of a hot trailer. Kind of a hot trailer.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Kind of a hot trailer. It's like, what's not cool? We all know. A little hot under the trailer. A little hot under the trailer. But it's, yeah. Anyways, so some people are speculating that there might be beef between Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:15 Well, there's one thing about me. You know I stay in the gossip corners of the internet. It's what I do in my spare time. I had started to notice on my TikTok For Youok for you page that with the new trailer they just dropped another trailer for don't worry darling and the movie premieres at the end of september i want to say so it's coming up that they've noticed that fans have noticed that there has been surprisingly nothing from florence pugh promoting this movie and she is pretty active on the internet i feel like in quarantine she got
Starting point is 00:16:45 really popular on tiktok or i think it was actually on instagram stories for her cooking videos you know she is not one to shy away from press so it's been quite notable that she has not said anything about the movie and yet just yesterday i've been noticing it personally you know i mean i don't follow Florence Pugh, but I was following all these people talking about it, and I was like, you know what? This is kind of fun, because she had posted about the new... It is
Starting point is 00:17:13 called Oppenheimer, right? I feel like... Oppenheimer, yeah. Oppenheimer. The new Christopher Nolan movie, which isn't coming out until 2023. She's like fifth on the call sheet for that. She's definitely not as big of a role as she is for don't worry darling and yet don't worry darling she is the lead like yeah harrison styles is uh like the is not the not the lead he's you know second second build for sure
Starting point is 00:17:41 like she is the protag of this film. And yet, she did not post a trailer for the movie, but she did post the poster for that movie, which doesn't come out until 2023. So, on the Dumois boards, famously the infamous Dumois on Reddit, there have been a lot of talk of people recognizing this, talking about it, and apparently, Harry was kind of into florence during the
Starting point is 00:18:05 filming obviously allegedly allegedly allegedly i am not a source we do not have reported hollywood reporter documents here um but allegedly rumor had it that harry was kind of into florence which how could you not she was she's beautiful like she's absolutely stunning um when they were filming the movie olivia directed so olivia treated her like shit basically and was jealous that is according to what dumas said and maybe she is worried about what florence could say during the press tour that hasn't quite started because if you look at which is why people are talking if you look at olivia wild's instagram she's posted like two or three times like and one of those directly being like florence was such an angel to work instagram she's posted like two or three times like and one of those directly being like
Starting point is 00:18:45 florence was such an angel to work with she's so incredible florence did not repost it did not acknowledge that olivia posted it not even like emojis in the comments nothing yeah nothing she hasn't commented she put doves in the comments oh they're like oh shit is dumas uh dumas it's de-A-X-M-O-Y I think is how Miles pronounces it. Dukes Moy. Is that like the cue of Hollywood gossip? Is that...
Starting point is 00:19:13 Yeah, I feel like during quarantine had become very popular for their online gossip. They are the new online gossip magazine. It's like people Dumas themselves is anonymous and then people submit a lot of like you know uh blind items to them and then they try to confirm
Starting point is 00:19:33 them then when they become in the news they will post the like confirmations of certain blind items yeah i love a good blind item the blind item is a lot of powerful yeah a lot of blind items and then a lot of people will send them which is the part of dumas i don't love like their own paparazzi pics like people will be like at a restaurant like take a picture yeah that sucks and send it to dumas and be like spotted but so a blind item is when they're like this hollywood starlet is like having an affair with her director or something like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:07 They don't say the names, but you're like, on a new atom bomb movie that rhymes with Won't Bury Schmarling. Yes, very much that. Is it supposed to be? Because it's in the 50s, right? It wouldn't date it during the development of the atom bomb but maybe right like i think atomic tech yeah we were talking about before we started recording that so florence pew is in this movie which like don't worry darling is a you know it
Starting point is 00:20:36 seems like a real trippy i think i think olivia wilde was saying that like her influences were like the matrix and inception and like so it's like very like trippy psychological stuff but it does appear to take place in the desert in the 50s around a secret scientific project a base there are planes flying overhead it feels very like atom bomby and uh which is the adjective i use constantly but then the one that she posted the poster for is christopher nolan's new movie oppenheimer which is about like explicitly about the development of the atom bomb so she is an atom bomb queen she loves her an atom bomb timed movie it's her atomic age right now it's the atomic age of florence pew yeah and it's unconfirmed is she still dating zach braff i did dig into that and she hasn't made any mention or
Starting point is 00:21:30 really since may yeah so i think atomic energy is having a moment anyways thank you so much becca um we will we will stay watching this space uh so let us know i would love i mean i don't i mean i don't want to see people tear each other down but you know there's but i mean the movie looks good regardless yeah the movie looks good yeah i'm excited i think look don't even if florence gets messy i people are going to still watch it because people people the film looks good like i'm unless she's like wait till you hear what i can tell you about olivia wild and it's like i mean she seems like a professional and i mean i get being jealous the first trailer was literally harry styles eating florence pew out if we all recall um so you know i'm sure tensions were high but it's like you
Starting point is 00:22:17 created the tension so you know professionalism olivia where is it at it's a bit of a hot trailer if you ask me pretty hot i'd say steamy all right well thank you uh there are two trailers that just dropped for comic-con uh lord of the rings dropped a new trailer I think this morning. The new Lord of the Rings. It's coming at the end of the summer. September, I think. Creeping on a come up.
Starting point is 00:22:52 Game of Thrones dropped a trailer the new Game of Thrones House of Drag Trends. The Game of Thrones one is dope because they used Venus and Furs from Velvet Underground. It was a good soundtrack. one is dope because they used venus and furs from uh velvet underground and it's just kind of it was a good good soundtrack and it looked i feel like it looked good right between the two i gotta say
Starting point is 00:23:13 i wasn't as moved by the first lord of the rings teaser thing i saw this one actually looks like like a lord of the rings film yeah so i was like oh it looks like cinema yeah or more just like the scale of you know scale of like the scenes or before i was like are you guys relying too much on like cg stuff because you don't want to like really have a massive production which that's the thing with heavily cg films like they take a long time to render uh they take a long time to like get it completely locked in i remember when the first jurassic world trailer came out i was like what the fuck is this is this a cut scene from a video game in 1996 and then they ended up dropping another trailer and it looked much better yeah
Starting point is 00:23:57 but so you're not as much into the game of thrones one i don't know and this is like a take i feel like exists right is like in general I've like when they first announced this I felt like our attitude was like man the fucking original Game of Thrones did us dirty like I'm not like I'm trying to move past Game of Thrones as an adult kind of thing and even with this I'm like I look at it with like a cocked eyebrow and I'm like suspicious because I'm like are you is this gonna be good or bad so I have like this like built in hesitancy around it
Starting point is 00:24:29 and then there was like I think like a piece in Jezebel I want to say that was just like sort of pausing the question like was the first Game of Thrones like a fever dream because like I don't know if I care about this one so that's what I'm that's what I find myself like grappling with as I watch it.
Starting point is 00:24:46 Like in my mind, I'm like, remember the last one, man. It kind of, yeah, no, the,
Starting point is 00:24:51 the last one is the thing that most, the game of Thrones most has kind of going against it is like, they build it, they build it, they build it. And then they kind of shit it away at the end. Yeah. Uh,
Starting point is 00:25:03 so it's kind of, it's hard to go like be sucked back in because even if like the first few are really good you're like yeah but like what if what if this is the same shit you know right i will say i got some pushback from people on last time i criticized the lord of the rings trailer and you know i'm not a I'm not a big rings head, so maybe I'm not a person. You're not keen on the Tolkien? Yeah, not keen on the Tolkien. I've always said that about myself.
Starting point is 00:25:32 I use Tolkien a lot. I was happy to see that it's in good hands. The writers and showrunners of the Lord of the Rings series, which, by the way, is the most expensive show in the history of TV. I forget what it is, most expensive show in the history of tv i forget what it is but it's like wild amounts of money is being spent on the show uh the showrunners are jd pain
Starting point is 00:25:54 and patrick mckay so that means um i don't know because they've actually never had something published or like they don't have any credits i'll take that but they are like really hot right now they're like writing the next star trek uh adaptations of flash gordon oh i guess they wrote godzilla vs king kong so all right this this article may be outdated but they they don't seem to have tons of backing us up. Anyways, who's doing Game of Thrones? House of Drag Trends? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:26:32 That's the thing. I'm keeping an arm's distance. Right. I don't need to look too much. I'm like, I saw the trailer. I'm like, okay, let's see. You added one black person. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:40 We'll see where we go with that. Sapochnik. Kundal and Miguel Sapochnik. Oh, okay. I don't know who that is. Oh, I guess they directed the episode battle of the bastards. So they are like kind of,
Starting point is 00:26:54 so they're from, they're from the neighborhood. They're from the neighborhood, which I think is important. Right? Yeah. All right. Well,
Starting point is 00:27:01 those are some of the things that are trending. I, I hope Lord of the Rings fans can forgive me for shitting on your showrunners. I'm sure they're great, and it's going to be amazing. It's going to be fan-fucking-tastic. It did look good, though, right? It looked more... Look, there was a market improvement over the first one.
Starting point is 00:27:19 The first one, I was like, oh, no, did you spend too much money on this? And this one was like, oh, you spent a lot of money on this. And I can tell. The first one you just wrote in the upper right-hand corner in red pen needs improvement. And they've shown improvement. So they apparently got your comment. And we'll talk about it at the parent-teacher conference, just sort of the progress they've made. But I don't want to say too much.
Starting point is 00:27:41 You have to look at the picture of these dudes, the showrunners because i was like all right so this looks dope now i'm starting to get excited about this let me look up who's who's making this and they look like a couple of 80s movie bullies and i i think that is informing a lot of my uh re-hesitancy my second oh wow they're like yeah yeah blonde hair blue eye hairstyle is fucking wild who still has hair like that i don't know my man jd pain coming when coming at us from 93 yeah 93 with the butt cut but you know what boy i'll in a way part of me is like you they look like they're way too focused on like their nerd shit than like drip
Starting point is 00:28:28 so I'm like you know what keep your head in the right place man doesn't matter what you look like just come with it come with it. That'd be funny an updated photo and he's wearing like fucking dripped out like a big Jesus piece. It's only a matter of time though. Diamond encrusted he's got a dangle
Starting point is 00:28:44 diamond cross. All right. Well, those are some of the things that are trending heading into this weekend. We're back on Monday with a whole ass episode of the show. Until then, have a great weekend. Be kind to each other. Be kind to yourself. Don't do nothing about white supremacy.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Get the vaccine. Get the fucking shot. And we will see you all on Monday. Bye. Bye. I'm Carrie Champion, and this is Season 4 of Naked Sports. Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry. Kaitlyn Clark versus
