Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of I write trends not tragedies. Yeah. There it is. I just looked up what you were talking about and saw that it was called I write sins not tragedies and then I couldn't make the mental reverse. It's Fridayiday it's the end of the week my brain has stopped working but i am jack you are miles nailed it hey all right killed it hey the kids still got it so sometimes you can teach an old dog new tricks sometimes facial recognition still happening um how are you great you know just as great as i can be and by that i mean great um so let's tell the people what's trending louis anderson and meatloaf are both trending
Starting point is 00:02:56 they both passed uh one from cancer uh louis anderson uh was uh fighting cancer for a while um and meatloaf we we don't know uh but his lab like one of the last things he publicly said was if i die of covid like i gotta die something if he dies he dies if i die i die he right before this there was like a lot of people were saying that like his family members had posted a lot of people got sick with covid and were fine and then one of the last things from meatloaf's people was like he had to cancel some meetings for he had like a reality show potentially that he's going to be involved with called i would do anything for love but i won't do that and had to cancel that because he was having covid issues like that was preventing him from going so um i don't know there have been some headlines
Starting point is 00:03:45 that are sort of being unequivocal but others are being like it's unclear but yeah to that point he like was you know he was definitely getting behind eric clapton when eric clapton's like what's with all this lockdown nonsense and all the mandates and meatloaf was like this is coming political uh but anyway that out of hell man still one of the isn't that still one of like the highest selling albums of all time is it yeah wow
Starting point is 00:04:09 I don't even know what songs are on there I think that's Dashboard Light like Passion by the something like that I don't know
Starting point is 00:04:18 I'm not a huge loaf head yeah but the song I Will Do Anything for Love parentheses but I won't do that uh
Starting point is 00:04:27 i think that's what i was written uh what took over the world for a little while and in my childhood but that's not on that cd right no no that was like a 90s song i think right right right and he's like dressed as a monster there's like a real phantom of the opera thing in the video i'm real curious what the reality show starring meatloaf like i know what the reality show i would do anything for love but i won't do that could be where it's like you know yeah like you're really fucking with people yeah you really fuck it with people see like how strong their relationship is how how deep their love runs but like throwing meatloaf in the mix i'm i'm i have a harder time figuring out unless he's just the host or they're just like can we use can we license this title to make it about this unless it's a meatloaf themed
Starting point is 00:05:20 dating show in which case i don't know i don't need to start talking about what that could be but louis anderson though man the greats fucking l i really what a fucking career and especially in baskets like his performance in baskets blew my fucking head off i'm like this dude is a fucking genius yeah playing zach off knackers his mom yeah one really really great performance if you haven't seen that show, not enough people have, go check it out. Yeah, and her whole vibe is Kirkland signature everything. And I know that was more of a writer's decision,
Starting point is 00:05:55 but I just love that juxtaposition of Louis Anderson as Mother Baskets and all Kirkland everything. Yeah. And just, like, a really, really like deeply felt to perform like, I don't know. You like just felt the love and the sadness and it was really an amazing performance. And,
Starting point is 00:06:14 uh, uh, I do love a good anecdote on the day. Somebody, somebody's passing is announced. Uh, somebody tweeted, uh,
Starting point is 00:06:23 Louie Anderson once blew 80 grand all his money gambling in la then rented a car drove to vegas in the middle of the night and used a casino line of credit to win it all back in the pit by sunup caught a 7 a.m flight and went straight to shoot a 7-eleven commercial which is just like you shit. It's cool that famous people like have their most legendary, you know, 24 hours. Just, you know, people are like, oh, shit. And yeah, that's a good one. And maybe that wasn't his most legendary 24 hours, maybe. That was just how he rolled.
Starting point is 00:07:02 But a great artist and uh sad passing speaking of vegas adele is trending she pulled the plug on her live or not pulled the plug on but had to cancel or delay the opening of her vegas residency um, like 24 hours before, like people were in town to see the premiere of her Vegas residency and had to pull it last minute and, you know, posted a really heartfelt statement where she seemed really broken up about it and apologized to all the fans who had traveled there to see her.
Starting point is 00:07:43 And, you know, fortunately for them, she's not doing a residency in like you know oklahoma like there's still other stuff to do in vegas so they'll be fine but you know it's just there there were supply chain issues she mentions like half the crew got sick and i mean that's anytime you have somebody like it could have easily been that she got sick you know like yeah but i mean this is what a pandemic will do you know and i think the only way you could have ensured that is to create some kind of bubble situation you know like if you were
Starting point is 00:08:15 really being like yo i this show has to happen and we'll spend the extra money to like have a controlled environment so the show can go on and i mean yeah stuff like this this is gonna happen and yeah it definitely sucks for the fans and also part of me is like come on y'all people are out there in the world and we have one of the most you know transmissible variants out right now yeah shit's not just not are people getting mad at her like her people being like come on adele what the fuck i don't know i mean if you are like that's you have to clearly you know look at yourself in the mirror yeah maybe like you think of adele is the one who created covid and maybe there are conspiracy theories like that but uh yeah it's it's look
Starting point is 00:08:56 at yourself in the mirror put some adele on and let the feelings flow because there is some deep sadness in there that you need to get out. Absolutely. Um, encounter programming to, uh, news about who Pete Davidson is fucking, uh, Bill Hader and Anna Kendrick have announced that they've been dating for a year. Um,
Starting point is 00:09:16 which cool. Yeah. Like, how does, like, do they just hang out and they're like, you know who people seem to really like us you and me together maybe we should have sex with each other i don't know um okay but
Starting point is 00:09:35 love to see it i guess yeah they seem great yeah i like bill hader anna kendrick wore a Yankees hat in Timberlands when she was on, uh, Desus and Mero on Showtime. So yeah. Yeah. Everyone's gotten like good vibes from her. And, uh, you know, as you know, if you, uh, get good vibes off a celebrity, they're probably exactly as kind, uh, as, as you've projected onto them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Uh, like I, my, I've always said ellen you know that's just somebody you're seeing you know they're a kind person were you shipping these two i definitely like not before this i don't think i had ever like thought of them together right but yeah i think it's i think it's cute yeah i mean whatever you know everybody do you yeah when he broke up with uh his wife and then i think he like moved on to his next relationship with was with rachel bilson and that i was like i don't know i do i do love bill hater to the point that i will take an interest in who he's dating which is gonna be like yo what okay mr fucking chronic i was like no bill come on you're better than uh even though i don't know anything about rachel bilson but yeah she went
Starting point is 00:10:51 to my high school shout out to your high school and shout out to rachel bilson probably a wonderful person um and i also might be totally wrong that bill hater was dating her i think he was because as i was looking i'm like who was his like who was he with before this and i think that's who but before that it was maggie carey his wife of 12 years yeah yeah shout out to maggie um all right let's take a quick break we'll be right back i'm jess casaveto executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series, Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult. And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed. Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films and LA-based Shekinah Church, an alleged cult that has impacted members for over two decades.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Jessica and I will delve into the hidden truths between high-control groups and interview dancers, church members, and others whose lives and careers have been impacted, just like mine. Through powerful, in-depth interviews with former members and new, chilling first-hand accounts, the series will illuminate untold and extremely necessary perspectives. Forgive Me For I Have Followed will be more than an exploration. It's a vital revelation aimed at ensuring these types of abuses never happen again. Listen to Forgive Me For I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

I'm Keri Champion, and this is season four of Naked Sports, or wherever you get your podcasts. Because of one single game, every great player needs a foil. I ain't really near them boys. I just come here to play basketball every single day, and that's what I focus on. From college to the pros, Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's sports. Angel Reese is a joy to watch. She is unapologetically black. I love her. What exactly ignited this fire?
Starting point is 00:14:00 Why has it been so good for the game? And can the fanfare surrounding these two supernovas be sustained? This game is only going to get better because the talent is getting better. This new season will cover all things sports and culture. Listen to Naked Sports on the Black Effect Podcast Network, iHeartRadio app, Apple
Starting point is 00:14:17 Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Black Effect Podcast Network is sponsored by Diet Coke. I've been thinking about you. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project.
Starting point is 00:14:34 All you need to do is record everything like you always do. One session. 24 hours. BPM 110. 120. She's terrified Should we wake her up? Absolutely not
Starting point is 00:14:47 What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it That was live audio of a woman's nightmare This machine is approved and everything? You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago We're not hurting people
Starting point is 00:15:04 There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm. Listen to Dream Sequence on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back.
Starting point is 00:15:34 And John Voight is trending. You know, some people might have thought it was going to be a trifecta of people with enormous heads passing. And that's why that he was trending um but he actually is trending because he just dropped a video he's hard in the in the trump camp he goes hard in the paint for trump um and he released a video saying trump has the spirit of abe lincoln yeah you got to see this just just listen to. He's like sitting in front of like a like a green screen background of, you know, the stars and stripes just just waving in the wind as he just lets people know, let me just reinforce the big fucking lie about the stolen election. And you should trust me because I was in Anaconda. Hope has arrived.
Starting point is 00:16:30 And we shall never feel this loss again, for we all know it was stolen. And we, the American people, know the truth. Donald J. Trump is a source of God's speed. And I know Abraham Lincoln's spirit is with him to turn America great again. God bless. Whoa, that was such a long pause yeah good for him good for him yeah he hadn't really figured out the dismount on that one um yeah he that's cool i was wondering like what happens when you're sundowning but you have a camera crew right yeah and you get cool videos like that because he's also in like some of these movies where it's like uh you know liberals uh have decided to kill all the christians like and it's like an action movie and then you get john boyd in a room like looking
Starting point is 00:17:19 straight to camera just like that uh that video with um you know amazing uh audio work by the sound team on that video uh you know every year every fucking shift i think because it sounds it sounds like that as someone who's you know done a lot of digital production and you fucked up the audio it sounds like he was miked something didn't happen with his lav and they had to just crank up the onboard camera audio to serve as that um and i just want to say there is he he is responsible um for one of my favorite scenes in anaconda um when he just talks about anacondas are the perfect killing machine that's like one of the great monologues um so just want to say that's I that's the one part I agree with him. Yeah. He Anacondas are the perfect killing machine.
Starting point is 00:18:10 Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, dog. Do you remember that monologue? I remember it word for word because it's so wild to watch John Voight be like this old guy who's like Anacondas are the perfect killing machine. And he has an accent, right? guy who's like anacondas are the perfect killing machine and he has an accent right because he's doing something with an accent that is unspecific but like impressionistic we'll call jack they strike wrap around you hold you tighter than your true love then you have the privilege of hearing your bones break before the power of the embrace causes your veins to explode it's fucking ridiculous and we i used in college used to get so high and we would battle each other
Starting point is 00:18:51 who could hit that monologue harder that that's awesome man the power i mean the power of the embrace before it causes your veins to explode and when he does that he like he like leans back like he just fucking did like the sickest drum solo or something like oh yeah i mean he kind of did so uh tom hanks is trending okay because america is triggered uh he like it's always so funny like how selective the rights talking points are like ohight triggered him with that one and then uh so tom hanks was i'm assuming hired to by the biden administration to like do a series of ads you know narrating a video promoting uh recovering resilient america and all that was accomplished in biden's first year um and uh people are there there's a lot of takes from
Starting point is 00:19:47 the right being like tom hanks sucks nobody nobody thinks tom hanks is good he hasn't been good since since his last film that i love the last movie he did because he's pretty much good in most things uh but you know who my favorite actor is john voight now that guy that guy doesn't miss but people are also uh are also pointing out that 2007 15 years ago uh there's uh a simpsons i think it's the simpsons movie maybe i think so but it has uh a cameo from Tom Hanks in a scene in which he says, Hello, I'm Tom Hanks. The U.S. government has lost its credibility, so it's borrowing some of mine, which is pretty spot on.
Starting point is 00:20:33 Pretty spot on. The Simpsons nailing it 15 years in advance. Fucking hell. And then finally, Peloton, a ton of pellets. They have halted production on some of their bikes and treadmills, uh, as demand wanes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Um, there look, and when you read headlines or stories where they're like, uh, they've brought on McKinsey to help consult with restructuring. You're like, okay, so a lot of people are about to get laid off at Peloton.
Starting point is 00:21:04 Um, there's all kinds of, you know, talk of of like do they close the retail is it the apparel is it the you know what do they slow down do they charge more yeah because there's like a pellet there are peloton stores out there where they sell like all kinds of branded i was at century city the other day and i was like what the fuck is this peloton store and it was just like you know it's like one of those things when you know a brand is just getting too big because it's like they sell four things but are paying all this money for rent just for like a display case for like their wares. And that's what the store kind of felt like. And, you know, those for a while, but I didn't I didn't see any clothing racks in there.
Starting point is 00:21:40 I was just like a bunch of exercise. Bro, got to get the Peloton shorts, bro. They come with the bike. But yeah, peloton beer koozie exactly all i think all the you know the the the talk is about the imminent layoffs and but the other side of that too is you look at the ceo talking about not doing john foley yeah john foley the guy who like him and all these people, the C-suite and like upper management, they said they've cashed out like almost a half billion dollars in stocks. Right. So that's, you know, think about that and think about how, why now the people who work there who aren't making those decisions are going to bear the brunt of this. But yeah. John Foley kind
Starting point is 00:22:23 of looks like if a eight-year-old boy went missing and then they had to like age him up to like show what he would look like today he looks like a little boy who's been aged aged forward in time um but yeah i mean i would like i wonder is it partially the pandemic coming to an end is it partially uh that everyone feels like their own home is a is a prison now after having lived through quarantine or is it you know they also you can like get the peloton app and just like pay for it like it's a subscription service and use your own bike or treadmill or whatever and that that like that's what i would do if i decided to use peloton someone had to tweet that was like yo let me know when those peloton bikes are at tj max
Starting point is 00:23:12 hell yeah oh i gotta find that because i just want to give credit to that because i was like yeah that's that's where this feels like this is headed it It was Xavier DeLow on Twitter, at Xavier DeLow. Yeah. Shout out to them. All right. Well, those are six things that are trending here at the end of this week. We are back on Monday with a whole ass episode of the show.
