What I really want. All right. Well, I'm Jack. You are Miles. These are some of the things that are trending. Today is Mental Health Awareness Day, API Heritage Month. Yeah, it's Mental Health Awareness Month and Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Got it.

Very important topics. I think that the theme for mental health awareness is more about establishing community. Really, overall, just to take the stigma out of taking care of your mental health while also advocating it in your community, like being the kind of person who lets people know, hey man, checking in on people. Do you know about therapy? Have you considered taking any steps towards taking care of your mental health? Very important. And yeah,

Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, I mean, again, yeah, just wanting to celebrate the contributions and the culture of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the country. I didn't realize that the reason that they chose may for it is that it may is like an important month on May 7th. And I believe 1843 is when the first Japanese immigrants came to the United States.

And then May 10th is the completion of the first transcontinental railroad, which was a huge contribution, especially to many Chinese laborers. Yeah. You know, very, very important things going down. So get familiar and please get familiar with your mental health. Yeah.

Therapy. Can't recommend it enough. Have you heard of this stuff? Therapy? Oh, yeah. I went to therapy this morning. Do you dress up for Zoom therapy? This is what I wore.

You're doing it over Zoom, yeah? I did take a shower before to kind of look look fresh look like i had my shit together and like i didn't just roll out of bed which i kind of had oh man i don't think my therapist ever saw me like fully present myself in a respectable way on zoom i was just always like i'm up let's let's tackle the day uh i feel like i should have put a suit on but you know what we worked through it thank you yeah i'm i'm constantly fighting the urge to be like yeah no it's good it's good everything's great it's like wait this is therapy like that's not helpful yeah no no no everything's great we're we're happy uh everything's everything's happy and good uh how are you yeah i want to hear more about your problem uh treat your therapist like the homie who you're afraid to ask if you're too high and if you're freaking them out.

And won't judge you for it. That's the kind of energy you need to have in therapy. Don't put that other shit out your head. Be like, no, this is the one person you can be like, yo, am I being fucking weird? No, you're good. You're good. Andre 3000 is trending because andre 3000 is always trending anytime someone asks to name your top five to name your top three and in this case someone said name a

rapper that has a strong argument for being the greatest of all time but they're never mentioned in the conversation and there it is there it is i mean i think. I think that's a great answer to that. Although I do feel like he is often mentioned in the conversation. It's weird. Whenever they talk about MCs it always ends like Big Pac

Jay, Eminem and then some other person in there. They always conceive of, when they have these sort of not debates or whatever, when these topics come up, they're thinking of people who are battle rap style, people who can just torch you with their words

and are great rappers. And Andre, he was an artist with it. And I think that's where people kind of forget is that what he's doing is so much, he's very so creative with his lyrics that I don't know, for whatever reason, people aren't like putting that next to being like, okay, well, can you go bar for bar with this rapper when he's giving us something very different? I think because of that, that there's a reason why he stands out. definitely top five maybe top three for me he features on a lot of tracks now and like hasn't released a solo project since hey yeah like since uh you know the love below really so i think that like a lot of his work is being done on tracks that like aren't immediately huge or like don't immediately come to people's minds but his his features are so great still to this day.

And also, you think of how he presents himself, too. He doesn't dress like other rappers. He has his own swag. And I think that art visually even took people out of... They just visually respond to that and be like, this is something else. Here are the rappers. Then there's Andre.

Yeah. And I think, you know, because he's just you know he's he's he's unique um and some of the other people that were trending along with that uh lauren hill missy elliott you know other big people sly stallone another one of my favorite mcs uh is out here trending because Paramount Plus has dropped a sneak peek of Taylor Sheridan, the guy behind Yellowstone and Mayor of Kingstown, which I've heard good things about,

and 1883, which I think is a Yellowstone prequel. But he also made Hell or High Water. And I guess they just dropped a sneak peek of a New York mafia mafia show um called tulsa king starring arnold schwarzenegger nope it's last alone it is last alone that's why his name is trending he's like a mafia coppo who has to like put a new crew together from nothing or something uh-oh so he's like rebuilding a criminal organization I think is like the thrust of the series.

So the premise of MacGruber but with straight face. I feel like this show could potentially give us some great memes of Stallone as like mob capo. We're going to get some weird lines out of him and I'm going to be like

just capture that three second thing and now we have a sound bite yeah give it to me you're looking good though yeah and you said they dropped a sneak peek like a trailer or what are we talking here no it was just from what i saw it was just it's just a static image just him in the streets of new york looking off like being like this might go type energy you know very very predictable visual marketing for a lot of mob bots a lot of don't i got rights energy coming out of this uh little confused too like he's in the shoe like what hey my boss don't i got rights um all right let's take

sure and i remember last week we were like wait hold on matrix truman show inception yeah it was being covered and like pitched uh around when people talked about it like because people are excited because of the cast and because it's her first movie since um book smart and that was like smash hit this is her you know blank check project people were like yeah it's like a period piece about and people were like you know thought it was gonna be just a 60s love story type thing and uh i don't know and then and then she mentioned at cinecon like she also was inspired by moves like matrix inception truman show and the uh trailer really delivers on on those influences oh yeah in a fun oh yeah it's uh i'm very intrigued yeah so keep an eye out for that trailer they kept in that one shot of him going down on florence pew though they really that was

that was a moment in the trailer yeah there's like like uh harrison styles in this appears to kind of have the presence of like a drug that is like really hard to resist like he because like she's aware that like some shit's going on and he's like no no no no no no no no but then yeah that's mixed in with scenes of and yeah chris pine too freaking me the fuck out without his role in that he looks like a spooky motherfucker in that film. He doesn't look altogether human. Like he has, you know. Something uncanny. There's a perfection to him that like if somebody was like, ah, we got you.

Chris Pine was a computer generated like thing. Come on. His name was Chris Pine. That was like. We just were looking. Just totally fucking threw shit at the wall. Yeah. But yeah, this looks like an interesting turn from him as like the head of this project that might have nefarious ends.

Anyway. Yeah. So there's another one of these revelations that just comes trickling out just in time for the book to hit the shelf and not in time for our civilization. and not in time for our civilization. But this one is from former Defense Secretary Mark Esper, and he's charging in a memoir out May 10th that former President Trump said when demonstrators were filling the streets around the White House following the death of George Floyd,

can't you just shoot them? Just shoot them in the legs or something. So, yeah, that's's yeah he the way he describes this that moment was quote surreal sitting in front of the resolute desk inside the oval office with this idea weighing heavily in the air and the president red-faced and complaining loudly about the protests underway in washington dc uh the good news this wasn't a difficult decision as per continues the bad news i had to figure out a way to walk trump back without creating the mess i was trying

to avoid jesus but again like that that does feel like one of those things where you're like hey media like at the time the day it happens maybe right like as everyone like kind of got the sense that he was probably saying that behind the scenes like that might be the time when you come out and be like this is exactly what he said yeah and i can see like where esper's position he's like okay i can talk him out of it right do i sit on this then just be shown the door just for some sycophant to come in that will probably do whatever because as we saw like with a lot of the people going to the department of defense or the pentagon remember at the end of december we're like what the fuck are these weird appointments at dod in the pentagon that

was all part to slow up the national guard response on january 6th so there's a lot i mean it this shit it's so fucking wild that's why like i know they're the january 6th committee says june there will be these hearings and your face will melt off when you hear everything i'm like i think most people have assumed what you're gonna say but now it's okay if that then what right right that's the i guess now that true you know i guess biden really was presidential with the shoot him in the leg thing biden was remember leg 2020 lacey mosley pointing out like this is the whole like idea of like uh maybe they can shoot him somewhere like not lethal in the leg or something right right right right this was yeah and people are just like yeah and then finally uh one word trending in America and all our minds, and that is Axl. As in Rose.

Yeah. From Guns N' Roses, I probably have to remind you. It's been a while. Yeah, it's been a moment. It's been a while. Which is not one of their songs. Good point. So Axl Rose came out during carrie underwood's

stagecoach set and sang paradise city kind of and a couple other ones yeah um should we play a little clip of you hearing him yeah i mean sure she like what what you hear what you hear is like her doing a great job of singing it. Right. Yeah. Okay. This is her. Come on, Axel. Uh-huh. So. Okay. So he did some. He did some parts of that. He did some he did some parts of that some there was parts too where you know he where he has to kind of do that like 1990 axel when he has to get in that bag where he's like yeah

like he can't really it's that shit ain't there it's just not hitting anymore no no it's the timbre is there he's like that's there you're like oh that's axl but he's a little bit he's a little pitchy uh as a vocal coach might say my really cool older cousin um like when i was real into guns and roses to the point that i would go to sam goody like multiple times a week to see if a new uh single dropped after Use Your Illusion. I also wasn't allowed to buy their albums because I was young and

they had the parental advisory thing on them. Around that time, my cousin was a Guns N' Roses head. He would go see them in concert a lot. I couldn't believe his luck and my luck

to get to talk to him about it. He was always like, yeah, it was another... It was good. Axl's voice wasn't really there this time. Axl had lost his voice. I think he's always struggled

with the fact that his singing style appears to be, like, is the voice that most people make when they try and imitate cats fighting each other. And that's not good for the old vocals. No. When it's all in your throat like that, you're not really protected from your diaphragm. I can't even do it. Yeah, there it is is i can only do that maybe for like five minutes and then by the end of it i'm like

yeah um please take me home no it's it's hard it's hard it's hard at the end of the day i think it kind of reminded me of the wrestler yeah like when mickey rourke the mickey rourke film uh aronofsky film like that was kind of his energy up there was like have you ever seen a one trick pony there's also a like a look and he's like doing dance moves that suggest something less like uh tragically heroic and more older 50-something guy at a Carrie Underwood concert. And yeah, there's an eagerness there that used to not be part of Axl Rose's whole vibe.

But I don't fault him for that. I think it's great that he's getting out there. Yeah, do you? And not having any compunction about Carrie Underwood showing... So this is what this song would sound like if somebody who

could sing sang it live. And she crushes it, which is not a thing that I've... That is the first footage of a live Carrie Underwood performance that I've ever seen. So I thank him for that. Maybe he's like, I gotta big up this kid, this young up-and-comer, Carrie Underwood.
