Starting point is 00:02:01 Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of john fetter trend oh um yeah that's right talking about the oz killer himself who is up 10 points in that race yeah but he has a bong for a head or whatever this new hat is it's really fucking sad i was put an ad out where he photoshopped the bong on his head oh yeah maybe we'll talk about it but we'll talk about that race how do we highlight one of the cooler things about our opponent i'll show you this ad and you're gonna fucking cry you're gonna cry because it's just like oh no i mean everything about that ad uh about that campaign has just made that man look like such a fool uh dude well because he's like so bad and it honestly makes me feel like his kids are like
Starting point is 00:02:52 mom dad's shit posting again and it's just like doing his campaign in so i'm like yeah man yeah go ahead yeah it's a terrible look better man actually looks kind of like a dude i would hang out with based on that quote unquote attack ad. Fuck you. Should we just look at this? You want to see this ad really quick?
Starting point is 00:03:09 We're talking about it. It's trending. Everything like I've seen so many bad photoshops from the Dr. Oz campaign that I don't. Oh, OK. It's a it's a moving picture one.
Starting point is 00:03:21 Oh, it's an attack fucking ad, Jack. Now tell me if you'd vote for this fucking guy. Did you ever know that the movies are called that because they're talkies and then movies? Yeah. Pretty dumb. Alright.
Starting point is 00:03:36 We're a pretty dumb species. We're going to look at this John Fetterman. Now that John Fetterman claims to be recovering, let's pull back his hoodie. He's got a hoodie? Oh, cool. Okay, what's that?
Starting point is 00:03:46 Oh. A bomb? It's a bomb? All right. Hell yeah. Open the jails. Free them. Spend more tax dollars?
Starting point is 00:04:07 Yo. that's nuts spend more tax dollars energy production gas prices will skyrocket that's ridiculous yo socialized medicine got aoc holding the banners let's be healthcare now bernie he's obsessed with bernie i like how now it makes it that bernie says it's medicare for all spend free release prisoners You're like, yeah, yeah. John Fetterman is crazier than you think. Oh, with googly eyes. John Fetterman is crazier than you think. All right. Bodied him with that one.
Starting point is 00:04:36 What did you say the polling's at right now? He's down 10. Yeah, well. Hey, you never know. Well, he was down 10 until that ad dropped. Yeah, now he's down 30 ready that they just open they open with like five straight seconds of dead air just so people's eyes can take in like the screws coming out of his head and the bong coming out of his head
Starting point is 00:05:01 and then they go what's this i feel like it's like his head opens up what a weirdo his head has like a top on it that can come untopped it opens up like some wacky opening to monty python whoa uh i don't know what the fuck is going on there but it like I'm trying to yeah yeah for sure I'm just trying to but who is like this like the logic of that attack ad appealing to I feel like who is like the bad guy
Starting point is 00:05:36 in police academy Mouser was it Mouser or Harris it was Mous, then Harris. Yeah, the one who was always like, damn you, Lessard. It's that guy. That cop would be like, this guy's got
Starting point is 00:05:53 screws loose and bong head. Like, what the fuck? Screws loose and bong head. Okay. It's wild, man. Anyways, shout out to Dr. Ozz shout out to the fucking consulting agency who just took absolutely took dr oz to the bath producing that ad yeah man it's cost like fucking 600 000 man that is yeah like he's yeah he's he's got the best consultants money can buy oh yeah anyways
Starting point is 00:06:26 let's see 14 fbi what's what's going on what's what's that okay i mean because what about fest 2022 is in full fucking effect uh but jim jordan is now saying like to kind of be like yeah man you know like the fucking fbi is fucked up and corrupt. He's claiming he's like, I've spoken to four agents now. I mean, 14 FBI agents that want to be whistleblowers. They've come to me as whistleblowers
Starting point is 00:06:55 to talk about the, quote, political nature now of the Justice Department. Oh, okay. Well, they should do that, then. Yeah. Let us know, man. I don't trust the FBI. Let them tell us what's going on. Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:07:11 I mean, again, it's always funny that the people who have been under investigation are like the loudest people like Matt Gaetz or Jim Jordan, who many people are like, what happened when you were at Ohio State University? Because there's a lot of terrible allegations about you silencing victims or like turning the other way when other people were uh assaulted allegedly so i don't know it's a it's an interesting time that those are the people that come to your defense but that is a pretty fucking desperate move to be like oh yeah well i know 14 fbi agents let's say like it's so bad where are they and are they actually filing a whistleblower complaint?
Starting point is 00:07:45 Or are you just lying so you can get on Tucker Carlson? Passports. Trending. That's because Donald Trump truthed on his proprietary. How is he allowed to get away with... This shit is straight up cloned. When you look at a screen cap of a tweet on his platform,
Starting point is 00:08:09 it is the same font, the same kerning, the same spacing, everything. It's pay less fucking Twitter, and they had to convince Trump. He's like, yeah, we have Twitter at home. You use this now. Use this on your Fisher-Price play phone. Yep, it's called Truth.
Starting point is 00:08:26 And it's even, he kept the same username? That's wild. I know, like, even on his own shit, he's got to be at real Donald? At real Donald Trump? Yeah. You could have been at Jack if you wanted to. And Elon Musk is a ho.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Like, what? So he Truthed, Wow! Ex exclamation point in the raid by the fbi on mar-a-lago they stole my three passports one expired along with anything else i'm sorry uh you okay let me just do the quick maths three passports one is expired so you have two valid passports yeah are you a dual citizen? I mean, he's a billionaire. Yeah, like what's a sham passport you can get? Like Luxembourg or something?
Starting point is 00:09:11 Yeah, there are countries that will allow you to buy citizenship. I forget what they are. I mean, most countries, too. They're like, hey, man, if you put enough money on the soil here, we'll give you whatever you fucking want. But yeah. Three passports which i mean that is kind of a big deal if they're making it so he can't leave the country right if that's the case yeah i mean i think with a lot of the speculation is like what kind of documents are the most valuable as president it's like the
Starting point is 00:09:42 one thing they talked about was documents that potentially talked about like fucking informants that are on the cia payroll like abroad i'm sure some governments may want to know about that and that might be worth something along with like other defense things who knows but i mean you figure like if you're if you have like one more hand to play as somebody who has like documents that are this valuable it might be to be like how the fuck do i smoke bomb out of the u.s and if if it gets that bad like because i'm not gonna look at a jail ever not even on my phone i mean i think he plans to stay here and try and lead like some sort of violent something or other yeah it would seem to be
Starting point is 00:10:22 because he goes on to say this is an assault on a political opponent at a level never seen before in our country third world exclamation point so that this again continues the thing that it's biden going against him in the election already basically yeah and it's it's tough that like all you can do is try and motivate a group of people who aren't very informed because all they do like if you see like i was watching a few like live streams of like maga and phone because i was just like i need to see what the fuck people are talking about and the everyone does the same thing like they just say the same five things everyone else is talking but can't then like for their viewers be like this
Starting point is 00:11:05 is third world stuff now what does that mean they just go third world they basically appropriated the dumbest talking points from russiagate and yeah using those now exactly and they're they're struggling with it but i'm sure like you'll hear in tomorrow's episode the rhetoric's gonna get even more fiery and you know we'll see if it becomes completely out of control. But as of now, only a couple of FBI offices have had people traipsing around with guns out front.
Starting point is 00:11:34 Yeah, didn't they have to kill someone in Cincinnati at one point? The dude, yeah, he attacked the thing and then he was mortally injured in his standoff with the FBI. And then again, a lot of the people in MAGA world were like, it's a false flag. Why would he bring a nail gun?
Starting point is 00:11:51 This guy was a very prolific user on Truth and a lot of other right-wing social media platforms. People were like, this guy is kind of weird, huh? Why would he bring a nail gun? Come on, man. Come on, he was just talking about it stupid non-stop for the last three weeks you guys know him yeah it's here you are having a conversation with a false flag yeah right and and i say that today on today's episode you know like there's
Starting point is 00:12:17 there's this like weird disconnect we're like on one level these people are like yeah i'm built for this i'm about it about it like I'm a no-limit soldier. But there's also a part that's very American and used to creature comforts. And I think part of the American psyche is not really well adapted to chaos or lack of infrastructure.
Starting point is 00:12:37 If he keeps down this path and this leads to some sort of armed violent revolution, I think it will be similarly unsuccessful and disorganized like the January 6th one. Yeah, but I think the scary thing is there are plenty of people who are outraged and armed and think they have some kind of plan.
Starting point is 00:13:00 So it's just very uncertain at the moment and i'm sure like with law and for the doj is like we've never had this many threats before yeah um being like oh really because y'all were acting like blm activists and people just like chanting like equality or like fucking public enemy number one right um but hey you know it's nighttime for a new group all right let's Let's take a quick break. We'll be right back. I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult. I'm Keri Champion, and this is Season 4 of Naked Sports, where we live at the intersection of sports and culture. Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry, Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese.
Starting point is 00:15:49 I know I'll go down in history. People are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game. Every great player needs a foil. I ain't really near them boys. I just come here to play basketball every single day, and that's what I focus on. From college to the pros, Clark and Reese have changed the way
Starting point is 00:16:02 we consume women's sports. Angel Reese is a joy to watch. She is unapologetically black. I love her. What exactly ignited this fire? Why has it been so good for the game? And can the fanfare surrounding these two supernovas be sustained? This game is only going to get better because the talent is getting better.
Starting point is 00:16:22 This new season will cover all things sports and culture. Listen to Naked Sports on the Black Effect Podcast Network, iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Black Effect Podcast Network is sponsored by Diet Coke. When you think of Mexican culture, you think of avocado, mariachi, delicious cuisine, and of course, lucha libre. It doesn't get more Mexican than this. Starting point is 00:16:51 entertainment. Lucha Libre is a type of storytelling. It's a dance. It's tradition. It's culture. We'll learn more about some of the most iconic heroes in the ring this is lucha libre behind the mask listen to lucha libre behind the mask as part of my cultura
Starting point is 00:17:31 podcast network on the iheart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you stream podcasts and we're back and georgia is trending because a federal judge rejected Senator Lindsey Graham's effort to evade testimony. And prosecutors told Rudy Giuliani that he's a, quote, target in the investigation. Oh, he said target in the investigation. Oh, Rudy. I'm sure he's going to be out there uh spray painted head and all being like i got legal bills man just like peter navarro did uh but i don't think anyone's gonna care because trump's already trying to fundraise off of the mar-a-lago raid like a fucking bat out of hell
Starting point is 00:18:20 so yeah i mean it's a lot of a lot of things happening a lot of l's seeming else uh you read in the headlines that's why i'm always like oh really okay let's see something right what comes of that but it looks like the like false elector slate is also ramping up energy uh because a lot of people talk about scott perry's phone being seized last week and how that shows that doj is maybe looking at that whole little uh right because they broke a bunch of laws like blatantly yeah yeah because of the crimes they committed yeah and it's wild how much i've internalized the lack of a functioning like uh justice system in this country i'm like well man but only some people fucking actually go to jail and it's usually not people that look like that so even when i see it I'm like, well, man, only some people fucking actually go to jail, and it's usually
Starting point is 00:19:07 not people that look like that. So even when I see it, I'm like, yeah, I don't know. I don't necessarily know that anything's going to happen, but it is wild how people are now pointing to this to indicate that they might be going after all the crimes we know
Starting point is 00:19:23 they committed because they did them in public. And they might. I don't know, but I've been socialized to be like, it might be bad. Right. But I don't know. But you know what's really bad? Poor people stealing shit. Alright. Up next,
Starting point is 00:19:40 Capri Sun is trending. I read this trending story with a sinking heart. Yeah. Recall. Recall because 5,760 cases of Capri Sun might have been contaminated with a cleaning solution used at one of their production plants,
Starting point is 00:19:58 which could have gotten into the product. Wild cherry flavor, folks. If you got wild cherry. I know. I was just going to say, I recently consumed a capri sun for the first time in 30 years uh holy shit yeah did you feel like you were time like yesterday um yeah a little bit pretty or did you turn into that meme uh from saving private ryan or like you like it's like matt damon aging into the old years yeah you're like just keep saying earn this over and over again
Starting point is 00:20:30 but yeah it tastes great your kids fucking with capri sun we just had some leftovers in the fridge but we never let our kids like drink shit like that we had it like from i don't know if it was like a party yeah yeah where it was from but that was my favorite because like my mom definitely was like you're not drinking soda and shit but like as a kid like i'd find shit from my birthday party like eight months earlier that my mom didn't throw away and i'm like yo what's this shit i had i i turned into edgar from men in black or like the the bug-based alien when i got covid i was so hungry for sugar man like all of a sudden like i i was drinking capri suns finding candy in the back of the drawer i was just like i don't like regressing you're like yeah i don't know yeah what was your
Starting point is 00:21:23 what was the worst symptom i don't knowcoming a little kid who wanted to eat candy all the time. Kind of weird. I don't know. Anyways, hopefully you didn't drink a cleaning solution laden pouch of
Starting point is 00:21:39 Capri Sun. If you did, let us know what it was like. Let us know what was the flavor. They said the reason they found out was because people were like it tastes a little windexy or something start turning into the robot from superman 3 uh and finally soup is trending yeah finally but most importantly yes uh super is trending so on friday someone quote what's the best soup and gave a number of different options 12 options are you ready tomato chicken noodle clam chowder minestrone uh french onion broccoli cheddar matzo ball a wonton tortilla lobster bisque phque, pho, and lentil.
Starting point is 00:22:27 Wow. We need to class that one up. Yeah, lentil. Off the top, are you having conflicts, or does one already jump out to you? I mean... Best soups. I've got three or four here that I'm kind of just depending on the mood
Starting point is 00:22:44 I'm fucking with heavy compared to the others yeah like chicken noodle might on any other day but like that is i've been ivy dripping chicken noodle for the past three days so i'm tired of that shit french onion i love i love a i love a big thick skin of cheese on top. That just burns your fucking mouth on contact. Oh, man. I never learned my lesson with a French onion soup. It comes out, and I'm like, here's that gooey Gruyere top with a piece of bread. And then I'm like, my throat is seared because I swallowed a fucking molten ball of cheese.
Starting point is 00:23:20 But I love it. And pho, I really like. Broccoli cheddar, I really like. and i really like lentil a lot i like lentil like of the healthy ones that are like a type of soup that you can find in a grocery store um lentil is probably my my favorite of the bunch see i have problems with some of the ones that are less traditionally soupy. I feel like pho, wonton soup, ramen, udon, that's like a noodle soup. Yeah, ramen should be on here. Also, too, I think of a soup as the thing I drink fucking everything in, too.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Sometimes the broth can be too salty in a noodle soup because it kind of just flavors it but i love also like i do get those cravings for me it's a tie between lobster bisque and clam chowder so those are both great answers you are thinking of the best version of that that you've ever had in both cases i'm thinking of like when i say what's the best soup i'm thinking what's that soup i've had that i'm like oh i fucking love that lobster bisque from hamburger hamlet okay yeah yeah yeah those probably are the highest highs they're they're definitely up there when i'm thinking of soup though i am thinking of something i can pull out of the cupboard
Starting point is 00:24:45 with a can over there. Yeah, yeah. Then I love a lentil soup. Yeah, lentil with some hot sauce. It's hard. I feel like when you look at these, I'm like, these all fucking bang on their own. They do.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Tomato soup, I see that as, you got to have that with a good grilled cheese. I love that. Is there one on here that you don't fuck with? Minestrone for me? Never, never seen it. Minestrone, yeah, I could go either way. I've never been there for it.
Starting point is 00:25:13 When matzo balls aren't really seasoned well, I can be a little bit. Be a little bland. Be a little bland for me. Yeah. And also, dude, honestly, a bad tortilla soup is fucking vile. Really bad. And I just had a bad tortilla soup is fucking vile really bad and i just had a bad tortilla you did oh my god there are ones where you're like this i don't know if i have to call
Starting point is 00:25:29 like the un or something this was fucked up what you just did and called that tortilla soup like i think you just boiled a couple corn tortillas with salt a piece of tomato and put it's like falling apart the tortilla chip things in there come on get out of here of here. Oh, man. Get out of here with that shit. Okay, of all these soups, can you think of a very specific soup that you said the best of one of these I had at this place at this time? I can think of places in New York
Starting point is 00:25:54 where I had a French onion that was just great. Odeon? Yeah, I don't know. I don't remember restaurants like that. I remember where I saw every movie. I have great recall for movies and movie theaters and nothing about restaurants and for me like useless the best
Starting point is 00:26:11 broccoli cheddar i had was on the at the subway at the sherman oaks galleria yeah i mean sometimes they get it right you know oh yeah mean, broccoli cheddar is one of those two where I don't expect it to ever be natural. Just give me nacho cheese with green flex in it. That's what it is. That's what it was meant to be. Alright.
Starting point is 00:26:37 Let us know. Sound off. Let us know if they missed anything. Don't just give us your opinions. That's for us to give to you. One way street here. Let us know soup that should have been on this list. Best soup. Also, what's the best soup in your local town?
Starting point is 00:26:55 Let me know. Yeah, yeah. Alright. Those are things that are trending on this Monday. August 15th. We are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves.
Starting point is 00:27:10 Get the vaccine. Yes. Get the booster. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. No. And we will talk to you all tomorrow. Bye. Bye.
