Hello, the Internet, and welcome to this episode of just two trend boys in a zyde-a-lack oh uh that is courtesy of brian jeffries if not brian uh hit us up in the chat and let us know who it's from uh otherwise we will assume it is from the beautiful mind of brian jeffries sprouted like a flower oh man it's a me brian's hitting us with that that wonderful dungeon family energy i'm jack you are miles uh it's our first trending episode back in 2022 uh and smell that yeah that's the good shit well uh let's tell the people what's
Starting point is 00:02:44 trending shall we yeah water is trending have you heard about this stuff you've seen this wow uh yeah it's trending because people people have been basically claiming that you know you can use water on a rapid like test and get like these false positives they're like man these things are just gonna tell you you're sick man it's all false positives and they're like the makers of it are like yeah it has nothing to do with you putting water you're not you're supposed to use your fucking saliva like your nasal fluids that's what it's testing for so when you introduce other liquids it it's not testing for anything it just fails to function as a test for covid it It's not saying that the, so then that led people to be like,
Starting point is 00:03:25 you see, man, it's either the tests don't work or there's COVID in the water. Um, so I feel like this is, this is a very American. First of all, we don't trust water.
Starting point is 00:03:36 We think, you know, we'd rather be drinking Gatorade or some other beverage with corn syrup in it. And this is also a conspiracy that allows you to go back to work which i feel like is very american it's like i don't really have this shit come on i'm gonna i'm gonna work i feel like you know we're corporations to come up with a conspiracy now i'm not saying that that's what happened but i feel like a lot of times the american populace behaves in such a way that we might as well be doing what they'd like us to do that they're like nah i mean look at this though you can't
Starting point is 00:04:11 trust those tests you don't have covet get back out there chief it's this is just so weird i don't even understand like everyone's like it's in the water it doesn't because this has been happening all over the world like it's not i mean in america it's obviously taken up its own energy but a lot of people were just being like it's weird i put water on it and so anyway good use of your very precious test that yeah exactly everybody's like fighting and clambering for i was just doing a little experiment um yeah just yeah this is a very piece of sensitive diagnostic equipment i'm just gonna pour fucking hose water on it yeah you can't jump to conclusions can't trust anything the internet
Starting point is 00:04:50 tells you because when i dip my computer in water it fucking turns off and so yeah you know i think we need to i think we need a congressional hearing on this water stuff thank you tim kane is trending he revealed that he was one of the drivers who had been trapped for more than 12 hours in the snow on I-95 in Virginia. I think there are people who were trapped longer than that, like 24 hours. But I-95, if you're not from the East Coast, that is like the main artery up and down the East coast. And it was passing through Virginia as a snowstorm was passing through Virginia and, uh,
Starting point is 00:05:30 places that far South don't tend to know what to do with a lot of snow in my experience. But the last time we heard something like this was an ice storm, uh, in Atlanta that had people trapped. Oh, I remember that. What was that? 2012 or some shit yeah that was like days it might not be the last time it just that that's what i evoked in my extremely faulty brain so anyways uh you know shout out to anybody out there who is still stuck
Starting point is 00:06:00 uh or was stuck and hopefully everybody gets home safe yeah wild wild ass weather over the over the break there's like the the tweets from the people in the fucking like traffic jam are kind of funny to me like it's all just like really humorous this one person tweeted trapped on the i-95 and a guy bangs on my window saying we're all gathering around a dude with a phone 10 cars ahead to watch matrix reloaded that's awesome i'm like sitting here being like are they gonna like you know be melting snow for water and uh probably i mean that that would be i i'm sure i wouldn't necessarily always be traveling with a bunch of water but maybe maybe people shared their their water right uh had one of those water trucks that they just opened up
Starting point is 00:06:47 like in Fury Road and just closed people down. There's also one like, yeah, there's also I see like tweets from like truckers who are like, hey, I'm a trucker. If you're on I-95, like, you know, try and hit truckers up like we carry food and water like if you need something. Oh, that's dope. So, yeah, but it's just interesting to see how much Twitter becomes like this other you know uh organizing tool yeah yeah things are bad things are bad it is also very tim kaine to for him to be like stuck on i don't know that just seems right
Starting point is 00:07:18 to me but he's on like one of the most uh trafficked roadways in his state right yeah yeah um oh my god that's big tim kane energy if i ever yeah he's like i'm been stuck here for 12 hours and people are being really mean to me or not i feel like he would get bullied in like a state of nature like just pushed around yeah he becomes correcting people's spanish pronunciation yeah atlas shrugged is trending because um people spotted it i think i think actually he referenced it called it out as one of his favorite books uh one one of my favorite uh philosophers and thought leaders aaron rogers uh oh my god interviewed on uh so peyton manning and eli manning do a like simultaneous broadcast of Monday night football,
Starting point is 00:08:09 where it's just them kind of shooting the shit. It's like a podcast overlaying the Monday night football game. But you know, I think a lot of people watch it because Peyton Manning is really good at, you know, he's like one of the good eye. It seems like got a good eye, understands the
Starting point is 00:08:25 game turns out um and eli manning's just like a lovable doof uh right but uh so they had they have guests every once in a while and uh aaron rogers came on and uh you know he talked about how atlas shrugged uh is one of his favorite books and uh it just explains a lot you know it explains that's like yeah it feels like when do you think he actually read it or he's doing that thing where like you gotta lie about reading like seminal texts to the culture he thinks you think he didn't read it no this is what brian just put in the chat he said he actually did not read it this is what brian just put in the chat he said he actually did not read it he went on the pat mcafee show i was like i actually have never even read it ah and then just openly fucking with people mcafee added oh that's awesome yeah that is
Starting point is 00:09:16 funny that's but you did read mind camp right oh yeah i loved every fucking word one of the best one of the greats it's like huh right, let's take a quick break. We'll be right back. I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult.
Starting point is 00:09:39 And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And we're the host of the new podcast Forgive Me For I Have Followed. Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films and LA-based Shekinah Church, an alleged cult that has impacted members for over two decades. Jessica and I will delve into the hidden truths between high-control groups and interview dancers,
Starting point is 00:10:02 church members, and others whose lives and careers have been impacted, just like mine. Through powerful, in-depth interviews with former members and new, chilling firsthand accounts, the series will illuminate untold and extremely necessary perspectives. Forgive Me For I Have Followed will be more than an exploration. It's a vital revelation aimed at ensuring these types of abuses never happen again. Starting point is 00:10:32 Hey, I'm Gianna Pradente. And I'm Jemay Jackson-Gadsden. We're the hosts of Let's Talk Offline, a new podcast from LinkedIn News and iHeart Podcasts. And if we don't know the answer, we bring in experts who do, like resume specialist Morgan Sanner. The only difference between the person who doesn't get the job and the person who gets
Starting point is 00:11:09 the job is usually who applies. Yeah, I think a lot about that quote. What is it like you miss 100% of the shots you never take? Yeah, rejection is scary, but it's better than you rejecting yourself. Together, we'll share what it really takes to thrive in the early years of your career without sacrificing your sanity or sleep. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not. What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it.
Starting point is 00:12:07 That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything? You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm.

Starting point is 00:13:29 and we're back uh and elmo trending. Why? What's happening? There's a clip of, you know, I'll just play the clip because people are just loving this viral clip of little Elmy asking for a oatmeal cookie. That's Elmo's favorite. Oh, Gabby, can Elmo have an oatmeal raisin cookie instead, please? Oh, gee, Elmo, that was my last one. Oh, that's okay, Gabby. Elmo will just take this one. No, no, no, wait, wait, Elmo.
Starting point is 00:14:10 What? Rocco says that he wants the oatmeal raisin cookie. Rocco? Rocco's a rock, Zoe. Rocco won't know the difference. Yes, he will. You can't have that cookie, Elmo. Rocco wants to eat it. How? How is Rocco going to eat that cookie, Zoe? Tell wants to eat it how how is rocko gonna eat that cookie zoe tell elmo rocko doesn't even have a mouth rocko's just a rat rocko's not alive wow damn fool yeah so you know just just ride for that cookie you know what i mean yeah that's that's it's always uh yeah i'm
Starting point is 00:14:46 it's this is just uh it's just a wonderful wonderful moment of uh him going after rocco yeah that that feels very much like like we're almost able to improvise a performance uh i feel like that i don't know that feels very authentic to me yeah well that like an adult like snapping on their kid right right right exactly he's a rat like what do you even do in my mouth right anyway that's it's it's one of a a number of clips of elmo but yet becca's listing here that it's in tandem with a conversation on tiktok about elmo's origins oh okay mm-hmm mm oh okay cool million is trending because uh there are a million new covid cases in the u.s today uh global record it's more covid a million new cases today what the fuck uh sorry i'm old and i'm jay-z brained uh but when i see a million that's all i can think of global record a milli a milli um yeah or that too yeah we did it yeah yeah depend on
Starting point is 00:15:52 which it's flavor of old you are frightening how much it's exploded you know what i mean obviously that's like there's there was a backlog of tests that were sort of factored into this number but that's truly how quickly it's spreading um and you know i think it's just uh we always get these constant reminders like even i know so many people that stayed very safe and then you're still hearing about just i don't know i've i've now more than ever i've heard of more people i know getting covid which is i felt like before wasn't necessarily the case but i think that just shows how transmissible it is yeah it really seems that way and you know uh to this point it seems like hospitalizations have been relatively lower on a like per case basis but
Starting point is 00:16:37 this is again uncharted territory which is very dangerous and well yeah and then like i mean when you just think of you know if if if the overarching tone is like it's mild right among a million positive cases i'm sure many of those are really severe and i and even more if they're not vaccinated yeah and on top of it the crunch of like the economy of like taking out millions of people at a time saying like no they have covid like they're that's not gonna work to have class or school or work or whatever yeah and i just we keep we keep finding ourselves having these tests of like well how do we handle this and a lot of people constantly bring up the idea of like imagine if at the beginning of 2020 they just paid everyone's bills for a month or two and just said, don't fucking leave.
Starting point is 00:17:27 That would be communism, Miles. Yeah, you're right. You're right. You're right. Yeah. It's not great. However, they do have that thing in their back pocket where they're just going to tell people they got their tests too wet and then they can go back to work. Right.
Starting point is 00:17:43 Right. Exactly. So are you just too much water on that thing too much water on there yeah back off my water the beers is trending there's a survey uh i'm resisting the urge to do a the bears uh thing or something about beers uh that's that's the old jack miles i'm mature yeah new leaf rebranding yeah uh and then uh yeah so there's a survey that's been published in bloomberg uh that quote shows that synthetic lab-grown diamonds quote struggle to conjure the same emotions as mind diamonds and debiers uh is the source of this
Starting point is 00:18:28 survey yep the one of the one of the biggest defenders of conflict diamonds used to be now they say now we don't do conflict diamonds and we can track all over we're on the up and up now please don't look into our history don't ask who uh cecil rhodes is if you've ever heard of rhodesia or the colonization of africa anyway zoom out a bit but yeah they're saying don't fucking talk about these synthetic diamonds they're not the same even though they're chemically the same yeah exact same structure except they're able to manufacture it rather than put people at risk and uh you know harm the lives of millions by mining them yeah a woman always knows miles you know that's yeah uh-huh we all
Starting point is 00:19:13 do sixth sense yeah it's it's truly like this like you scratch your head because anyone i've seen lab grown diamonds before and i'm like how the fuck would i know yeah i'm like this shit is blinging yeah and it costs less what the fuck are we doing again because of this like just that's what's wild to watch like a lot of studies too about how you know they've always talked about millennials aren't even buying diamonds anymore it's like yeah because they're not worth anything to us and also like no one has thousands of dollars just to be like yeah there it is yep there's my diamonds for today so why wouldn't you look at something that isn't the same price is shiny to look at uh and doesn't rely on you know in many cases like slave labor to extract like this really feels like it would be something that would get pitched in mad men as like a woman always knows is the like you know a new slogan for the beers
Starting point is 00:20:07 and then like shot down by peggy or something but in in this instance they're just like we'll fund a study that tells people that there's just this ineffable sense that people have uh that the diamond is bullshit and we'll claim it's scientific so bloomberg i'm shocked yeah shocked that that they they they did this hand in hand with the beers one of the great extractors of diamonds in the world okay the beers all right well those are six of the things that are trending uh we are back with a whole ass episode of the show tomorrow. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Get the vaccine.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Stay inside. Wear a fucking mask. Yeah. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we will talk to y'all tomorrow. Bye. Hey, I'm Gianna Pradenti. And I'm Jermaine Jackson-Gadsden.
