Hello! Thanks for having me. Hey, thanks for being here. You have not watched Megan, we established before we started recording. It's one of the great shames in my life right now that I haven't seen. I really do want to. It was one of those ones that I wanted to see in the theaters and it just, it felt like it came and went so quickly. Yeah. It's a blast. It really is a lot of fun and it is trending today because they're unleashing. They're not just releasing. They're unleashing the unrated cut,

which seems to focus on more gore. There is, I'm not going to say which child Megan is not very nice to in the movie but there is a child who you you root for her to kill uh at one point i won't say if she actually killed him but uh so and they show like multiple parts of that scene as the unrated so they're like you're gonna get some real grisly child killing yeah it does seem like there's actually some gory stuff that they cut out of the movie in the script because like remember then there used to be a time when uh dvds would yeah they would be like unrated but it was just because they put in a scene that the mpaa never

saw so it's like technically it was unrated but it's just because no one actually watched it and bothered to rate it no payoff yeah yeah this this seems to be i i can imagine it did not i i was surprised to learn that it was pg-13 so after the fact so they did a good job with the editing uh it implied a lot of things that you don't typically see in a pg-13 film right yeah but yeah yeah i can't wait to watch it now do you do you think based on having seen the original should i wait and watch the unrated one when it comes out i don't think you need to i think it's just fine as is it's a And if I didn't see M1-gen or M2-gen. M2-gen. Can I still watch this? It sounds like a Swedish word, maybe? It sounds like the thing they said in Street Fighter when they'd shoot balls of light out of their hands.

Yeah, no, it really kind of picks up. You don't miss much, Although when you watch M one, get an M two and you really get like the whole story, the whole picture. Right. Yeah. Epic. Epic man.

Um, it is national margarita day. Yay. Love this for Jimmy Buffett. I love this for the margarita announcing itself as a drink. That's not for Catholics. You know, it's because this is Ash Wednesday. I guess you're allowed to drink on Ash Wednesday.

Like Catholics drink during church. So you're probably allowed to. Maybe that's not fully accurate. I just know a lot of Catholics give up the booze for lunch yeah i i don't know that much about catholicism but i can't imagine that like making a blender full of margaritas is would be in the spirit of ash wednesday you put the ashes of dead things on your forehead um yeah what a. How will you be celebrating National Margarita Day?

I guess you could. You could because there is like a sprinkling of salt around the rim. Maybe you just do an ash rim. A margarita with an ash rim. Yeah. That's one way to Catholic it up.

I don't, I'm not going to do anything differently in my life other than the fact that I looked up Jimmy Buffett's Twitter to see what he was saying about it and nothing failure that is unacceptable jimmy buffett's social media manager the only justification i could think of was maybe it's because every day is national margarita day in his life right he doesn't he doesn't discriminate um yeah

was the last time you think he put on socks i bet he's like had to wear shoes at like an event or like flip-flops but socks i i bet he gave up on sometime in the 80s oh totally yeah the man hasn't bought a sock since you know the carter administration yeah uh r.i.p or not yet necessarily i don't know but yeah that that is something that is kind of perpetually trending jimmy carter greatest ex-president pretty shitty president as he was doing it and for all his left wing you know cred was just a regular american president with like i think he invented the delta force and it was a you know right you mean you mean the movie with chuck norris yeah he wrote the script that well he was that's why he wasn't very good he was mainly working on some spec scripts for canon films uh starring chuck norris um all right grand jury four person is trending i mean

it's not where this is a fiction this whole show is a fiction right like we we make up uh phrases that are trending but a thing regarding a grand jury for person is a trending cbs news legal analyst ricky kleinman says it's inappropriate for uh the grand jury for person in the trump georgia investigation like into you know that that seems to be heading down a road of yeah they perjured themselves just like repeatedly constantly the way that other people breathe they perjured themselves um they are now saying that because the grand jury for a person was like talking about it, they're going to try and use that to challenge, throw the whole thing out.

So who knows if that's possible, but I'm always, always get my, my spidey sense starts a tingling anytime it feels like Donald Trump or any white billionaire is going to get away consequence free for doing something blatantly illegal. I mean, what is there is no rule about that. Like jurors. I mean, I don't know if grand juries are different, but like jurors are allowed to after the case is done, discuss it freely. No. Yeah, they are saying she believes it will make no legal difference since Willis will make her own decision and a new grand jury will be seated to issue any indictments. But Coors is prohibited from sharing any information.

Coors is the grand jury. Poor person is prohibited from sharing any information from the special grand jury's deliberation. And she does not appear to have done so. So it's just like, I mean, it very well could be them grasping at straws and just being like, please don't do me to us. So she's, she's allowed to talk about the case as long as she doesn't talk about like the specifics of their deliberations.

Right. And they were like, she's talking. So that could be something. I don't know. Yeah. so that could be something i don't know yeah which is trump's general legal strategy for life is just pointing things out and having his lawyers like file various suits uh regarding that motion yeah all right let's take a quick break we'll come back with some pedro pascal appreciation

There was like a, what if he was in a different video game adaptation for, say, Mario Kart? Sketch that was solid. And I just watched his monologue.

that was solid and i just watched his monologue and it really feels like one of those monologues that they were just like wow like just being in a room with him is cool let's just yeah the thing that the story that he just told what if he just did that because it's just like a story from his week, uh, that you get the sense that he, uh, just charmed the pants off every human being in 30 rock. And they were like, could you just like get up there and talk in a beautiful purple shirt? Yeah, totally. He's,

he's so charming. And I love it when they do monologues where it's just like chatting or telling stories. It's like, it's somewhere in between like doing a, a big gimmick thing, like a musical number or having, sometimes they have standups come out and then someone like hands them a microphone and you're like,

Oh, they're just going to do their routine. Yeah. But he just comes out and talks and he's, yeah. Like you said, completely charming and, and funny and yeah.

Yeah. Everybody loves him. And he's been around for so long., completely charming and funny. Yeah. Yeah, everybody loves him. And he's been around for so long. I saw someone said the other day he was in an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Wow. That's how long he's been doing this. That's an old-ass show. Yeah.

Apparently. So he's trending currently because one of the directors on The Last of Us said he wept during his emotional scenes and even when he wasn't filming and just like when he was driving on to set he was weeping i think i think what he's describing is uh he's going through something maybe emotionally he just needs help yeah uh this guy's always crying it's amazing i mean you can't tell but also in the mandalorian he's always crying behind the helmet weeping openly the whole time i mean you can't tell but also in the mandalorian he's always crying behind the helmet weeping openly the whole time i mean that makes sense it's such a yeah it's such a

harrowing show seems appropriate for the for the show but i guess it's like yeah for like if they're doing a two shot with another actor a lesser actor would you know be in his trailer while the pedro pascal stand-in comes in and does the scene but not only does he do the scene but he like brings his a-game and actually cries because he's a pro yeah yeah i think it's probably very helpful for the person acting opposite to have the actual actor there bring the a-game even when they're not on camera totally i also was just served a march 2019 video of him and oscar isaac reading like some phrases that are googled alongside their names um so they're they're old pals apparently and yeah pedro pascal seemed like a little drunk like not necessarily

like he was drunk but like he was you know that like sometimes when you're like a little hungover and still a little drunk and you have a fun energy about you that's kind of the vibe i got from the video but the the algorithm it's not just what's trending because of the news it's also what's trending the algorithm knows the people crave pedro pascal so they're just serving it up i was i think i was watching nba highlights for uh miles and jack got mad boosties. And it was just like, you know what you probably want to see? Pedro Pascal and Oscar Isaac from four years ago talking to one another. And they were right. The algorithm was right. Yeah, the algorithm was exactly right. Favorite Pedro Pascal performance for you. What are you going with? I don't know.

I mean, I'm not a huge game of thrones fan but i do remember like when he showed up in that show yeah it just it it brought me back into it because he was so charming and so like it's uh so it's probably not my favorite because i'm not a huge fan of the show but like like everybody that was like you know i mean that was his breakout performance but i remember that just just like elevating a show that I was kind of losing interest in. Yeah. What about you? One of these guys was like really handsome and like just fucked everything that moved

and it was just liquid sexuality. What if we did that for a couple episodes? Well, he felt like an old movie star, you know? Yeah, totally. Yeah. He totally felt like, yeah, just, you know? Yeah, totally. Yeah, he totally felt like, yeah, just every moment was just hitting the mark, just like the perfect ray of sunshine was hitting him.

I'm going to go with Wonder Woman 1984. Maybe not my favorite, but I think an underrated performance. He's very strange. He has no mustache in it, but it shows a little bit of his range because he's like just a like the most pathetic superhero movie villain that i've seen in a long while um he's just it's like it really feels like a gill from the simpsons was his motivation he's like oh boy

oh man that was like yeah i do almost even though I didn't like that movie, I do all, you kind of admire how strange it was to make a sequel to like a, you know, huge blockbuster superhero movie. And the sequel is like, well, what if, what if Donald Trump got a magic wishing rock? What?

1984. Yeah. All right. And a 24 auction. This is something I wasn't aware of that you brought to my attention, but they occasionally auction off their props. dress was like the big thing and yeah and i think one of the like bejeweled furbies from uncut gems those were like the big items in the last one those are both really cool those both feel like they should be in the academy museum a little bit yeah totally but this one i guess is mostly uh props from everything everywhere all at once uh yeah it's a real mixture. It's a real grab bag.

One of them is pile of receipts. It's just a pile of receipts with various things circled. Deirdre's calculator. That is a calculator that I believe my parents had and did their taxes on when I was a child. and did our taxes on when I was a child. Great. Then you can also get laundry delivery RV, which that's the hot dog hands, obviously. The hot dog hands are a big one.

Yeah. Yeah. Do you address hot dog costume? Yeah. Yeah, the butt plug is huge. The employee of the month award for auditor of the month for the IRS is a butt plug, funny visual gag and useful to have around your house. You know, totally. Yeah. Can get that. You can get

the actual Raka Cooney prop. Yeah. That's something that's big. That's big. That's a, you know, that's a conversation starter. Yeah. Just put that in your living room. It's very strange. So A24 auctions, they have, one of them is Rock vs. Rock, and it's just a rock with two googly eyes on it. And I hope some dipshit pays like $10,000 for that. Yeah. Because they don't even say it's the rock.

They're like, it's the stunt double from the rock verse. It's like, okay. It's a rock yeah but they also have like so on the front page it's like laundry and taxes auction it's like these props from those parts of the movies in another life auction mementos from the multiverse and then down below that they have a section on the a24 website novelty factor and they have like a inflatable toy microphone that just has the logo for the wedding singer taped on it playing cards from casino and it's just a playing card deck with like the casino poster on the box um it's pretty yeah it's like half of the auction is

like you know expensive props from like an academy award nominated film and then the other half of the auction is just like promotional items that were sent to gene shallot in 1995 right prosthetic teeth from austin powers but it's like in the plastic packaging that it comes with when you go to a Halloween store. It has the Austin Powers logo on it and a blister pack. So I don't know. It's wild to me that on one part, they are auctioning off items that feel like they belong in a museum.

you know, they seem to be doing it right. Yeah. There's a Fargo, uh, paper shredder. Yeah. I guess because of the wood chipper is maybe the connection.

I don't know. That's weird. Pin art board from hollow man. And it's just one of those, like those things you put, stick your hand in like all that has all the pins and you see the other side, but it just like,

that's just a sharper image thing. But then they wrote hollow man on one part of it. That's so weird. You know, I think the, these ones may have closed already. I think maybe just the, everything everywhere,

all at one stuff is going up now. They are closed. And the amount that people paid for them, like somebody paid $100 for the wedding singer toy microphone. Now this is being auctioned off for charity. So great. I'm happy for them doing that. But it's just as strange in terms of the message that it's sending. It's just a little confused.

Oh yeah, they have the fanny pack from Everything Everywhere All at Once too. That would be pretty great. The piñatas, there's a lot of great stuff. Someone paid $175 for a Babe piggy bank that doesn't even look like Babe. It just has the word Babe stenciled on the back it could have been from the babe with john goodman well it says it's from babe 1995 yeah there are a lot of babe movies
