Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to an iHeart podcast. Hey, I'm Jay Shetty and I'm the host of the On Purpose podcast. And I'm excited for my next episode with Khloe Kardashian. God, I've been through so many things that at this point, I would rather not feel than feel because feeling is too much for me to handle. I am Khloe Kardashian. Khloe Kardashian, everybody. Khloe Kardashian. No one Kardashian everybody. Khloe Kardashian.
Starting point is 00:00:25 No one understands how it's, I'm not just a TV show. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Why is a soap opera western like Yellowstone so wildly successful? The American West with Dan Flores is the latest show from the Meat Eater Podcast Network.
Starting point is 00:00:46 So join me starting Tuesday, May 6th, where we'll delve into stories of the West and come to understand how it helps inform the ways in which we experience the region today. Listen to The American West with Dan Flores on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, I'm Sam Mullins, and I've got a new podcast coming out called Go Boy, the gritty true story of how one man fought his way out of some of the darkest places imaginable. Roger Caron was 16 when first convicted. He spent 24 of those years in jail. But when Roger Caron picked up a pen and paper, he went from an ex-con to a literary darling.
Starting point is 00:01:26 From Campside Media and iHeart Podcasts, listen to Go Boy on the iHeart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The best things in life are on the other side of difficult conversations. But if we're honest, most people run from them, staying silent, missing chances, and holding themselves back. I know this is true because I used to be like that until I realized that negotiation isn't a talent, it's a skill that anyone can learn.
Starting point is 00:01:55 And once I did, everything changed. I went from people pleaser to confident communicator and now I teach Fortune 500 leaders and top executives how to do the same. Listen to Negotiate Anything on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, the playoff action has really been fantastic. I mean, you hate yourself. Oh, wow. Gosh.
Starting point is 00:02:19 And good to see you. Great. Just having a good old time with the Lakers. Also, Jalen Brunson, because now I'm a Knicks fan. I'm a Knicks fan now. We're all Knicks fans. To another thing I'm not sure we'll actually end up being. It's like the days after 9-11. We're all New York City right now.
Starting point is 00:02:34 Exactly. Ha ha ha! And is Nick stunned? They stunned with that game one win in Boston. Number one stunner. Jokic, whatever, man. This guy, he's one of the liars. He's one of the high-rises. That's just unbelievable Just like they find their coach. What are they gonna do? The calves may be also in a bit of loomy D. Oh trouble if
Starting point is 00:03:02 Garland remains unavailable and we'll get into all of that and more with Cavs podcaster Justin Rowan on today's episode I'm miles gray and I'm Jack O'Brien and this is miles Boosties Got it! And Luka Dacic hits 10K! And the drive is spinning, fading, hitting! Batter number 18 has been secured. The Celtics are NBA champions. Over the double-team. Ohhhh! Night-night! Yannis with the take. Oh, look out! No, showtime the chase down pod, which is a calves, you know, org org and
Starting point is 00:03:53 NBA production. You're in there officially. Great to have you on the show. Especially great to have somebody who's still got some skin in the game in this postseason. Hope. Yeah, I did. I took an early exit took Yeah, I just figured yeah, I let the kids so you guys have fun tonight. You guys have fun with this See ourselves out
Starting point is 00:04:11 quick Please make it quick. But yeah good to see you. It's great to be back guys Thank you so much for having me a lot of fun is he said still got some skin of the game little little shaky now I don't want to date this podcast too much, but it does look like Garland, Mobley, and DeAndre Hunter are unlikely to play tonight. So that's good. Yeah, we are. We're recording this.
Starting point is 00:04:33 And that's good. And that's good. We're recording this before game two. That feels bad to me. But you never know, right? Like Donovan Mitchell is certainly capable of putting the, the team on his back, uh, the, the team found ways to, to win last season with Garland and Mobley out, so maybe this is a Donovan Mitchell and Jared Allen masterclass, you know,
Starting point is 00:04:55 get the series to one, one, have a couple days off, uh, before game five or not game five, but before Friday's game. Uh, and then just kind of take it from there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Look, look, he's good for And then just kind of take it from there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Look, he's good for 70 points, you know, every now and then. 71, I think he's the most he's scored. Hey, if you scored 71, you can score 70 or 68. You know, why not?
Starting point is 00:05:16 Why not? Oh man, that's a bummer if they're all three out. Anyways, we'll get to that later, I guess. Not as much of a bummer as not having your team in the postseason. Although it is been nice. I wouldn't know anything about that, Miles. Well, you did, you have always said
Starting point is 00:05:30 it is nice to watch as a neutral, and then Jabari and I, you welcomed us into the light. I like it, like I guess, well, let's just run everything down that happened after last week's episode. Obviously, the Wolves just put the Lakers to bed. Julius Randall absolutely haunted us. That's totally fine.
Starting point is 00:05:51 But yeah, we will see, look, now the next part of what could be happening, because now the wolves will be playing the warriors, but now the next phase for us Lakers fans who are unwell is for us to begin living in a fantasy world where we might sign some other dynastic talent to pair with Luka Donsich or LeBron or one of them goes, or we cash out Austin Reeves for maybe Yannis.
Starting point is 00:06:13 I don't know. That's just some- Reeves for Yannis straight up. That feels fair. Another weird trade like that. They're like, what are they doing? Were there any picks or anything? Nah, straight trade, straight swap, Reeves for Yannis.
Starting point is 00:06:27 But yeah, also then Anthony Edwards did a victory lap around crypto after that game. That was the best thing I've seen in the NBA this year. Look, I was even saying, like some of my other Laker fans, I'm like, I'm not mad, I actually love Anthony. He's like one of those guys I love, I just hate playing him. But even when he goes and literally dances on our grave
Starting point is 00:06:51 after the elimination, even the fans are like, what's up, Ant? And he's like, wait, y'all aren't mad at it? He was even confused. He was like, what? Oh, hey, no? You guys were talking all this trash. Okay, well, great. Good to see you. Revealed that his favorite movie is Matilda again. Still, because he had revealed that in another like pre-draft interview.
Starting point is 00:07:08 And then he was talking about how the good guys die in this one was what he was saying to the Lakers fans. He was like, oh, you guys thought you were gonna come back? Nah, the good guys die in this one. You're gonna be like Morris Chestnut. So I was like, oh, is Boys in the Hood your favorite movie? And he was like, what? No, man, Matilda. Well, it favorite movie? And he was like, no. What? No, man.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Matilda. Well, it's important to reestablish that, right? Like, you know, these are still formative years. You're talking about your early twenties. I know. The pace can change, right? Your opinion can change. He's still standing strong with Matilda.
Starting point is 00:07:40 And I think that was very important for us to know. Will that be a moment when he discovers a new film and it's like, it's no longer Matilda actually. I just saw Boondock Saints. He's seen Boys in the Hood. So he's seen other more grownup movies. I like that because the early 20s is when a lot of people are just trying to seem smart with their film choices.
Starting point is 00:08:03 And you know, like Jaws was always my favorite movie, but I had to start dabbling with like, you know, foreign films and shit to try and act like I was better than I actually was. But- Did you also embrace Donnie Darko? Did you have a Donnie Darko thing? Donnie Darko, for sure, man.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Yeah, Justin, you too? Everything I know about physics, I learned from Donnie Darko. I really man. Yeah. Everything I know about physics, I learned from Donnie Darko. I really hope that his review of all these movies are, it kind of gives off a Matilda vibe. Like just- You know what this reminded me of? Between Matilda and Matilda, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Yeah, I just saw Megalopolis, gotta say big Matilda vibes. Big Matilda vibes, yeah. I guess Coppola is a Matilda fan. I guess I'm not the big Matilda vibes. Big Matilda vibes. Yeah, I guess. I guess that was. Coppola is a Matilda fan. I guess I'm not the only Matilda fan, but yeah. I don't know. It was a, there's a story about my grandfather
Starting point is 00:08:53 who used to be a basketball coach and there's a book written about his team called The Breaks of the Game. And at one point it's revealed that he would, after a loss, just like go walking the streets around the arena looking to fight someone, which is not good. That was called therapy back then, Jack. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:09:15 Men would rather do this than invent, than learn that therapy had been invented. His name is Jack Ramsey, Dr. Jack. He was an intense man, very, very lovely man by the time I got to meet him, but very, very intense basketball coach. And yeah, this was like the joyful version of that. He was just like, I mean,
Starting point is 00:09:39 it could have gone a lot of different directions. He was looking for smoke, I think. Yeah, thank God LA is a city of, you know, celebrity worship where they're like, oh my God, it's Ant. Hey, can I flick it up? But also, I think just the way as fans, we looked at the series, we weren't like, man, if Anthony Edwards did this to us.
Starting point is 00:09:58 So like, I think we looked at it as like- You guys were right, you guys were right. It probably helped that it didn't go like seven games too, cause you know, the emotions are raw when it goes that far into a series. The fact that, you know, it kind of wrapped up in a tidy manner there. And exactly as LeBron said, he wasn't able to play if the series continued anyway. So the thing was over one way or another. Yeah. Yeah, it would have gone a little bit different if there would have been some rhetoric. If if JJ Reddick was walk out walking the streets. I feel like you know, it might not have been as popular
Starting point is 00:10:32 That's what I mean And I think again, I think probably also half the Lakers fans like and one day Anthony you will be playing for us I don't want to ruin this. Yeah, this is just a recruiting visit. He thought he was going out there Everyone knew a hostile fan base. Everyone knew how to stay on code. Lakers fans all know. They're like, no, you're going to. An intelligent fan base right there. Whether it's Ann, whether it's Giannis,
Starting point is 00:10:53 whether it's whoever, you can't rule it out. Especially after this Luca thing. I know. That's why I joke. Every rumor I've just been now saying, oh, come home. Come home. Because it's because you said that about Luca last year. And look, guys, it's all about manifesting.
Starting point is 00:11:12 And you're not joking when you say it, by the way, as a Lakers fan, you're not. You're only half. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I mean, I'm saying could say it and it's it's absurd. Nobody's sire. My desire is sincere. I am joking in that I think it's attainable, but in a way it is attainable if I can even express the desire. And that's what all manifesting is about.
Starting point is 00:11:33 You know what I mean? Yeah. And Giannis, by the way, has announced that if he asks for a trade, it's gonna be to New York, LA or Miami. And I can't imagine anyone really making sense of it. Because I mean, who's going to look at the Clippers and be like, yep, that's where I want to be.
Starting point is 00:11:52 That's that team that had the better team. This like the second best team in the West heading in the playoffs and couldn't make it out of the first round. That's that's the type of team that I want to be a part of. The net, I feel like everybody includes the net says like, the first round, that's the type of team that I want to be a part of. The net, I feel like everybody includes the net, says like, well, they've got the most assets, they make the most sense, but I feel like after the KD tenure there, I feel like it's gonna be hard
Starting point is 00:12:18 to get people on board. I feel like it's the Knicks or the Lakers, or the Heat, I guess, but also they don't look look great either. We can offer you one Austin Reeves. Yeah, exactly. Like the Lakers don't make sense the Nothing. Yeah, the Knicks I'm trying to figure out like I feel like the Knicks also gave away all their picks So I don't know who it's gonna be. Maybe he just stays in Milwaukee. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, we'll see I don't know. I mean, I feel like if he wants to go somewhere, do you think Milwaukee's like, hey man, all right, we definitely, we made the best of this now,
Starting point is 00:12:52 let's facilitate, let's honor your wishes and get you to the team you want to, or do you think they'll really try and make an issue of it? I'm sure Miami's gonna hope that they do that, right? Like, wasn't that the whole thing with Dane? Like, hey, we don't have the best offer, but he'd really like to be here. Yeah, I feel like there's going to be enough, you know, really good teams that are going to be interested in him that, you know, whether
Starting point is 00:13:13 it might need to be something like, hey, we're getting you to Brooklyn because Brooklyn has a lot of picks, but Brooklyn has these big plans to bring someone else in kind of thing. Like, we can make this into a situation. They have a Chick-fil-A in the locker room. And you got a Chick-fil-A on us. Yeah. You got to weigh every single factor, right? It's not just about what the roster looks like now.
Starting point is 00:13:36 It's also what the concessions are. Exactly. Or the viability of winning a championship within a few years. It's what's the, what the food do. Elsewhere the the Warriors. Yeah, I mean, they they took out the buddy healed game healed. Wow. The Rockets straight up face guard double team, Steph, the whole game.
Starting point is 00:13:56 Like it was like it was like the thing you see in like middle school when a player is like really good and they're just like, all right, everybody guard him the whole way. We're just going to put the whole thing around him. Yeah. And I think it probably would have worked if Gary Payton Jr. wasn't hurt. But he was I think he was out and Buddy Heald was playing and Buddy Heald can shoot really well when he's not in a Sixers uniform. And yeah, shout out to him he's not in a Sixers uniform.
Starting point is 00:14:25 And yeah, shout out to him for stepping up in a big moment. But I mean, they were just like, Steph's not gonna beat us. Who is? And it was like, I guess Buddy Heald. Step right up, Buddy. Yeah. He had 33 points, nine threes.
Starting point is 00:14:41 Unbelievable, unbelievable game. Did not see that one coming. I thought the Rockets had a shot in that series. They obviously did, but they probably need to make a move. Although I don't love them for Giannis either because they just like, again, like no shooting. No, you know, so we're just gonna keep doubling down on no shooting and hope for league changes.
Starting point is 00:15:06 It just might, you know, going to be that one contrarian that really changes it all. Okay. So maybe should we take a break and then come back and actually discuss the teams that are playing currently? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's do it. Let's do that. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. Alright, we're ready. I am Khloe Kardashian. Khloe Kardashian everybody. Khloe Kardashian. No one understands how it's, I'm not just a TV show. There would be times that I was like, I don't even want to go out to the grocery store because I feel like I know what they're thinking about me. And that was scary to me because I've never been in a dark place for that long.

The best things in life are on the other side of difficult conversations, but most people avoid them, staying silent, missing opportunities and holding themselves back. I know this is true because I used to be one of those people. As a kid, I struggled to fit in and I was afraid to speak up. That fear followed me into adulthood until I realized something powerful. Negotiation isn't a talent, it's a skill anyone can learn. And it starts with
Starting point is 00:18:53 negotiating with yourself, breaking through fear, self-doubt, and the limits we place on ourselves. Now I help people from all walks of life, whether it's people closing multi-million dollar deals, parents setting boundaries, students finding their voice, or professionals advancing their careers. If you want to handle tough conversations, get what you deserve and take control of your future, this podcast is for you. I'm Kwame Christian, host of Negotiate Anything,
Starting point is 00:19:19 the number one negotiation podcast in the world, where you'll learn one simple truth. You don't get what you deserve. You get what you negotiate. Listen to negotiate anything on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And we are back. So we did, I think, I mean, we alluded to the fact that why would you want to play for the Clippers? But that's because Denver took care of them in game seven. I went to a bar in LA because I was like, you know what, let's see how this goes. I was so disappointed
Starting point is 00:19:55 that I left just like so early in the third lane. I mean, maybe middle of the third quarter was not really a competitive game. But now we've got the Nuggets and Thunder and that game one was frightening. I thought, I really did, I was kind of like, oh wow, look at the Nuggets. He he he he. And now that game one, that was really coming back from, what was it, down 14, was really, really impressive.
Starting point is 00:20:23 And yeah, I think I'm I think I think that I was a it was premature for me to completely write off the nuggets, at least on the back of that one. Yeah, they're tough. Heart of a champion. I'm officially never picking the Clippers to win a playoff series again. That's just where where I'm at. I always make fun of ESPN for being, you know, putting up the stats where it's like in the history of this franchise, they're, you know, 73 and 81 against,
Starting point is 00:20:56 you know, when trailing by two games. And it's like, what? That doesn't mean anything except with the Clippers, the Clippers. It does mean something because, yeah, that's that's what I should have. I should have paid attention to the fact that they are the Clippers and I should have paid attention to the fact that they have James Harden. Clippers ones and Dock Rivers ones are very important. Yeah, those ones definitely. Yeah, Dock Rivers is no joke.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Like that is for some of those stats about like, you know, records, like coming back, having other teams come back against them from 3-1 down. And it's like, he had like half of the instances. Since 2000, NBA teams are 943 and 19 in the playoffs when leading by seven plus points with under 35 seconds left. Doc Rivers is 34 and 17 in these situations. So that means he has 17 of the 19 losses in this scenario. I don't think that's right.
Starting point is 00:21:55 I think that's a fake stat. There were some real, I don't think that's possibly right. But there were some real stats. I think there were 943. I look, I have to believe it. I have to believe it at this point. Because these are all, it's the confirmation bias. But yeah, the, yeah, nuggets, wow.
Starting point is 00:22:14 We got our final four in the East, our final four in the West. Man, as somebody who is Celtics, cheering for the field versus the Celtics, anybody but the Celtics. I feel even though they lost game one, I feel worse because I think they lost game one. I think this is as good as it gets for, you know, Knicks fans or Celtics haters, because I just don't think the Celtics
Starting point is 00:22:42 are going to miss all their threes. I don't think they're going to miss a record setting number of threes again. And again, and again. And, you know, the team that has the best chance at beating them as of right now, again, we're recording this before game two, but our down one with three of their best through their, you know, four, five through their five best offensive players, uh, injured or, you know, uh, that just doesn't, I don't know. I mean, I will say the Pacers are giving me a little bit of hope. The Pacers are tough as hell. Like they, they look awesome. Yeah. They play great basketball, man. Like, uh, you know,
Starting point is 00:23:21 the, that game one loss, obviously no Garland no Garland hurt and game kind of changed a little bit in the fourth quarter when when Mobley got hurt and then Hunter as well but like they came out they were more prepared than the Cavs they got terrific shot quality I thought the perimeter defense was great you know they got killed on the inside a little bit and I think that's going to be one of those things that, you know, we in a series against Boston, you'll have to figure out, hey, can can they defend both the paint and the three point line or is it really going to be a one or the other? But that's that's a really good team, man.
Starting point is 00:23:54 Like I think there was a reason they were the best playoff offense last year. And, you know, they'll probably be more equipped to challenge Boston this year than they were last year. Yeah. But I'm also not giving up on your Cavs. Are you? I'm not either. I'm not either, you know. Obviously, shorthanded tonight, no Garland, Mobley or Hunter. But, you know, they just in my eyes, you just got to win the one game, right? Like Darius Garland dealing with what Brian Windhorst described as turf toe,
Starting point is 00:24:25 you know, trying to make it back early if they can just buy him a little bit more time He's been trying to give it a go trying to battle through that in practice. It just hasn't been you know responding well Maybe he can be available for Friday the Andre Hunter dislocated thumb on a shooting hand and Evan Mobley didn't, apparently wasn't able to put weight on his ankle or real weight on his ankle. Those all sound bad. Yeah, not great.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Dislocated thumb on your shooting hand is like, oh boy. Yeah, not ideal, but you know, maybe some of those start to turn around and at least get to the place where, you know, you can play through it. But when you're playing against a team that moves the ball like Indiana, that plays at the highest pace,
Starting point is 00:25:09 if you're a shifty guard like Darius Garland, playing with turf toe is probably not going to help you, you know, on either end of the floor. It's gonna, you know, prevent you from planting and whatnot. So they just gotta, you know, find a way to get this one game. It'll be interesting to see, you know,
Starting point is 00:25:24 what approach they take. But I definitely feel like trying to once again win that possession battle is going to be a big part of it and hope for some shooting regression because they shot like crap on their looks and Indy shot, you know, had their best shooting night of the year. They're probably hoping for a little bit of that swing, similar to what Boston's hoping for against the Knicks. Yeah, I mean, I've the last two seasons, I feel like we've seen you guys have some
Starting point is 00:25:49 pretty different lineups due to injury and stuff like that and managing through that. But whose absence are you most concerned about going forward of everybody that you're like, oh, boy, this is going to make it a real tall order? God, probably Mobley, just because, you know, not being able to put weight on your ankle is concerning and he's the anchor of the defense, right? Like he's that guy that's that release valve when teams pressure the guards, he's the one that provides that front court initiation. So it's not just a defensive thing.
Starting point is 00:26:17 It's offensive as well. But the tough thing is you're missing your most impactful offensive and defensive player. Mitchell is their best score. He's their best, you your most impactful offensive and defensive player. Mitchell is their best scorer. He's their best, you know, he's their best player. He's that guy that you trust in closing situations. If you look at the last three years, like Darius is the difference between them being great offensively and not. This year they had a the best offense in NBA history with Garland on the court.
Starting point is 00:26:44 In the minutes where Garland was out there without Mitchell, it actually even got better. When Garland's off the court, they have the 13th best offense. You look two years ago, when Mitchell first came there, they had a top five offense with Garland on the court, 29th with him off. Last year when he wasn't himself,
Starting point is 00:27:00 they didn't manage to have a top 10 offense. So when you're playing against a team as good as Indiana offensively You're gonna have to find other ways to win right rather than your strength which had been offense all season So I'm probably most concerned about Mowgli But you know, this is about as tough of a blow as you can have in the playoffs is garlic What what was going on with Garland last year was was there like a lingering injury? Yeah, so Garland broke his jaw. He had a wired shot for six weeks. He wasn't able to eat, was drinking through a straw. He had a death in the family too as he got out of that situation.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Just like a bad year. Yeah, really tough year. I think he lost like like 17 18 pounds and you just aren't going to regain that in you know in the middle of a regular season Yeah well I think we're all pulling for the Cavs to even this up make it make it a really good series which We think it can it's interesting the Cavs I think went into the series as the favorites and now the Pacers even heading into game two after that game one or the favorites probably having to do with injuries
Starting point is 00:28:10 Boston lost game one at home and are still the favorites against the Knicks I will I do just want because I kind of Brushed past it pretty quickly and was like this is as good as it's gonna get what a glorious game one I think the Knicks for giving it to us. It did give me a little glimmer of hope, just a little tiny. Is Boston not quite where they were last year? Because obviously, Tatum was just not shooting well last night. But Boston, like my whole hope with Boston has always been
Starting point is 00:28:44 Tatum doesn't have that like down the stretch. like my whole hope with Boston has always been, Tatum doesn't have that like down the stretch, super clutch energy to him. Like he just like, hasn't always done as well as you want your leader to do in those situations. Last year they won it, but they won it because Brown was that guy. Like Brown stepped in and was playing out of his mind.
Starting point is 00:29:05 And he, you know, won the finals MVP. And so this year, I think all the Celtics fans are talking a lot about, like Tatum's actually stepped up. He's that dude now. But there are like those moments where you're still like, I don't know, is he? Like, and if he's not and Brown is not playing out of his mind like he did last year, then you have to rely on like Derek White and Holliday. And it's just a little different.
Starting point is 00:29:34 It's a little harder to see where they're going to get all the big buckets they need down the stretch against whoever they end up playing against. Again, I don't know that it's the Knicks, but they're they're giving me a little bit of hope. I think whoever comes out of the West is going to win, honestly. You really? Yeah, I just think this isn't as good of a Boston team as it was last year. You know, Drew Holliday is taking a bit of a step backwards.
Starting point is 00:29:59 Zingas doesn't look like himself either. You know, I still probably think it's going to be OKC, but I just feel like whoever's coming out of the West is probably going to be the champion this season. That, uh, so who do you like Wolves Warriors? Because the Warriors definitely showed me something in game seven, but man, the Wolves just look strong. I think it's going to be the Wolves. It's so tough. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:22 I think it's going to be the Wolves. You know, Warriors do have that experience advantage right like you there is so much championship at NBA finals experience when you talk about those top guys But I just feel like the wolves are a more complete team I think they were able to you know overcome some demons and have a lot of confidence taking down Lebron and Luca and playoffs are all about momentum and I feel like they have a lot of confidence taking down LeBron and Luca and playoffs are all about momentum. And I feel like they have a lot of momentum there whereas what the Warriors went through against Houston, like, yes, they did a great job in game seven,
Starting point is 00:30:54 but that's a very tough series against a team that's very, very inexperienced and I just- Very limited. Yeah. I think the Wolves are ready to take that next step and are going to be in the conference finals again. Yeah, I think the Wolves are ready to take that next step and are going to be in the conference finals again. Yeah, just hearing the narratives with Ant wanting to play a Luka team again and then he's like,
Starting point is 00:31:13 I want to play the Warriors. There's just the excitement on that side of it makes me feel like, yeah, I don't know how they'll counter all of that. But just with the Knicks though, I just love this. I just love the rivalry between Boston and New York fans. And that's giving me another layer that I'm really, really enjoying this. But I think to your point, Jack, Tatum was so cold in the second half,
Starting point is 00:31:41 until maybe towards the end of the third quarter. He hit a three and then hit a couple more. But like to your point, like every now and then, like Derek White would bail them out or drew Holliday with like a random three that they were just able to sort of stay in it. But it just wasn't really enough to get over. I'm I'm hoping that this is still a possibility for New York. But I also see like this can also be one of those things for a team that's just one,
Starting point is 00:32:05 they need like a smack in the mouth really quick. And then they're like, okay, yeah, let's, this is anonymous. Let's just do what we came here to do. But I'm still gonna- That feels like what we're gonna see. But we will see. Yeah, I'm holding out hope.
Starting point is 00:32:22 And I do feel like Indiana or Healthy Cleveland is a more complete team that could give them trouble. But we shall see. I'm very happy with how the playoffs have gone. And so the NBA, by the way, they're breaking ratings records. So that's cool to see after a year where everyone was like, what's wrong with the NBA?
Starting point is 00:32:49 Like people are excited about the playoffs as well they should be. I mean, they're gonna love it when Yannis is in a Lakers uniform too next year. So, you know, let's keep that momentum going, the NBA. All right, let's, should we take a break and come back and do the fastest round in basketball podcasting?
Starting point is 00:33:07 I think we might have to. We might have to. All right. Take a quick break and we'll be back. Hey, my name is Jay Shetty and I'm the host of On Purpose and I'm excited for my next episode with Khloe Kardashian. God, I've been through so many things that at this point I would rather not feel than feel because feeling is too much for me to handle. All right, we're ready.
Starting point is 00:33:33 I am Khloe Kardashian. Khloe Kardashian, everybody. Khloe Kardashian. No one understands how it's, I'm not just a TV show. There would be times that I was like, I don't even want to go out to the grocery store because I feel like I know what they're thinking about me. And that was scary to me because I've never been in a dark place for that long.
Starting point is 00:33:55 You've always taken care of others. Have you discovered anything about why you've seen yourself take on that role in so many relationships in your life. On November 5th, 2018, at 6.33am, a red Volkswagen Golf was found abandoned in a ditch out in Sleephole Valley. The driver's seat door was open.
Starting point is 00:34:32 No traces of footsteps leaving the vehicle. No belongings were found, except for a cassette tape lodged in the player. On that tape were 10 vile, grotesque, horrific stories that to this day have been Until now. No! Don't force me! You feeling this too? A horror anthology podcast. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:35:16 In 1978, Roger Caron's first book was published. And he was unlike any first-time author Canada had ever seen. Roger Caron was 16 when first convicted. Had spent 24 of those years in jail. 12 years in solitary. He went from an ex-con to a literary darling almost overnight. He was instantly a celebrity. He was an adrenaline junkie and he was the star of the show. Go-Boy is the gritty true story of how one man fought his way out of some of the darkest
Starting point is 00:35:49 places imaginable. I had a knife go in my stomach, puncture my skin, break my ribs, I had my guts all in my hands. Only to find himself back where he started. Rodger's saying this, I've never hurt anybody but myself. And I said, oh, you're so wrong. You're so wrong on that one, Rod. From Campside Media and iHeart Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:36:10 listen to GoBoy on the iHeart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The best things in life are on the other side of difficult conversations. But most people avoid them, staying silent, missing opportunities and holding themselves back. I know this is true because I used to be one of those people. As a kid, I struggled to fit in and I was afraid to speak up.
Starting point is 00:36:35 That fear followed me into adulthood until I realized something powerful. Negotiation isn't a talent, it's a skill anyone can learn. And it starts with negotiating with yourself, breaking through fear, self-doubt, and the limits we place on ourselves. Now I help people from all walks of life, whether it's people closing multi-million dollar deals, parents setting boundaries, students finding their voice, or professionals advancing their careers. If you want to handle tough conversations, get what you deserve, and take control of your future, this podcast is for you. I'm Kwame Christian, host of Negotiate

Listen to Negotiate Anything on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And we are back. Oh, JR. Do you mind if I call you JR, Justin Rowland? Hey, that's what I was called in high school. I'm fine with it. Great. RJ, you're going to love this next segment. It's called the fourth quarter rapid fire. Ah, that was my dyslexia. JR, you're gonna love this next segment.
Starting point is 00:37:48 It's the fourth quarter rapid fire round of questioning. You already know what it is. The fastest question answer segment in all sports podcasting history. We're gonna ask you a question. You don't ruminate, don't process, just react instantly. Chest pass it right back to us. Don't think, keep it quick or we will be rude to you.
Starting point is 00:38:04 Okay. Yeah. You know what PJ Tucker stands for What his name is Anthony Leon Tucker jr. PJ is all junior because his dad Was Anthony Leon that's fun Tucker jr. Isn't that cute Wow? Yeah, I thought good I thought this is gonna be a really weird joke No, you know, I think RJ so yeah I thought this was gonna be a really weird joke. So I was like, oh. You know what they call him? RJ. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But anybody, so anybody could be a PJ is what it comes, because.
Starting point is 00:38:32 Oh, because you're a popsuit. Yeah, you're just your dad's kid, you know? We're all PJ Tucker in many ways. Wait, but is he a junior, did you say? Yeah, yeah. Oh, but okay. But I guess maybe that helps because he is a, if you're not a junior does it still work
Starting point is 00:38:45 I it works for me. All right, I'll allow it because his sneaker game is Intense and I will approve. Yeah. Oh, I want to see where you're going. But they're fast. Mr. Gray Boosties approved. Okay. Shall we begin? Let's go It was gonna go first you or me my gosh, I can't believe you inhaled that hole here how did that reverse? Yeah Yeah, the reverse symbol is what is that what the kids are calling it these days That's what the Dean at my high school called it I got the first question. Myles just did a whole reverse symbol on that glass water pipe.
Starting point is 00:39:31 Tobacco. It's tobacco. Justin, you have the ability to wave your magic wand and create your, Justin Rowan's, preferred finals matchup for the end of this postseason. What's your matchup? and what do you actually think? Undercast, I'm a homer. Well, like, yeah, let's be real. I would love for that to be the case. Okay, well, look, let me finish the question
Starting point is 00:39:54 before you answer or else you just come off rude. I'm going quicker. I know, I get it. And in your enthusiasm, you've actually disrespected the host. And so I just do wanna put that do want to put that out there. However, to finish that question. And I took that as disrespect.
Starting point is 00:40:08 Me? I took that as disrespect. And with your matchup, Cavs Thunder, what will the eventual outcome be? Ooh. Oh man, I have no idea where this one's going. It feels like such a hypothetical now. So I'll say Cavs in six because you know, where it seems like it, if it would happen, maybe it goes that way, who because you know, there you go. It seems like it if it would happen
Starting point is 00:40:26 Maybe it goes that way who knows? Okay now reality check. What do you think the in actuality reality? Finals matchup be I think it's gonna be thunder Celtics and thunder will win in six games. Wow That is the right answer. So either of those scenarios love them both of them both. Yeah. All right. I'm going to ask you to pick one of these players. Okay. It's a time travel scenario. Oh, we love it. So the player from the past is coming to the future with the game that they had in the past. Player from the present is going back to the past with the game and knowing what they know of basketball. You got Donovan Mitchell to the late 80s or Mark Price to right now. I want to see Mitchell in the 80s. Yeah, me too.
Starting point is 00:41:13 I want to see him. Those up and down games. Yeah, that would be a lot of fun. Also, Mark Price's immune system wouldn't be able to handle the more advanced germs and COVID-19 of the modern world. So she would die pretty quickly. Modern world is a scary place, my friend. All right. Next question, Justin, to add to this team, to replace Garland, your selections, LeBron's first run with the calves or LeBron's second run with the calves?
Starting point is 00:41:44 Oh, I'm going to go second just because they need the shooting around the two bigs. Yeah. I was going to say, yeah, that's also the right answer. Yeah, that felt like it. So, okay. All right. Would you take being in the lottery for the next five seasons for a single title for Cleveland next year?
Starting point is 00:42:00 Absolutely. Yeah, give me a title. This is only a question that makes sense to Lakers fans, because to me, I'm like, What are you talking about? But I just want I want to keep asking it because Jabari insists that this makes total sense. Jabari is a Lakers fan. Miles is a Lakers fan. They would trade being in the lottery for five years, like having a lottery pick for the next five years for a title, because Lakers are just like, yeah, no, we just, we need chips. We need more chips, more chips. It's an addiction. It's dangerous. You know, I've
Starting point is 00:42:32 lost, I've lost family over it, you know, and friends. He says, how many years until that answer is no. And to like how many lottery picks for a title is the question oh boy um i think a decade's worth you know nine nine nine is where i start to flinch a little bit like it's got to be a real title it can't be like a 2015 warriors here i i want to you know go out and earn it thank you for not saying bubble so you guys are you know you you guys have won a title recently so you're in that world where there is an answer to this. Whereas for the Sixers, I'm like, I don't care. It's just one title for all the, we don't never have to play basketball again.
Starting point is 00:43:16 Can I have it? We're 10 years away from, you know, when the Cavs won a title. I, you know, if you give me one now, another nine years off and then we can keep it moving. I think I can handle that. Oh man. What a title too. That's, that's so cool to have like, that's, that's the best one. I think it's the best one. That's like the, you know, everybody was rooting for the Cavs. We were all in Cleveland. I'd trade two of ours for that one.
Starting point is 00:43:44 It was a good one. I've got to say. It was brilliant. God. Last question, Justin. If the Cavs fall short again this year, would you want back on the LeBron James train for that final season, the farewell tour, and perhaps the chance at one more, just a bit of gold at the end of the rainbow. If it was him opting out and coming on like a minimum or mid-level exception type thing, sure.
Starting point is 00:44:10 I'm not blowing up the core to trade for old LeBron because he was looking pretty old in the playoffs. All right, yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean, look, we're looking for people who might be interested. Yeah, I get what's happening here, I understand. In case, you know, I think it'd be great. I think it'd be great. I think it'd be great. I think it'd be great. I think it's a great story. Great way to end it.
Starting point is 00:44:30 And yeah, it's tough to hear about that MCO. Tough to hear about that MCO. Does Brawny go? Oh, is Brawny welcome? I think he's welcome. I was at the game in Cleveland where he played. That was a lot of fun. That's cool. All right
