Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of OK, Zeitputer. Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I love radio's heads, man. Oh, man. This is what it was like to drink with me when I was in my 20s. Have you heard radio trend, man? Hey, try and understand what the singer's saying in this song right now.
Starting point is 00:02:38 You're not going to believe it. He said Hitler hairdo making me feel ill. Oh, man. I am Jack. That over there. Well, that's Miles. Oh, yeah. This here.
Starting point is 00:02:53 These are some things that are trending right now. Tesla, the company that makes cars that make us go vroom vroom without the gas. Yeah. They had to recall 321,000 for a taillight issue. 321,000 car recall for their cars. This is apparently
Starting point is 00:03:12 the 19th recall this year. That's a lot. I don't know how common recalls are, but I know my car, which I will say is a Mazda 3, 2015. Okay, five door. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Don't have a lot of recalls. A lot of, right? Mazda, bong, bong. Bong, bong. Oh, get busy, child. No, Zoom Zoom used to be it. That was Mazda? Yeah, I think so.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Yeah. Okay. Zoom, Zoom, Zoom. And it was like some weird, like problematic, like African theme. I remember they had that shit. Anyway.
Starting point is 00:03:43 They had like the ghost of a child be like, Zoom, you're like oh my god like a person waking up from his dream like oh my god fuck it's like a nightmare uh but then also on top of that the stock price it's trending because of that i guess it's the the tesla stock is at a 52 week low and that's supposed to be the good one that's his uh that's his good one that elon musk he did all the companies and tesla's supposed to be good one and not so good today buster um yeah so i don't know i mean i think for the for many people who are watching we're like wow and watch how this affects everything else elon musk does yeah probably saw this coming and let trump back on twitter twitter yeah over the weekend i meant i meant to lose all this money
Starting point is 00:04:31 that's why it's like hard to right because we talk about this all the time of like who has nefarious goals in mind with getting elon musk to buy twitter how much of it is big idiot just screwing it up on his own and it just feels like everything's true at the same time constantly i'm like right damn it would suck if this thing goes down and then also like damn this dude really is a fucking he's he has no idea what he's doing i'm sure there are like some wealthy shrewd uh you know authoritarians out there who are like this guy oh yeah yeah yeah definitely let him take over twitter that would be fucking hilarious um but i don't yeah my guess would be he's not in on it and the vast majority of him coming on taking over twitter and absolutely bricking one of the most important websites in existence was,
Starting point is 00:05:25 uh, was more people buying into the myth that forms around anybody with toxic narcissism in our culture. This guy takes L after L with every company he's been a part of. Yeah. Like there's nothing about him that aside from from the fake myth that he created PayPal, which he did not. He's gliding off a lot
Starting point is 00:05:50 of bad articles. Wait, hold on. What? What is this I just learned about you? Oh, okay. It's like me at the magazine rack in the 90s taking L after L because I liked that magazine. Fucking E-L-L-E-L
Starting point is 00:06:08 magazine. That was a hit. We all liked it, didn't we folks? Yeah, man. Fits with my persona. Good one. I'm the person who would read L. Good one. Thank you. I was just waiting.
Starting point is 00:06:21 I was lingering until you told me it was a good one. I like it. You know what? It took a second to marinate, but I like it. Yeah. But anyways, Twitter continues to... I don't know. So that's something that happened over the weekend. We'll talk about it a little bit tomorrow, how worried we should all
Starting point is 00:06:37 be. But he did a poll and then said, hey, the people have spoken. Donald Trump is allowed back on Twitter. His account is back. Somebody pointed out that his use of that quote wasn't great. And Bellinger said, if you're going to quote something to seem smart, it's a good idea to go to the original source.
Starting point is 00:07:03 So he tweeted something like, Volkspopuli, Volksde, like voice of people, voice of God. What can I say? And the English translation of that speech that he's quoting is, and those people should not be listened to who keep saying the voice of the people is the voice of God, since the riotousness of the crowd is always very close to madness. Oh, wow. So He's a learned man. He's one of us folks. A real, real stupid person.
Starting point is 00:07:33 My favorite philosopher? A lot of people say Aristotle, but my favorite philosopher is Elon Musk. Voltaire. First, Voltaire, because I like all the stuff he had to say about, uh, white supremacy in the 20th century.
Starting point is 00:07:49 And then, uh, second favorite Elon Musk. Um, hell yeah. Bob Iger, another one of these sort of narcissistic personalities that the mainstream media loves to just gobble it up. Don't we?
Starting point is 00:08:02 Yeah. Um, he came in and basically like, so a year ago you know he was doing his big farewell tour and he was retiring and he's this big uh celebrity ceo everybody was like what are they gonna do without him and he picked a successor who has the same name as him basically they have the same first and middle names. They're both Robert Allen.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Robert Allen Iger and Robert Allen something else. Yeah. He basically came, disappeared, that guy. Parts unknown. The former CEO of Disney. They're just like, yeah, nice try, asshole. And now Bob Iger is back and everyone is celebrating stock to the moon. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:46 It looks like the CFO and other executives got real panicked on Friday and were like, okay, based on the quarterly earnings and complaints from inside the company, we want to welcome you back, Bob. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:04 This stuff that has happened in the past year, that was presumably all totally started within the past year, right? In a vacuum. Yeah, no ideas carried over. It was a completely new regime. And Bob Iger's hand-picked successor probably had nothing to do with any of the mistakes. Or Bob Iger presumably had nothing to do with any of the mistakes, or Bob Iger presumably had nothing to do with any of the mistakes.
Starting point is 00:09:29 And it was all this new guy who went rogue after Iger picked him. But anyways, I don't give a shit about any of this. Maybe Bob Iger is a much better CEO. It's just funny how nobody can stay retired. They're so horny for this. They're so horny for everybody being like, yes, sir, Mr. Iger, sir, Mr. Musk, you truly are a funny person,
Starting point is 00:09:54 and I will have your baby. Oh, great. I mean, as Voltaire said, every man is guilty of all the good he did not do. So I'm sure he thought of that as voltaire said my favorite philosopher probably elon musk that was a voltaire quote as voltaire says you truly are the king of kings you truly are the biggest bastard in New York City. Carrie Lake trending. We were all waiting to see how she was going to take the L. Will you go quiet into that good night?
Starting point is 00:10:34 Would she take it with class? Would she take it and claim she got cheated? Would she take it and pay $5.37 because she is actually buying a magazine at the magazine rack at the grocery store, like I did when I was buying Elle magazine? No, she's not. No class.
Starting point is 00:10:58 She's not doing that one. No, no. All of her fascist impulses, she was not able to subdue. They are coming out loud and wrong she said quote tens of thousands of you have reached out without that pleading with me to fight this fight rest assured i will because if we give up now we will no longer have a country attorneys are working diligently to gather information whistleblowers are coming forward
Starting point is 00:11:22 and the curtain is being lifted. Whether done accidentally or intentionally, it is clear that this election was a debacle that destroyed any trust in our elections. That's what he's saying. Carrie Lake said that? Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Carrie Lake?
Starting point is 00:11:38 Yes. Carrie Lake also said Arizonans who trust or who chose to make their voices known on election day should not be disenfranchised or put blah, blah, anyway we're not um she's fighting it she's fighting it she's fighting it uh and it seems like a couple counties have been like we're joining in solidarity with this other county that is not uh certifying the election so there's a little bit of smoke coming out of the machine over there uh in arizona we'll see how how that all ends up. And then they'll just show with evidence that it was not rigged.
Starting point is 00:12:09 And then they'll keep saying it was rigged. And then maybe they'll be able to sue them again. More money for whatever that voting company is. That voting company is just going to be like the richest company on the globe
Starting point is 00:12:21 after they just keep getting to sue these dipshits. Yeah. And I don't know why that republicans like clearly election denialism isn't a winning fucking like platform at all as you saw as many of these like secretaries of state who are like in on this stop the steel shit were just like blasted out uh some did win but most by and large were not we're not winning like they thought not Not a winner. But for Republicans, they're like, so keep going with that?
Starting point is 00:12:51 That's like getting thrown out of the bar for acting a certain way. And then you come right back and they're like, that's still you. What do you think? You're going to get in here acting the same way? We just threw you out for that shit. Yeah, but I'm trying to fight. They're like, all right, get out. No, this isn't going to then make people be like, you know what? Since they're coming back around again for the second or third or fourth time on this maybe now i'm into this whole uh lack of peaceful transfer of power or whatever we call it here
Starting point is 00:13:14 yeah it doesn't it doesn't make like i think it's been seen as a loser like from very early on like didn't polling suggest that republican voters were like yeah man we don't we don't really like doing that we don't we don't want to keep doing this there was like dwindling energy for that but they're also elon musking it over there yeah they're on the right wing where they're like we know better than everyone else and then it's like spoiler alert they did not and yes but what makes it dangerous is that denial is only gonna to fan the fames of like the intent and the flames of like their intense rhetoric. I feel like it's not going to be like this. This doesn't end with me like y'all.
Starting point is 00:13:51 Y'all. We were wrong for pushing all this ethno nationalist shit. Right. We figured it out. We need to be more inclusive and we need to compete for your vote with a with a fucking platform about progress and equality no no it's just gonna be fan their fame but what's happening is they're fanning the flames thank you op uh thank you and thank you um all right let's take a quick break we'll be right back i'm jess casavetto executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult.
Starting point is 00:14:32 And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed. Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films and L.A.-based Shekinah Church, an alleged cult that has impacted members for over two decades. Jessica and I will delve into the hidden truths between high-control groups and interview dancers, church members, and others whose lives and careers have been impacted, just like mine. Listen to Forgive Me For I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. 24 hours. BPM 110, 120. She's terrified.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Should we wake her up? Absolutely not. What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything? You're allowed to be doing this?
Starting point is 00:16:02 We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm. Listen to Dream Sequence on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In a galaxy far, far away. No, babe, that's taken. We're in
Starting point is 00:16:32 our own world, remember? Right. In our own world, we're two space cadets and totally normal humans. Sure, totally normal humans. Embark on a journey across the stars, discovering the wonders of the universe one episode at a time. We'll talk about life, love, laughter,
Starting point is 00:16:49 and why you should never argue with your co-pilot. Especially when she's always right. Right, and if we hit turbulence, just blame it on Mercury retrograde. Or Emily's questionable space piloting skills. Hey, join us on In Our Own World for cosmic conversations, stellar laughs, and super corny dad jokes. Listen to In Our Own World as a part of the My Cultura podcast network available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And don't worry,
Starting point is 00:17:18 we promise to avoid any black holes. Most of the time. Señora Sex Ed is not your mommy sex talk. This show is la plática like you've never heard it before. We're breaking the stigma and silence around sex and sexuality in Latinx communities. This podcast is an intergenerational conversation between Latinas from Gen X to Gen Z. We're covering everything from body image
Starting point is 00:17:42 to representation in film and television. We even interview iconic Latinas like Puerto Rican actress Ana Ortiz. I felt in control of my own physical body and my own self. I was on birth control. I had sort of had my first sexual experience. If you're in your señora era or know someone who is, then this is the show for you. We're your hosts, Diosa and Mala, and you might recognize us from our flagship podcast, Locatora Radio.
Starting point is 00:18:12 We're so excited for you to hear our brand new podcast, Señora Sex Ed. Listen to Señora Sex Ed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And we're back. And Herschel Walker is still out here, you know, campaigning on hate speech.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Yeah. And saying just wild shit about trans rights, gay rights. And he continued to do so even after there was a massive terror attack on a gay bar in Colorado Springs that left five people dead. Unfortunately, two of the patrons stopped the shooter. Which was, the tweets about how two unarmed patrons stopped them,
Starting point is 00:19:03 everyone was just laying waste to like the republican logic where they're like wasn't a good guy with a gun yeah it was like two bar patrons like so by the republican logic two bar patrons should be at the entrance of every school um in the united states because it wasn't the police or anything like that yeah this was much better much more effective than uvalde so i think we need teachers to start drinking on the job. They already do, Jack. They already do. Right.
Starting point is 00:19:31 But like more officially. Yeah. Out in the open. So what was what was Herschel Walker saying this time? Because last I checked, he was like, you know, you know, a werewolf can kill a vampire. And everyone's like, what the fuck is he saying now? a werewolf can kill a vampire. And everyone was like, what the fuck is he saying now?
Starting point is 00:19:45 Uh, but they've been telling you that they don't know the definition of a woman either. So think about that either. They don't know the definition of a woman. I'm going to tell you the definition of a woman because it's written in my great book. It said a man and a woman.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Oh, and there's a difference between the two. Okay. What are the definitions within there? It did say that it did say a man and a woman and and there's a difference between the two okay what are the definitions within there it did say that it did say a man and a woman and there's a difference uh so that's the reason men shouldn't be in women's sport here's the difference but then yet they try to tell you a man could get pregnant we are always saying that jack honestly you reading a herschel walker quote gives it just dignifies what he says way too much because he doesn't even know what he's saying when he's up there.
Starting point is 00:20:30 It doesn't dignify. It sounded like a real thought. But it doesn't make, there's no logic to it whatsoever. Get that out of your head. He had a rally too where he was, first of all, I think he accused, like, he was trying to say Raphael Warnock was, like, abusing kids or something. And he was like, I know somebody who wants to, he, like, alluded to something like that. But then he's talked about how Archie Bunker wouldn't, I'm just, again, you don't know what he's saying, but he decided to bring up archie bunker at his senate rally he is a man out of cloth and like has he read the bible i read because they talked about forgiveness they said don't look
Starting point is 00:21:11 at this speck in your brother's eye look at the plank in your own eye you got to ask for forgiveness and he never asked for forgiveness and moved on he's still talking about the past we don't want to live in the past y'all can i tell you this here archie bunker wouldn't even be on air today would it not and i tell you what i used to love archie bunker did you not like archie bunker but because of senator warnock it wouldn't be on air because he's still living in the past you got to come to the future sir what okay so anyway it's okay to wait okay to be a bigot because you're archie bunker so warnock is living in the past because he wouldn't let something from the past on the future, on the TV, in the present. Well, Archie Bunker's from the past, obviously, I think.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Right, that's why I'm confused. The internal logic doesn't hold up here. Anyway, that's what I'm saying. When you read it out loud, it could sound more logically because you're even processing it in a way where you're trying to give it more meaning. All that to say is
Starting point is 00:22:05 stay away from him. Also, the shooting happened on the day that the LGBTQ community recognizes the Transgender Day of Remembrance by honoring all the transgender and gender non-conforming people killed by violence, at least 32 this
Starting point is 00:22:21 year. Yeah, we even talk about the focus on the family being based in colorado springs tomorrow's episode but yeah it's i mean all we're just living in a at present there's a place for people who are open to this kind of thinking to like ingest round the clock hateful rhetoric but then like those people will throw their hands up and say it's a conspiracy from people who are actually fighting for equality yeah that such violence happened the world cup is happening the world cup kicked off uh which is soccer i could give a fuck less yeah um i'm so fucking mad i mean i'm not mad i don't give a fuck i love soccer i love the fucking world cup i wish it was in the summer like it fucking
Starting point is 00:23:06 always has been i wish the the fifa process wasn't so fucking corrupted that it enabled you know 10 years of like forced labor to have these venues built in cutter i mean maybe you must not have seen the the head of fifa gave a cool speech oh of course i saw because every time i see something come up it was i think it was what infantinoino from FIFA who gave this speech trying to act like he was sympathy, like knowing obviously like what the issues are at the World Cup. He's like, no, like and at this World Cup, I too feel like I'm gay. I'm the migrant worker. I'm blah, blah, blah. And people are like, excuse me, sis head, like wealthy guy.
Starting point is 00:23:45 What are you saying? And he's like, and I know this because I had red hair as a child and was bullied. And you're like, okay. And then he did this thing, which is somewhat, I think is a genuine thing to bring up when like all these Western nations are like pointing the finger at cutter and being like, about these atrocities and he's like whoa who are they to speak uh you know and i'm like that's clever because if we were taking all these things in good faith that would actually bring up a moment to like have a reckoning with these things but it isn't and you know it's just kind of a it's a bit of a propaganda fest. And just like all the footage you see from fans or the stories you read from journalists there.
Starting point is 00:24:29 It's like one person got turned away from the, like going to the, I guess, USA Wales game because they had like a shirt with like a rainbow flag on it. And like the security is like, you can't wear that in here. Like you got to go. And, you know, also not to mention the whole beer thing that happened over the weekend yeah they said that they would be selling beer and then they pulled a bait and switched the last second they're like yeah man no beer in the fucking uh at the venues anymore because at first they were saying like budweiser has like a 75 million dollar deal like with fifa yeah and so but like the i guess the government of cutter was like
Starting point is 00:25:06 nah you know what we don't we can't have any alcohol near the venues anymore they're like but but you said we could have it like outside the venue as long as like but so the fans could have like some beer like nah but yeah but it does seem like it's too late for you guys to cancel huh so anyways uh go fuck yourself yeah and yeah the journalists and the people who are there like there's just real sochi vibes like this is bad place it feels evil here and all i mean but on top of it too like you're seeing there's also like all this counter activism that's happening like you know there were there are players like they're commentators who you know like some of the teams couldn't wear uh captain's armbands.
Starting point is 00:25:45 Like the captain wears an armband like on the field and that had like rainbow flags on them as a way to say, despite the stance of the, the nation here, we are standing in solidarity with like the LGBTQ community. Um, like some of the broadcasters, because like the teams were scared off.
Starting point is 00:26:01 FIFA was like, you'll get a yellow card if you wear that on the field. And so they, so like some of the yellow card if you wear that on the field. And so they, so like some of the broadcasters were wearing them on the broadcast to try and like still make the point. And you saw like with the Iranian national team, they played England. You know, they didn't even sing their national anthem.
Starting point is 00:26:17 A lot of people were like, wow, this is, they're apparently trying to, you know, protest what's happening in their own country at the moment, like on the heels of increased violence, or rather it hasn't stopped since all of the demonstrations have taken place. So there's just so much going on. And like on top of it, just the jingoism that comes out, it just feels a little different.
Starting point is 00:26:39 I like, yeah, it's the World Cup. I just wish it wasn't the summer and I wish FIFA wasn't such a fucked up organization, but, it's the World Cup. I just wish it wasn't the summer, and I wish FIFA wasn't such a fucked-up organization, but here it is. Here it is. And Kyrie is back, so that's great. No, that's terrible. He shouldn't be playing basketball.
Starting point is 00:26:58 Well, yeah. The other thing that's trending is Kyrie because the black Israelites pulled up to the Barclays center in mass and like we're like you know there to support the big homie kairi irving but yeah that's a yeah not a good look when a you know like a literal hate group are your most vocal defenders outside of the venue like if you've ever ever encountered black israelites uh you know because they might be like just saying the most homophobic like backwards regressive shit you've ever heard but yeah anyway so that was that was
Starting point is 00:27:31 all happening too so sports are coming alight this week jesus ben simmons is looking better past couple games so that's exciting okay yeah ad2 i mean there's that too yeah the other thing with the world cup i just want to touch on is like there I mean, there's that too. Yeah, yeah. The other thing with the World Cup that I just want to touch on is like there's this whole, there's like a whole narrative I keep seeing where they're like, this is Lionel Messi's last time
Starting point is 00:27:50 to win a World Cup. And I, that's possible. I'm not sure if that's going to be the case, but you know, who knows? Who knows?
Starting point is 00:27:59 Why did he say he might retire and they're just like running Well, at this point, four years after this, he's not going to look anything like how he does now. now so i think that's that's why a lot of people are like he's like the one of the greatest players of all time who hasn't won a world cup so you're saying that like you're you're not buying that it's going to be his last time or you're not buying that i'm not buying the argentina can win oh got it got it I just don't. Things he had, like, they have a lot of trouble at the World Cup.
Starting point is 00:28:28 But again, with the times and everything, it's also wild because I'm just sorry. I'm processing all this out. I normally watch so many World Cup matches. I know. And I've been completely. We've been on for four years now. Jesus Christ. Oh, Jack, we've been together two World Cups now.
Starting point is 00:28:45 Except for this shitty one. Right. And I guess the Russia one also had a lot of grime on it, too. Anyway, check out Lords of Soccer, the podcast that I helped produce, that goes into the corruption at FIFA and why we're having this terrible event at a time like this. Check it out. Alright, well those are some of the things that are trending on this
Starting point is 00:29:10 Monday afternoon. We are back tomorrow with the last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other, be kind to yourselves, get the flu shot, get the vaccine, get the booster, don't do nothing about white supremacy, and we will talk to you all tomorrow. Bye. Bye. Bye. 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed.
Starting point is 00:29:46 Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films and Shekinah Church. Listen to Forgive Me For I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. How do you feel about biscuits? Hi, I'm Akilah Hughes, and I'm so excited about my new podcast, Rebel Spirit, where I head back to my hometown in Kentucky and try to convince my high school to change their racist mascot, the Rebels, into something everyone in the South loves, the biscuits. I was a lady rebel. Like, what does that even mean? It's right here in black and white and prints.
