Starting point is 00:00:30 I'm Jess Costavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series, Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult. And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed. Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films and Shekinah Church. Listen to Forgive Me For I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:00:56 or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Keri Champion, and this is season four of Naked Sports. Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry. Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese. Every great player needs a foil. I know I'll go down in history. People are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's sports. Listen to the making of a rivalry. Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese on the iHeart on the iheart radio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcast presented by capital one founding partner of iheart women's sports hello the internet and welcome to this episode of reinzited uh i am jack that is miles and justin jones has been reinstated oh oh you're reignited reinvited and it feels so good oh reincited double lp world excited i was trying to uh shit so justin jones reinstated after the city council of nashville pretty much immediately voted to return him to the tennessee state house yep that
Starting point is 00:02:06 one that one kind of boomeranged uh and in the process they've just made justin jones and justin pearson like figureheads uh and it truly was like the obi-wan kenobi darth vader thing is like if you strike me down i will just become more powerful than you'll ever know uh and yeah he's back like it's funny because when he got when they voted to expel him he's like i'll see y'all monday and you know what he you're like they they they called that session to get him back and his ass was there and i was like yeah this is fucking cool but it just again shows you the how stupid the republicans are and that like they're just going for this thing like get the noisy black activist people out of here and thinking that that was going to
Starting point is 00:02:49 solve their problem by being all fast like that without realizing that the power rests with the people of that district to figure out like who's going to replace him yeah uh so yeah i don't know i feel like we're going to see a lot of that where it's they do a fascist thing. There's public outrage. And then sometimes they take it back when I mean, we're seeing that now. Yeah, it is about just about adjusting our vocabulary. So we're not just like, ah, those those old conservatives rather than these right wing extremists that become so normal now that we're fully like, oh, yeah, that's extremist shit, rather than that's the everyday talk of the party. Alvin Bragg is suing Jim Jordan for intimidation.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Yeah, because, you know, he's been screaming like since Trump has been indicted and he's like, it's a weaponized court system. And we're like, we got to pull him up here to know what the fuck's going on in New York. But yeah, Alvin Bragg sued him basically to say that I'm going to try and keep you from interfering with this fucking case, because that's all you guys are doing is meddling from D.C. and like inciting people and just making all kinds of problems. Apparently, it's a 50 page suit filed in the Southern District and accuses Jordan of, quote, a brazen and unconstitutional attack on the prosecution of Mr. Trump and a, quote, transparent campaign to intimidate and attack the district attorney, Alvin Bragg, who we've known is already in him and his family have received death threats. The judge and his family have received death threats. So, yeah, it feels like, you know, something that has to be done, unfortunately, because you have a whole group of, you you know the maga faithful that are just willing to cause as much instability as possible yeah are they like doing anything legally because i know that they had tried to like subpoena the guy who
Starting point is 00:04:37 was in charge of the district attorney's uh investigation into trump before have they like pulled any of that shit i'm not i mean they're trying to do stuff i don't i don't think anything has worked it's just been a lot of like we're gonna do it and then a lot of people like you league it's like really legally murky even what you're trying to do there you're not allowed to do it but oh i'm not okay but again same same pattern as before we're gonna storm the cap capital we're gonna kick them out of the legislature we're gonna you know haul them up here to have yeah answer and then you just say that and yeah eventually again like abortion you might catch the car and it might be a really bad thing for you in
Starting point is 00:05:20 the end but yeah so far yeah the the attacks don't seem to have stopped at all because it's they're they're all just they're all singing from the same hymnal there's a new mcflurry miles strawberry shortcake mcflurry which sounds good in my in my mind's eye and your mind's eye until you use your your your eyes until i use my eye eyes i i captain i keep an eye out and uh i say no no captain when i see what what they what this looks like so this is a thing that has been a very popular mcdonald's menu item internationally yeah um so when i hear strawberry shortcake mcflurry i'm picturing and this is crazy strawberries uh i'm picturing pieces of McDonald's. Jack, it's McDonald's.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Don't expect real pieces of fruit at McDonald's. So the strawberry shortcake McFlurry has what appears to it's it's like little pink pieces of like fruity pebbles. It looks like in there. And this is this is the product photograph. Like it's in a glass cup. in there and this is this is the product photograph like it's in a glass cup like it's in a glass that don draper would drink whiskey out of so like they're trying to make it look as good as possible but it looks like fruity pebbles flavored with as you pointed out like fiberglass insulation oh yeah that's definitely dupont yeah that's fiberglass insulation there was a fiberglass insulation cereal like it would look like this it has that pitched at one point anybody who's
Starting point is 00:06:49 done a little bit of you know building or housework you know that very unique pink hue of fiberglass insulation it's nailed it i think fiberglass fruity pebbles yamma yamma yamma my lungs are already thanking you but like the to, it looks like, did you ever eat Colonel Crunch bars that had an eclair topping on the outside? Or the strawberry shortcake ice cream bar? Yes. Yes. Strawberry shortcake. Yeah, that is what it looks like.
Starting point is 00:07:17 That's what it is. And it's just like those flavor rocks. I'm back on board, baby. That's why I'm like, i saw that because that was that was like my go-to is so weird i loved getting that ice cream truck that and um a screwball because i had the piece of gum at the bottom of it yeah um but yeah the strawberry shortcake like it's that sort of topping within it i'm i'm all for that no i mean it sounds like it's great it sounds like it's a i'm already struggling to not go to McDonald's
Starting point is 00:07:45 like multiple times a week because I believe my baby son wants that for me. It's the rationalization I'm using. But now it turns out it's probably not good for my long-term health. So this may just have to be a treat. Short-term happiness, though. You got to balance your short-term happiness in there.
Starting point is 00:08:01 Thanks, Dad. This recipe was developed by McDonald's chefs and features real lemon juice, bits of lemon pulp, and real cane sugar. What is this for? This is the strawberry shortcake. It's got lemon?
Starting point is 00:08:15 Yeah. I mean, when you taste real strawberry shortcake, the white cream dressing has a little lemony... White cream dressing? Yeah. Is that gross? That dressing. It's like the idea of calling it dressing like it's salad dressing i love the strawberry salad where is the lemon part at in strawberry shortcake i don't know where are you finding the wording i'm looking in the article i can't find the word sorry i went to food and wine miles who are also
Starting point is 00:08:42 writing about this rather than me looking at the sun like an absolute troglodyte i think i'm actually thinking about a different strawberry dessert because strawberry shortcake is just a lot of times that i've had it is just whipped cream strawberries and cake right yeah yeah yeah yeah now that my mom used to make this thing strawberries jessica which has a lemony whoa hold on that shit is really good i love when like those kinds of like 70s kind of recipes i was just like throwing a name at the end of it like yay we're having strawberries jessica yeah what the fuck is this that is apparently not a thing that uh it is called anywhere else because when i look up strawberries, Jessica, there's just somebody named Jessica strawberry on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:09:27 But I do see one that no strawberries, Jessica, it looks like a half cup of heavy cream, half cup of sour cream, a one to two tablespoons of sugar juice of half a lemon. Yeah. Add strawberries cut in half, then add one eighth to a quarter cup of vodka.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Oh shit. That explains my childhood. That explains a lot, actually. We were bombed on strawberries, Jessica. Hammered. Give me another strawberry, Jessica. What, Jack? I don't know why I say Jessica.
Starting point is 00:10:02 Anyways, I will probably try this at some point it seems like a limited time situation starting tomorrow maybe i won't get to it in time but look chances are i'm gonna be there after like uh being up with the baby that like sometimes i use that as like when i'm up with the baby i'm like you know what though i'm up to get mcdonald's breakfast the second they offer what's your sleep situation looking like these days sleep situation pretty good i'm he look we are blessed the guy's child on a good night sleeps about six hours wow and so right now we're slowly like not sleep training
Starting point is 00:10:39 but like emphasizing more eating during the day so he eats less during the night last night seven hours 40 minutes wow yeah and he's got thighs like christmas hams this book you gotta see it and he's a deep sleeper he's a deep sleeper but yeah it's it's it's been look fingers crossed you know i know there's like there's sometimes there's a bit of regression but it's like one of those things man like with when you when you raise a kid right there's so much so many fucking books out there and shit and half of them i feel like undermine your own ability to be confident in your parental skills yeah and you're like oh fuck the book i'm doing like not a single thing this book says but meanwhile like the kid's sleeping six hours and we're you know we're
Starting point is 00:11:24 able to like maintain this like pace of like having a newborn. And that's when I realized like I have to like, it's like you got to sift through the wisdom that's out there and find things that you incorporate and not being so rigid. That's the biggest lesson I've learned so far in my infancy as a parent. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't read any book. I mean, I read a couple and was like, these are conflicting. I read one, okay, I read this French
Starting point is 00:11:47 parenting book because all these people were like, oh, French parenting, French parenting, like what the fuck is this? And I just like to see other cultures' takes on parenting because it's written by an American raising her child in France. And then I just... You feed them, they smoke four or five cigarettes. Yeah, two or three bottles of red wine,
Starting point is 00:12:03 some sausages. That's kind of like how like but their needs are so fucking specific like very easy at this moment that i'm like i'm gonna look i'm more into vibe parenting i don't know if i get right or it's like yo i get what he wants and i know if he's sad and i'm addressing that and we're getting through it and he's sleeping and it's great. Pay attention and use all the good parts of your personality. Yeah, exactly. And his neck is strong as shit.
Starting point is 00:12:31 You know what I mean? Hey. The neck is fucking, and his kicks, man. He's about to almost broke my kneecap the other day. And those looks. I mean, serving. Oh my God. He's serving.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Serving Christmas ham. Serving Christmas ham. Ladies and gents uh let's take a quick break we'll be right back i'm jess casavetto executive producer of the hit netflix documentary series dancing for the devil the 7m tiktok cult and i'm cleo gray former member of 7m films and shekin Church. Starting point is 00:15:27 Daniel Thrasher, Peppermint, Morgan J, and more. You gotta watch us. No, you mean you have to listen to us. I mean, you can still watch us, but you gotta listen.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Like, if you're watching us, you have to tell us. Like, if you're out the window, you have to say, hey, I'm watching you outside of the window. Just, you know what? Listen to the Amber and Lacey, Lacey and amber show on will ferrell's big money players network on the iheart radio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts
Starting point is 00:15:52 and we're back i remember actually when our first was like that age and i was like you know you spent so much time and they're just like sitting there and you're like well maybe he's gonna absorb the i read so many like books to him that like that i don't know why it's just like so much wasted energy but i don't know it's something to do it's stimulating i think at the end of the day like i took that one like you should read to him i'm like he does not speak english so guess what i'm gonna hold up this stuffed animal and i'm gonna rap like dmx lyrics to him yeah because he laughs at that yeah you know what that's what it is right now and if he grows up and his first words are then i'll know we have a problem but i have a feeling yeah it's just about he's getting the eye contact he's hearing words he's getting dynamic sounds you know we're just working we're
Starting point is 00:16:51 doing bit by bit yeah um frank ocean headlining coachella five days brought him up coachella's coming up yeah um and this is gonna be his first live performance in six years. Wow. People are also reading the tea leaves on his statements. He said he's thinking about maybe starting to plan to work on more durational material. Oh. People are like, that means an album. It means an album, everybody. Or it doesn't. Or it could be, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:24 We don't know. Could be a performance art piece you don't know yeah i mean last time he dropped he dropped blonde on us he also dropped it with a hour and a half long performance art piece right we're like this is the album so let's just dig in and get used to it let's absorb it a classic like yeah seven days later i look i hope he he will show up i mean yeah i don't know why i'm laughing because it's just like one of those it's like a meme in live music of like yeah sure frank ocean's gonna be there yeah but at this point they're way too close to the day for him to to back out now. So please enjoy for that. Kanye pulled out a,
Starting point is 00:18:07 like pretty late. I think one time where it got canceled pretty late, but it wasn't this close. No. And they, they lined someone up. I mean, like it would be very easy to find replacements.
Starting point is 00:18:16 Cause most artists would, you know, bite your hand off at the offer to like headline Coachella. Yeah. Um, but yeah, I, I think that's part of me just being like,
Starting point is 00:18:25 fuck, man, that lineup. There's a lot of people I'd be down to see. I'm very jealous of everybody going to Coachella. Hey, but you know what? Hiatus Coyote, they're doing a show
Starting point is 00:18:32 in between weekends, and I'm going to go try and see that so I can still at least see Hiatus Coyote. In LA? Yeah. Nice. Chuck Schumer, Senate Majority Leader.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Charles E. Schumer. Yeah, Amy Schumer's cousin. Let us not forget. Okay, let us not forget the connections between comedy and the senate yeah this is the first time i'm learning he's senate majority leader i just know him as amy schumer's cousin oh that that wastrel um yeah he is offering he's gonna put up a resolution next week basically in response to donald trump's like repeated calls he's like he he you know he put on truth social um saying like he's like congress should quote defund the doj and fbi until they come to their senses for investigating me and so chuck schumer is like okay here i'm gonna do
Starting point is 00:19:16 something i mean i could be putting forward gun legislation but here let me put the republicans in a weird spot i'm gonna put up a like a resolution that would condemn these calls of trump to do that and would support that would support federal law enforcement so i'm gonna make you guys choose between trump and federal law enforcement y'all just let me know if that's check or checkmate yeah exactly when i'm like okay'm like, okay, sure. Like they don't give a fuck. No, it's going to fucking like, I bet half of them will vote against it because they're more concerned about
Starting point is 00:19:52 Donald Trump's reaction to their vote than anything, but a bit of a congressional gamery as it were. Yeah. It is fun to watch Ron DeSantis not be able to say anything about any of this. I know. Kind of say stuff. He is shook daddy. So shook.
Starting point is 00:20:11 I don't know why they think this is a good... I don't know, man. If you're really going to go for it and you want to take over the Republican Party, be like Jip Moretti in that season of boardwalk empire when he pulled up and people like yo oh this guy's a real problem we thought we had a problem this motherfucker is a problem uh because i mean trump's i'm like whatever i don't give a shit do whatever the fuck you're gonna do over there it's gonna be a fucking knife fight in the general election anyway so he uh i'm just saying learn the lesson of corliss williamson took took arizona
Starting point is 00:20:47 to the finals uh they went in the championship that year uh would have been the number one pick came back for another season yeah and was like the 14th pick yeah like not it happens so i don't know get get while the getting's good park you know not arizona did i say arizona yeah yeah yeah all right i recall jack you gotta go yeah go to bed go to bed there's some cinema that uh so beau is afraid is the new ari aster movie the dude who made hereditary and midsommar which i know film fans are really strong opinions on those films. Have you seen it? I haven't seen any of them because I'm just
Starting point is 00:21:30 like, I don't want to be scared. Hereditary was too scary. And I was like, I'm going to pause it. And really, I walked away from it because I'm too scared. I was like, yeah, I got something to do because I'm crying. Pretend someone's calling you from the other room. Yeah, Her Majesty's like,
Starting point is 00:21:46 no one's in here right now. Pause it. Actually, turn the TV off. I gotta get the door. You throw the TV out the window. Set it on fire. This one, very mixed reviews. This is Joaquin Phoenix.
Starting point is 00:22:01 The trailer looks like an acid trip. It's a good trailer, though. All his movies look very interesting to me. I'm just a baby. And also, I don't have that much time to watch stuff that my kids can't watch. Right, right, right. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:22:18 And they didn't like the opening of Hereditary. They were not feeling it. I told you. I told you they ain't built for it jack they're not ready for that tough enough uh and then charlie day uh is has a directorial debut come out called fool's paradise um that looks kind of fun worth a look at the trailer but it's basically he plays somebody in a an institutionalized person who looks like the star of a movie and they just like swap him in it's a dave oh yeah they've
Starting point is 00:22:53 a movie star uh so we're just going for off the rack ip now huh taking it straight off the rack and you're just swapping it out if i once caught a fish that was this big i remember kevin klein does that like at an automobile factory with like robot arms uh-huh and then you kept looking at sigourney weaver's thigh and that's how she knew something was up because she's like you never looked at me like that wow yeah that movie was good i remember liking that like as a 12 year old oh yeah i remember don't. I don't know why I was the same way. I was like, I want to buy Dave on VHS.
Starting point is 00:23:30 I'm like, I'm a big Ivan Reitman fan. Yeah. Um, and finally influencers are trending. Kellyanne Conway, V worried, V worried.
Starting point is 00:23:40 We were talking about this, Bob Biden's army of influencers that he's going to use to sway the election. And Kellyanne Conway is like, yeah, actually, that's a that's a that's kind of worrying me as a person who wants to bring an ethno state to the United States. what's at stake especially when messaging to young people because i'm not sure what the stat is but there's something about like around over 10 or so 15 million gen z kids that are going to be like a voting age by the time the general swings around in 2024 so i'm sure you look at those and you're like oh yeah they hate guns and they like body autonomy and the climate so this is kellyanne conway just kind of gaming it out loud on fox so we can't be beaten um on this policy wise i think we've already won the policy arguments on the economy on education on a number of issues you're killing we've got some work to do on
Starting point is 00:24:36 the young people who think um differently on abortion perhaps or guns or climate change but even there maybe some work messages are usually cynical oh the place i'm really concerned the thing i'm really concerned about with this laura is that the left becomes a turnout machine with young people because influencers have this domino effect lemming like effect of people just all them wanting to be part of the same crowd and if they succeed in that way we're not doing a great job competing for ballots we're just competing for votes our candidates lost the early voting anyway enough of that uh i think you you actually assess ballots versus competing for votes is that like uh they stole the election
Starting point is 00:25:16 talking point what does that really mean i don't know it doesn't matter jack because at the end of the day she's saying stuff like we're on the wrong side of things like abortion guns and climate maybe maybe we have some work and they're lem but they're lemmings though yeah like you're not gonna solve it if that's your if your next thing is yeah there's they're lemmings though it's not because of the fucking existential threat that these issues pose to people yeah we gotta do a better job of appealing to these lemming dipshits well because they've back they've painted themselves into the anti-woke corner right you know what i mean there's never we're never gonna hear them say you know what folks i think we we had the whole body autonomy thing completely wrong no we had it all wrong we should
Starting point is 00:26:04 not have we should not have gone so hard on restricting abortion access for people. That was a dumb move. Miles, they just have some work to do. We just have some work to do to basically negate their votes. That's what it is. And they use the
Starting point is 00:26:20 guise of like, oh God, what are we going to do about messaging? We see the business of Republican state houses and stuff. They're all in for negating the votes that's all that's the solution it's not to meet people where they're at so yeah we'll keep doubling down folks and we'll just watch and whore yeah all right well those are some of the things that are trending on this tuesday april 11th we are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Get the vaccine. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we will talk to y'all tomorrow. Bye. Bye.
