zuckerberg and now people keep there's just like a steady drum beat of people trying to make it a thing yeah i i don't know i don't know i don't know what it is no i don't care at the moment i this this couple that got fucking married in the metaverse looks like jeff bezos and like some character from mid summer somar however you want to say that it just like this new york times article is so absurd it says getting married in the metaverse one couple's recent nuptials in the virtual world known as the metaverse showcase the possibilities of having a wedding unfettered by the bounds of reality oh fuck off that sounds like a fucking brochure.

The New York Times is doing SponCon, like, for sure, right? If they're not officially doing sponsored content, there is, like, some broad directive from above that, like, we need to buy into whatever this bullshit version of reality is that we've kind of been pot committed on since the 90s of like neoliberalism so um let's just go out there and put on a brave face and pretend the

metaverse is the thing um yeah this there's like even they even talked to a wedding planner who's like yeah i'm just trying to see how this could factor into my business you know people can take a their friends on a space rocket for the wedding. Like, I don't give a, I'm not on a fucking space rocket. So shut the fuck up. I'm in my motherfucking house. Right. What are you saying to me?

It'd be one thing if like, and I'm sure this is where the metaverse would probably be headed is that that like virtual reality wearable stuff is gonna get so vivid that you would think your stinking ass was on a fucking rocket ship but right now it looks like a bunch of minecraft orgies happening and i don't care yeah um so i don't know if this is uh you know us just shaking our cloud out of fists being old or if this is oh my it is fucking stupid spawn con it is basic well i'll tell you that's because this couple right they're talking the the whole piece like the whole thrust of this is to talk about this couple this fucking i'll announce dave and tracy ganyan who are 52 and 60 respectively and they said the this is i just want to read this first part right because this is where it gets you realize where it all hangs out tracy and dave uh met in the cloud so it only made sense that their wedding

took place in it on labor day weekend the couple or rather their digital avatars held a ceremony staged by verbella a company that builds virtual environments for work learning and events these two fucking stooges work for verbella oh okay so like they only did it to big up their company you know what i mean like yeah yeah but the new york times wrote about it on their own like without being this is where i don't know and i don't care but it clearly it's more insidious this way like that's that's what's so fucked is because like right they have to yeah they own so far down to know this they own uh communication now like uh neoliberalism and like that sort of uh world of billionaires uh owns how we communicate with one another that's a very bad thing it's just really fucked up and this is this is an even more like aggressive version of that

uh like the foreign minister who had tested positive for uh for covid i said cocaine tested positive for covid and i think the she was apparent she was saying she was told that like look you don't need to isolate because you've been fully vaccinated but then later she got a text like yo you should actually like you need to isolate this you've had a close contact but she left her work phone at home so she didn't get the message and it just feels very human to me oh so she didn't leave her phone at the at the club she left it at home yeah i think she forgot it and then she didn't have it with her at the club the prime minister forgot the work phone because you're trying to you know that's aspirational like that's something i aspire to

So she has a new, it's a makeup line that she dropped. And, you know, with it, a series of photos that seem to be heavily inspired by photo shoots of an Asian woman. And her makeup seems to be,

you know, is leading to accusations of Asian fishing, which is when a non-Asian attempts to look Asian for their profit or benefit, according to the daily dot. Yeah. Whether or not it's that, I mean, like this is,

this is the thing I think Ariana Grant, I mean, this is the thing I think Ariana Grande has been able to benefit from is her sort of relative ethnic ambiguity can do these things where it's like, no, I'm not trying to look black. I just might have more of a tan. I'm not trying to look Asian. that she just like took the look of for for this photo shoot um so yeah i mean there's a lot of back and forth people saying like you, defending her, which is shocking. I know that there are people defending a famous person. But, yeah, I don't know. I mean, this shouldn't be surprising because we see this all the time with seemingly white presenting pop stars. They go through phases where they will use their you know proximity to black or brown culture to give them some cred a little bit of swag then suddenly be like oh i was never doing that that's actually like i don't do stuff like remember miley cyrus when that was her whole

fucking you know mike will made it phase and suddenly she's like no no no that was just to get some i was just out there in my twerker phase not doing anything for the culture except be a vulture right um but yeah this is i'm i can't say i'm shocked at all yeah all right well those are some of the things that are trending on this wednesday afternoon we are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show.
