Starting point is 00:00:05 The mouth is full of hard-boiled eggs. So that's how I'm doing. Did you eat some or is it just random? Medical condition. I went to the dentist today. Instead of putting cotton balls to my mouth and stuck the war-boiled eggs. I was eating hard-boiled eggs and chicken off the top of a chicken salad that I have. but try to get my protein in too.
Starting point is 00:00:39 You know what I mean? Yeah, protein milk. I get it. You got to get my macros, brother. Chicken eggs, chicken meat, and did you have chicken milk, too? You can't do it all? The entire chicken reproductive is like, chicken milk is so right. Chicken milk.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Chilk, it's called chilk. From the makers of silk. Soy milk. We also have chill. Just a really cloudy broth. It's just like chicken broth. Just rendered chicken fat. Actually delicious.
Starting point is 00:01:20 Hope this chicken thing continues for the entire podcast. Yeah. This is a chicken podcast. I mean, that's a thing in Japan. There's a thing we eat called Oyako Domburi, which is Oyako, which means parent and child,
Starting point is 00:01:34 because it's chicken with an egg on top. Yeah. So, you know, mother and child. People are thinking about, yeah, it's the mother and child. Oh,
Starting point is 00:01:42 can have a mother and child bowl? Yes, you may. I like your child. Scrambled. All right, is everyone recording? Yes,
Starting point is 00:01:50 I am. Should I stop and just record now? No, no, we're just going to use chicken milk stuff or something. It's going to be whittled down to maybe like 48 seconds of chicken stuff.
Starting point is 00:01:58 Yeah. Sounds good. Sounds good. And that is, that's Justin's editing philosophy. All the time. Always editing it down to 48 seconds of chicken stuff.
Starting point is 00:02:09 Whatever chicken stuff he can get. This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. The new Red Bull Dragonberry Berry and Tropic Berry Energizers now at McDonald's made with freeze-dried fruit
Starting point is 00:02:29 and an electric burst of flavor. The all-new Red Bull Energizers now at McDonald's. This product may not be right for you. In caffeine, details on McDonald's.ca.ca. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I chose option B.

Starting point is 00:05:00 of iHeart radio it's a podcast where we take a deep dive into america share consciousness through the day's news we also have a new non-news history version of tdz drop each monday morning called the iconograph where we do a deep dive into the Zikeis through the lens of a different icon. We have recently done Madonna Chaconi, aka you might just know her as Madonna. Me and her, we're on a first and last name basis. Garfield and we got Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming up. We also just reram the Dolly Parton episode.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Lots of good stuff coming down the pike there. Those are the episodes that drop on Monday with a different logo and icon in the title. But right here right now, it is Friday, September 4th, 2026. Fucking National Wildlife Day. It's College Colors Day. Shout out the blue and gold to UCLA. It's National Kianti Day. Have that with your Fava Beans while you eat somebody's face off.
Starting point is 00:05:58 National Food Bank Day. National Macadamian that day. All right. Yeah. I think I like all those things. Yeah. Please don't need to Food Bank because September 4th. Shit is not easy out there.
Starting point is 00:06:09 I know. Still lines around the block. And Democrats, Republicans still having trouble grasping that very simple concept that things are falling apart pretty rapidly around them, despite what the stock market is saying. Yeah. The stock market looks good. The stock market looks good. So that's what I'm focused on. Yeah. Hey, if it's a K-shaped economy, glad I'm on that top part of the K.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Hey, top part of the K, high five. Yeah. K-shaped economy. I'm just doing ketamine and ignoring reality all around me. So, yeah, we're doing all right. K-shaped, K-fuel. My name's Jack O'Brien, aka flapping around like a jacking. Oh. That one, courtesy of dope-ass mailman on the Discord.
Starting point is 00:06:51 So dope. The only place I ask people to separate the art from the artist. Yeah. Is Chris Dalia's Eminem impression? It's tough. That's tough. It's a tough one, man. It's a tough one, man. It's so good.
Starting point is 00:07:05 I don't know if you want to say that out loud. Ah, that one's That's pretty good From the Predator I'll lose Annie Hall But come on Give me Chris DeLea's Eminem impression
Starting point is 00:07:18 That he did while driving And then Never again I got a couple Chris Delea stories Uh oh I'm sorry Is this comic unleashed
Starting point is 00:07:29 I just got one quick One quick Chris Delia story That's not even my story But years ago Before he got canceled Do you know John Mils seen either of you, funny comedy guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Yeah. Anyway, great guy. He has a story that he was like in the parking lot of 7-Eleven or something. And this was before Christalia was canceled, but he was famous at the time. And he saw Christalia just like chug a big gulp in his car, unroll, roll down his window, put his arm out, just drop the, drop the empty big gulp litter, and then drive away. Jesus. Like, it's one thing. It's one thing to be a predator, but to just like blatantly litter in front of random people.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Like a cartoon character? It's a cartoon. It's so unbelievably funny. All right. I'm no longer going to ask you to separate the art from the artist. When it comes to Chris Dalyas Evan Frikesh. Sorry to ruin the mystique of this persona for you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Fuck. Thrill to be joined, as always, by my co-host, Mr. Miles Gray. It's Miles Gray, aka Dean Kane is kind of Japanese. Dean Cain is kind of Japanese. I really think so. Shout out Arch Cam Cam, because, yeah, we were talking about the MAGA Shark Tank show that's going to be unveiled with Nicky Nimanage as one of the judges, hosted by Dean Cain, who I was saying, and he's kind of Japanese.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Famed business. He is. He is. He is one of my kind of Japanese brethren. He is half Japanese. Is that right? I think he's a quarter. A quarter.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Okay. Yeah. Miles were thrilled to be joined in our third seat by a hilarious comedian. an actor. You've seen, I do have to keep mentioning this because it's one of my favorite pieces of media in the world
Starting point is 00:09:11 in the classic insider trading, Brian's hat courtroom sketch from I think you should leave. You've seen him performing stand-up on stages and televisions across the land on Comics Unleashed. Just filmed that yesterday. The host of the wonderful show podcast
Starting point is 00:09:26 but outside, it's Andrew Michal! Andrew! Thank you guys for having me. Always honored to be here. You always bring such fun energy. And yeah, it's just a beautiful day.
Starting point is 00:09:39 Beautiful day to be here with y'all. Thank you. Thank you. I did ever since we were talking about chickens when we first started before we started recording. I've had the thought. This is gross. Thanks for privacy.
Starting point is 00:09:52 The thought went into my head. It's probably in the heads of anybody who listened to the cold open, assuming that the cold open, as Justin promised, got edited down to 48 seconds of chicken stuff. What about chicken cum? Like we have the chicken eggs.
Starting point is 00:10:08 Right. Oh my God. Like that it's the last piece of, we talk chicken milk. Oh, boy. You're talking about chum, right? Chicken come? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:18 Oh, yeah. You haven't had chum? You haven't had that fried up and your scrambled eggs? No, it's like a sauce. I mean, it's a sauce. I'm actually vegan, but I do do chum because it's pleasurable. They enjoy coming. So, yeah, I put chum sauce on my vegan eggs and, yeah, all sorts of stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Wow. I don't even know. When chickens mate, it's called the cloacal kiss. Oh, cloaca. They got cloacas, huh? And they said, it's real quick, bro. Yeah. They just get it done.
Starting point is 00:10:49 No, a stroke game from the boy chickens. All right. Well, I apologize for that. Andrew, we're thrilled to have you here. We're going to get to know you a little bit better in a moment. First, we're going to tell the listeners a couple of things. We're talking about today. We're going to keep it relatively
Starting point is 00:11:06 Besides come, we're going to talk about a new danger of AI which is letting it plan your hike. That's apparently not a good, that is the sort of thing that I feel like a lot of people like I've heard people be like,
Starting point is 00:11:22 yeah, we like planned this, we planned a trip with AI. So just a call, just a quick note on that. We're going to talk about the new trend in marketing which is fake heists or real heists that seem fake.
Starting point is 00:11:39 I don't know. Now we're going to look at the acting work of Gal Godot. I have not been keeping up for some reason. Oh, man. I haven't seen the murder on the Nile. I didn't see the Snow White movie. The woke Snow White. Do you see Wonder Woman?
Starting point is 00:11:57 I saw Wonder Woman, which like that one bordered on Terminator to me where it was like, there's something, because she's supposed to be, like, sort of alien, like from a different land. Yeah, it was like, the acting being bad, like, kind of was fine for me, like, in the same way that, like, Schwartzneger's acting in The Terminator, you're like, well, I'm not taken out of it
Starting point is 00:12:20 by the roboticness of him, you know? Yeah, yeah. But a new movie dropped, and people are being really mean to Gal Gadot in terms of her performance. It's called Thurban. runner. Yeah. And it's literally just somebody going on a jog and then
Starting point is 00:12:36 the movie taken happens to them essentially. If you love bad movies, this is right up your alley. Yeah, I'm kind of impressed by your fucking alley. I had to, I had to because every, like, the immediate response is like, this is one of the lowest, like, tomato scores
Starting point is 00:12:52 you've seen from the critics, like, the score. And then, but then you get these like counter articles that are coming out to like, despite like the, the bad the criticisms, the runner is sky rocketing up the prime charts and I'm like wow your publicist is working overtime for that because I think people are just morbidly curious at this point. Hasbara. It's like, yeah. Yeah. This is actually, oh, it's the most moral film. It's the most moral film on prime.
Starting point is 00:13:17 That's right. Yeah. So we'll talk about that. But before we get to any of that, Andrew, we do like to ask our guest, what is something from your search history that's revealing about who you are? Well, I just, um, yesterday I searched, uh, how, long after dental surgery can my dogs do stuff? Because both my dogs are having dental surgery on Saturday. It's elective. They're just losing the teeth weight. And I just, you know, it's summer. It's summer all the time in Southern California. It's always bikini season. And they, you know, they're a little long in the tooth or maybe heavy in the tooth. And yeah, so we're getting rid of some of their teeth for, for aesthetic reasons. And I wanted to go camping the next day. Like my girlfriend's like,
Starting point is 00:14:02 we should go camping. It's Labor Day weekend, blah, blah, blah. And I was like, I don't know if the dogs are going to be okay, like, 24 hours after surgery to be in the woods. And it turns out they're not. So we're going to have a couple days at home. They're going to be chilling. And come Wednesday, though, they're going to be looking real good. So it'll all be working. I was like, you're referring to like your friends who are having oral surgery. My dogs, so my dogs can go do stuff with me. Yeah, I mean, you know, I'm trying to hang out with my boys, you know. I actually just did have like a boys weekend. I went to a bachelor party last weekend for the first time in a long time. It was fun. But it was a bachelor party for my friend who is in an open relationship.
Starting point is 00:14:41 And I'm like, we ain't mourning anything about your freedom. Like, you're good. You're good, dude. Yeah. He had a great time. Yeah, it's like, he could sleep with someone that weekend and we wouldn't even have to keep it a secret. Like, he's good. You know, yeah, yeah. What city did you go to? Was it a... It went to Denver. That's why I kind of was like, because we all had to travel pretty far and spend money. and I'm like, but you're going to be a bachelor forever. Yeah, right. Monogamy isn't a thing that we have to warn. Yeah, it's like going to a funeral for someone immortal or something.
Starting point is 00:15:11 It just didn't really add up. But we had a fun time. We had a fun time. Yeah. I like the idea that you make all your friends get veneers. Yeah, if you go. I mean, we want to match. You know, I want to match my boys.
Starting point is 00:15:24 Look, I mean, when we're out in the town and we're smiling at chicks, we want to all look the same. Yeah. We all want it to look like one. One big tooth. One white line across our gumline. Like, I guess that is technically what Lauren Michaels is like, right? He just...
Starting point is 00:15:40 Does he make everyone get veneers? He got weird teeth. That's how you know that he is like investing in your career. He's like, I know a truth guy. And yeah, this is one of the great Jamie Loftus's obsessions. It's just like tracking anytime an S&L performer gets veneers. I love it. It's on.
Starting point is 00:16:00 I love it. You're in his orbit. You're good. That's so funny. Like, to the point, because, like, I think Amy Poehler is one of the first people. She's like, yeah, he was like, I'll pay for them. Yeah. Wow.
Starting point is 00:16:13 Get that mouth fixed, girl. Yeah. This ain't, this ain't upright citizens brigade show on Comedy Central. What that mouth food? Not what I want it to. Yeah. Let me put it that way. I've got one, yeah, one note, Amy.
Starting point is 00:16:25 Your teeth. Yeah. Can we change them? Yeah. How funny would it be if instead he had. had done the exact same thing, but with breast implants for the entire last 50 years. Just every woman on Estabal, like, after a year to. It's just happening every time.
Starting point is 00:16:43 That was mad TV, probably. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was. Yeah, I famously, the first question he asked people is, how do you feel about wigs? Yeah, yeah. You know you got it. Oh, really? And then, like, two years later, if he's like, how do you feel about your teeth?
Starting point is 00:16:58 That's, you're like, oh, shit. Funny. How do you feel about Christ? What? No, that's just my question from job interviews. What is something you think is underrated? Apparently, you know, I've been journaling a little bit lately. And, yeah, I mean, it's like my girlfriend told me to do it.
Starting point is 00:17:19 And it's been nice. I think, you know, it's so easy to, I don't know, be sucked into the digital world. And I don't know. I think, I mean, I go to therapy and stuff like that. and that's obviously helpful, but I don't know, just kind of, I feel like it's so rare that you put pen to paper, you know, unless you're specifically trying to. And I feel like you get something out of, and it doesn't even have to be journaling. I don't know. Just putting pen to paper is something that I feel you lose in life. And it's been nice to do a little bit of that. When you journal, are you like reflecting on your own emotions? Is it a recap of your day? It's like a gratitude journal that I am doing. So it's kind of like starting every day and ending every day with like things that I'm grateful for. And that kind of is a good perspective shift in terms of just like you get so stuck in your own set ways. And, you know, you can feel dissatisfied with certain aspects of your life. But when you also recognize what you're thankful for, that's helpful.
Starting point is 00:18:10 And then in the back, there's space for just like freestyle journaling if you want to just talk about things. The gratitude. Oh, so you read that piece about Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, how they just did that every day. That's how we stay around. And we're all grateful for them. And we're so grateful for them. That's number one on my gratitude list. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:27 is a number two Sanchez Sometimes it switches Sometimes Lauren gets the top spot Jeff gets the number two spot I don't know And that's what's beautiful about gratitude You know it can it can ab and flow
Starting point is 00:18:39 Yeah Yeah How do you compare that to Grand Theft Auto 6 though dog Like that sounds more boring than Grant theft auto 6 Yeah it looks good Did you see that tweet that was like There was like a community note on a tweet Where they were like
Starting point is 00:18:52 Oh the the driving in this game is so bad everyone is stuck at this light, this green light because the car is in the wrong lane turning left. And then there was a community note on Twitter that was like, oh, no, this happens all the time in Miami. Like, this is not. Like, you are. This is actually realistic thing. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:09 I saw that this morning and it really made me laugh. That is, are there cities where, because L.A. famously, you get two cars after the light turns, you get two cars going. Three, if the person's in a hurry. After a red light, yeah. If you're turning left. Oh, you're a three. Wow. Oh, you're three.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Yeah, yeah. I don't give a fuck. I'm a two and I get real mad if somebody stops at one. When you go? How often do we do this? Fucking go, you fucking idiot. Are you serious? My kids are like, what?
Starting point is 00:19:40 And I'm like, they didn't break the law. They didn't break the law like we all agree that they're supposed to. But I do feel like the two cars going at a red light left turn signal is what's keeping L.A. afloat. You know, like if we lose that. It's all shutting down. The whole, the city would not work. Well, because in New York, they go early.
Starting point is 00:20:01 That's the thing where, like, when it turns, they just, yeah, it's called the Pittsburgh left or the New York left. I've heard it both ways. But it's illegal for sure, right? Like Miami just, like, doesn't have one. I don't know if the Pittsburgh left is illegal. It's just dangerous. You know what I mean? Because, like, people just gun it to hit that left turn before people actually end up crossing into the intersection.
Starting point is 00:20:21 Right, yeah. I'm familiar with the move. Yeah. I just did it for the first time. with my wife and child in the car. My congrats, man. And, dude, her majesty was like, she's like, whoa.
Starting point is 00:20:34 She was like, she got turned on. She was low-keyed turned on. She was like, she jokingly said. She goes, I didn't know I was with a man. Wow. I didn't know we were living our life a quarter mile at a time. Yeah, yeah. Damn, didn't you?
Starting point is 00:20:51 Exactly. And then she said, Remember we're going to Pramani brothers for a sandwich? Yeah. She just immediately handed you. Yeah. She just handed you her pink slip. She's like,
Starting point is 00:20:59 you can have my pink slip. You win, you win. There you go, yeah. Hey, we're going up there? All right. Hard, we are. Yeah, come on, Miles. Andrew, what is something you think is overrated?
Starting point is 00:21:09 Sorry, let me, I have this written down. In your journal. No, I just. Why do you just read your journal to us? Yeah. Let's do that. What's like the most bummer page on your journal. No, this fits.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Okay, this fits actually. I think Val. L.A. is overrated. Okay. I don't need, I don't need some young gun manhandling my car without me, you know. Stealing my weed. Look, I'm not a cuck, you know, I don't like to see another man drive my car. Some of you other people out there you seem to really be into seeing a young buck driving your car.
Starting point is 00:21:41 That's crazy, bro. You paying for another man to handle your whip like that? That's crazy, bro. How much did you pay for that? I toss them the keys and then I turn around and get the passenger side. and start jacking off. Yeah, parallel park this fucker. Do whatever you want.
Starting point is 00:22:02 Do it. Go nuts. Jesus Christ, man, what are you doing in here? Sorry, sorry. I'll be quiet. You're right. Give them the keys and then I hide in the back under a coat. But no, I mean, give me a wide open parking lot any day.
Starting point is 00:22:14 I don't need a valid. I think that's when, like, I'm, as someone who grew up in L.A., like, I hate when I, like, it's like, dude, this place is in such a fucked up dense, like congested area, like, you might have to valet in order to, like, not walk 20 minutes. And I end up not wanting to go to places like that. Totally. And in situations like that, where there's no other option, it's like a private garage, I understand. But I hate when a normal parking lot gets turned into valet, as if it's an upgrade. And I'm like, no, this is much worse. I don't have to deal with this every time I park. They're like, wait, you're just parking it right there. I know. I can park it. Yeah, and they take all the prime spots. It's like they get rid of all the
Starting point is 00:22:48 good spots you could normally have and instead it's valet only i don't like valet so you go into a valet like a restaurant that has valet parking you turn in around and going going out and finding your own spot on the street yeah yeah yeah yeah the first thing i do is like when i'm like a quarter mile out from the destination that's when i start scanning for spots i'm like because you live like a quarter mile at a time as we established earlier that's right that's my guy bro it's how you know we're family bro we're family. I was wearing a tank top, rippling arms.
Starting point is 00:23:21 I've got a goose suit on, a corona. Fake muscle suit on. You're so mad that people are saying you look like mooky bets. Yeah. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:23:31 God, deesle. Damn it, man, I'm going for fucking our boy. What do you? Gino Toretto. Don,
Starting point is 00:23:39 Dom Toretto. Dom Toretto. Mookie Toreto. Is that a racist? Gino Toreto. I'm sorry. Pisan Torreto, right? Is that his name?
Starting point is 00:23:50 I don't know what it was. Yeah. I'm going for Mooki Torreto. All right. Let's take a quick break. We'll come back and talk about why you shouldn't use AI to plan hikes. We'll be right back. The new Red Bull, Dragonberry and Tropic Berry Energizers now at McDonald's,
Starting point is 00:24:13 made with freeze-dried fruit and an electric burst of flavor. The all-new Reds. Bull energizers. Now at McDonald's. This product may not be right for you. High in caffeine, details at McDonald's.cai at participating Canadian restaurants excluding Quebec. When I was 14 years old, I was kidnapped and held captive for nine months. I survived, and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart, and these are the Survivor Files. I just remember this low, taunting voice next to my ear saying shut up, don't say anything.
Starting point is 00:24:51 Every week, I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable. I knew if he woke up, without a doubt, he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed, and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. But these aren't stories about what's taken from them. There's stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the Survivor Files with Elizabeth Smart on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. Starting point is 00:27:30 We host the podcast Hollywood Handbook on the Big Money Players Network. Our show is extremely accessible to first-time listeners. Each week, we talk to someone in show business, aka the biz, and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. Everyone has a good time and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, not that great. Actually, can you help me shape this? How about we flip it on his head, right?
Starting point is 00:27:57 How about we flip this script? What is the surprise woman? Actually, you think is the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird. Adam Scott. This entire time, you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to the, visit the show. I would never expect. I would never set expectations
Starting point is 00:28:20 for something like that to happen. If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I'm open to it. I'm always going to accept. You know, Danny McBride, fine. Yeah, it's all this fragile masculinity. Exuding. I could smell it walking down the hallway, to be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:28:37 I was like, is that weed? Nope, it's fragile masculinity. Ben Stiller, no. Because a lot of times out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is. You know what I mean? They're like, oh, what's a state. Everyone's so dumb except for you. And fake.
Starting point is 00:28:53 Right, fake and also not interested or just like, oh, I've got my life. I don't care about your life. And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcast. or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. And sounds like you were planning an outdoor excursion.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Yeah. Yeah. Potentially. And I did use AI for the entire thing. Yeah. What do I pack? No, I just every day I basically just use AI and I just type in, what do I do today? And it tells me what do I write in my journal this.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Yeah. AI takes care of your journaling for you. Yeah, yeah. No, I've never used AI. I never will. But anyway, what's, what it would do? it do wrong this week. Oh, man. I think the one thing that's so consistent about AI, like, across the board is like, it's, it's really enabling people to not fucking use their brains at all.
Starting point is 00:30:00 Yeah. Like for the most simple things like our eyes could even like solve for us or just asking another person. There's like even though a few small studies that I've been pointing to like this exact thing that like people who are like really over like using a ton of large language models or chat bots and things. It's like diminishing their critical thinking skills and it's also affecting their memory because like they're just, the brain is just not even, you're just like, let me type the thing into that, give me the answer. Um, so I have you yet been, have you ever like had somebody be like, yeah, and this was actually, I just made this with AI and been like, I'm really impressed with like how, like it's always just like, yeah, like it seems like, you know, kind of half asked and
Starting point is 00:30:46 like you just sort of pushed it through. Like it's always a surface level thing where it's like, oh, slideshow. And it's like not, there's not really thought put into it. Yeah. Just no. Yeah. So this latest story about some amateur hikers that used AI to plan their hike up one of the highest peaks in California, Mount Shasta, ends in just such a predictable way.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Here's the local. And not depressing. It could have ended at a worse. No, no, no, no. No one, no one died. Victory? Victory? Is that the principal? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:19 They submitted the mountain in record time, actually. Cool, cool. This happened Monday. Three men from Roseville told the Siskiw County Sheriff's Department that they used Google Gemini to choose the route and decide what to bring, essentially what to pack for the trip. But the hikers didn't have enough food, water, or emergency gear. That's because they were expecting an eight-hour climb. Instead, it took them 16 hours. hours to reach the top.
Starting point is 00:31:47 Then they got lost on their way down. One hiker injured his knee. Bottom line here, they had to be rescued on the mountain. Cool. Yeah. They do an interview with like the sheriff who had to rescue them. And he's like, yeah, the AI just kind of downplayed the whole scenario, told them you don't need a lot of food or water. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:13 I mean, any cursory search. Like, I get that these people think that like, oh, just use Gemini because it's, it got us through college or whatever. But even if you just Googled it, right, you'd find all these things written by people who are like, maybe it's like Reddit on like mountaineering subreddits or just even like the beginner's guide to Mount Shasta that's put out there by people like that like live near the mountain. They're all saying like, dude, if you're experienced, you could probably get up there pretty quickly. But it's like plan for like maybe two days. And that makes about the right sense if they got up in 16 hours. Then, yeah. But it's also crazy to me because eight hours is not a small hike.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Like, it's not like it was a small hike and it turned into a long hike. It was a pretty long hike and it turned to an extremely long hike. Like, you think they would have been more prepared even undertaking an eight hour hike, period. Or, yeah, if it goes, if Gemini's saying, yeah, it's going to be eight hours to summit Mount Shasta, and you're an hour eight of your hike and you're halfway up, you probably go, just based on what we took here. I don't know if we're going to have enough shit on us. I don't think we're going to make it, guys, to go, to get up there and come back down in time. But to be fair, maybe this is Mount Shasta's fault, and maybe if they had Wi-Fi on the mountain, they could have Geminied their way out of it. I think that's really who's to blame here.
Starting point is 00:33:33 There wasn't enough service. Hour 10, all right, Gemini, you screwed us. Now what? Keep going, bro. It's fine, man. Don't let the haters get you down. That's a great question. And it shows you're an adventurer.
Starting point is 00:33:44 So I think keep on, keep on forging ahead. Like to not even have enough food or water is just so. But like that's the thing is that they, they're like, how long will it take and how much food and water should we, should we, you know? Like, they ask, they expect these AI, like, clients to, like, be able to do the whole thing and tell you, like, everything. Like, make a list of like, okay, what are all the things I need? And it fucks up, like, most of the time. We took a perfectly good, like, research tool in.
Starting point is 00:34:14 Google and turned it into something that gives you a single wrong answer. And the ultimate thing is that AI is not, these are not things that think. They are things that predict the next word that's most likely. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Is that correct? And like pulling like an average of the answers on the internet, but frequently getting it wrong. You can't ask what day of the week it is, right?
Starting point is 00:34:40 I mean, it'll just get it wrong. Andrew, that's not fair. That's not one of its strengths. or how to spell strawberry. Numbers. It's not good at numbers either, but... Because, again, I don't use the technology at all. But, like, I don't understand why, you know, people I know who are smart rely on it for facts when it...
Starting point is 00:34:59 That's not its strong suit, right? Like, I'm sure it's useful for some things, but facts is not what it does. I'm waiting to see its strong suit. Yeah. And also just like... Sure, I agree, but... It's completely, like, degrading our sense of community, too. But pre-AI, you'd be like, you'd ask your friend, your crunchy friend who,
Starting point is 00:35:13 who hikes all the time. Yeah. Hey, dude, I think I'm going to do Shasta. Like, what do I got to do for that? Or if you don't know that person, you'd go to like the, wherever you're getting a hiking equipment or the fucking internet or something to find out what other human beings who have done that can share their experience with you. But it's, I guess now just easier to be like, it'll just, I think in their minds,
Starting point is 00:35:35 they think it's combing every available answer. And what is the best answer from all of that? Is it just that it's presenting things in like a good form? format for people. Like it gives a list and people like that. I think that's what it is, right? That's what they're looking for. Yeah, yeah. It's like, I don't like to have to spend the extra three minutes sorting through the different answers to figure out which one is obviously good. But it's like, that's an important part of the process of thinking and doing and finding information. And that's a skill that we are a little better at. We're better at right now. Yeah. Yeah, we were just talking about
Starting point is 00:36:09 this with the 49ers scammer, the guy who like pretended to be. a NFL football player for the 49ers by buying a 49ers helmet and working out on the beach with the 49ers helmet on. But one of the big reasons he was able to do it was at one point he had like
Starting point is 00:36:28 posted so much about being on the 49ers that Google's, when you googled his name, Google AI was like, yeah, he's a wide receiver for the 49er. That's amazing. That's amazing. Again, it's like just this it's eliminating these like two question two follow-up question searches that are just a very basic part of how we think and operate in the world and it's just like giving you one confident and completely incorrect answer yeah i like that 49ers thing it's like the ai ecosystem swallowed your vision board and in reality yes yeah yeah the the sheriff who had to like
Starting point is 00:37:13 like rescue these guys was like yeah i don't know like you should like exactly what you said i was like maybe ask people who've like done the hike before i you know it's just like a little a little demoralized well it's like it reminds you the shame i have to tell you this shit like where people like they're like that one guy's like oh man i use chad gpt for like parenting advice it's like chad gpt never raised a fucking kid in their life okay just based off of that you know that one by the way is sam altman right yeah yeah yeah and there was another one i remember a business business insider article we read too. It's actually made me an even better parent now.
Starting point is 00:37:47 It tells our kids how to like mediate things. And I never have to talk to my kids. Yeah. Again, like the whole part of human experience is like reaching out to other humans who have had these experiences and gaining that sort of wisdom from them also. And, you know, that's all just completely out of the equation. So, hey, man, yeah, it'll take you, take you 15 minutes to get up Shasta, man. Bring one little bottle of water.
Starting point is 00:38:09 All right. There's a new trend in marketing, which is like, Somehow get a bunch of your shit stolen and then like make like kind of gamify the process of like getting it return. I'm like not totally sure how all of this is happening. But they so a few days ago, the LA Times reported that one of the largest beer heists in California history happened. And it was 40,000 pounds of Papp's blue ribbon, two trucks worth in total with a value of $70,000. and a purport, like a fake subcontractor
Starting point is 00:38:46 used fraudulent paperwork to pick up the shipment, which is weird, but I mean, I assume, based on Goodfellas, is the sort of thing that happens all the time. But like now PBR is like really trying to turn the theft into a publicity when they posted
Starting point is 00:39:01 a countdown for the thieves to return the beer. No questions asked. There's like a counter. There's like 18 days and 44 minutes is what it started at, which is a nod to. the year PBR was founded. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:39:15 It makes sense. I think most corporations like to handle theft in this fun, whimsical way based on what I've seen, where they go, come on, give it back now, guys. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:39:26 this, so what, are we, we thinking that they are, this isn't a thing at all? Or it's just a way for them trying to take a publicity L and try and be like, well,
Starting point is 00:39:36 we're in the news, so let's make it a thing. So, no one's like stealing PBR because it's the best, beer in the world and has such high value. Yeah. We got, we recently got new information. So the company, uh, CEO went on TikTok and was like, we will pay $20,000 to anyone who provides. TikTok? It's what older millennials are on, Andrew. Okay, got it. I said TikTok.
Starting point is 00:39:57 No, you definitely said TikTok. I just want to clarify. You said, I didn't hear that, sir. You said the right thing, sir. Look, I, tick tech sounds better. I mean, I'm into it. I just wanted to clarify. So, yeah, on TikTok. The PBR. CEO said that he'll pay up to $20,000 to anyone who provides new information that leads to the recovery of 1,6002 cases of PBR and non-alcoholic old Milwaukee beer. Okay. Which some of the stolen beer was not, it was just such a boring heist.
Starting point is 00:40:30 You're going to pay $20,000 for a thing that was worth about $70,000? Yeah. Okay. That's how it works. It's a good return for you guys. Yeah, yeah. good return for the thieves who presumably have already sold it and are making a shitload of money off of it. Yeah. But like, but why gamify this event?
Starting point is 00:40:51 So this has been like a thing. So Kit Kat recently had like a heist back in March where 40, 410,000 special edition Formula One car-shaped Kit Kat chocolate bars were stolen. Right. And they launched a massive marketing campaign focusing on the theft. including interactive activities that allowed users to input batch codes for verification of their Kit Kat bars blowing into the stolen shipment. Their campaign won multiple awards somehow.
Starting point is 00:41:23 And then a shampoo company did a similar thing where they were like capitalizing on the theft of a truckload of anti-dandruff shampoo with the tagline. Yep, it's that good. This is, it's actually kind of bizarre. It feels like this weird, like, corporate distortion of the arrow we're in where it's like they're taking theft of goods to be like it's because the product's so good rather than like no people are actually trying to make a living
Starting point is 00:41:52 they're like selling thing because they might give it to like a maybe someone has a small store who needs and use our arrows but to kind of spin all of it into like dude they're still everyone's stealing our shit because it's so bomb okay that's why uh and like you the next thing will be like, oh yeah, our baby formula, it's that good. That CVS has to lock it up. That's what's actually going on. It's so good. That's great, great.
Starting point is 00:42:21 Yeah. Should we be boosting trucks? This seems like, I think, yeah, it seems like they're, I mean, are we missing out on the truck? I mean, it sounds like, you know, a fast and furious kind of thing. Hey, Mookie Torreto is ready. Yeah, I'm just saying, I mean, I don't know. We should boost some trucks, you know. I got my girl, Letty, waiting.
Starting point is 00:42:39 Okay. just to pull off a fucking heist. And then when you get caught, you just call it a viral marketing stunt. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're actually trying to help out. Yeah. I wonder if that's a thing, like, if you were a smart thief, you'd be like, what's a thing we could sell where the company would actually not,
Starting point is 00:42:57 like, would try and turn it into a positive PR rather than like really, I mean, obviously I'm sure they're trying to actually find who stole it. Yeah, they're still going to try and find you and like Michael Clayton you, like have you die and let me make it look. I hate getting Michael Clayton. Yeah. Yeah. You're brushing your teeth and those guys come in your apartment and go,
Starting point is 00:43:19 oh, fucking Clayton. Damn, is this about the PBR? You can have it. I didn't even drink any. It's gross. We were just fucked up and stole it, man. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:43:29 Yeah. I mean, they said that the PBR heist did generate a real police report, but there are like weird details, like the fact that the police didn't issue a statement about the heist until more than one week after it happened. And then also, PBR originally posted that a truck was stolen.
Starting point is 00:43:47 And then company officials later said no vehicle went missing. So it's like someone fraudulently grabbed a shipment, right? Is what they said up top. Yeah. Yeah. But that's not what they said. I mean, PAPS is,
Starting point is 00:44:01 I mean, they're making weed drinks now. So like, they're, I don't know. Is this what you're into? They're trying to, like,
Starting point is 00:44:07 they're trying to stay relevant. And I remember like in 2004 when PBR was like, oh shit, dude, y'all got to PBR. Yeah, it had its day. Yeah. And then like also I felt like every like small comedy or art party in like the eastern part of Los Angeles was just had free PBR all the time. Like that was kind of their way to be like, if you need beer, like the people who distribute PBR will just give you free beer for a thing. Was there anybody who thought that it tasted good? Like, or it's, it was kind of always like malort coated to me, where I was like, this is bad and like that's what we like about it kind of.
Starting point is 00:44:45 I think it was maybe the better of the bad beers. Yeah. Remember correctly? It, like, like, tastes it a little better than some of the other. It's not memorable. It's like it doesn't stick with you. So that's fine because it's swill beer. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:44:56 It's just shit. You just keep constantly cracking cans open of and, you know, talk about how chill high school was. Let's take a quick break and we'll come back and we'll talk about. about our finest actor, a gal Gadot, waiting for Godot. The new Red Bull Dragonberry and Tropicberry Energizers, now at McDonald's, made with freeze-dried fruit and an electric burst of flavor. The all-new Red Bull Energizers, now at McDonald's. This product may not be right for you.
Starting point is 00:45:33 High in caffeine, details of McDonald's.cai at participating Canadian restaurants, excluding Quebec. I'm Elizabeth Smart, and these are the Survivor Files. I just remember this low, taunting voice next to my ear saying, shut up, don't say anything. On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality. of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I chose option B. I'm Julie Pinero, and I travel by myself
Starting point is 00:47:52 because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people, and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around.
Starting point is 00:48:10 It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. Starting point is 00:50:36 to have a performance in a film that doesn't suck. Waiting for the next guy. Al-Ga-Do movie. What's that viral thing? Like, give me the stones or something like that. Is that her? You know what I'm talking about?
Starting point is 00:50:48 Yeah, there's a viral thing where she's like, I need the stone. I've seen the one where it's like, we have enough champagne too. And then she like throws the champagne overboard and goes, fill the Nile. Oh, yeah, that one's, that one's good too. I think this one. And enough champagne to fill the Nile. Yeah. Can you find the Stones one too?
Starting point is 00:51:07 Yeah. Calel, no. Calais. Calais. No. No, this one's good. This one's good. This one's good.
Starting point is 00:51:12 You're putting yourself and everyone else in grave danger. I need you to give me the stone. It's so bad. It's amazing. Pedro Pascal, like his character is confused, but actually that was just a genuine reaction to her acting. He's like, wait,
Starting point is 00:51:28 is this your take? Is this what you want? Yeah. I need the stones. Okay. It's so bad. I need you to give me the stones. The stone.
Starting point is 00:51:37 It's always, it really looks like somebody being, like finding out about. acting for the first time. You know, I'm like trying it, which is. What's her origin story?
Starting point is 00:51:46 Just hot in Israeli? Like what, how did she become? She was like a model. Model. And then she was in the fashion of the furious. She was like Miss Israel too. Right.
Starting point is 00:51:56 Yeah. And then obviously had to fight in the most moral army in the world for a few years. And then I don't, then I don't know how she, uh, she said, oh, it's because she,
Starting point is 00:52:09 you know what? Wow. Fast and Furious. Yeah. That was her debut. One of the original. It's all connected. Yep.
Starting point is 00:52:16 Yeah. So we can all, look, we're all family guys at the end of the day. Let's not forget that. There's something that, like, about the Fast and Furious movies. Like, they should just be making those once a year
Starting point is 00:52:28 because it allows you to introduce whoever you want. And the level of acting is such that, like, you can't distinguish any, like, bad acting from you're just like, Yeah, no, that's not what I'm here for. Like, so this is, this is fine. She's doing great. And look, I don't need to, you know, I'm not trying to make this a political thing, but is America ready for a guy Godot?
Starting point is 00:52:55 I just don't know. And maybe we're not, but it's just something to think about. It's totally possible. Too soon. Yeah, I don't know. Give her some time. She just needs to find the right role, guys. She just needs to find the right role.
Starting point is 00:53:07 and we're all going to be, we're going to have egg on our faces, okay, to bring the chicken thing back. She also did the Imagine song, which I do think is a great underrated moment where everybody was like, you know what, fuck celebrity culture from now. It was her idea, right? It was her idea. Yeah. She was like, she opened it and was like, you guys, you know, I just think like a lot of people are having a hard time. And so like I wanted to, right?
Starting point is 00:53:32 Like, wasn't there like an explainer where she was like, this is my idea. And that's why it's good. And people are like, stop. I mean, you get a pass for singing a verse in the video. You don't get a pass for orchestrating it. Yeah. I mean, to the point that everyone else is like, damn, thank God, only people remember gal. Most of you will be like, yeah, remembers the galgadot imagine video.
Starting point is 00:53:54 Like, I couldn't. Now I'm thinking about it. I'm like, who the fuck else was in it actually? They got away with it. Oh, I can name every fucking one. Go, rattle them. Go. You got him.
Starting point is 00:54:03 You got them tattooed on your body, like Guy Pearson fucking. Memento and shit. John G. I have all their names. I'm crossing them off as they die. Oh my God. It's like a hit list. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:25 Silverman, Will Farrell. I still remember. I feel like John Lennon, like the John Lennon estate has to be. Well, Sarah Silverman is funny because she appeared in both. She appeared in the one that made fun of it that weird al put together
Starting point is 00:54:39 and the original that was also ironic that crossover people forget Mark Ruffalo was also in that video oh interesting how far we fall apart famously doesn't like Jews what's going on with that what is this what is this Mark everyone's accusing him of anti-Semitism what's going on there
Starting point is 00:54:58 yeah because he's critical of the genocide just so crazy but it's like so clearly not about I've never even heard him say anything bad about Jews I've heard of talk about about Israel. It's just the constant thing of like the bad faith characterization of what anti-Semitism is. And we were just talking about this earlier this week when there was a literal kickboxing match at the Kia Center in Orlando where a Nazi versus like an Israeli guy and it was like
Starting point is 00:55:23 Nazi versus Jewish guy kickboxing match. The guy has fucking SS bolts on him. And like people are wasting their time on like Mark Ruffalo. Yeah. At the stadium where the stadium where the. the Orlando Magical. Yeah, yeah. And it's, but yeah,
Starting point is 00:55:40 put your, put the emphasis on people who are merely advocating for children. Same with like Miss Rachel. Like they still keep coming after Miss Rachel because she's merely like, yeah, I think children being killed is actually a warrant. No matter in what context. I don't like,
Starting point is 00:55:54 it is what it is. Yeah. But hey, Jack, we're just taking the emphasis away from, uh, Gals's latest film. Sorry, sorry,
Starting point is 00:56:02 sorry. So it's just a like interesting conversation of, like what is her worst performance. We just saw some highlights. Like everybody probably has their favorite. But this, it looks like we've got a new front runner. A, wow.
Starting point is 00:56:17 Called the runner. Yeah. And it's, it's just like, it's the sort of movie that somebody takes because they're like, I need to stretch my acting ability. You know, I need to show off what I can do.
Starting point is 00:56:32 This is a, it's like the, didn't Ryan Reynolds do one where he's like in a, the whole time and like Colin Farrell did one where he was like on a pay phone the whole time. Right. It's just like really like it's just the camera and my face telling a story. But she's running Jack. She's out there in the streets of London.
Starting point is 00:56:50 Yeah, this is the one that like I guess Tom Cruise would do. Whereas like the camera. And you running? And these damn legs that just can't quit. She, you know, can sell athleticism, I think. Yeah. And so. Although no, her running for him is pretty wild.
Starting point is 00:57:06 It's pretty wild. It's cyborgian. I started watching it. I'm about 40 minutes in, and the combination made my eyes bleed. I'll say, just trying to watch it. It's actually so bad, it's good. So I think there's something there. We've got something.
Starting point is 00:57:24 Yeah. This is why it's racing up the charts. It's a thriller about a mom and a lawyer who is out for her morning run when she receives a phone call, informing her that her son has been abducted. And it's not that simple, Jack. She's a high-powered lawyer who's about to convict a guy who's flipped on like a crime boss.
Starting point is 00:57:46 And so it turns into like nick of time basically where the thing, the guy's like, you got to kill the witness or your son dies. It's just like, no. Don't kill him, please. I will kill you if you do anything to my son.
Starting point is 00:58:02 And it's just like the acting is stiff. the plot really is really kind of all over the place. And just as I don't, I mean, I don't run a ton, but I know what running 13 miles an hour is. That's not slow.
Starting point is 00:58:18 And like, there's like a scene where like the bad guys, because like the whole thing is like, I want you to run so I can track your movements and no, you're not doing anything silly. And he's like, go run over here.
Starting point is 00:58:27 Now go run over there. And it's like, you're like, what is the looking point about these destinations to run to? But then like when he's tracking her, it says that she's running. 13 miles an hour. And I was like, let me quick math. That's like about a sub five minute mile you're running. That's the pace you're on. Yeah, that's very fast. Like, yeah, yeah. Like that's a two,
Starting point is 00:58:46 that's actually like when you, when people talk about like the famous sub two hour marathon, if you're running 13 miles an hour, what a marathon's 26.2 miles, you're running up there with some of the best marathon runners in the world. But that, but her character is like a youth pentathlet. So that's, I think, how they are like, she's, she's good at running. youth. This movie is like speed, but with the human body instead of a truck. Yeah. It's a compelling pitch. Guys, I don't hate the pitch. I don't. You like, I'm, I'm a screenwriter. I'm driving around LA. I have to slam on my brakes. Barely avoid hitting my third jogger of the day. Right. And I'm like, God damn, why are all these people wait a second?
Starting point is 00:59:30 Yeah. What if someone was on the phone threatening them? That would be good. Yeah. I bet that guy. I bet that lady, she had her son's glucose monitor had by a guy. And there's like a whole thing which is like, you had to my son's glucose monitor? And you're like, whoa, whoa. Like there's like, because now he's like, he's trying to drop weight.
Starting point is 00:59:51 I'll reveal it. No, he just, he was like, I put your son into a hypoglycemic coma and now you must really, like you have an hour now or he will or he will not survive. And it's just medical terrorism, dog. Yeah. It's got, it's got a lot of weird stuff going. on for it. But the thing that I've realized about her is like she's getting the Arnold Schwarzenegger
Starting point is 01:00:11 treatment with how we take her in and her roles on camera. Because like we all know Arnold cannot get rid of that accent. And Arnold not the best actor. So we're going to go, you know what, man, your name's just going to be Detective John Kimball, guy with the heavy Austrian accent. And we're not going to ask much. And your kid has no accent either. And we just like, whatever. We don't even need to talk about it. You actually have to be a more sophisticated movie viewer to appreciate because you are taking the acting as part of the experience. You're never for a moment forgetting that that is Arnold Schwarzenegger acting. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And yet. Yeah. I still enjoy it. I mean, they do reference that she might not be English because they're like, yeah,
Starting point is 01:00:54 how was your immigrant father? And you're like, oh, okay. So not that at least you did introduce the idea that possibly she was not born in England. or whatever, but it's, uh, good opening, good opening question, by the way, to pretty much anyone you meet, how is your immigrant father? I like that. Yeah, it's just kind of a good way
Starting point is 01:01:09 to get to know someone, you know? Yeah. Yeah, they're doing a lot. I mean, like a lot of close-ups. A lot of close-ups. A lot of close-a-lot. Yeah, I was gonna say, like, there's that face blind painter,
Starting point is 01:01:20 Chuck Close, who like, paints just like different pieces of people's faces so that because he can't like, perceive the whole face. And that feels to be, feels like the way they're going about filming her where they like, we'll film an eye at a time and then like her mouth because they don't want you to get the overall impression of her acting.
Starting point is 01:01:42 Yeah. So in the comments of the clip asked if she's, if the character is supposed to be blind. And it's actually a very good question. She's doing movie blind person in some parts where she's just like kind of looking around vacantly, you know? That scene that they clipped out was when she's, She's just found out that her son has been kidnapped.
Starting point is 01:02:02 But then also she realizes that kidnapper was using AI to fake her son's voice. And then she's like, wait, what? And then like right now where I'm part of it is like, wait, are they going to like, do they even have her son? Yeah, they're just getting to do with AI and she's just running for no reason. But I will continue watching because she just got the blammer out the out the dumpster and she's on her way to court. Do we think that this is a twist ending where she like is an assessment? Assen, like, that's the, this only version that I can imagine, like, making any sense where, like, you know, otherwise. You have to find, ask me on Monday.
Starting point is 01:02:38 Ask me on Monday, man, when I've had it a few times to watch it at least two times. For a podcast content is, like, speculate on the ending of a movie. You just start watching that nobody's going to watch. That's out. That's out. And also, like, everything, I'm going to have to watch it three times, first times, just general viewing. Second time for plot, the third time for character development. That's right.
Starting point is 01:02:57 That's right. All right. And just a final word for everybody. Go out there and buy your Mr. Beast books. Guys, this is important to us as a podcast. Mr. Beast wrote a book with author James Patterson. You really emphasize those words. Sorry, it's, yeah, I'm sure he did a lot of writing. I'm sure he put pen to padd. He's, he's in, he's in, he's in, he's in, he's in. in the journal every morning, just coming up with these plots. It's called the Most Dangerous Games and which it's kind of weird. So that's a play on the most dangerous game,
Starting point is 01:03:38 the hunting and killing of people from somebody. Yeah. And his show. Right. But somebody who has built a media empire on endangering the lives of people is doing a play on the hunting
Starting point is 01:03:54 of humans. It's just interesting. Anyways, it's on track to be historic bomb, according to people close to the project. Pre-orders are numbering in the four digits. This is a tiny fraction of what the publisher was expecting.
Starting point is 01:04:10 You're telling me these like Gen Alpha and like Zoomer kids aren't buying James Patterson books? Yeah. It's fucked up. Yeah, the collab that everybody's been waiting for. Yeah. It's just two completely
Starting point is 01:04:24 separate circles of a Venn diagram of people who are fans these two things. And even when they collaborate, the circles still fail to overlap in any way. You're like, I'm still looking at two different circles, man. I don't know how we're going to square this. And so Mr. Beast is telling people that if they buy his book, they might be able to win a million dollars. How? Unclear. It's unclear. That's great. That's great.
Starting point is 01:04:50 This might be, you know, a new chapter for him, though. I mean, like, maybe in a few years, there'll be some young person. who's like, I just found out my favorite author also makes YouTube videos. Right. From the writing, you know, maybe they'll be like, holy crap, Mr. Beasts does YouTube too, because they just, they're a fan of the work, you know. The most dangerous games guy? The author, the author, he also makes videos where he traps people in basements. No, no, no, no, definitely not.
Starting point is 01:05:19 Fucking jigsaw. YouTube's very own jigsaw. Yeah. Andrew, such a pleasure having you. Yeah. Oh, fun as always. Where can people find you, follow you, all that good stuff? Yeah, I'm at Andrew Mishan on Instagram.
Starting point is 01:05:33 I'm Twitter too, but who cares? I don't know. M-I-C-H-A-A-N. I'm posting stand-up clips. I'm doing different stuff on there. I care, it sounds like. Yeah, people care. Is there a work of media that you've been enjoying?
Starting point is 01:05:48 I just read a book. Is that count? I just finished a book today. No. Is that media? Boring. Yeah, that counts. Please.
Starting point is 01:05:56 It's called Clara and the Sun. It's like a Japanese author. It kind of reminds me of George Saunders. It's kind of like a dystopian sci-fi kind of thing about these kind of almost like robot companions that kids are given at some indistinct period in the future. It's really good. It's a short read, and it was really intriguing,
Starting point is 01:06:15 and I really liked it. I would really recommend it. And, yeah, and if you're interested in getting into reading the Mr. Beast's book is a good place to start, but then if you need another one, you know, Clara and the Sun is a... is a good next one. And yeah, my podcast, podcast, podcast, but outside, you know, I'm always plugging that here. But, you know, interview strangers on the street. It's always fun. And we just
Starting point is 01:06:33 put out a funny clip that Miles saw of a young British lad, six-year-old British lad. It's kind of a viral clip. You can just search podcast, but aside, if you don't want to check out the full show, it's a 60-second clip. It's all you need to pay attention to. And that's all you need of all the work we put into our podcast. Just consume the clip. Just 60 seconds. And not a lot of Not a lot of podcasts are brave enough to have six-year-old British boys on as guests, and we are. So that's what's up,
Starting point is 01:06:59 because we talk to random people. Talk to people on the streets. Can I use that as a theme song? Thank you. Yeah. Podcast on the street. Be Rudy Dundee. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:10 You can do that. Miles. Mm-hmm? Miles. Now listen to me. Miles, where can people find you and as their work of media you've been enjoying? Father?
Starting point is 01:07:20 Are you calling my name? Miles. I found you. I was doing a bit of Galgadad acting where I was like, where is that voice coming from? You can find me everywhere at Miles of Gray. I'm talking about 90-day fiancé on 420-day fiancé. You watch the World Cup. You fuck with soccer now.
Starting point is 01:07:36 You like me. You like laughing. Well, guess what? There's a show called Ain't It Footy where we are talking about the world of European soccer football with funny people. Me, Jamel Johnson, and Chris Martin every week. So check that out. Please subscribe. I love European soccer football.
Starting point is 01:07:52 You love European soccer football. soccer football. They're like, this guy doesn't know what the fuck. He's talking about it. Soccer football. Um, yeah, well, because I'm always like tortured as an American of like being like soccer. Football. Soccer.
Starting point is 01:08:03 Anyway, find that there. A work of media I like. Oh, actually, funnily enough. The last thing I like was the clip from podcast, but outside. Oh, that's nice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Check that out. Check that out because I just, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:08:19 There was something about seeing like a young kid who, like, I know the teams that he said he liked, I was like, oh, that's, that's a real fan in the making. Like, you're sticking loyal to your irons being a West Ham fan. Kieran was his name, right? Yeah, Kieran Little. Yeah, he's a West Ham and a Mets fan. Yeah, man. He got a little bit, double duty.
Starting point is 01:08:40 Hey, man, you're strong, kid. Keep your chin up. Keep your chin up. Yeah, but that's my clip from podcast. Thank you. There you go. Some things I've been enjoying on September 2nd, on Wednesday, Alyssa. on Twitter tweeted, if 9-11 happened today,
Starting point is 01:08:56 the left would be defending the hijackers. And frequent guest, Alan Strickland Williams, said, if 9-11 happened today, it would be 9-2, dumbass. Really good point. And I've been enjoying all the Schovenfreude, coming with the Clippers reporting. The Pablo Tori finds out just being proven exactly right,
Starting point is 01:09:20 ESPN being proven exactly wrong. Billionaires of the world, billionaires of the sports world being proved it exactly wrong. So just drinking that in like a sicko. Just dark poison into my heart, just laughing in a dark room somewhere. And then I liked this post from a microplastics nanobbubbler who tweeted an actual tweet from Jessica Alba. Jessica Alba presents Baby of the Year. Is your baby the cutest? Win $25,000.
Starting point is 01:09:57 And they just tweeted, holy shit next to a picture of the baby of the year sketch. Yeah. That's crazy. We're really doing it, baby. We're really doing it, folks. Oh, I hope the names are good, too. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:13 Art Harley is that? Yeah. Anyway. You can find me on Twitter, Jack underscore O'Brien. Blue Sky, Jack O. Instagram, Jack underscore O underscore Brian. You can find us on Twitter
Starting point is 01:10:26 on Blue Sky at Daily Zykeast. We're at The Daily Zykeast on Instagram. You can go to the description of this episode wherever you're listening to it and there at the bottom you will find the footnotes, which is where we link off to the information that we talked about in today's episode, as well as a song
Starting point is 01:10:40 that we think you might enjoy. Miles, is there a song that you think the people might enjoy? Yeah. This is actually a collaboration between some of my favorite artists. Michael Patrick Porkins, Taffy. Galgado and Bart Harley Jarvis.
Starting point is 01:10:53 Those are three of the names. No, this is, this is actually a really fun remix album from a few years ago. If you're a fan of Wu-Tang, good. You also like Fugazi? Great. How about Wugazi? Okay? Put the two together and you got this one.
Starting point is 01:11:10 This is a combination of I'm so tired from Fugazi and Cashels everything around me by Wutang Clan. It's called Sleep Rules Everything Around Me. you can only find this. I know people are, like, there's a vinyl version that's being sold right now. If you want to listen to it immediately, you can do that on SoundCloud and we will have that link in the footnotes. Footnotes, the Daily Zadkisian before you leave? Yes, please. You must.
Starting point is 01:11:33 One more thing. Zite gang, is that what you call the listeners? Oh, yeah. I just want to say the Zite gang is always really, really, they seem like a great bunch of people that you guys have listening to your show. Whenever I talk about something specifically, I feel like someone from the Zykeg will reach out and like suggests, something. So on my last time on the show, I was about to go to Iceland. Then randomly, I got an email to my podcast, but outside, email address. And it was from Kristen Marino's son. And they live in Iceland and they were just giving me suggestions. They even operate a campsite
Starting point is 01:12:07 and was like, hey, if you need a place to stay, you're welcome to stay on my campsite for a couple nights. I didn't end up taking up on it because I'd already had all my stuff booked. But that's just so nice of them. So shout out Kristen and shout out all the Zikegang who are really like, I don't know. They feel helpful and involved in your guest's lives. And I think that's very sweet. Also, Lydia Popovich, frequent guest and huge Dolly Parton fan, she texted me and she's like, I've got to just tell you, man, the amount of, like, listeners from your show that, like, reached out to me when Dolly Parton passed away to just like, because they just feel like they know that's like something fucking me up. She's like, I was really touch. She's like, I just want to tell you, like, they're great.
Starting point is 01:12:42 And I'm, whenever people say that, I feel like such a proud parent. Yeah. I'm like a parent. But I have such a sense. of pride over the fact that like it's a it's a good collection of decent people that listen to the show and are like positive yeah yeah i wanted to just i wanted to acknowledge and shout that out i'm sure you guys are well aware of that already but thank you to the fans no nice people hey thanks for making us look good like gang you know what i mean we're internationally known and locally respected that's right i'm glad that uh i have a campground in iceland ruse worked out in the hey anytime you show up You were fucked.
