Starting point is 00:01:22 I'll share what the science really shows, that we're surprisingly more united than most people think. We all know something is wrong in our culture, in our politics, and that we need to do better and that we can do better. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts. In 1982, Atari players had one game on their minds. Sword Quest. Because the company had promised $150,000 in prizes to four finalists. But the prizes disappeared, leading to one of the biggest controversies in 80s pop culture. I'm Jamie Loftus.
Starting point is 00:01:57 Join me this spring for The Legend of Sword Quest. We'll follow the quest for lost treasure across four decades. quest we'll follow the quest for lost treasure across four decades listen to the legend of sword quest on the iheart radio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts hello the internet and welcome to this episode of sacra trendo california i'm jack o'brien that is DJ Danil. It's your boy. When there's an echo on your name, it sounds like I'm saying anal. And welcome back to my high school experience. All right. Whatever, Danil.
Starting point is 00:02:41 It's not even good enough for a bully to use, to be honest with you. Hey, speaking of bullies. Yes hashtag he's back he's back el presidente donald trump has uh bullied the coronavirus kicked its ass totally now he's back uh to bullying the rest of us. Yes, and absolutely unheard of record time. Yeah, yeah. So, I mean, it's causing another thing that's trending is Trump COVID hoax, because people are like, that's not how COVID works. Not even close. Either he is lying now or didn't have it and lied when he said he had it.
Starting point is 00:03:22 I can tell you which of those two is true. It's not the one where he lies to make himself seem vulnerable. That does not seem to be his style. But yeah, his doctor just came out, gave a press conference, was like, I mean, you've seen the tweets. You've seen the videos. He's back, man. He's good.
Starting point is 00:03:44 What a chill. Why do you even ask me questions anymore? like i mean you've seen the tweets you've seen the videos he's back man it's good what is chill yeah why you even ask me questions anymore i mean this is this guy's a fucking machine bro um yeah nonsense it's uh yeah we'll we'll see how this story develops the you know the latest kaylee mcnainy has it it as we talk on tomorrow's show about. But it seems like the direction the story has headed, they tease it a little bit. They said he was probably going to
Starting point is 00:04:14 leave the hospital on Monday and now all signs point to they're just going to keep hurtling down that direction. He's going to keep being treated at the White House. There's, I mean, he's supposed to be quarantining. Right.
Starting point is 00:04:35 He should be quarantining if he was exposed to somebody with coronavirus, let alone has it. Right. Like what we suspected all along that he is a super human god uh turns out to be correct uh i guess is there any other news on his on his comings and goings i mean other than the way that he's endangering all the people around him with reckless abandon is just you know that that's pretty much it you know seeing him expose himself to so many other people. I think the super spreader event of the Rose Garden is going to be
Starting point is 00:05:08 something that we'll be tracking much more closely as we can just kind of pinpoint these people into whom they connected. Like, I think that's going to be some, you know, red thread on the board kind of thing. You know, Charlie Day with the cigarette, just like, all right, so it was here and then it was here and then it was here and then it was here, but it will be will be legitimate like it will be necessary super i mean that's just contact tracing exactly we'll be doing it for realsies
Starting point is 00:05:31 it just is extra over the top because uh we have an event where people were pretending like coronavirus did not like it didn't exist like it wasn't real oh well um anyways that's that's where we're at we'll let you know if there are any more developments in the next 15 minutes uh yep we got the hero snarl the tyler hero snarl i don't know if uh dj danil if you watched uh game three of the i did watch game three of the finals the finals. Jimmy Butler, the two guard for the Heat, went off. He was like 40 points. He had a triple
Starting point is 00:06:11 double, didn't he? Yeah. He's definitely, I think, the reason that they're in the finals. People are talking a lot about Bam being their best player, but he is the new ingredient. He's the guy who got added this year, him and Tyler Hero,
Starting point is 00:06:31 but he's the veteran leadership who got added this year, and last year they didn't make the playoffs. This year they are in the finals and in it now. It's not going to be a sweep. It's not going to be a – I think it's going to be a good series. Yeah, we'll see. I'm definitely interested. It doesn't ring the same way
Starting point is 00:06:50 that like a gentleman's sweep does of like the win three games, lose one to give them hope and then win the fifth game. Right. It definitely rings of like, okay, Miami Heat are here to play. Yeah, because especially their
Starting point is 00:07:01 supposed best player, Bam Adebayo, was out in game three still, and they still won. So once he's back, yeah, well, we will see. We shall see. But Hero Snarl is their rookie who looks like a, I mean, he is a teenager, I think. Yeah, he's a child. He might be 20. He's a child.
Starting point is 00:07:21 He is a teenager, I think. Yeah, he's a child. He might be 20. He's a child. And after he got an and one, he walked to the free throw line and gave a snarl that was, I don't know. It immediately struck me as embarrassing because it looked like my four-year trying like practicing a snarl in the mirror uh it just didn't it wasn't convincing it was very self-conscious and uh you know didn't come naturally but i respect it because he is uh bawling as they say bawling i love that um yeah i mean it's showy it's fun. I love the bubble right now. I think it's highlighting everything.
Starting point is 00:08:09 It's highlighting every player's behavior and stuff like that. And as short-sighted it may be, as for someone as young as Tyler Hero, I still love the showmanship. It's fun. the uh i still love the showmanship it's fun he's a kentucky player this is another person who went to uk university of kentucky um and was hidden from uh because he he he wasn't the number one pick even though he's probably the best rookie uh of his class same with devin booker these are guys who um you know were incredible players who went in the teens i think or you know they weren't top five picks because uh i don't know i i have my allegiances and i'm not a huge fan of the university of kentucky currently uh their current coaching uh but they the amount of uh talent that went through there over the past uh you know 15 years and the fact that they have only won one title is truly
Starting point is 00:09:14 astounding i think bam out of out of bio went to kentucky also did you really yeah that's wild everybody is there's so many kentucky guys and a uh anthony davis went to kentucky now granted he did win the title uh win the title with them he is the one example of where they actually managed to win the title but um anyways uh enough kentucky hate enough Kentucky hate. I do love my Kentucky fans, just not a fan of Coach Cal. Let it out. Movies pushed back. Movies pushed back. Sorry, guys.
Starting point is 00:09:54 You Kentucky fans who feel insulted just know that I'm having a tough day because movies pushed back. They're pushed, baby. Yeah, Dune and Batman? I mean i mean come on what do i have to live for what are we gonna do so what what's what's the latest how when was dune supposed to come out and when is it coming out so dune just got pushed back to october 1st of next year and batman is also currently dated for the same day. So, but there's a chance that Batman could be delayed as well.
Starting point is 00:10:26 So, so is variety. I think this is just, you know, standard fare for pretty much every movie that's being, that's being, you know, shown right now or rather previewed right now,
Starting point is 00:10:36 while we are still in the midst of figuring out what the hell is going on. So, you know, it's just, it's just going to happen for everything until we have a very clear solution until we have a you know a vaccine like i don't suspect anything to be released on time at all until we you know have something legit and serious right yeah because tenet came out it was supposed to be a pretty sure thing and it did not uh no did not hit the way that people expect a christopher nolan uh picture
Starting point is 00:11:07 to hit but dune just dropped a really dope trailer so this is kind of a bummer that they're now pushed back were they supposed to come out when was dune supposed to come out dune's original release date oof it was supposed to be december 18th of this year wow Wow. So they pushed it back a mere 10 months. Yeah. Oh no. Wow. Oh no, no, no. Yeah. So things are going well generally.
Starting point is 00:11:36 We feel like we got this COVID thing licked. As one of the president's supporters said, we just need to make a, uh, vaccine out of his blood and all, and only give it to the right because,
Starting point is 00:11:51 because he's invincible. And, uh, so yeah, that's gonna, it's gonna be a while till we're back to normal. And even then, like,
Starting point is 00:12:01 I don't think that many people are going to take the vaccine because it's become associated with trump um right so we'll see yeah uh j balvin mcdonald's collab baby now we're getting to the real shit let's go now i i know we held off this long i know this is what you guys really tuned in to hear about um no mcdonald's is uh you know that this story officially informed me uh many many years after you guys already knew uh but i'm old as fuck because i didn't really know who jay belvin was uh i think i called him jay blavin uh when i first saw this story you didn't even need to rat yourself out on that one. Telling on myself. J Balvin and Baby Yoga. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Love it. But yeah, so J Balvin, McDonald's is like years and years ahead of me in terms of pop culture. I did know who Travis Scott was. I was listening to, I think it was Doughboys, and they were like, who's Travis Scott? What is who Travis Scott was. I did. I was listening to, uh, I think it was dough boys and they were like, who's Travis Scott.
Starting point is 00:13:08 What is a Travis Scott? And that was, uh, they got a similar young person to fill them in on what, what the hats was. But is Jay, Jay Balvin isn't as popular as Travis Scott, right? I mean,
Starting point is 00:13:18 he has a lot of record sales. I would say he's definitely the most popular person in the land of reggaeton, uh, him and bad bunny together. Um, but, but I mean, he's a huge, popular person in the land of reggaeton uh him and bad bunny together um but but i mean he's a huge huge artist i would say i mean maybe not spotify numbers wise what i put it on the exact same level but he has super super super mega hits i mean like he he has 35 million albums sold or 35 million sales on albums so it's like i mean he's extremely popular um but i i'm um i'm excited for do you think maybe we get a tiny little grammy uh happy meal toy now do you think they'll start doing like
Starting point is 00:13:53 the grammy series they'll do like travis scott j balvin and then who knows like ariana grande or they'll get some other pop artist or some other people and then just be like grammy series and have a little like a limited edition gramophones yeah i mean kid we do know that kids love award season and that that would be a huge huge hit with them kids just practice in their acceptance speeches yeah yeah did you see the clothing line that came out with the travis scott special though the travis scott food no it was he was selling like 40 pieces of merch that were all cactus jack mcdonald's branded things like it was yes it was the food and then it was literally 40 pieces of merch that it was like yeah limited quantities go to have to get after it and the that stuff sold out like that yeah the streetwear market can be a little confusing uh i agree i did love like one of his pairs of jordans um but yeah not not enough to just scoop up all that all 40 the 40th most popular uh piece of mcdonald's collaboration
Starting point is 00:15:09 that's funny um all right and jay balvin's collab uh with mcdonald's is the meal he gets which is what we looking at big mac we're looking at medium fries uh with ketchup which is that's interesting that they feel the need to specify that. Well, it's as opposed to Travis Scott. Who dips his fries in the barbecue sauce. I didn't mind the barbecue sauce. He's a wild man. I mean, that's the first
Starting point is 00:15:38 thing you olds need to understand about Travis Scott. He does not live life on your script. He dips his fries in barbecue sauce. I dip mine in the barbecue sauce. I've seen that. I live for that delivery. I live for it. So
Starting point is 00:15:53 J Balvin, more down the middle in terms of fry dippage, but hold on to your butts because on the beverage side, you're not even getting a beverage. What you're getting instead is an Oreo McFlur. What? What?
Starting point is 00:16:10 What? My head just exploded. I know. It's kind of gross, actually. You're going to have to clean that. Brains everywhere in this office. Yeah. I mean, that's pretty dope.
Starting point is 00:16:24 That is actually kind of a value if you're paying the same amount you would for uh that meal with a with a soda soda the soda um the the fact that you're getting a little little ice cream treat i might have to get this Balvin full support listen to some of his jams they are jams reggaeton jams from that Jay Blavin there it is oh man there he is ladies and gentlemen we got him
Starting point is 00:16:55 lit up I love it alright well guys that is going to do it for today's episode of Trending. We'll be back tomorrow with both Miles and I in a great episode. So great. It's a classic. It's a classic.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Do you hear that? He never says that. But until then, wash your hands stay inside wear a mask unless you're you know ready to die for the president like some of his followers said
Starting point is 00:17:33 be kind to each other be kind to yourselves don't do nothing about white supremacy and we'll talk to y'all tomorrow bye in California during the summer and we'll talk to y'all tomorrow.
