Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of Sir Trendity Now.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Sir Trendity Now! Sir Trendity Now! That is Curious CF Fighter fighter the Zite man. Oh, okay. Yeah. Nightmare. There you go. We'll put a little
Starting point is 00:02:28 spin on there. Okay. My name is Jack. That, well, that's Miles. Yeah. These are some of the things that are trending
Starting point is 00:02:35 on this Tuesday afternoon. JD Vance is, is a trend. JD Vance. He had a debate with Tim Ryan because they are both running for the ohio
Starting point is 00:02:47 senate seat that i believe rob portman is no longer interested in um but anyway there within the debate like a lot of people were just pointing to the fact that this race is pretty tight and like just tim ryan was just doing the most elementary attacks on JD Vance. Not that they were ineffective by merely being like, this guy like just kisses Trump's ass. And then like, let's seem, let's some like talk shit about him. I'll just play this one clip.
Starting point is 00:03:15 Cause it kind of, his whole vibe was like, this guy's a fucking loser and he's an extremist or whatever. But this is funny. Just kind of juxtaposing this whole thing about how you know jd vance loves a good kick in the teeth from trump just to come back and pucker his lips just a few weeks ago in in youngstown on the stage uh donald trump said to jd vance all you do is kiss my ass to get my support kissing my ass my ass. He wants the support is what Trump says.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Pointing to fucking J.D. Like from the city. Like, look at this fool kissing my ass. All right, motherfucker. Get on up here. Wow. After Trump took J.D. Vance's dignity from him on the stage, J.D.
Starting point is 00:03:59 Vance got back up on stage and said, start shaking his hand, take a picture saying, hey, aren't we having a great time here tonight? Wow. Wow. That's pretty good. that just wow he was just so uncomfortable too like it's like hot you know yeah well yeah I did that well you get it it's hard and when JD Vance got on got to the lectern, I guess, uh, after, after Trump introduced him so kindly by being like, this guy kisses my ass. What a loser. Uh, he got up there and people were like, boo,
Starting point is 00:04:51 you could hear people booing in the background. Like just, uh, JD Vance became famous for writing hillbilly elegy and being like the mainstream media's go to good one of the day. He's one of the good ones in the Republican party. And, you know,
Starting point is 00:05:08 talking openly about how, uh, wild racist Trump was and how dangerous Trump was, and then made a very calculated pivot to trying to get elected. And, you know, he's on the verge of at least having a 50, 50, a coin flip chance of
Starting point is 00:05:26 pulling it off which i guess makes sense i mean modern political world easy note no fucking person who's going from hollywood to politics like making money as like a writer or actor or some shit is has a fucking spine as a politician like their whole career is predicated on pleasing people and to do what you can to like book a gig including whatever the fuck you have to do so i don't i don't expect someone like jd vance to then like go to fucking politics and be like no i'm principled i came from this industry where you have to hold your ground or else you'll just be trampled all over no that's exactly where you come from but again that's why there's so many parallels between Hollywood and DC. As Super Producer Brian pointed out, when he got up there, he said,
Starting point is 00:06:09 isn't it great to have the president here? Which, in these days, is a loaded term because of the big lie and people thinking that he actually got elected. So, shout out to Ohio. Get out there and vote. Are they running to fill? Is the current senator Democrat or Republican? Oh, come on, baby. You know you're Republican.
Starting point is 00:06:31 Okay. Yeah. Adnan Saeed is trending because on Tuesday, Baltimore prosecutors dropped the charges against him. Yeah. Fucking it's a wrap. The case is over uh as they said and the the biggest thing was apparently this dna testing uh that they said it was this the results of this dna test led them to this conclusion they said on friday they received the results of this dna testing on quote items
Starting point is 00:06:58 that were not tested before that like before you know when the original trial was happening including a skirt pantyhose and shoes and a jacket belonging to lee and they said there was a dna mixture of multiple contributors on both shoes and that online adnan's dna was excluded uh they said that because of advances in dna testing from when the case was initially tried they were able to exclude aside from the case saying quote the case is over right uh so i don't know what happened and in the case saying, quote, the case is over. Right. So I don't know what happened in the case. I don't know if he's innocent or guilty. One thing that I think has been clear throughout serial and the aftermath is that the carceral system was like a giant storm of randomness that was just fucking up any uh attempt by anyone to figure out what happened here like it was just chaos if he's guilty like they certainly got in the way of
Starting point is 00:07:55 proving that uh and if he's not guilty they robbed him 20 years of his life and didn't even look for the person who actually did it it seems yeah that's what i'm curious is is if they have this new evidence is that going to bring them closer to actually identifying who did it yeah you you would think so i hope amen god could you imagine like cereal like they just have like a final episode that like wraps it all up yeah it's like turns out it was somebody we didn't mention at all and i had no idea about um but yeah the dna evidence in general has been a great sort of exposer of just how bad the criminal justice system and you know every every aspect of it is terrible at finding out the truth about what what happened in any given situation yeah anti-white is trending yeah because tulsi gabbard is leaving the democratic party oh tulsi did not see that
Starting point is 00:08:55 coming we never thought you were a democrat darlin yeah exactly we did you a little bit like the angela lansbury uh story where you like, I didn't know she was still a Democrat. Yeah, I was like, oh, really? Oh, OK, you're saying that now? But I mean, the right is eating this up. And a lot of people are like, wow, you're just you're basically auditioning to be a conservative pundit because this is what she said as she made her her huge bombshell announcement. as she made her huge bombshell announcement. I can no longer remain in today's Democratic Party that's under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers
Starting point is 00:09:31 who are driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoking anti-white racism, who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms. Anyway, all right. Okay, thank you. Thank you, thank you, iven freedoms anyway all right okay thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you she does seem to be delivering this on a podcast microphone so yeah podcast and a lot of people getting it in involved that like this sure sm7b mic that's
Starting point is 00:09:59 like just the industry standard it just feels like a prop you need to just look like an asshole talking about something like you shouldn't be talking about like you bring it into frame it's like i already know this video can't be good based on that there's a microphone in it yeah wait tulsi gabbard the the person who fills in for tucker carlson when he's having to like take a step back to yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah that that person is leaving the democratic party yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah that that person is leaving the democratic party yeah yeah yeah yeah yep yep yep yep yep yep it does seem like it takes away some of her power to the people in who watch tucker carlson right like wasn't that part of the fun was being like and a democrat she she admit it you know um he admit it
Starting point is 00:10:45 um uh anyways i think you should leave tulsi yeah uh let's take a quick break we'll be right back how do you feel about this kids hi i'm akilahilah Hughes, and I'm so excited about my new podcast, Rebel Spirit, where I head back to my hometown in Kentucky and try to convince my high school to change their racist mascot, the Rebels, into something everyone in the South loves, the biscuits. I was a lady rebel. Like, what does that even mean? The Boone County Rebels will stay the Boone County Rebels with the image of the biscuits. It's right here in black and white in the prints. A lion.
Starting point is 00:11:27 An individual that came to the school saying that God sent him to talk to me about the mascot switch. As a leader, you choose hills that you want to die on. Why would we want to be the losing team? I'd just take all the other stuff out of it. On segregation academies, when civil rights said that we need to integrate public schools, these charter schools were exempt from that. Bigger than a flag or mascot. You have to be ready for serious backlash.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Listen to Rebel Spirit on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, everyone. I am Lacey Lamar. And I'm Amber Ruffin, a better Lacey Lamar. Boo. Okay, everybody, we have exciting news to share. We're back with season two of the Amber and Lacey, Lacey and Amber show on Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network. You thought you had fun last season?
Starting point is 00:12:18 Well, you were right. And you should tune in today for new fun segments like Sister Court and listening to Lacey's steamy DMs. We've got new and exciting guests like Michael Beach. That's my husband. Daphne Spring, Daniel Thrasher, Peppermint, Morgan J., and more. You got to watch us. No, you mean you have to listen to us. I mean, you can still watch us, but you got to listen.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Like, if you're watching us, you have to tell us. Like, if you're out the window, you have to say, hey, I'm watching you outside of the window. Just, you know what? Listen to the Amber and Lacey, Lacey and Amber show on Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Do you ever wonder
Starting point is 00:13:01 where your favorite foods come from? Like, what's the history behind bacon-wrapped hot dogs? Hi, I'm Eva Longoria. Hi, I'm Maite Gomez-Rejon. Our podcast, Hungry for History, is back. Season two. Season two. Are we recording? Are we good? Oh, we push record, right?
Starting point is 00:13:19 And this season, we're taking an even bigger bite out of the most delicious food and its history. Seeing that the most popular cocktail is the margarita, followed by the mojito from Cuba, and the piña colada from Puerto Rico. So all of these... We thank Latin culture. There's a mention of blood sausage in Homer's Odyssey
Starting point is 00:13:38 that dates back to the 9th century B.C. B.C.? I didn't realize how old the hot dog was. Listen to Hungry for History as part of the My Cultura podcast network, available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. When you think of Mexican culture, you think of avocado, mariachi, delicious cuisine, and of course, lucha libre. It doesn't get more Mexican than this.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Lucha Libre is known globally because it is much more than just a sport and much more than just entertainment. Lucha Libre is a type of storytelling. It's a dance. It's tradition. It's culture. This is Lucha Libre Behind the Mask, a 12-episode podcast in both English and Spanish about the history and cultural richness of Lucha Libre. And I'm your host, Santos Escobar, the emperor of Lucha Libre and a WWE superstar.
Starting point is 00:14:31 Santos! Santos! Join me as we learn more about the history behind this spectacular sport from its inception in the United States to how it became a global symbol of Mexican culture. We'll learn more about some of the most iconic heroes in the ring. This is Lucha Libre Behind the Mask. Listen to Lucha Libre Behind the Mask
Starting point is 00:14:51 as part of My Cultura Podcast Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you stream podcasts. And we're back. And Bored Ape is back on all of our minds as if it ever left i mean this is just part of the big you know sec versus crypto thing they're now they're doing a probe of yuga labs which again if you look into some of the history of that name or that phrase well there's a lot of a lot of nazi smoke coming out of that area of the internet.
Starting point is 00:15:26 But they are looking into them basically to see if these NFTs and the sales of these, quote, digital assets are violating federal law. Because they're saying, like, are these NFTs closer to stocks? And if so, should they follow the same disclosure rules? And I guess it's the's the quote the key legal question at the center of the probe according to bloomberg is whether nfts are securities a question that the sec has reportedly been investigating since march well i mean they're a way to make other people money real quick through like pump and dump schemes which i think we've seen before in other
Starting point is 00:16:02 segments of our investor market. But yeah, there are a way for you to make other people poor while making yourself money. I feel like is. Yeah. How do we, Hey, Hey, as you see,
Starting point is 00:16:12 how are we defining stocks again? Shit to trick people that are dumber than you so you can get rich. If so. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:19 So these are, this is the board ape yacht club thing that Jimmy Fallon came on and promoted on his show, right? Yeah. With Paris Hilton. With Paris Hilton, yes. And I mean,
Starting point is 00:16:29 it is essentially like, I guess that that's a question that I'm interested in is could Jimmy Fallon be in trouble for like, I'm pretty sure it would be illegal for him to be like, guys, I just brought Coca-Cola stock. Here's the certificate they gave me. It's pretty cool. Right. And like getting everybody to be like, i just brought coca-cola stock here's the certificate they gave me um it's pretty cool right and like getting everybody to be like whoo oh which is oh wow they didn't know how to react
Starting point is 00:16:52 so they were like it's cute i guess is that how we're supposed to be reacting stupid um i'm sorry what do you do with that fucking thing it's mine okay never mind dude uh also look into like the you know the talent agencies that also seem to have a lot of intersecting talent pushing the crypto but yeah i mean you know kim kardashian got dinged for pushing ethereum max on her instagram uh which ended up being a total fucking so yeah well who knows maybe maybe matt damon but i was just doing a commercial man just doing a commercial man the jimmy found thing though like that clip i still stand by as being one of the most american things that's ever happened in the sense that you feel like you're watching like some weird like vick burger like right you know surrealist edit of of reality but it's just it's just what
Starting point is 00:17:48 is happening as america does anything frantically to deal with the you know feelings of terror that they have uh as as things begin to collapse and yeah so going oh about somebody's stock certificate that has a picture, objectively ugly character on it. Yeah. Anyways, shout out to those people. Kanye West. I don't I don't know if he had
Starting point is 00:18:17 tweeted that he was going to go death con three on Jewish people tomorrow or whatever. He said I'm sleepy, but tomorrow a death con. I'm like, what go death con three on jewish people yeah tomorrow or whatever he said i'm sleepy but tomorrow a death con i'm like what about death con right but that's okay that sounds worse actually what you said so fox uh you know because we we did talk last week about how he was on for a two night uh tucker carlson exclusive where you know they were like conge gets it because he had the white lives white lives matter shirts like as part of his fashion show in paris and so fox
Starting point is 00:18:55 the next morning after his tweet actually i yeah i guess so it was on sunday fox and friends weekend host will cain pete hegseth and Rachel Campos Duffy spent an early morning segment characterizing West's Instagram suspension and he was suspended for claiming that Diddy was being controlled by Jewish people. They claimed that it was
Starting point is 00:19:18 totally totalitarian not what he said but that he was being suspended totally anti-American and just wrong. They also suggested that West never, uh, would have been censored on social media. Had he not appeared on Tucker Carlson's show.
Starting point is 00:19:34 And they were loving him. Huh? Then what happened? Well, then I, so then they claimed, and this is being reported like credulously by, I think the daily beast.
Starting point is 00:19:44 They're like, I guess they hadn't heard what he tweeted yet. Right. Because then the hosts were like, Oh, all right. So apparently he tweeted something last night that was, that was bad.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Um, so we, we definitely think those are out of bounds, but the way they talked about it was still like he, this, this is how they described it. We talked about it earlier without knowing about these tweets and saying, of course they're going to put a target.
Starting point is 00:20:11 After what he said with Tucker, there's going to be a target, no doubt. But in this particular case, I mean, he brought the target with that. So now they're just saying that it was like unwise of him? Like it was imprudent of him to say those things instead of just being like, oh, that is ugly anti-Semitism.
Starting point is 00:20:32 We were supporting an anti-Semite like that. That's horrifying. That's not our values. Wink, wink, wink, wink, wink, wink. They were just play by playing like why it wasn't a smart decision. And then he just went on to be like but you know if you really think about it them trying to censor that is actually counterproductive because he's exposing anti-semitism by being anti-semitic oh okay and they were like it's a good point so yeah i think and then candace owens had to be like what he said wasn't anti-semitic
Starting point is 00:21:06 at all oh really yeah and she's like oh people can't you can't even say the word jewish without people getting upset it's like we're not doing this this is fuck no fuck that you y'all are dealing with anti-semitism like overtly no no no no and stop fucking talking about this guy yeah he has nothing to fucking add except for fucking chaos and there's not even a sincere like reporting on like how fucking violent he's been with like kim kardashian and shit like that there's just this i don't know man like he's like the perfect thing for like the cynical media to be like i don't know does he have a point yeah it's like what's really vile about all of this because now it's allowing fox to be like i don't know does he have a point yeah it's like what's really vile about all of this because now it's allowing fox to be like i don't i mean like more bartiromo is like
Starting point is 00:21:50 yeah the white lives matter thing's cool but the other stuff i don't know but even then let's talk about it who knows but this tweet is just totally off the wall so the anti-semitism is oh it's the wall it's michael jackson album right okay yeah I mean it is tough to because it seems like it's a person but but it yeah the the fact that the media is covering it and eating it up as much as they are feels like I I don't know I don't know what to do with it everything should be yo stop this guy yeah this is fucking nonsense like what are you doing like it you're not again you're not fucking saving anybody you need to you need to save yourself but again he's very useful for people with this kind of agenda because they use his blackness or mental health or whatever to try
Starting point is 00:22:38 and just sort of spin everything to be like well he's not serious right or you know he's being a troll or he doesn't know what he's saying but still talking about it and like using that as an entry point to discuss the ideas which is fucking vile but it is also exactly what they were saying about trump as he was rising you know that's like what fox news was saying about trump was he's not serious but he's making some good points here and there and then yeah now smash forward to the the death cult so um yeah it's wild the way that pathological narcissism just is is really hard for certain media outlets to turn off like turn away from yeah feels like a pretty straightforward like diagnosis this is why he's saying these things because he wants to get
Starting point is 00:23:32 attention and that is what we're going to give yeah dry him out see what happens when you don't talk about him right sure he'll try and go hard or whatever but just don't doesn't doesn't help anybody but again i think if your motive is but just don't doesn't doesn't help anybody but again i think if your motive is just engagement yeah then doesn't matter what the side effects are that are the consequences are all right let's uh close out by saying rip to angela lansbury from murder she wrote one of the greats not gonna lie had no idea she was still alive. I know. You had absolutely no idea. I, in my mind, I was like, really? But then I, but I have no memory of her passing away.
Starting point is 00:24:11 So, uh, I'm sorry, Angela. Shout out to you. Thank you for all your years of service protecting Cabot Cove. Murder, she wrote, was maybe one of the more honest portrayals of police because they couldn't solve a crime. Like the person would leave their hat at the scene of the crime. Right. And the police would like miss that detail and she would have to come through and be like,
Starting point is 00:24:32 what about the, the, the hat right there that has their name? Yeah. Whatever. England lady. Yeah. Um,
Starting point is 00:24:40 yeah. One of my first articles that I wrote for crack was about how Cabot Cove was one of the most dangerous fictional cities. if you looked at it from a crime statistics per capita. been replenishing the population with new people moving in because they seem to have as many residents as murder victims. Uh, when, when you kind of took a, took a step back, but,
Starting point is 00:25:11 um, also in Manchurian candidate, terrifying performance in that. Um, how do we know that she wasn't doing all them fucking murders? I mean, that was, that was another... Jessica Fletcher.
Starting point is 00:25:25 Great question. She is the person who writes murder novels. Wow, murder. Murder mystery novels for a living. It would stand to reason, and I think that actually happened in one of the Scandinavian countries that one of their...
Starting point is 00:25:43 A popular murder mystery writer just took it to the next level and started committing murders um so yeah i i don't know it i think somebody needs to reboot this series now that angela lansbury's gone and just be going back and doing the the work of figuring out that she was really behind all these crimes. Didn't she have a little pistol and shit too? Maybe connect it to the Manchurian candidate where she was using some sort of mind control to get the people
Starting point is 00:26:14 to do her bidding. She is the common element. Either her or the police, which the cops were just so incompetent it would have to be a usual suspects type situation where they were fake playing the character all along. It would have to be a usual suspects type situation where they were, they were fake playing, playing the character all along.
Starting point is 00:26:28 Anyways, we've got a lot of theories here. We're not going to let this one go to go to sleep. We'll keep covering the truth about Cavett Cove. Yeah. We will not be silenced by Jessica Fletcher. That's right. All right.
Starting point is 00:26:41 Those are some of the things that are trending on this Tuesday afternoon. We are back tomorrow with a whole ass episode of the things that are trending on this Tuesday afternoon. We are back tomorrow with a whole ass episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Get the vaccine. Get the flu shot. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we will talk to you all tomorrow. Bye. Bye. Hey, fam, I'm Simone Boyce. I'm Danielle Robay.
