Hello, the Internet, and welcome to this episode of Sir, may i interest you in a bordeaux trend johnny davis offering up the wine short show title that is a play on bordeaux blend which is something i don't know as a non wine dude but i wish i could i wish i knew more but i mean i don't know i wish i knew more i just i just don't drink enough wine to fucking know. My interior decoration is all Wine Mom stuff.
Starting point is 00:02:46 I just, I'm a fake. Fake-ass Wine Mom? A fake-ass Wine Mom. She doesn't even... A jack-o'-poser-ass Wine Mom. She doesn't even really get down with wine. Oh, my God. That would be amazing.
Starting point is 00:02:56 You know he got grape juice in all those bottles, right? I just like the stuff, okay? I like the vibe. That doesn't mean I have to drink wine. I just fuck with the culture okay i kind of like that idea that would be a good character fell in love with the culture honestly that's what happened i just fell in love with the call i'm not appropriating i'm appreciating yes all right i'm jack you are miles and these are some things that are trending. Lil Nas X gave birth, shout out to him.
Starting point is 00:03:30 He gave birth to a new album, his first studio album. The EP7, I guess, or 7EP was so named because it was just an EP. I don't know how I missed that. But this is the real deal full album. It's getting positive reviews, but they're from the Guardian and shit. So places I don't normally go for my music criticism. Where do you go? I usually go AV Club or Pitchfork or something like that you know okay okay yeah
Starting point is 00:04:08 there was a his whole like montero like rollout shit was so funny because he would be like do you like wish america would come back to its old ways like visit this website it was just his show website so he was just trolling with the billboard ads because this motherfucker is a genius so he is real deal yeah yes i love industry baby uh that's i really like that song yeah um people i guess people are saying that he was giving out bitcoin or something too i don't know the whole whole thing i don't know you you gotta listen to the album and, uh, yeah. Yeah. Um, I haven't listened to the album.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Have you? No, I haven't listened to it yet. Are you, uh, are you hopeful? Are you the, this just, I mean,
Starting point is 00:04:52 this feels a little mainstream for miles gray's taste. Montero. Yeah. No, no. I mean, I really like Lil Nas X, like as an artist,
Starting point is 00:05:00 the, like just more of like, like literally like for what he creates and his like uh ambition as a creator i really respect it i really respect it and yeah i i'll definitely check it out um just more like what i have to i have to remember because there's like so many tv shows and other things i could try and watch but it's it's hard sometimes to set the time down to sit with an album because i really really like to really listen. I don't sometimes passively listening.
Starting point is 00:05:27 I'll miss a lot of shit. So I'll give it the old sit down. The best diss track of all time is trending. Oh, right. That's why No Vaseline is trending. That's why No Vaseline is trending. Got it, got it, got it. Because everyone was like,
Starting point is 00:05:40 why is No Vaseline and Swollen Balls simultaneously trending? And that's because of Nicki and and who is it double xl uh yeah i think double xl yeah they did a positive they do a good job they do a good job of uh you know getting people talking about a rap question yeah i mean i no vaseline you know is a little i mean I was around for that but I wasn't As invested in the NWA beef As much as I was like Maybe like Tupac and Biggie
Starting point is 00:06:12 Or like Jay and Nas So I don't know I'm trying to think of what else You know back down by 50 Cent That was also one I feel like That was a Pretty scathing diss track But I don't know for me I don't know man honestly I feel like that was a a pretty pretty scathing diss track but i don't know for me i don't know man honestly i feel like the fucking the tale of addy don and shit push the t fucking he really took it
Starting point is 00:06:34 to a level drake up completely um yeah so in a way the fact that people still say like he ethered him it's like a pretty good indication that ether is up there yeah ether and the takeover definitely up there too because those are two depending on you know which side of the debate you're on but yeah oh yeah drake back to back that was also drama was acting that was that was also that had some good punch lines but i think from like ones where i surely just went back like oh god oh boy it's i don't want to listen to that again back was cool because it was so like fast it was just like yeah oh he said what and then like immediately drake have released his uh response yeah but i gotta go with uh luke 11 37 to 54 oh my god God. The woes of the Pharisees, bro. Just let them have it.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Oh my God. Running through the sixth with my woes. Yeah. Woes of the Pharisees. Woes of the Pharisees. Yeah. I don't have much of an opinion. I think it all depends on what beef you're most
Starting point is 00:07:47 invested in at whatever time but yeah yeah it was also like ether i think my answer is ether and i think because like for people who are nas fans but like he hadn't really like hit that level in a long time it was it was kind of cool to like see him actually like motivated right anyways uh the clippers are trending the clippers are trending uh i don't know why i sounded like uh paul revere shit but uh the clippers are trending because uh the clippers and intuit signed a 23 23 year naming rights deal for the new $1.8 billion arena in Englewood, uh, which is, is that,
Starting point is 00:08:31 is Englewood also where the Rams new arena? Yep. So if I, damn, Englewood is just going to be like, uh, yeah, just going to displace a bunch of people,
Starting point is 00:08:39 you know, build more fucking stadiums and give fucking tax breaks to build that shit. I don't understand. Like, yeah, sure. Like, even as like a lake friend,
Starting point is 00:08:48 I'm like, we're fine. Just sharing the stadium. Like, rather than like having to build, like spend more fucking money on another stadium. I don't know. Cool.
Starting point is 00:09:00 I know that there, it's just, it's funny to, to read, like they're just the bickering between Lakers and Clipper fans underneath the tweets announcing it they're like oh wow the Lakers now are the first NBA team with an away stadium too
Starting point is 00:09:12 good for them but I don't know yes lots of money will be spent it looks very fucking fancy I'm not going to lie that shit looks expensive it looks like a ufo landed in the middle of anglewood basically yeah um what does intuit do it's like financial software
Starting point is 00:09:30 you know they do turbo tax and shit quickbooks okay okay yeah um you know money like apps that are like made to make like we already talked about how that shit is already like they also lobby to keep our taxes as complicated as possible so we have to use intuit and shit so yeah hey and in a way it's our stadium that's right um it's for all of us i just wonder like how much longer staples is gonna hold on uh right so that like that that the staple center makes sense as a uh as a name like it's a brand but into it probably here for for a while as long as they keep their tax code very complicated that's some confidence that's yeah uh putting it out there and a lot of clippers fans are like
Starting point is 00:10:19 it means we'll be in la for at least that long and you're like oh oh you good for you you're worried cute that's great because they were right like weren't they going to maybe move before balmer bought them yeah there was yeah there that was all that seemed to be uh a bit of you know a possibility oh you know what else i'm fucking saying fucking control that big sean track kendrick lamar like literally calls out 700 people on that track oh yeah yeah but that that's like a diss track of the entire industry he just like uh again ethered the entire industry um including like big sean like doesn't he shit on like people who are on the track with him yeah it's like wait hold on wait a second jay electronica is on that one too and that was before i was like
Starting point is 00:11:05 really feeling him yeah or really i hadn't like followed all the the hype but his album that was officially released last year and also the unofficial release they're both pretty dope and i mean i think it's not like he's super like saying i'm gonna fuck all y'all up but he's basically saying like these people i'm naming you you're not better than me. Right. And that's just facts. So please don't, please don't get in your feelings. All right. Let's take a quick break and we'll be right back. I've been thinking about you. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project.
Starting point is 00:11:50 All you need to do is record everything like you always do. One session. 24 hours. BPM 110. 120. She's terrified. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:12:03 What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything? You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people.
Starting point is 00:12:20 There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm. This summer, the nation watched as the Republican nominee for president was the target of two assassination attempts, separated by two months. These events were mirrored nearly 50 years ago, when President Gerald Ford faced two attempts on his life in less than three weeks. President Gerald R. Ford came stunningly close to being the victim of an assassin today. And these are the only two times we know of that a woman has tried to assassinate a U.S. president.
Starting point is 00:15:05 One was the protege of infamous cult leader Charles Manson. I always felt like Lynette was kind of his right-hand woman. The other, a middle-aged housewife working undercover for the FBI in a violent revolutionary underground. Identified by police as Sarah Jean Moore. The story of one strange and violent summer. This is Rip Current. Available now with new episodes every Thursday. Listen on the iHeartRadio
Starting point is 00:15:32 app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. No Time to Die is trending because that is the name of the new james bond movie um the trail i think a new trailer dropped like a couple weeks ago i saw like part of it it looked cool to me um and then i think it's trending again because there's like clearly planted marketing material aka like behind the scenes footage of daniel craig giving a a heartfelt teary farewell to uh bond and the bond character so you know i also like that so
Starting point is 00:16:16 uh swollen balls is still trending um i want to just give that the lifetime achievement award for like so the the little like kind of stupid meme stupid trend that could because it is it is really outlasted uh the overrunner i had for it seriously somebody tweeted like swollen balls question mark no comma time to die exclamation point because they were trending right next to each other uh and that is well shit um do you fuck with bond are you do you care about that oh man uh only timothy dalton as bond what a specific take yeah i only i only recognize dalton as bond the word is bond uh i don't yeah i mean i did golden eye like is one of my favorites not that i'm like more because of Bond. Word is Bond. I don't. Yeah. I mean, I did.
Starting point is 00:17:07 Golden Eye, like, is one of my favorites. Not that I'm like more because it's like a childhood favorite. And I watched that movie so many times. Like, it's like one of those movies I don't need to ever watch again because I've watched it so many times. But yeah, I mean, I don't I don't I don't dislike it, but I'm also not like dying, running out to go see it. Yeah. Either. But yeah uh either but yeah no no no literally no shade to go see it no theaters and honestly i don't have time to die yeah that's what you always said that oh shit you should have trademarked that that i ain't got time to bleed zone of death is trending this is is something that Super Producer Brian brought to our attention
Starting point is 00:17:47 that is a zone in Yellowstone where they're saying that you can apparently get away with murdering someone because of complicated, overlapping jurisdictions. Yeah, Yellowstone has a 50-square-mile zone of death where you can get away with murder, according to Dylan Matthews of Vox. That is from back in 2016, but it is bubbling back up because of the Gabby Petito story. Got it. Finally, Laura Loomer prayers up the far right anti-Muslim, anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist, Laura Loomer has announced she's tested positive for the coronavirus,
Starting point is 00:18:28 which is weird because it doesn't even exist. Yeah. And she was posting shit. She was literally posting shit like, I hope I get this shit so I can show y'all this is nothing worse than getting food poisoning from bad fajitas or something to that effect. She was basically like, she quite literally said, thing worse than getting food poisoning from bad fajitas or something to that effect she was basically like she quite literally said i hope i get it because i want to prove that it's not as
Starting point is 00:18:50 bad as food poisoning and her post now like pray for me my body is aching so terribly it's the worst part of this and a lot of people speculate like she's just kind of doing some shit to get her name to pop again because that's just part of the ebb and flow of competing for relevance uh in the far right echo chamber world it's pretty reliable you see like the anti-vax pro-death group like kind of you you can't like there was a nurse who i was just reading the progression as she went from talking shit about how the vaccine is bullshit and you know, anti-science shit to like getting it. And it was the exact same thing.
Starting point is 00:19:32 She was like, this is, it's like being totally overblown. It's not as bad as the flu. Got it. Immediately was like, this is bad. Y'all please pray for me.
Starting point is 00:19:42 I, and then she did pass away. So I mean, it's's uh that's so fucked up like it's horrible you think there's gonna be like an industry where it's like scared straight but the anti-vaxxers they go like hey let me talk to you young man i used to be like you not believing in covid or the vaccine till i got covid look at my balls that would be an actually good use of their time and experience but i mean like i feel like it's there's so many anecdotes of people going going to the other side or realizing how harebrained they've been with all this and then regretting it
Starting point is 00:20:19 that i'm curious to see what if that has any effect at all on some people. I'm sure it does, because otherwise I feel like vaccine rates wouldn't be somewhat going up in certain places. I'm just trying to put myself in the position of the people who were protesting outside of that influencer anti-vaxxers hospital. And then they were trying to get the hospital to give her ivermectin and then they then she passed away and they like go home and do what like they're just like what what do they think happened there i mean that's why that's why you hear things like people saying like being intubated or being put on a ventilator is going is what's killing people that's what kills them is when they're vented but yeah it's yeah i don't know you hospitals are among the deadliest places uh in the world so that's why i never go there no matter what i mean where do most people die think Think about it. Thank you. Thank you, sir. Salute.
Starting point is 00:21:25 All right. That is going to do it for this week. Another week in the book. Season 202. What a season. Big book. In the big book. Shout out to the Pharisees.
Starting point is 00:21:39 That is going to do it. We are back on Monday with a whole new episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other, be kind to yourselves, get the vaccine, don't do nothing about white supremacy, and we will talk to you all on Monday. Bye. Bye.
