Starting point is 00:01:38 Woo! That's a Metallica song I just heard for the first time. Yeah, that's a 20-year-old Metallica song. I missed everything after the uh black album oh yeah apparently there's a new album out i have not heard it but that's the only that's the last the last metallica song i can remember is because that video i sang quentin i was like what the fuck is going on we also found out that kirk hammett was gifted a magazine that like the
Starting point is 00:02:05 night stalker richard ramirez like had and i guess wanted to give i don't know he said his ceo yeah gave him a magazine with metallica on the cover and then the subscription tag on the magazine said richard ramirez damn anyway that's pretty tight put it and you're probably gonna say kirk hammett's a nazi right yeah put in harlan crowe's museum um yep all right uh well some big news you can get eloped in the wienermobile um that is the headline from fox austin and i love that the headline doesn't even entertain the possibility that this is something couples would be doing with the approval of their families they're just like yeah you're probably gonna want to like or run and make a hasty decision on this one or like don't fucking talk down on my oscar meyer wiener mobile wedding it's i'm not a this
Starting point is 00:02:57 is not an open everybody's here because this is a good thing to do. I want to be married by a processed phallic meat van. Yeah, exactly. Great friend of the show, Jamie Loftus. This feels aspirational for her. I would love to preside over that wedding in front of the Wienermobile. It's like a two day window that they're offering it up.
Starting point is 00:03:18 So it's real. It's a stunt. It's a pop-up, a pop-up hot dog mobile wedding chapel event but as more people seek stress-free ceremonies with their partners our hot doggers are thrilled to reignite the joy of this special day and give them a once-in-a-lifetime experience a wedding through a pair of meat colored glasses yeah yeah that thing says a de-stressor like looking at things through meat colored glasses all our eyes are meat colored glasses if you think about hey jack i don't know man i i think
Starting point is 00:03:54 you're just too woke man you're looking at everything through your meat colored glasses man and that's not how the world works that's right pbs also quitting twitter um they will suspend posting after similarly being branded with a government funded media label, presumably intended to warn people that Joe Biden is the secret puppet master behind reruns of Arthur. Seems like the main thing that I'm getting on PBS. Daniel, the tiger. you don't even know about
Starting point is 00:04:27 daniel isn't it i mean i hate to pull your card isn't it daniel tiger daniel the i i just think it's more definitive than that miles okay oh like the ohio state university yes exactly monday night football daniel the tiger the ohio state university what if you went on to be a yeah college football linebacker with the with the speed ai is moving jack we could just punch a few magical words and be like give me a monday night football starting lineup intro package but with all children's cartoon characters that's right fozzie bear sesame street uh the vast majority of pbs funding comes from the government the u.s government uh it's about 15 because that's fast yeah the u.s government couldn't get away with it over the past 40 years as it became an evil to have anything publicly funded in the United States.
Starting point is 00:05:30 But, you know, viewer donations, probably some corporate sponsorships here and there. Yeah. I feel like the refrain with all these things, you listen to NPR, you watch PBS. My only idea of it is like, so we're doing our pledge drive. Right. And you're like, yeah, okay, fine. Yeah, you need money. Because we're doing our pledge drive right and you're like yeah okay fine what yeah you need money because we're funded by joe byron um elon musk responded to a question about the npr situation on twitter uh by proclaiming defund npr uh so he's just i like he then goes
Starting point is 00:06:01 on he said quote npr literally said federal funding is essential to public radio on their own website. Now taken down. What hypocrites? Guess they won't mind losing federal funding in that case. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. What about your federal?
Starting point is 00:06:16 We just need to take away all the money that he derived from federal funding. Yeah. Let's see. See how that feels. Go do one loan scum. yeah let's see see how that feels go do one lone scum so cash app uh the founder of cash app bob lee was murdered apparently knew the suspect that allegedly stabbed him to death another person in the tech industry yeah so yeah but i love the takes from other people like the woman who was, we just need to start public lynchings.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Right. About people in tech? Like, what's going on? I think that whole story was used to set a thousand ships to sea of like, it's a hellscape. This rich guy got stabbed to death. And now you're like, yeah, it sounds like it's not a fucking random crime. He knew the alleged perpetrator right uh but it's i think it just shows like how quickly like the people who need
Starting point is 00:07:11 their confirmation bias sort of little info snacks to come out like yes exactly you see what happened you see what happened i mean they got all of america to believe that uh san francisco was like this out of control like on fire hellscape uh based on like some videos of shoplifting and an earnings report by cbs so yeah surely they'll be able to spin this into tucker carlson gold or maybe becomes about immigration if the guy is not like in a u.s citizen or something sure. Sure. It's the immigrants. It's the immigrants. I always knew it was them. Even before the bears, I knew it was them. All right, let's take a quick break.
Starting point is 00:07:51 We'll come right back. I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series, Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult. And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed. Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films and LA-based Shekinah Church, an alleged cult that has impacted members for over two decades.
Starting point is 00:08:22 Jessica and I will delve into the hidden truths between high control groups and interview dancers, church members, and others whose lives and careers have been impacted, just like mine. Through powerful, in-depth interviews with former members and new, chilling firsthand accounts, the series will illuminate untold and extremely necessary perspectives. Forgive Me For I Have Followed
Starting point is 00:08:42 will be more than an exploration. It's a vital revelation aimed at ensuring these types of abuses never happen again. Listen to Forgive Me For I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Gianna Pradente. And I'm Jemay Jackson-Gadsden. We're the hosts of Let's Talk Offline, a new podcast from LinkedIn News and iHeart Podcasts. When you're just starting out in your career, you have a lot of questions like, how do I speak up when I'm feeling overwhelmed? Or can I negotiate a higher salary if this is my first real job? Girl, yes. Each week, we answer your unfiltered work questions. Think of us as
Starting point is 00:09:23 your work besties you can turn to for advice. And if we don't know the answer, we bring in experts who do, like resume specialist Morgan Sanner. The only difference between the person who doesn't get the job and the person who gets the job is usually who applies. Yeah, I think a lot about that quote. What is it like you miss 100% of the shots you never take? Yeah, rejection is scary, but it's better than you rejecting yourself. Together, we'll share what it really takes to thrive in the early years of your career without sacrificing your sanity or sleep. Listen to Let's Talk Offline on the iHeartRadio app,
Starting point is 00:09:56 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I've been thinking about you. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a thinking about you. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project. All you need to do is record everything like you always do. One session. 24 hours.
Starting point is 00:10:17 BPM 110. 120. She's terrified. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not. What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything?
Starting point is 00:10:36 You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams dream sequence is a new horror thriller from blumhouse television iheart radio and realm listen to dream sequence on the iheart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts and we're back and tesla's in the news what what are they doing what's up with them did they lose their public funding uh so we've talked about how that's a racist hellscape to work in for black workers and how like you know they called like an area where black workers called they were like
Starting point is 00:11:21 they called it the jungle and shit and all kinds of racism that these people had to be out of sight when Elon Musk came to work. This was a plant in Fremont, California. And, you know, these were like, these allegations were wild. But then like other people who had also worked at Tesla were like, yeah, it's the same thing over here
Starting point is 00:11:35 at this factory too. Oh, weird, weird, weird. So the state Supreme Court issued like a ruling basically saying that they are allowing workers to seek a public injunction on Tesla, which would basically require the company to acknowledge that they are racist and be like look we're racist and
Starting point is 00:11:51 we're gonna have to change our business practices in a tangible way because of this injunction um which could be really interesting uh for them there and if you've kept if we kept up with some of the news there like one of the last things we heard about like tesla workers was they were like sharing private videos from like the car like things that the cars were capturing with their cameras of like the owners and like oh really having jokes and shit yeah yeah for the lols being like yeah yeah we just we're invading this person's privacy because our car has a camera i don't know what you want me to do it's really funny what happened in this thing um so anyway good for them i'm you know elon you know dude do you baby killing it glad he's the most famous and popular and powerful person in our country at the moment that's cool hey we're a close second though you know that's right we're creeping up uh so nba
Starting point is 00:12:46 play-in tournament story damar derosen's daughter so damar derosen has had an amazing couple seasons uh two guard whose game is like sort of not fit to the current nba he's not a three-point shooter he's got more of a mid-range game but he's been powering this kind of resurgence and toughness by the Chicago Bulls. They beat the Raptors in the Raptors arena, and DeMar DeRozan's daughter went viral because... So this is something that I saw as the game was going on. NBA fan, Matt Boosty's guest, CJ Toledano,
Starting point is 00:13:21 tweeted, like, who is screaming at this raptors home game every time they shoot a free throw like this is weird you could just hear it as they would shoot you know the the home crowd would typically go quiet right anyone who's also been a troll at their high school basketball game from the stands knows this tactic very well is scream when they shoot the free throw uh and there's like a split screen like depiction of what was going on and she is so locked in it's amazing this is her screaming her head off while the raptors take a free throw right off the heel of the rim it's scream queen level it's so good yeah and so the the thing that people like in addition to it catching everyone's attention so the camera eventually found her and we're like oh it's
Starting point is 00:14:16 demar de rosen's daughter that's so you know she traveled to the game and was fucking with the heads of the raptors to the point that they missed a shockingly high number of free throws and lost by a smaller margin than the number of free throws they missed. Right. Usually an NBA team will miss like a handful of free throws in an entire game. They missed 18 and only lost by, you know, five points.
Starting point is 00:14:41 So it really is, she gets the game ball on this one. i mean it's it's no cornet contest but uh you know i mean actually this is probably the most effective thing we've seen yeah this one yeah when siaka misses that shot it's unbelievable like you're like oh she she has the keys to your brain and she's she she's just moved in. Okay, good. sports where like you're supposed to have concentration like they'll pull you like you'll get escorted out of the arena if you tried this but the fact like the nba just doesn't do that so um wow they shot eight they shot 50 percent 50 percent holy shit 18 of 36 like it was just unheard of so i don't know wow yo yeah it was powerful enough that like
Starting point is 00:15:48 in the beginning before like people had realized that their free throw shooting was going to be the story of the game people were already tweeting about it being like who is that dude this i just love this condensed highlight reel of all the screams and the missed free throws missed missed missed this is missed in terms of the total number of the quality of shots life is really good for him right now he's in a good fertile this and this is also the dream of anybody who is like rooted hard for a team and like i used to do all sorts of things in my own like magical thinking broken brain to like make people miss a free throw either on tv or like in the arena. Um, but she did it. She did it for all of us to, to prove you can,
Starting point is 00:16:47 uh, affect, uh, affect the game by just sheer will. Um, so congratulations to her and the bulls who became with that win, the first 10 seed to ever win a playing game and we'll be going against Miami heat to, Heat to try and
Starting point is 00:17:05 secure a spot in the NBA playoffs. Harlan Crowe. When will we just leave this young man alone? This poor billionaire. Who's just trying to unburden himself of the billions of dollars of inherited
Starting point is 00:17:22 wealth. Can we stop going in on this guy? Well, guess the fuck what? We've found out now that it's from ProPublica. In 2014, his fucking companies purchased a string of properties in Savannah, Georgia. And not necessarily anything to note. I mean, it's like, you know, it's like a single story home, two vacant lots down the road. Oh, but who owned that property? Well, guess the fuck what?
Starting point is 00:17:53 It was owned by Clarence Thomas's mother. And the transaction, this is from ProPublica, quote, marks the first known instance of money flowing from the Republican mega donor to the Supreme Court justice. known instance of money flowing from the republican mega donor to the supreme court justice the crow company bought the properties for 133 363 from three co-owners thomas his mother and the family of his late brother wow so well yeah oh you owned that oh man this is the wildest coincidence you bought my mom's house? That's wild. Yeah, it was a good piece of property. I'm glad that you liked it. And this is during a time of historic Supreme Court decisions
Starting point is 00:18:35 protecting the ability of generationally wealthy people to hold on to their money. Yeah. It's nothing to see here. This is fuckery in your face at the highest magnification absolutely what the fuck is going i mean it's like even without knowing this just like his behavior and his wife's behavior is enough to be like uh yeah i think we need to fucking get this guy out of here but jesus christ hey buy my mom's house and fix it up and
Starting point is 00:19:01 they won't and they won't uh arnold Arnold Schwarzenegger was in the news. So on Tuesday, a video of Arnold Schwarzenegger taking it upon himself to fix a gaping pothole on a street near his home, I guess, surfaced online, you know, not because he was recorded by passersby, but because he uploaded it to his official twitter account complete with like a musical accompaniment so this sparked a lot of media attention uh with a lot of headlines hilariously joking that arnold schwarzenegger had terminated the pothole yeah which is cool i'll be black top i mean there's so so many directions go, but they stuck with these, pitched it straight down the middle. But then the media cycle turned negative
Starting point is 00:19:50 after the city claimed that Schwarzenegger didn't fill in a pothole, but rather a service trench that was intentionally made by the gas company while they did work. And then... Hey, asshole, we needed that. He's like, that leads you to believe that he's filling in a manhole cover. Right, uh, so we needed that. He's like that, that like leads you to believe that he's like filling in a manhole cover.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Right, right, right. Uh, blacktop. But then I don't know. I don't, I don't think anyone's fully telling the truth here because then he's like,
Starting point is 00:20:16 actually it was, they had finished the work in January and we're just waiting to fill it in. the roads in Los Angeles aren't't great no i'm i think we're the last people to be like leave the fucking dwp alone or you know la or caltrans you know people who are in charge of the roads leave them alone because oh my god especially after the rains oh my god oh my yeah because already like like the fact that it's so hot and dry here just makes it like just a little bit of moisture ends up turning it into like a old dish sponge that just like dissolves under the tire.
Starting point is 00:20:53 So yeah, the ground just completely liquefies and everything starts crumbling. Yeah. Well, anyway, but you know what, Arnold, you did it.
Starting point is 00:21:03 You proved your point. Um, but I, for one, we'll be watching his what, Arnold? You did it. You proved your point. Well, I, for one, will be watching his Netflix show now. I'm sorry. What is it even about again? I couldn't really tell. It just seems like action. Big action thing. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:21:17 What is it about? I don't know. Action? I think there might be some action in it. Oh, is it called FUBAR? I believe it is. It's called FUBAR, you idiots. What are you doing. Oh, is it called FUBAR? I believe it is. It's called FUBAR, you idiot. What are you doing, idiot?
Starting point is 00:21:28 It's called FUBAR. Which is actually pretty cool if you know what FUBAR stands for. FUBAR will kick your ass and make you laugh. And not just for two hours. Okay. Can they say that? Exactly. You can.
Starting point is 00:21:40 All right. Those are some of the things that are trending on this Thursday, April 13th. We are back tomorrow with a whole ass episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other. Be kind to yourselves. Get the vaccine. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we will talk to you all tomorrow. Bye. Bye. FUBAR. For us, by arrogant rich people.
Starting point is 00:22:02 There it is. I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult.
