Starting point is 00:00:39 starting your career. That's where we come in. Think of us as your work besties you can turn to for advice. And if we don't know the answer, we bring in people who do, like negotiation expert Maury Tahiripour. Listen to Let's Talk Offline on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Keri Champion, and this is season four of Naked Sports.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry. Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese. Every great player needs a foil. I know I'll go down in history. People are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game. Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's sports. Listen to the making of a rivalry. Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese on the iHeart on the iheart radio app apple podcast or wherever you
Starting point is 00:01:25 get your podcast presented by capital one founding partner of iheart women's sports hello the internet and welcome to this episode of stan van trendy we'll go with van gundy play on that name yeah what else could it be who else but the one the only stan van gundy uh i'm jack that's miles yeah i don't know if anyone was confused thought i was stan van gundy well we've clarified it now we have clarified it uh stan van gundy is actually the name of someone who is trending right now brother of jeff van yes former miami heat coach you know also a commentator i think yeah mostly now is what he's known for is he still trying to coach a team though is he always i feel like people always been like yeah there's stan vangundy and then feel like that well he he had the uh new orleans job and that officially i think
Starting point is 00:02:17 put the end to his coaching career because they were you know young promising, promising. He came in, he was like GM and coach and it did not work out so well. Uh, I think it was just like a season or two. So he must, he's trending for a good reason if he's trending. Cause that's the last time that everyone's like itching to, uh, you know,
Starting point is 00:02:38 the, the hot gas on Stan Van Gundy. No. So he tweeted nineties NBA teams had just a trainer and a strength coach. They practiced more often and harder and played more back-to-back.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Teams now have huge medical and performance staffs and value rest over practice, yet injuries and games missed are way up. Something's not working. And Kevin Durant came in and said,
Starting point is 00:03:00 Stan's spitting. And Stan Van Gundy said, No, I'm not criticizing players. I'm saying that we're getting something wrong in how we prepare and train players. We can't do anything about injuries like yours. He fell on your leg, but all of these groin hamstring injuries shouldn't be happening as much as Stan.
Starting point is 00:03:15 And Grant responded, Stan, I agree with you, lol. And then someone had to respond and say, spitting means you were speaking facts, Stan. Stan, Stan had no idea. So, man, yeah,
Starting point is 00:03:28 that's just a peek behind what, what, uh, the locker room must be like in any team with an elderly pop. Wouldn't get caught like that. Well, he wouldn't give a shit if Kevin Durant disagreed. No,
Starting point is 00:03:39 but I'm saying pop would know what that meant. Right? Pops like that guy in that gif who does like the complicated hand greeting with the. Oh, yeah. That old white guy. Yeah. Like stacking with like blood gang signs or something like, yo, what? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:58 But look, Stan, I mean, maybe. Come on. You're spitting, man. I'm not. I would. No, no, no, no. I agree. I'm not criticizing the players you have me wrong sir anyways
Starting point is 00:04:12 I feel like I had to go Stan I agree with you LOL Kevin Durant underrated just ultra celebrity in that he just really is out here, child of the internet, and just speaks his mind.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Gets drunk, goes on the wrong podcast, but a podcast nonetheless, and you get to hear from him, obviously. Yeah, he didn't. Well, Miles and Jack got mad boost. He didn't exist yet, so he had to go on some lesser NBA podcast. You know what I mean. So he had to go on some lesser NBA podcast.
Starting point is 00:04:46 You know what I mean? So we can go out there. Yeah. We'd have you as a guest on Zeitgeist, I guess. Like we'd have to talk about it, but we'd, we'd think about it for sure.
Starting point is 00:04:53 There's a process though, to guest on the show. So you, you know, all that to say, you would go through this vetting process. All right. B of A is trending.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Yeah. Saying that. Bank of America is having some problems, I think. Some security issues. There's a technical glitch reported on the morning of Wednesday, January 18th. Many Bank of America customers have stated
Starting point is 00:05:16 they're missing funds, have a negative balance and or missing deposits. I think it's tied to Zelle. If you bank with bank of america check your account i think it's the moral of the story that it's been as of just about an hour ago they said okay it's been resolved right oh man um but yeah they it's it looks like it's all working transactions on the zell network outside of Bank of America are not impacted.
Starting point is 00:05:45 I'm always waiting for the day when we wake up and all the banks have just been cleaned out digitally. You know? Yeah, right, exactly. Like Mr. Robot style. Or, you know, what they tried to do in the end of Fight Club, right, when they were blowing up all the banking records, like, and there's no debt.
Starting point is 00:06:02 Wasn't that the fucking thing they were all going in on? Yeah, I think they both... I'll say that the makers of mr robot definitely saw fight club but it turns out turns out they might have times but yeah yeah this is uh i mean what a fuck up because people were taking screenshots it's like hey your balance is negative three thousand blah blah blah like holy shit man like whatever good advertisement for credit unions that's right you know um trump is trending for a couple reasons always good news um first people think that he may be coming back to twitter because his staff reached out to meta and was like hey we want we want to come back to you, boo. We miss you.
Starting point is 00:06:45 We want to be back on the socials media. Yeah. And then, I mean, it seems possible because he was doing so much shit on Twitter. Like, it was sucking up all the oxygen. And we talked about how then Elon sucked up all the oxygen on Twitter. And right now, nobody's there to suck up the oxygen on Twitter again. And I think he's looking at it and being like, I need to get relevant again.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Look at all that oxygen. Holy shit. Oh, my God. Truth Social is not popping at all. Which will be interesting, too, because I think we talked about how if he goes back to Twitter, I think his investors can sue him because he was supposed to stay exclusively on Truth Social. But whatever. Good luck trying to get your money from him you know yeah my guess is that is not factoring into his decision making at all he's like what are they gonna do sue me who gives a shit i think he looks at how little his follower number is on truth social versus what it was on twitter
Starting point is 00:07:41 yeah he's like uh and twitter's now you know empty of any moderation it's he's gonna this is gonna be a big deal i'm sure if he does decide to go back on and i think there was a bad deal i think there was something also about meta essentially kind of being like yeah maybe we'll you know vet the stuff he's saying i don't know there i think everyone's preparing for like what a trump back social media landscape looks like i think if everyone you know just just do as you should don't follow him you know you don't need to hear about it he's not he's not relevant but again whatever i'm gonna he's crawling in an athletic stance uh I'm gonna be ignoring the shit out of it so hard
Starting point is 00:08:27 that I'm gonna need to be like keep my head on a swivel you know day one he's coming back he's gonna say the most fucked up thing and like you know probably give credence to some shitty conspiracy theory and we're gonna have to be like oh yeah no we're definitely I mean that's
Starting point is 00:08:42 yeah but just cause we have to just cause we have to yeah yeah it's not because I want to it's not because like i get a charge out of it and then it like fires my anger neurons or anything like that it's actually uh because i have to and i regret it dude my nickname was riptide rush back in high school because i was so thirsty not anymore not anymore we also saw a poll which we don't put too much stock in polls, but there was a morning consult poll because like the thing that the impression you might have gotten from the mainstream media is that Trump is over like on to the next thing. DeSantis is the new improved model. Trump's campaign is lonely and nobody cares. It's depressing over there.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Someone ran a poll and he has a 17 point lead over DeSantis in a hypothetical primary matchup, which is kind of where I would have like prior to all the fucking up and all the big stories. It's kind of what I thought it was, you know, is that like Trump has a big built-in advantage over desantis um he does i mean i think the thing that is we don't really think about when we game out them going head to head is just how fucking low trump is gonna go oh my god like it's like we know it as a given but i don't know like for all the time like ron desantis is
Starting point is 00:10:06 smart i think that's why he's like man i'm not trying to get into the mud with this fucking guy like hopefully it can he will organically flame out and then i can enter when he's in a very weakened state but even then you're looking at a cornered orange rat who is ready to do whatever the fuck he has to to either get back in office or make these investigations go away and seeing ron desantis as like an impediment to that would be very interesting not to mention how he'd probably question the entire primary process in the country too he's like no all those votes are rigged you're like wait hold on yeah huh and there there's been recent polling that found trump and desantis were neck and neck and before that i think there was even a poll that said desantis there's one in december that found desantis beating trump but for all of the mainstream
Starting point is 00:10:57 media kind of kicking dirt on like you know well surely this is the thing that's buried him and proven that he's a fraud to his followers does not appear to be borne out in the numbers at least at this stage polling is very flawed but it's up to this point the polling has usually underestimated his support not overestimated it yeah or it's like a regression to the mean right whereas the last time we got those polls was like right off the heels of the midterms and Trump just looked so defeated, looked like a total joke. And so people, I think for Republicans,
Starting point is 00:11:33 were like, fuck that, man. I want to win. Fucking DeSantis or whatever. And then now that things have gone quiet a little bit and you ask again, it's back to like, I mean, yeah, Trump's like the guy. Yeah. So I think it's going to take a combination of like you know certain news stories or whatever for
Starting point is 00:11:50 because we're not i mean shit i'm really curious to see like in about six months where the party is on him if there's any movement or they're going to be like yeah yeah we're just going to burn up on re-entry holding on to this guy um which because you know the lack of thinking over there seems like it mainly yeah i mean they're gonna be further to the right if history is any indication like that's just the direction they're moving and he's he's kind of positioned to by position i mean just like doesn't you know makes up his his position on every morning you know when he gets online so right i don't know yeah it just seems like there's a lot of things that favor him so hopefully not but i think he's probably gonna be in it for a while desantis stands to uh has a
Starting point is 00:12:40 better shot of beating biden than that's what people think yeah which i think may be the case there'd be enough people to be like well the sanders is different even though he says the exact same things as trump like someone could do a little moral licensing there and be like you know what maybe i was wrong about the republicans whereas trump it's going to be like i mean the democrats i'm sure just praying for that because they're like, yes, just use all the same oppo. Fantastic. But whenever it's Trump versus a Democrat, Trump, like the polling always underestimates it. Like the polling heading into the election was like Biden was up double digits.
Starting point is 00:13:19 I think the same with Clinton, or at least it was like 7%, 8%. And this polling says 3%. So I don't know. I mean, look, Jack, the Democrats are going to learn. They just got to go hard to the left during the campaign, get all the people out, and then completely back the blue once you get sworn in on that Bible. Yeah. All right. Let's take a quick break. We'll be right back. that Bible. Yeah. All right. Let's take a quick break. We'll be right back. I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series, Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult. And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films and LA-based Shekinah Church, an alleged cult that has impacted members for over two decades. Jessica and I will delve into the hidden truths between high-control groups and interview dancers, church members, and others whose lives and careers have been impacted, just like mine. Through powerful, in-depth interviews with former members and new, chilling firsthand accounts, the series will illuminate untold and extremely necessary perspectives. Forgive Me For I Have Followed will be more than an exploration.
Starting point is 00:14:36 It's a vital revelation aimed at ensuring these types of abuses never happen again. Listen to Forgive Me For I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I've been thinking about you. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project.
Starting point is 00:14:59 All you need to do is record everything like you always do. One session, 24 hours. BPM 110, 120. She's terrified. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not. What was that? You didn't figure it out?
Starting point is 00:15:17 I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. This machine is approved and everything? You're allowed to be doing this? We passed the review board a year ago. We're not hurting people. There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing. They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Listen to Dream Sequence on the i the I heart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello everyone. I am Lacey Lamar and I'm Amber Ruffin, a better Lacey Lamar. Boo. Okay, everybody,
Starting point is 00:15:56 we have exciting news to share. We're back with season two of the Amber and Lacey, Lacey and Amber show on Will Ferrell's big money players network. You thought you had fun last season? Well, you were right. And you should tune in today for new fun segments like Sister Court and listening to Lacey's steamy DMs. We've got new and exciting guests like Michael Beach.
Starting point is 00:16:16 That's my husband. Daphne Spring, Daniel Thrasher, Peppermint, Morgan Jay, and more. You gotta watch us. No, you mean you have to listen to us. I mean, you can still watch us, but you got to listen. Like if you're watching us, you have to tell us. Like if you're out the window, you have to say,
Starting point is 00:16:32 hey, I'm watching you outside of the window. Just, just, you know what? Listen to the Amber and Lacey, Lacey and Amber show on Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts and we're back and flowrida is back did he ever leave but he just won 82 million dollars uh after he sued celsius yeah for being janky as shit with their business practices. Apparently, he'd signed an endorsement deal in 2013 and renewed it a couple years later.
Starting point is 00:17:13 But they're like, where the fuck are my stock options and all these other bonuses? Yeah. And I guess they thought they could just fuck with this dude's money. But he sued and he won. The footage is great. He comes out of the courtroom after he's won this case and he takes a big old sip of a celsius at the lectern just to be like ah you know god is good justice was served today uh and then just like there's like another shot of him in the courtroom where they're like playing his music for the jury to be like i mean
Starting point is 00:17:42 you know like it's like this these are well-known songs or whatever. And just watching him be like, yeah, it was just like bopping along to the, to the track and the songs are infectious. I could not get, yeah, they take you back.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Definitely that whistle song, man, that is in my head for at least the next 48 hours. All right. All right. Uh, Boston dynamics is trending. my head for at least the next 48 hours. Alright, alright. Boston Dynamics is trending. They released a new video
Starting point is 00:18:08 of one of their robots that not only can it walk, which I was not familiar with the latest technology from Boston Dynamics. Where it's doing a fucking gainer and shit. Top rope.
Starting point is 00:18:23 They came with a bipedal robot that is doing parkour and is built like a brick shithouse would be the best linebacker in the NFL I would not want to
Starting point is 00:18:38 so the video is I think the way they're pitching it is like it's a construction site droid type thing. And so they have somebody on scaffolding hammering something in, and then they're like, oh, I need a bag of tools up here. And then they activate the tool droid,
Starting point is 00:19:01 and it does some pretty impressive stuff. Yeah, I mean, throwing a whatever... it looked like a heavy ass tool bag of maybe wrenches like above its head obviously i don't think anybody if you've ever been on a construction site you'd say yeah that's what you do just fucking heave this bag of tools above your head no but uh yeah it's it's got balance it's got grace and it's going to be you know demanding that you show your face when it knocks on the door to collect your bills or whatever they'll be used to do that was powerful that's i love poetry and it hit me right in the i'm a poet jack and don't i know it it does it does seem like the Boston Dynamics team and their robot have been listening to my criticism of them because it's very show-off-y, this thing. It doesn't just turn.
Starting point is 00:19:55 It leaps in the air and does a 180 and then lands gracefully. gracefully and then after throwing the tools up to the top scaffolding it does a like some complicated gymnastics flip it involves a spin a turn lands completely sticks the landing yeah and then puts its hands in the air and victory like not even doing like the like i'm a humble gymnast thing where you're like oh do i did i stick the landing and then like and i did it more just like landed like exactly it was more like a celebration after you dunked on someone i'm a cybernetic organism you asshole now watch me do this flip yeah it's pretty impressive the one thing i will say where we talk on tomorrow's episode about the Tesla video the Tesla autopilot video that Elon Musk
Starting point is 00:20:48 tweeted out to all of us in 2016 that was like no driver that driver is just there for legal reasons and it turns out we now have confirmation from somebody who worked at Tesla at the time that that was not the case like nobody was actually like remote controlling it
Starting point is 00:21:04 through the turns or anything but it they had 3d mapped the exact route it was going to take and then somebody was possibly controlling the accelerator and decelerator for for the self-driving car so there are ways that you can preset a thing i just like to see the Boston Dynamics construction droid in a live setting where people are walking around with 2x4s
Starting point is 00:21:33 tackling drills man you and the fucking robot 1v1 let's go boys yeah I'm in no way getting caught in a bullshit position and just doubling down until i have to fight a robot i do think i could beat it in a tackling drill you're right what would you do i mean like i feel like if you're quick right you like you
Starting point is 00:21:55 want to slash like the hydraulic pumps on the joints and shit so like that's my first move in any tackling drill is trying to slash the hydraulic pumps on this droid what you just cut kyle's achilles tendon with that box cutter jack ah got his ass he get us right you fucking droid uh yeah i don't know i mean it's funny because when i look at it my first thing is how the fuck am i gonna take this piece of shit down yeah but then my secondary thought is they're not gonna leave all that shit exposed if they like they know someone like me he's like man just clip the fucking hoses like that's gonna have some like adamantium chain mesh or some shit around it yeah um yeah i was thinking like we still have to go through the rubber exoskeleton phase of the terminators where they looked real stupid
Starting point is 00:22:39 yeah they all looked like those old man bank robber masks, but maybe they'll do adamantium chainmail. That would actually be smarter. That would be. But hey, you know what? We'll see. Look, we have the wonderful privilege of probably having to come face to face with one of these things during the resource wars. All right.
Starting point is 00:22:58 And also Andrew Tate. All right. To let the people know that Andrew Tate is trending. Dude, it's well well what's wild is a bunch of fans of his were like running through Athens like chanting free top G because I guess he goes by top
Starting point is 00:23:13 gangster and like like a good amount of people were out there trying to fucking cape for this guy he's a fucking sex trafficker he's been accused of this sex trafficking shit he's also been saying stuff like the matrix is getting him which a lot of his like fans have also been parroting so you know the matrix is getting him is that like dumb guy for the deep state basically it's like the it's actually the matrix yeah it's just whatever his conspiratorial explanation which is i'm engaged
Starting point is 00:23:42 in illegal activity that may bring consequences no that can't be it it's the matrix because of what i'm doing is cool imprisoning people i mean this is kind of just related to what we were saying with the justin roiland like uh rick and morty shit like it's not that everyone's gonna be like oh fuck rick and morty then they'll just be like ah fuck what everybody's saying. Justin Roiland did, or fuck the people who said that, uh,
Starting point is 00:24:08 he, he's cool in my book because I can't let go of Rick and Morty because it defines my identity because we don't have actual social groups anymore. We just have shows that we all reference to one another to feel Rick and Morty. I'm a Rick and Morty, I'm a Rick and Morty, Andrew Tate Yeezy kind of guy. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:24:29 You know what I mean? And that's, you're like, oh, okay. I understand your entire worldview, but it is kind of, it's disturbing to see that many young men like. Yeah, it is. Enter physical space to demand this person's freedom, but that's what these parasocial relationships
Starting point is 00:24:45 will do to you, I guess. Yep. All right. Well, that is going to do it for us this Wednesday, January 18th. We are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other.
Starting point is 00:24:56 Be kind to yourselves. Get the vaccine. Don't do nothing about white supremacy. And we will talk to you all tomorrow. Bye. Bye. Bye. I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series, Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult. And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church.
