Starting point is 00:02:01 Hello, the internet, and welcome to this special holiday episode of your daily zeitgeist a production of i heart radio and yeah today we are instead of looking at the zeitgeist uh today we are actually home with our family and friends we We are recording this before. We should say that we're recording this early December. So if anything huge happens in the realm of holiday songs, classic holiday songs, if there's any big revelations or newcomers for the next couple weeks, we will have missed them. Yeah, back off. Okay. Last year, we looked at some classic holiday movies, what our top 10 list looks like. I actually don't remember what we did last year.
Starting point is 00:02:48 It was something with holiday movies. And this year, we're doing holiday songs, just like you're overrated, you're underrated, you're properly rated, but just good. And I am Jack, you are Miles. And we are thrilled to be joined in our third seat by the person who makes it all happen, super producer, Anna Hosnier! I've heard of this.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Anna? Yeah. Happy holidays! Happy holidays! We're talking songs today. I know you've been really mom about your favorite songs i remember when we were trying to put this episode together like i will let you know i have to think about these songs so we're like okay fine we'll work on a doc and we'll have you chime in yeah
Starting point is 00:03:37 but you have been teasing that you got one that's gonna fucking melt our brains like some yeah because the whole point here is we're talking about overrated songs underrated songs you know what's super horny that maybe is a little weird to listen to during the holidays that's kind of the the gist but we are waiting with bated breath uh to hear what your top song is because i've been we're basically building too so we're gonna start with properly rated but just good properly rated but just bad. We're going to do a side category of the best and worst of the horny Christmas songs. And then we are going to get to our overrated and underrated Christmas songs
Starting point is 00:04:16 and building to the big revelation that, again, Anna hasn't told us what her underrated is, but... It's going to be big. Yeah. It's going to be big. It's going her underrated is, but it's going to be big. Yeah. It's going to be big. It's going to be big. It's going to be huge. I do want to make a bit of an announcement that I did not necessarily agree to
Starting point is 00:04:34 this bit. So we will see where it goes. All right. Hit it. Oh, okay. You're saying that I will send motherfucking screen caps. Are you writing this?
Starting point is 00:04:44 Actually, I have a new dimension to the bit I got him right here I got him right here you're not gonna do this right now you are not gonna back out on the bit no no no I have a bit but I didn't agree to make it
Starting point is 00:05:00 your bit as well so what do you mean okay I came up with something funny and now you're trying to act like it's your bit too but no no no no you don't know where this bit's gonna go only child who's never done improv i'm setting a motherfucking stage for a joke i said i thought mariah carey was the only good song and underrated. Wow. We'll cut that out.
Starting point is 00:05:27 No, cut it out because actually, that's funny because I changed the bit without telling you guys. Wow. Okay. Just beep the name of the song with bells, Christmas bells. No, no. You have to cut that out. That defeats the entire purpose of me being here
Starting point is 00:05:43 and going to be potentially late to my tech meeting after this sorry uh anyways uh chaos pure chaos uh which is what you would expect but we uh also uh asked christy yamaguchi man crispy meme don't earn no uh what is it wow candy cane waffle gucci cane oh at waple house at waple house that's that's who it is uh you know Candy Cane. Waffle. Yamaguchi Cane. Oh, at Waffle House. At Waffle House. That's who it is. You know, he is the GOAT TDZ, a.k.a. writer. Through his a.k.a. writing, I have found out about some classic pop songs. I just really like his taste in music.
Starting point is 00:06:17 So I DM'd him and said, hey, what do you think about Christmas music? And also sent me a picture of your dick. No, I didn't. I don't make that joke. All right. Anyways. Sorry. So we have his picks.
Starting point is 00:06:38 All right. So just to kind of start things off in the middle, let's talk some properly rated, but like ones that we love miles i know you were talking about some classics that you're you're a fan of properly rated and just good is just the old like the shit that's in christmas movies from the 70s through the early 90s like when before like the phenomenon of like big pop stars making christmas versions like i like that old timey stuff where you know the people sing like performing it we're probably racist but you know what it's got an authentic christmas sound you know like andy williams i really like
Starting point is 00:07:17 that uh happy holidays uh is a fantastic track uh and just like one of those things i think for me the properly rated but just good ones are are the things that when you hear it it immediately you can hit the sleigh bells or whatever just activate your holiday memories yeah so that's like that's kind of where i look at those things they're from the 50s or they sound like they're from the 50s they sound like they're being sung by someone who eventually died of lung cancer. Right, right, right. Because they were smoking. Or consumption. Yeah, or consumption.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Yeah, some like Oregon Trail type death. I got a couple of favorites. I got Run Rudolph Run by Chuck Berry, which is, I love that song. There is a second verse, however. So the first verse, he's talking about like asking a boy what he wants for christmas and the boy gives like the coolest answer he's like i want a rock and roll electric guitar and they close it out with rudolph running off like a shooting star but uh the second one is kind of it's um the girl asked for a doll that can cry drink and wet herself which just uh
Starting point is 00:08:29 i don't know i mean that was a function of uh of toys back then but knowing his past with taking peepee pictures that definitely is a weird chuck Berry. I'm just like, come on, man. Right. It just doesn't, that one, compared to what is like a mostly classic song, that detail has always stuck out to me. You know, you got your Last Christmas by Wham! Or Wham! Merry Christmas Baby by Otis Redding.
Starting point is 00:09:06 Happy Christmas War Is Over by John Lennon and Yoko Ono is a good one. And it's extra interesting because I'm just thinking a lot, as is everyone, after the Beatles doc, you got your Lennon, you got your McCartney. McCartney's really like dominating the band
Starting point is 00:09:20 and like the songwriting and has like all these cool moments. But then when you look at their post beatles careers i don't know man not that great yeah like do you like the mccartney one the yeah you know i do not i think that's one of the one of the uh bad it's like a thing i remember growing up like adults always being like, turn that one off. Like, skip it. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:47 I was just like, what the fuck? Why are people so angry at this shit? I was like, I don't really give a fuck. I just like the, I like the delay on the keyboard and shit sometimes. But that's how I feel. Anna, how do you feel about these songs? I've never really heard any of them. You never?
Starting point is 00:10:02 Okay. You don't know? What about Run Rudolph? That was like in Home Alone. Run, run, Rudolph. That one? Legitimate. This is not even a bit.
Starting point is 00:10:09 I've never heard that song. Okay. Little Saint Nick by the Beach Boys. I feel like they should actually have more classic Christmas songs because their kind of corny lyrics should be like a perfect fit for Christmas music. And then What Christmas Means to Me by Stevie Wonder, Christmas Baby Please Come Home, Darlene Love, Sleigh Ride, The Ronettes, and yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:33 So Christmas Baby Please Come Home was one of Yamaguchi Main's picks. Just that incredible Phil Spector wall of sound and her voice were incredible, were his description. Phil Spector, huh? But the wall of sound though, voice were incredible, were his description. Phil Spector, huh? Yeah, yeah. But the wall of sound, though, can't deny that, huh? Can't deny the wall-o sound.
Starting point is 00:10:52 Nope. I can't even, in my mind, hear any of these songs. Yeah, I mean, they're not like the most classic ones, but, you know. What's one you can hear? Well, we're getting to that, I sure i mean maybe last christmas last christmas because it's been covered by everyone and then some there's a lot of like fun youtube videos of people dancing in front of green screens with oh yep yep exactly um it's got some green screen energy. Great GSE. Big GSE. Super producer Brian was also pointing out Silver Bells.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Or not Silver Bells. What's the one that's like... Carol of the Bells. Carol of the Bells. Which is interesting because it's like a creepy... Like it has a creepy vibe. Like it's kind of of a family with the exorcist theme song and like the home theme song but for some reason it like works i don't know i feel like i just associate
Starting point is 00:11:52 it with home alone or something or a movie that made it christmassy in my mind but sonically it's because it's in a minor key tonality it's just like it just has that tension built in because it's all like minor chords if i could get theoretical out here with the music because most stuff is like super major chord happy like fun stuff and this just has that like you're saying a low hum of tension throughout it but when that part comes at the end of home alone like it hits like really hard. I think the idea of that one is to kind of perpetuate the concept that we let an older white man break into our homes in the middle of the night in order to give us gifts that we don't know where these gifts came from.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Right. So I think it just kind of adds to that level of terror we have experiencing this stranger entering our home who then proceeds to demand cookies and milk yeah and we don't even know if those gifts are stolen like if you get up like is this bike stolen i don't know what santa got it what does he do for a living how did he afford it like his use of chimney work is kind of like is this performative what are we doing here to use the front door break a window throw a brick through the kitchen window like a santa would big brick oh coal um any other old ones that you you want to call out before we move on to i feel
Starting point is 00:13:15 like these are just kind of like these are standard you know like these just i think these are all agreeable i think i'm i'm probably more excited for the horny ones quite literally and yeah the bad ones i mean the, and the bad ones. I mean, the properly rated but bad, this is from Christy Yamaguchi-Mann, and I think it's like the answer, the one Christmas song that everybody hates. I thought you could get McCartney in there with this, simply have you, but apparently that's just old people like me who dislike that one. So, but properly rated but just bad do they know it's
Starting point is 00:13:45 christmas time at all just trash i do do i mean and there won't be snow in africa like in this this christmas time the greatest gift they'll get this year is life whoa whoa easy easy here never heard i know you're trying to solve the world here band-aid but i don't know if that's uh that's the best way to do it this was the release the year of my very first christmas as a baby and you still remember it right still remember it 1952 yep exactly uh yeah because i'm a time traveler i was born right before my dad that's how ahead of my time i was my parents hadn't even been born yet uh but yeah i'm a time traveler i was born right before my dad that's how ahead of my time i was my parents hadn't even been born yet uh but yeah it's a that one definitely has this shitty
Starting point is 00:14:30 it's because i think it misses the point you know like it's not so broad and nebulous that it just feels like a simple like feeling of good times like it's just so specific and off the mark i think that's why people are like yo this is fucking stupid right yeah it's just horrible very 80s like you know save the children type shit but just coming through a group of exclusively white guys i mean do they know it's christmas time at all the poor people out there who aren't christian do they know do they know that ah it's a shame that's that's the injustices we're fighting against with this track that bob geldof put together you know we were talking about movies that are underrated christmas classics that sometimes don't even get brought up
Starting point is 00:15:16 as christmas movies uh rocky four is a good example of that that i was just thinking about because uh you know it's he trains in the snow uh the fight is on christmas it's like mostly known beyond the standard rocky shit for a uh robot like a gift robot which uh is for polly's birthday but it's still like a gift and then at the end has a santa on. And then like, ultimately it's the ultimate like cold war America where they do know it's Christmas versus Russia where they, they haven't even heard of the thing, you know?
Starting point is 00:15:54 No, they don't know what communism. Right. So it's interesting to me how you're always able to bring Rocky four into every conversation. Yeah. And we cut it all the time. That's what listeners don't
Starting point is 00:16:05 know it happens every episode it started as soon as you brought up rocky four started having deja vu that we've had this conversation before not not on christmas angle though it's a gift that keeps giving much like christmas remember andy you said yo stop find a new angle and he took that seriously and he found a new angle oh watch me turn up this christmas talk about rocky for a lot i feel like you really do like this is i'm telling you guys these are not bits i feel like i've spoken to about rocky for with you many a time you genuinely don't like me yeah no it's not a bit you love rocky for i uh it is the first movie i saw in a theater that's right there you go see i know i've heard this before it's up
Starting point is 00:16:45 there with teen wolf as like one of the movies that i saw it so early on that it has imprinted on my brain and i judge everything through a rocky four base lens anyways uh we're gonna take a quick break and then we're gonna come back with the uh best and worst of the horny christmas songs in regards to Rocky IV. Yes, and how they relate to Rocky. To Rocky. I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series, Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult.

How do you feel about biscuits? Hi, I'm Akilah Hughes, and I'm so excited about my new podcast, Rebel Spirit, where I head back to my hometown in Kentucky and try to convince my high school to change their racist mascot, the Rebels, into something everyone in the South loves, the Biscuits.
Starting point is 00:20:32 I was a lady rebel. Like, what does that even mean? The Boone County Rebels will stay the Boone County Rebels with the image of the Biscuits. It's right here in black and white and prints a lion. An individual that came to the school saying that God sent him to talk to me about the mascot switch is a leader. You choose hills that you want to die on. Why would we want to be the losing team? I just take all the other stuff out of it. Segregation academies. When the civil rights said that we need to integrate public schools, these charter schools were exempt from that. Bigger than a flag or mascot. You have to be ready for serious backlash.
Starting point is 00:21:10 Listen to Rebel Spirit on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. And we're back. And Christmas is like humanity's mating season when you look at like where the most birthdays are they are nine months after christmas uh it feels like this should be a very uh horny uh music season but i feel like a lot of the good romantic christmas songs are just about people like missing other people and then you've got like this christmas by donnie hathaway and but but like a lot like
Starting point is 00:21:52 people are always like how is baby it's cold outside still being played on the radio and it's because it's like one of the classics that like is fucking horny as hell right and again what could be more american than lack of consent uh so they all very much comes together i saw there's funny that movie that i was talking about the rom-com with jimmy o yang and uh what's her the other love hard yeah love hard they sing a like updated version of baby it's cold outside there's like a whole bit where he's like changing the lyrics for it to be like like he's basically saying like hey you should go like everything isn't like you know like oh it's cold outside he's like then maybe you should go uh but it's uh definitely not as horny in that sense. But yeah, it's a,
Starting point is 00:22:46 that's always a weird one. I feel like also the bank, I don't know why this looked, and this is, this might be a journey into my psyche being Crosby. That voice, that sounds like some weird candlelight horniness. If you look at some of his songs, cause he's just like,
Starting point is 00:23:02 Oh yeah. Like his voice is all deep and shit. I'm feeling it. Bing, ing bing bing yeah because it's not google cause crosby what is it it's not google it's bing crosby and he's getting you horny because his yeah that voice i don't know it's not because they're not the songs i like to hear, but if it's late, then maybe it's time to put the kids to bed, you know? And you were saying that you're really into Santa Baby, that that one really gets you going. Oh, boy. No, so that's on the list of bad ones, I feel like.
Starting point is 00:23:39 I don't know. So this was one of Christy Yamaguchi man's picks on uh you know overrated he said i don't need santa sexualized no thank you plus there's no comma between the words santa and baby so the title evokes a gigantic baby with a beard there's also i saw mommy kissing santa claus which is another one where the santa in question is like you know clearly supposed to be the dad but like why do we need to put it through like in the context of children like that that feel like i don't i don't want to like the romantic song to be through the eyes of a child watching their parents get ready to like have sex with each other right while dad's in a santa costume yeah or just confuse kids who think
Starting point is 00:24:22 their mom's having an affair with santa they're like whoa what it's a good conceit look she's fucking kissing santa right now go look fucking has anyone done that like a movie where like the person sees that happening and then like takes takes a oath of vengeance uh on santa yeah oh because like their parents got divorced like shortly after that night and he in his mind santa's the reason their parents broke up and that's when the comes in because it's actually now actually that's a good point it's a revenge theme oh right yes that's it look where's that movie someone who really believes their their parents were having an affair was and they had the exact revenge on lifetime slash right hallmark there's probably
Starting point is 00:25:13 there has to be a movie called like i saw mommy kissing santa claus or something and it's like loosely based on that and the kid loses complete respect for the dad it's like you're fucking pathetic fucking cuck it's gonna let santa run up in here like it's complete respect for the dad it's like you're fucking pathetic fucking cuck it's gonna let santa run up in here like it's his place oh it's it's apparently an snl sketch with uh scarlett johansson's saying called i saw mommy kissing santa claus okay oh also it's a 1997 song by the ronettes and by jimmy boyd in 1950 and by Dolly Parton in 2020. Oh, I guess it's just a cover. That's fun. Oh, and by
Starting point is 00:25:52 Jackson 5. That one takes a darker meaning. Yeah. Whoa. There is a movie that was on PAX, so you know it's like some religious stuff about a young boy who's having thanksgiving dinner his family only for it to anyway so he finds out that his friend's parents are going to be divorced
Starting point is 00:26:10 then he overhears his own parents having an argument and then he goes to his bedroom but then he looks downstairs he sees his mother kissing santa locked in a warm embrace with santa claus he takes a photo shows it to his friend the next day and then sends it to mrs claus oh oh okay so he okay that's chill actually right mrs claus deserves to know oh my god so then the whole thrust of this one is that he believed he straight up believes his mom is having an affair with santa so he decides to behave as badly as possible in an attempt to prevent santa from coming to his house on Christmas Eve. Wow. I mean, that's good. They took it to the next step.
Starting point is 00:26:48 Yeah. That's cool. That's wild. And he's just committing a bunch of terrible crimes. And it's like, oh my God, honey, that was your dad. What are you going to do? All right. Well, it has come to the time for for our underrated truly underrated christmas songs actually like we can do overrated real quick because yeah i just have yeah so santa claus
Starting point is 00:27:13 is coming to town uh this is all over people's like top 25 lists of like great christmas songs like there's both the jackson five and the bruce springste. And like, I do not like the way that the chorus is always Santa Claus. Like, it just feels I don't know. It feels like they're trying to hurt me with with this song. They like to do it on the two. It should be Santa Claus. That shit. I mean, look, I don't that song also i'm like that's fine it reminds me of being in like a
Starting point is 00:27:49 recital in first grade and being forced to sing in front of an audience yeah um and i think that one it's a fine song to sing i just don't like the two most popular versions i think they're like kind of i don't know annoying grating uh they have they used to be in like my christmas playlist uh and they have been removed also the bruce springsteen one has like him riffing which i don't need to oh really yeah it's like ah not too many not too many you've been bad you're not gonna get any gifts it's just a whole. And is Obama on there, too? They're renegades together. Two biggest renegades of our time.
Starting point is 00:28:32 Yeah. All right. OK, it's time for the underrated. Yeah, the real shit. And do you want to kick us off or where do you want to come in the order? Sure. I guess there's this one song I've always um wanted to hear more my entire life like sure it's a song that like i want to say i probably only heard for the first time in the last
Starting point is 00:28:54 two years and this song no no i take that back last five years uh mostly when i moved to la is you know when i really started to learn about culture and, you know, kind of more like niche culture and, you know, like my, my, actually maybe I heard it in college. Maybe college is a place I started to learn more about niche culture. Okay. And as you know, I, I grew up with Persian parents who we didn't really celebrate Christmas. Like we were around Christmas because America really has like a chokehold around your neck, uh, during Christmas time. And so, um, you know, I, I learned about this song and I was kind of like, why is no one ever playing it? I never hear it anywhere. It just seems like, because the person who sang it is kind of such a like legendary artists that maybe we would have heard of it. Yeah. Like it almost feels like this artist specifically has kind of um taken over the christmas brand in a way as something that
Starting point is 00:29:51 they really love and they like to sing songs about then this song that they sing i'm like guys i think it might be the best christmas song ever slash sung by this person you know like and you're saying this is something that in general is not being discussed enough i don't know like i almost feel like every time i i want to hear it i have to like dust it off you know like it's so go crate digging yeah people are not acknowledging this song under any circumstance we're gonna take a quick break and find out what the song is after this uh and after like 10 more minutes of this buildup. Actually, I got to roll. All right, guys.
Starting point is 00:30:29 You all got to go to the tech. We'll never know. We'll never know. Starting point is 00:34:54 you it's mariah carey's all i want for christmas have you guys heard it i think i've heard it like hold on hold on it's like it's like sorry no come back to me so i haven't heard in a while it's all i want all i want for chris all i want for christmas is dot dot dot you hey i know this one all right yeah until like yeah because there's the pause she wants you as a gift so you know it almost kind of brings like it's kind of like romantic in a way but you know she's like hitting those because it's mariah so she's like all you know kind of like oh you know so that upper register yeah i mean that is kind of like, Oh, you know, so that upper register. Yeah. I mean, that is kind of like when you think about the lyrics, I think I can't really think of it either,
Starting point is 00:35:48 but like the, it is kind of horny, right? Like all I want for Christmas is you. But again, this is an example of like Pete, like, why aren't we,
Starting point is 00:35:56 why don't we have more popular horny Christmas songs? Like nobody ever talks about this one, but like it's a, it's solid. And like, it's not ever played and you you would think it's like the perfect karaoke song it's like no one's even out here singing it at karaoke during this time of year exactly that for whatever reason people are avoiding it's really sad to see
Starting point is 00:36:18 yeah and like if someone you would assume if people put it on and people really knew it like it would literally pop the roof off the house you know like you would think you think like mcdonald's would probably want to even get involved with something like that and yeah like maybe like an all i want for christmas is a big mac i mean like it's these things it rolls off the tongue like i'm just you know i'm spitballing you gotta save these ideas you might be able to you might have a career in marketing you know what i mean 100 i'm gonna i'm gonna really think about that i does anyone cover that song you know is it like almost forbidden to cover that song i feel like you have heard a cover of it ripped oh really i did yeah this year
Starting point is 00:36:57 uh i don't i don't know i didn't uh i didn't shazam it because i was too fucking furious that anyone would try and uh first of all like popularize this song but not give mariah carey credit because like it's going to blow up with someone you know it's it is you're right it's a good song and then mariah will have to go on instagram live to convince people it was actually her who sang it originally right right oh it's tough that's really tough that's another good like kind of question is like are there uncoverable christmas songs that it's just like yo we've done it don't fuck with it don't don't fuck with it like that baby come home for christmas whatever or like bells will be ringing the one that starts like that i feel like i always hear
Starting point is 00:37:42 covers of that one and the original is like so so good yeah don't cover andy williams oh please come home for christmas by charles brown that's what it is that's actually on christy i'm a gucci man's list yeah i'm sure i'm kind of shocked because he has a good ear for for like you know hits and he didn't even put yeah anywhere mariah carey uh you're slipping bill yeah You're slipping, Bill. Yeah. You're slipping. All right.
Starting point is 00:38:12 His list, Julian Casablanca's I Wish It Was Christmas Today from SNL, which I do love that song. And he was saying, you know, people don't take it seriously because it was just like a dumb SNL sketch, I think is where it started. But he was saying people should take it seriously. Do some serious covers. This is one that could be covered more. It has not been. It has not reached its apex.
Starting point is 00:38:30 He has run the jewels of Christmas fucking miracle. And that Charles Brown, the baby, please come home for Christmas. Which no more covers. As well as that song that Anna was talking about. That Mary. Mark. Mark. Mark Carroll. No. more covers as well as that uh song that anna was talking about the um that mary mark mark brown carol no mark carol's i'd like christmas with you for you yeah yeah becca ramos uh new member of the tdz team gave us christmas in harlem which is one that i hadn't listened to in a couple years and it was good to good to get that back in the rotation.
Starting point is 00:39:09 I'm old, so I was like Christmas and Hollis, the Run-D.M.C. one, which I love. That was so good. That one really gets my Christmas spirit going, and along with that, I think some, I don't know, this isn't really underrated, but I feel like it should be really embraced more is the Vince Gu growaldi trio's christmas time is here from the charlie brown yeah but see everyone knows the one with with the choral version with the kids singing yeah the instrumental one is fucking really good because it's got some great piano solos
Starting point is 00:39:39 and for me that's another kind of christmas movie i like that's like instrumental and just soothing but also is interesting enough that you listen and you go oh look oh i like okay i like that little note there and another one i got a big up is the sharon jones and the dab kings it's it's a holiday soul party that album is also really good it's a whole album he just gave you a whole album i just did a whole album fuck it fuck it uh rest in peace to sharon jones but yeah that is a wonderful album like of like covers that you know you're like you're not you're not mad at them and they actually they're good for like a you know more festive because sometimes christmas music can be a little demure you know this is something lacking energy sometimes um yeah my number one really should check out that mariah maria maria maria mary carrie so this one
Starting point is 00:40:27 for uh is that does this qualify as like being part of anna's bit because i don't know how big this one is but happy christmas with uh featuring toots and maytals do you know that one oh i don't know that one happy christmas um, that's mine. It's very joyous. Byron Lee and the Dragonaires are the artists and then it features Toots and the Maytals. And it just sounds like a party.
Starting point is 00:40:56 And then my favorite melancholic one is 2,000 Miles by Pretenders. I like that one. You like a melancholy track too? Something that gives you something to be thankful for during the holidays yeah or just like you know you're not with your loved ones i actually like i don't know christmas doesn't make me sad necessarily but i do love a melancholy like christmas track yeah yeah maybe just for the schadenfreude of it all yeah
Starting point is 00:41:22 like fucking look too sad these sad-ass losers. And you're like, wait, I'm going to be walking by. I guess I'll have another TV dinner. These sad losers walking by, peering into my front window while I'm eating a big Christmas goose, you know? Doug Boehm, who is, you know, one of our producers here a grammy winner you might know him from las colchis las colchistas he's dougie on there you know him i had a call with him today he gave me father christmas by the kinks as his underrated christmas jam so go check that shit out um maybe we can in the description put all the uh all the songs we do recommend and you can you can go hit up a playlist yeah i
Starting point is 00:42:06 think we might do that i think i can do that wow really look at us i although look no promises about that one anna was saying i don't know where we're gonna get miracle carners every time my christmas is with me uh yeah yeah like that's because we will probably do the playlist on spotify and like they they have some obscure shit but like it's not like they're not. Sometimes you get Spotify and Apple and Amazon. It's like, you know, you have every track, but fingers crossed it's on there somewhere on the Internet. Yeah. All right. And thank you so much for for hanging around with us.
Starting point is 00:42:42 I know you have to jump. Thank you so much for hanging around with us. I know you have to jump. Yeah, I'm actually, I'm working on this campaign to get All I Want for Christmas by Mariah Carey a lot more popularized during this time of year. So, you know, guys, I got to go do the hard work of, you know, really letting people know that this song exists and more people should be listening to it. And it should be sang at karaoke more. Right. And check out her change.org petition that she started uh just so we can get as much support on that as well please so just in case anyone missed it it's all i want for christmas is you by mariah m-a-r-a-h carrie c-a-r-e-y so go look that up it's you know i think
Starting point is 00:43:18 it might be a little hard to come up you know very little plays on spotify so you know do your best to find it yeah and then yeah tweet me and let me know how you like the song i would love to hear everyone's thoughts on if they like this song or not if you're digging it yeah all right thanks all right well that has been uh this uh 40 40 minute long bit um we hope uh hope you learned some new tracks I hope got furious by one of our takes on one of these songs all the above we hope you're having a great Christmas
Starting point is 00:43:52 and you are with your loved ones and not just listening to melancholy Christmas music about how blue you are invite me alright well that has been one of our holiday episodes and we'll be back with more of these and unless this is the last one we release uh unless some kind of a cataclysmic
Starting point is 00:44:15 earth event occurs in which case blame it on that yes uh all right guys uh back with more probably tomorrow i don't i don't know what day we're gonna release this don't worry no one does we haven't figured out the schedule i'm sorry okay all right bye happy holidays i'm jess casaveto executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult.
